Chapter 16
Running a hand threw the soft white sand on a lovely warm day at the beach was something Lucy loved, it felt like heaven. It also made her smile to know that all her friends was enjoying it just as much as she was, having her eye's closed she heard the laughter and everything from them. She also loved that her new dragon senses was allowing her to experience the fresh ocean breeze that hit her nose. Opening her eye's, everything was a little dark but that was due to the black shades she was wearing that covered her coco brown eye's from the sun.
She looked to the side of her and saw that her pink haired boyfriend was laying on his stomach, with a lopsided grin staring right back at her, " enjoying what you see there Natsu?" was that came out of the new slayers mouth. His grin widened more, " Nothing better than seeing your girlfriends sexy body in a bikini, it's brilliant! And also that silver dragon tattoo on your ribs is epic! So detailed!" she got up leaning on her elbows looking down to her rib cage, where it indeed held a dragon tattoo that looked like it was hanging onto her skin by it claws, it's tail curled up a little bit and wings spread out, looking up at the moon. "Thanks love, I just loved the design of it, the moment I saw the design I was instantly drawn to it, and now I know why. It represents who I am." She looked up to the sky and Natsu smiled, "Hey Luce! If you even need help with your training I could always spar with you."
She chuckled and nodded, "thanks Natsu that would be great but we would have to go to an open medow or something wouldn't want to end up destroying a town or something while two dragon slayers was training." At the moment them words left her mouth her older brother, Laxus looked over to them from his sun bed, " if your looking for a trainer Blondie then I'm the best one to do it!" she couldn't help but laugh, " you've got your own little pupil now Spark plug!" a small growl emited from his mouth as they looked over to the water where Ino, Xavier and Sasuke was having a water fight.
" I can still train you also, you know she would have wanted me to help train your powers anyway." Knowing exactly who he was talking about Lucy nodded and sat up fully on her sun bed reaching over for her drink, " I know, I just wish I could remember more about before it happened" he nodded and looked to her chest where the lightening necklace hung, "I'm sure you will get your memories back sooner or later blondie." Her eye brow twitched a little "Your blonde too idiot!" Natsu just grinned more like an Idiot, his girlfriend seemed to have more of a feisty side than he knew.
Over at the other side of the beach –
Erza was laying on her stomach as Gray was applying sun tan lotion to his girlfriends back, " this is so nice of Lucy to let us all come here for a vacation! Even if it is just for the weekend" Gray just smiled to her, " yeah, but something tells me it's not just a vacation for her, she's basically my little sister in a way, and I know when she's wanting to look for information on something, I wonder if she's heard about them Dragon Host rumours that's been going around town."
Erza turned around and sat up as Gray went behind her again and began to massage the Sun cream into her shoulders, "I have noticed her sudden spike in magical energy it was really noticeable at the hospital few days ago as she slept, I'm not too sure on what it exactly is, but she's hiding something and I don't like that fact if it's something dangerious that she is keeping us out of the loop, Lucy is our friend and family" he nodded agreeing with the Red head. " I know exactly how you feel Erza, but Lucy isn't exactly an open book. No use asking her old high school friends either, cause I doubt she will share any type of information that would put their lifes at risk, we will just have to keep close to her for now and hopefully she will open up to us soon enough, but for now…" he held up a glass of coke for Erza with strawberry cake, which she couldn't resist giving him a kiss. " you're the best Gray!"
Later that evening, around 11, Lucy was sat in her fathers old office with a pile of paperwork in front of her, and a pair of reading glasses on her face. She never realised there was so much unfinished paperwork that her father had left until she had stumbled upon it while searching for her mothers diary. So she had decided to try and get it all done before going to bed and continuing the search next day for the information she needed.
She was too busy going through the documents that she hadn't noticed anyone come into the room until the smell of fresh herbal tea hit her nose, looking up she saw a worried looking Erza. "Hey.. Are you ok Erza?" the red head nodded and sat down in a chair just in front of Lucy's desk, " I'm fine but you look exhausted, how long have you been in here for?" Lucy looked over to the clock as it read 11.13, " A little over two hours, I came in to get a book for some light reading but noticed that my father had left a lot of unfinished paperwork so I'm just trying to get it all sorted" Erza stood up and walked looking over some of the paperwork, some of it was in different languages, only one she recognised was French as they was studying it in school, " I see, wait what are all these other languages?"
Lucy smiled a little bit, " well that's, German, then it goes to Spanish, Mexican, Greek and a little bit of Chinese here too." The girls mouth dropped, " and you understand it all?" this made the stellar mages smile grow bigger, "Yup! One of the only good things that my father made me brush upon when I was being home schooled was the different languages, due to that we make business deals in different countries too." Erza had never seen this side of Lucy before, the hard working business side. She was amazed at the girl in front of her, " I'd say, why do you want to be in High school then if you basically have everything you need inside your brain?"
That made the blonde laugh a little, " I may have the brains for it, but I still need the high school diploma to prove I have that knowledge, not that I'd leave fairy tail or anything but it's a backup, you know say like if I have children in the future," Erza nodded understanding, it was pretty smart thinking on Lucy's side. Erza sat back " so Lucy, I wanted to talk to you about something anyway" This got the girls attention who had begun signing her name on documents, "Yes Erza what is it?" "did you know that your magical energy has been sky rocket for the past few weeks?" that caused the blonde to stop completely what she was doing and look to her older guild mate/ sister in a way " R..really? I didn't know" Erza nodded and noticed something, "Lucy your eyes…" taking off her glasses Lucy suddenly covered them.
"What's going on? Damn… they shouldn't be changing right now?" spoke the blonde, her secret was finally coming out, she had only just told Natsu the night before about everything that was going on and now Erza was about to find out also.
"Lucy, tell me what's going on please, you've been getting me worried for the past couple of weeks, maybe even before that." The guilt began to sink into our young celestial mage, and she looked to Erza cracking " it's hard to explain, but… you know them rumours going around town about the Dragon Host right?" Erza nodded and then looked to the girl in front of her who leaned back, "it's me, I'm that host, I don't know how or why I am but there is a dragon trapped within my body. An at this current moment in time She is training me into becoming the Celestial Dragon slayer" Erza's mouth went to the floor, and eye's went wide, "how do you find the time to train?"
"threw the Astral plain when I sleep, so I'm training even when I sleep. Don't worry Erza I'm fine, Serenity said if she doesn't teach me how to control my new powers that are beginning to show then the Raw power that's been held inside my body would one day kill me, so I do not have a choice in this matter plus I can't stand feeling weak anymore" This made the red haired understand, as Lucy stood up, "For now Erza, just go get some rest ok? I still have some work to do in here before I lay down myself, Natsu is most likely already asleep."
Erza just smiled and shook her head, "why don't I help you out so that you can go snuggle with your little heater earlier?" that made Lucy blush as bright as Erza's hair.
To them unknown, a dark figure was watching the house from a tree outside the mansion, a white grinning smile appeared on the figures face "Found you Dragon Host… you will become our sacrifice…."
Monday soon came around and the whole gang was back at Magnolia high school, most of the hallways was covered in Halloween decorations. One of Lucy's favourite holidays, although she had been slightly disappointed when searching the mansion for any information about the dragon host, she was also able to have a nice relaxing break before going back to high school, Also the group had plans for going on a mission the weekend coming up.
With it being Lucy's first day back at school since her stomach surgery the teachers let her off with any homework that was meant to have been done, even though she had argued with them that she wanted to do it. So she didn't get any special treatment although the teachers loved Lucy, she was one of the best student's in the school, and had high expectations from the young blonde. Natsu said they would also go back to the Heartfilia estate again soon to have another look to see if they could find any information, but it had upset the girl a little that her mother didn't leave any information behind so that Lucy could know the exact reasons on being the Dragon Host. Why her mother had sealed the Dragon inside, in 3 weeks she would be turning 18 an just last night Serenity had told her that the training would only start getting harder. 3 more weeks and she would finally meet the dragon behind the clear lovely voice that had been training her.
At this moment in time though Lucy was stood on the roof of the school, it was Lunch time and she had said to everyone that she needed some air, thinking back to her junior high days the roof had always been her sanctuary where she could think and have peace. Without anyone know where she was until her space had been invaded by her old group. "look girls, seems like someone thinks they can invade our spot!" Lucy didn't even have to turn round to know who's voice that was. "What do you want Jessica?"
"now what's with that cold attitude? We thought we'd come and see how your doing, you just got back from the hospital right?" Lucy turned around and noticed that there wasn't just the three but two males was with them that she knew that didn't even go to the school with them. "what's all this about I know for a fact that you don't give two shits about me and my health, who are these guys that's with you?"
A small spark of magical energy was in the air, making Lucy's eye's harden, "oh these two, they wanted to know if there was any people in the school that could use magic in the world, and we thought of you first since you was able to summon that hot guy" "That guy's name is Loki," one of the guys walked forward, "why thank you lovely girls for bringing us to Miss. Heartfilia, I've heard a rumour that your family's finally come back into power and your on one of the most richest women in Fiora" that made the girls gasp, they hadn't know anything about the Heartfilia family at all, only that they owned the Railway once before losing it all.
"So what if I have, what's it got to do with you?" the man smirked, "I'm surprised you do not recognise me , after all… we was meant to be married by now." That made her eye's widened, "Duke swarr?" (Can't remember his full name! lol) "Well done Lucy, all have to say though I am very surprised that you've come back to finish your high school education up, and you manage to get away with being a high school student, after all your meant to be what? 25 right now?" The three girls looked to Lucy, "Your lying to the whole school! And how do you look so young! Another magic trick?"
Ignoring the girls Lucy looked back to the Duke her father had tried to force her to marry so many years ago, "being trapped on an island for 7 years without aging can do that to you, now tell me what do you want here with me? You must have travelled here for some sort of reason" he just simply grinned "Yes! There is, and I'm not leaving until I have exactly what I want Lucy, Either you come with us and be a little good girl… or.." he clicked his fingers and the three innocent girls was placed into a magic circle, "These girls will pay with their lives," Lucy gritted her teeth watching the girls as they became rather scared, "Why are you wanting me in the first place? The wedding was cancelled!" "Oh my dear! Even though you are a beautiful stunning young woman Lucy, marriage isn't what I want from you… It's that Dragon inside you!"
Her eye's widened, "No! your not getting either me or them girls!" she closed her eye's and a second later, they turned reptile like, "Are you sure you wish to fight me? After all I do have this.." he held up a small brown leather book, on the front of it, it held the words, "Layla heartfilia" "mothers Diary!" he grinned, "yes, it's how I found out about you being the Dragon Host and I know exactly why she implanted that Dragon inside your body! Now are you still willing to fight me or … will you come with me and spare these girls lifes?" closing her eye's, she didn't know if she truly had a choice, it was either go with him to save the three biggest bitches in the school or, stay' fight him and risk their lifes and also the diary that explained on the exact reasons on why she was like this.
"Duke Swarr… my answer is…"
