"Is he still depressed?" Erza questioned with a raised eyebrow when she looked at Naruto's room, with Wendy standing next to her with a bottle of water. She had a light amount of sweat on her body, having just come back from a morning run to help increase her stamina. She had decided that she would get stronger as well, because she hadn't seen Naruto the last few weeks so she had little doubt that he was training himself in the woods and only came back to his room to sleep or something. She was sure that was the case, because a training nut like Naruto would only take this newest problem and try ot muscle his way through it like an idiot until he succeeded.

He was her lovable idiot.

"No, I think we went to the guild or the forest to train or something." Wendy said in a sure tone, with Erza looking at Wendy with a raised eyebrow of her own. In the few weeks she hadn't even seen a hint of Naruto at all, and she had planned on making him cry so that the two of them could bond over him letting his emotions out. Sadly, this wasn't the first time Erza had dealt with death, so she knew how to get over it pretty well, or rather, she knew how to grieve without letting it show on the outside that she was in mourning for her lost comrades. She had wanted to teach Naruto and help him through the grieving... well, she was actually pretty sure that Naruto wasnt close to, or even liked, either Happy or Gajeel, more like the fact he was depressed that he couldn't avenge them like he no doubt wanted to.

He was young, and when somebody hurt him, he wanted to hurt them right back more often than not. That wasn't even mentioning that Naruto was no doubt feeling the pressure since it was HIM that the dark king had been after in the first place.

"He hasn't been at the guild in weeks either, and nobody has seen or heard him training. I am checking his room." Erza said with suspicion and worry in her eyes. The last time Naruto mysteriously vanished he almost died, the the time before that he had almost been turned into a slave for little more than his strong body and sperm. He had also almost been killed, like she was almost, by the Black Tiger King that had defeated them and forced them back to their world as the losers of the battle. That was why she gasped when she burst into his room, and she saw nothing at all inside but a letter that was sticking out from under the pillow... no, sticking out of the wall was Naruto's dagger. She ignored the dagger in the wall, and picked up the note straight away. It was in Naruto's handwriting, so that was a good sign.

Dear Fairy Tail,
I can't say enough how sorry I am, ever since I arrive I have been one problem after another for all of you. That is why from now on I am no longer a member of Fairy Tail-

"... No... this isn't happening." Erza whispered to herself as she stopped reading the letter for a short while to gather up her courage and stop the tears that wanted to flow out of her one real eye. She wiped her tears, and Wendy gasped loudly when she read over Erza's shoulder, the knife shaking in her hand at the thought that she just lost her first human... non-cat... bipedial... boyfri... male friend that she was close to. The relationship she had with Naruto was a little complicated since she had a lot of trouble confessing to him her feelings.

"It's not possible, he would never abandon his friends... never." Wendy whispered gently, tears already forming in her eyes as she read the letter. The two of them pushed through in reading the letter through force of will alone.

-and I am leaving Magnolia town to go somewhere that my presence won't hurt any humans. I don't want to hurt anymore of my friends, so I have gone a place where none of you should follow. I won't tell you where, but just know that I am sorry it came to this. I promise that one day, I don't know when, that I will come back. Wendy, as proof, I want you to keep that dagger until the day that I come back for it, as proof that I will come back.

Please don't try and follow me. - Naruto

"That idiot... I am going to tan his hide when I find him!" Erza shouted in frustration, anger overtaking her sadness at Naruto for leaving without even telling them where he was going. These last few weeks had been problem after problem, first this year's S-Class exams had been cancelled so that everyone could mourn the loss of two guildmates. Now they would be waiting a full year before they would be allowed to test people for turning into S-Class Mages. Next year would even be a different place than what had been planned this year, and she had been so looking forward to going back to the island. She had only been once before, and that was to see the grave of Mavis AFTER she had already been made into an S-Class.

Though, with most of the people that would have been taking the exam either injured or in mourning it was unlikely that anyone would be feeling like doing the exam anyway.

"We don't know where he is." Wendy reminded Erza, who crossed her arms and looked at the letter for a second. Wendy was correct, Naruto never gave an exact place for them to track, but he did unknowing leave them clues to find him with. They would need somebody to help them though, somebody that could tell you everything about Naruto and the way he spoke. Sure, the two of them knew him well, but they needed somebody that completely obssessed over him that would be able to find out any clues he had talked about... Juvia.

...

Not a good idea, since Juvia was mourning the loss of her friend Gajeel, they doubted she would be in top condition to help them out at this time.

"Won't harm any humans... won't harm any humans... a place where HUMANS won't get hurt and that we shouldn't follow him?" Erza wondered out loud to herself. As far as she knew, a place like that didn't exist. Humans lived almost everywhere, the only places that you wouldn't find a human would be on the Country of Darkness and the Land of Endless Storms, both of those being labled that for a reason. She wasn't sure which one it was, but when she slapped her own forehead when she remembered that Fanalis, Naruto's race, lived on the Country of Darkness, a place that most humans were killed on sight if they stepped so much as a foot on that land.

They shouldn't follow him, that was a warning that they would risk their lives should they follow him to a place where lifting huge bolders with a single hand was something even pre-teens were able to do easily. She could already attest to how tough an adult Fanalis was, having taken her down even while going easy. Of course, she still had to take Naruto back home from that place. He wasn't about to make some sort of selfish/selfless choice to stay away from them because he felt guilty over the deaths of guildmates, even more so when NOBODY blamed him for their deaths.

"The Country of Darkness!" Wendy shouted when she also realized where Naruto had gone seconds after Erza figured it out, showing that she was very smart for her age. She was even smarter when compared to a fool like Naruto has been acting. The two of them looked pensive for a moment when they realized they really couldn't follow him without a boat that could go long distances, and a team of people that would help them. Wendy knew that she would be useless on the boat, her motion sickness from bathing in the blood of a Dragon and achieving a fully matured state to her powers.

"The Country of Darkness is a 2 week distance by boat... this is troubling. Wendy, go get Juvia, Gray, and anyone that is willing to come along. We are going to bring Naruto back!" Erza ordered loudly, and Wendy saluted out of fear, before she ran out of the house and started to go get to her task. Erza started to look around the room to find anything that would be useful to her in this situation, hoping that Naruto left something behind that they could use to track him by scent. The scent wouldn't help them over the water, but they could use it to find which port he left from.

Erza just lost two of her guildmates, she wasn't about to lose her... student? Son?

She would figure it would later, but she wasn't going to lose him!

Screw what Naruto wanted, she was dragging his him to his home and giving him the worst spanking of his young life when she got her hands on him! She was running out of the apartment and jumped down to the ground, before she saw Wendy running towards her with Elfman, Gray, Lucy, and Juvia training behind her. She nodded to herself at the team that Wendy had gotten them, three strong people and Lucy... for some reason Lucy... why Lucy? Oh well, if Lucy wanted to come then she must have her reasons for coming.

Okay, she had a team ready to go.

Wendy most likely could describe Naruto's scent by memory, so maybe that wouldn't be an issue.

Off to the Country of Darkness, the land of the Fanalis!
