Mukuro's POV

In a dark, secluded place, I lay slumped to the wall clenching my chest as I frantically breathed for air.

"Ah..ha…ha…ha…ha…" I pant as I closed my eyes. I can still hear Nagi's cries from earlier. My heart ached but…

'It's for the best' I thought, desperately reassuring myself. Tsunayoshi will find her and keep her safe from me. I know he will. My vision began to blur as I started remembering my own true memories.

"Mukuro-sama, I brought you some food" I turned around to see Chrome hurn while carrying a plastic bag. I patted her head and smiled.

"Thank you, Nagi." I told her as I took the bag. Chips…Noodles…Chocolate…Gu- Wait, was that chocolate? I took the chocolate from the bag and immediately unwrapped it. Taking a bite, I found myself immersed in pure bliss. I heard a chuckle as I saw her smile.

"Mukuro-sama, your face is funny" I blushed as I looked away. I looked at her way again when I already reassured myself only to see her take a bite from the bar. I just looked at her in shock. When did she came out of her shell?

"But the chocolate is tasty. Thank you, Mukuro-sama" She inclined her head lightly.

"Kufufufu, it looks like they're taking good care of you" She just stared at me with a hint of happiness.

"Yes, they do. Mukuro-sama" To think that being with them can make her overcome her own shyness. As long as they do not harm her, I'll tolerate their own antics.

"We might as well go. It seems like our boss is having a dilemma" She seemed a bit shocked but came over it as soon as it appeared.

"Yes" Dissapearing in a mist, the other memories were filled with her.

"Mukuro-sama…"

"Help me, Mukuro-sama!"

"I'm sorry, Mukuro-sama"

"Thank you…"

What the hell am I doing here?

I materialized my trident in front of me. Using it as a support to stand, I took in small intakes of oxygen then took a deep breath. I transferred all of my mist flames to it as I felt an excruciating pain surging through my body.

"AAAAGGGHHHHHH!Ugh!...ha…ha…ha…ha…Guh!" I bit my lip to prevent myself from screaming. Blood trickled down as I felt my body numb. Before everything's too late, I snapped my trident as it broke into two and shattered to dust. Feeling a soothing gale from outside, the dust clumped together to make a fragments. Reaching out to it, the surroundings began to close in and felt myself collapsed to the floor. I felt something brushing my hand as a bright light blinded me.

'Nagi…Please be safe'

Chrome's POV

I still can't get over of what happened yesterday. Mukuro-sama kicked me out. I wonder what happened to him. Did he hate boss that much? Am I not needed anymore? He was out of himself ever since boss' older brother came.

…!

I immediately turned around when I felt a huge amount of mist flames scatter about.

'That power…'

"Mukuro-sama?" I called out. Even if he did threw me out, he's the reason I'm here…I can't just forget about him. I saw a shining stone heading my way. I didn't summon my trident nor went to a defense position. The stone was made out of mist flames…from Mukuro-sama. It slowed in speed as it descended in front of me. It was still clad in purple flames. Flames that were pure and I feel protected and safe from anything.

I extended my hand towards it and scooped it from underneath. The flames vanished leaving behind trails of light. The stone was clear and almost transparent if it weren't for the fact that it has a shade of purple and contains a thorn inside.

"A thorn?" I turned it around and examined it. I didn't know Mukuro-sama can make something like this. Maybe if I break it then I can get that. I pondered on the idea for a while before heading to Boss' house.

"Boss might know what to do with it" When I arrived, no one was home and the door was locked. Did they go somewhere?

"Now where do I go?" The park might be a good idea. I'll just go there for a while. I walked quite a bit when I heard someone call me.

"Chrome-chan?" I looked around and saw no one. Where did that voice came from?

"Chrome-chan, over here!" The voice shouted making it easier for me to pinpoint the location. I looked upwards on one of the houses and saw Kyoko-san.

"Kyoko-san" I nodded my head at her, showing that I heard her.

"Thank goodness, I thought you can't hear me. Wait right there, I'm going down!" She dashed inside and came outside.

"Chrome-chan!" She smiled and stood in front of me.

"Where were you going?" She asked.

"I was thinking of heading to the park" I answered.

"The park? Is Tsu-kun not home?" She frowns slightly.

"Unfortunately," I moved my gaze to my feet then continued " I was thinking of staying at the park as I can't go back home at the moment" I remembered when Ken and Chikusa would bicker every second and Mukuro-sama laughing and patting my head.

"Oh, then do you want to stay at our house for the moment? Until you can go back home? It gets a bit lonely by myself. " She offered. Her brother went to the mansion? I can't believe that he had the heart to leave her sister. I know how it feels to be alone…Being left by the one you love…Being with Kyoko-san might ease up our loneliness even if it's just a little bit.

"If I am not intruding, then I will gladly take you up on your offer." I told her bowing. She just smiled and literally pulled me in her house. We took a tour around the house and ate dinner as the sun is already setting.

"Thank you for the food" I stood up and was about to clear the dishes when Kyoko-san stopped me.

"Don't worry about it. Why don't you go rest upstairs while I clean up here?" She was already wiping the table. Refusing now would be disrespectful.

"If you insist" I bowed and went upstairs. I have a room for my own. It's just a normal room with a bed, dresser, closet, bathroom, window and a carpet. The bed was next to the window which is pretty ideal if I have a hard time sleeping.

I leaned next to the window and gazed at the stars. Oh, I forgot to go to Boss' house. I should visit them first thing in the morning. In the meantime, I should sleep. Things are happening too fast for me. I took one last look at the sky and let myself be engulfed by darkness.

Kyoko's POV

'Oh, Chrome...'

I went upstairs to check if Chrome is alright. I saw asleep next to the window. What happened with Mukuro-kun must have really shook him up. I just shook my head fervently. What am I thinking? I know all too well how sad it is to be left by one who you care and love.

"Nii-chan...When will you come back?" I sighed and went to my own room. Tsuna-kun's twin brother, Akira Sawada. He really is a mystery. He was able to capture Tsuna-kun's friends in two months. Twin big brother...If that is so, then how come that Maman didn't tell us about him? This is all too confusing... I took out my phone and called Tsuna-kun.

Ring...Ring...Ring...Ring...Ri-

"Hello?"

"Ah, Tsuna-kun?" He sounded tired. I wonder what happened

"Kyoko-chan?"

"Where are you now?"

"I'm at school with Hayato. Oh come on, you know you like it when I call you that" I heard chuckling from the other side and some incomprehensible mumbling.

"Why are you calling, Kyoko-chan? Did something happen?" He asked the last question with a tone of seriousness.

"Nothing happened" yet " though Chrome-chan is here with me." I informed him. It's better if

"Chrome?"

"I found her earlier. Is it alright if she stays with me for a while?"

"That's not my decision though but Chrome's." I can feel his voice darken...He doesn't want to be his brother. Someone who dictates the life of others.

"I'm sorry, Tsuna-kun..."

"No...I'm sorry. I overreacted." He sighed.

"Then, we'll see you tomorrow" I put the phone down. I'm so useless. I wonder...If I'm being a burden. I don't know how to defend myself or even fight. I think Nii-chan have some books about self-defense somewhere. I want to stand beside Tsuna-kun.

Tsuna's POV

I just sighed. I've been sighing a lot.

"Are you alright, Jyuudaime?" I just smiled.

"I don't think so but I can manage" He just looked at me and stood up.

"Jyuudaime, why don't you go to sleep? It's already nighttime." I just turned my eyes towards the open field.

"I'm thinking of sleeping here..."

"E-EH?! Then let me get some sleeping bags and a tent. We also need some light and clothes."

"We don't really need that much. We can just lay down at the rooftop and go back home before the sun rises." The usual Gokudera is back. All of us have been really stressed. Maybe we can go to an amusement park this Saturday.

"But Jyuudaime, the ground is cold. You won't have a comfortable sleep." He just looked at me in worry.

"Oh come on it's been a long time since I slept here" I just pouted at him.

"No, I'll ready the sleeping bags and tents. Didn't you know..." I just smiled while he lists a couple of things. I really missed this. Wait, is he going to jump down? This will be a long night for us.

Unbeknownst to them, a silhouette watched their exchange from a tree. He just watched in silence as his body flinched almost as if a habit threatening to break out.

"Damn it. I can't last this long" He clenched his fist and walked away. A second later, there was no trace of someone ever being there.
