Week 2
"Mom, Dad," Raph Jr., Hunter, and Hope call, looking to us, "It's been 2 full weeks. Can we go to the surface with you now?" Their eyes widen innocently and look to us.
"Sure," Raph and I reply, looking to each of them. "You three did great these past two weeks."
"Thank you, thank you, thank you," they all exclaim, hugging us.
Hope turns into a wolf without knowing. "What happened? I was just human a few seconds ago!"
"You have the power to shapeshift," I say with widened eyes, "Like me!"
Hunter's shell on his back grows with sadness and jealousy but he doesn't say anything.
"I can't believe this!" Hope's tail wags and she tries to walk but she falls.
"I'll help you with that," I say, looking to the boys and Raph. "Raph, take the boys and Hope and I will meet you three up there soon."
"Sure thing, honey," Raph answers, kissing my cheek and herding the boys to the surface, "DON'T TAKE TO LONG!"
He says that jokingly and I roll my eyes jokingly before turning back to Hope. "Let's take this slow, alright? One pawstep at a time; just do what I do." I help her stand and I lift my right front paw, having Hope mirror my move. Then I put it down a few inches in front of my left one, Hope following my movement. "Now for the back paws, Hope." I lift my left back paw and she follows, putting it down when I do. "Very good! You're getting the hang of it, Hope!"
"Thanks, Mom!" She starts trotting and then running, her fur getting messed up. "Let's go to the surface!"
We both go to the rooftops and I see Raph standing with Hunter and Raph Jr.
"Hey guys," Hunter and Raph Jr. call, rushing to us.
"Hey, honey," Raph says, reaching his hand to me as I turn human, "I see Hope learned how to be a wolf now, huh?" His gaze briefly goes to the now-wolf Hope before turning it back to me.
"Yes she did."
"She has the best teacher," Raph comments, kissing my nose.
