Pokѐmon Journey II: Gwyn's Passage

Chapter 23: Welcome to Kanto

Gwyn's Point of View:

"Ah… those sun rays feel nice… I love that it's starting to warm up." I cuddled into the side of my boyfriend on the roof of my house as the sun was overhead at midday. With winter finally over and spring here in full bloom, the warmer weather was a blessing to have. It normally didn't get as warm as it was right now until another month later when it would near the month of May.

Along with that, I've been champion of the Johto region for almost a few weeks now, but no battles have headed my way, no one's made it to the point of battling Karen and I've never had to be called. Without something to do, things were getting a little boring.

Okay, well not all that boring. I did have my new boyfriend after all; he kept me company most of the time along with my pokemon and my best friend Aaron. The two of them had no other activates to attend like Violet's boyfriend and brother did. After I'd become the champion, they'd all gone back to their home region for some rest and relaxation after all the events that had taken place. Though I still heard from them, it wasn't quite the same.

I spent as much time with my mother as I could now after being almost a year apart. She loved every single one of my pokemon that tended to play a little more roughly around the house. Shelly was the best out of all of them, and my mother took an incredible liking to him. She loved his berry juice that he made inside his shell. She said she would keep Shelly there with her so I wouldn't have to worry about him, and Shelly readily agreed. He liked my mother too, not to mention that all the berries that we had around here seemed to really appeal to him. My mother had also been kind enough to offer Tristan a room to use and stay in as his own until he finds a place of his own or if someone takes him. He'd been so thankful that he made all meals for us for the past week or so. And man… were they all good!

Violet was still working on the search for my Dad, it was great to know that he was alive, but now we actually had to find out where he was, and that was the hardest part. Once he's found, I'll tear down that entire base myself and destroy it until I find him.

Without warning, I suddenly heard my pokegear go off. I blinked and sat up to grab it and looked at the ID, it was Violet. I quickly picked up and placed it to my ear. The boys watched as I did so with such an interest due to the boredom that we've been subjected to.

"Hi Hon! How ya been?" I perked up a bit just with hearing her voice.

"Bored, not much to do being since we've been stuck at home. No events or holidays are coming up soon and no one's called for me over at the Pokѐmon League. No one's in trouble, no reports of Team Rocket… in all honesty we've napping in the sun on top of my roof." I sighed and lay back down, curling into my boyfriend's side.

"Excellent!" I blinked at her choice of words.

"Being bored is a good thing?"

"Of course not!" She scolded me over the line. "But it gives you an excuse to get you out of there and on another adventure!" She paused for a moment, keeping me in suspense. "How does a trip to Kanto sound?"

"Really?" I bolted up and stood before I whistled to my pokemon and they came running. "When do we leave?"

"As soon as you're packed, I'm on the boat right now heading for Olivine port, we'll use the boat route to head back to Vermilion here in Kanto and you can meet on of my old friends, a gym leader and his main fighting pokemon, who also happens to be Amber's father. Oh, and Tristan and Aaron are also invited if they want, tickets on me."

"Oh Violet! That's amazing! We'll be packed and there in less then a couple hours!"

"Alright Hon! See ya in Olivine!" It was then that she hung up and I allowed myself a moment to squeal in delight before I jumped off the roof. Scarlet easily caught me on the top of her head and let me down before I literally started dancing around in excitement.

"Hey Gwyn! What just happened?" Aaron questioned.

"Our boredom is over!" I jumped into the air before running back into my house and grabbing my pack and stuffing full of all the things I'd pulled out when I got home. "Violet's taking us over to Kanto!"

"What?" Both boys flew down into my room by my window which led out the roof we'd just been on.

"When we do leave?" Tristan questioned.

"She's on her way now! We're leaving as soon as we're all packed and say our good-byes!" Both boys scrambled by me and ran to their own rooms to pack. I was already packed and ready and hurried out to the ground level outside and gathered my team.

"We're heading out for a new adventure guys!"

HalloweenWitchHalloweenWitch

My mother hadn't been exactly too happy that I was leaving so soon after I'd come back home, but she knew that adventure was calling my name and planned to look after Shelly should we have gone on another adventure. I'd said my good-bye to her and the professor a while back and we made our way over to Olivine on the back of Aaron's Pidgeot. While riding on the back of that pokemon, we were able to make it in no time at all compared to the few days it would take us on foot.

Once we got into Olivine, we rushed and pushed our way thought the large crowds to make our way to the docks. I quickly saw them come into sight and looked at the small shack off to the side, made of a wood that had a protective coat on them to keep them from during into this and frail drift wood that gets carried by the drift. At that very stand, I saw a woman with dark brown hair and purple highlights. She stood out like a sore thumb and many people were watching her in curiosity.

"Violet!" The woman quickly turned her head and I instantly saw her wide grin appear once she saw us. I rushed up to the woman and a hug awaited me. She crushed the very life out of me and swung me around, but it felt nice to be in her arms again. It was good just to see someone other then the boys and my mother and the professor.

"Hey Hon! Hey Tristan! Aaron!" She held open her arms for them. "Get over here and give me a hug!"

They grumbled a bit at that, but Tristan did move closer to Violet at a walking pace before he entered her arms and stood there to let her embrace him. He wrapped his arms around her too, but not as tightly as she did to him.

"It's good to see you Violet, I'm sorry I haven't called much." He pulled back from her hold. "I wasn't sure what to say."

"No worries." She ruffed up his hair a bit and grinned over at the last of the three of us. "Come on Aaron! Give me a hug or I'll have Chalcedony fly you over here so I can get one!"

"Alright already!" He pouted as he dragged himself toward her and let her hug him. "You don't have to be so forceful."

"With you I do have to sweetie." She laughed at his face he made at her comment. "Now let's get going! Oh you guys are going to love Kanto! And Tristan, you'll re-love it!"

"And why is that Violet?" My boyfriend crossed his arms as he looked at her.

Her grin never faltered. "Because I have a surprise for all of you in Vermilion, especially for you Tristan, but I got a separate surprise for all of you, each different in its own way." She handed us each a ticket and led us back toward the boat she'd come on. "Now let's get going you guys! We need to make it back in time!"

"In time for what?" Aaron crossed his arms.

"You'll see!" She never hinted away at anything as she led us away from Olivine City and to the boat. It was a larger passenger ship that she had us onto and it had a room that we were all apparently sharing until we got to Kanto. But she told us that there were trainers on board who she knew would love to test their strength again a champion and anyone else who loved to battle.

That was music to my ears.

HalloweenWitchHalloweenWitch

It was just about time for the sun to entirely set as we finally arrived in Kanto. It'd been a few hours since when we'd left and it honestly was amazing to feel the temperature change in the regions. Johto was always cold, with the exception of some summer days, but it was much warmer in Kanto. I had changed back into my summer outfit and I'd even had to take off my jacket. Tristan and Aaron had to as well to reveal the lighter shirts they had on under them, but just to feel the difference of temperature in the air was incredible.

Like Violet had said, many trainers were on board and many of them wanted to battle. The boys and I enjoyed many battles on the ship and Violet stood off the background, watching us the entire time and letting us have a good time. At moment I'd questioned why she wasn't battling with others and only just watching us, but then I just left it be, it wasn't my business unless it was really bothering me, bit this was Violet after all, what's there to worry about?

Once we had arrived, it was incredible to jump off the boat and get onto solid land that was surrounded by a warm air. I breathed it all in and took my boyfriend's hand as we excitedly followed after Violet. She led us deep into the port side town that was glittering with its lights in the darker sky and led us inside a large restaurant. It looked to be closed off to the rest of the public for some strange reason and had a closed sign on it, but Violet strolled right inside.

"Violet, is this the right place? It said 'closed' on the door." I questioned the woman who kept leading us on.

"Don't worry Gwyn, I rented the place for the night." She continued walking by without a care in the world, not a worry either. Leading us into the backroom, the woman then disappeared into a dark room in the back, which I assumed was one of the largest rooms in the entire building.

Suddenly the lights flashed on and there was a large crowd of people, not too large, but big enough, a good handful of people we knew well and many others I recognized because of how famous they were, a lot of them were the gym leader's in this region as well as Violet's family and friends.

"Happy birthday Tristan!" Violet shouted out and grinned from before the other people she was with on the other side of the room. She rushed back over to him and gave him another hug before pulling him to the other side of the room with us following quickly after them. "Sorry about such a surprise, but I knew you hadn't celebrated your birthday in who knows how long and it was about time we did!"

"I… have a birthday?" My boyfriend was frozen next to me.

"Yep, says it right on your birth certificate, which you parents had to have done if they wanted to keep their image at the time. That's how we –I mean I- know. " She pulled out a copy of the paperwork and showed it to Tristan. From what I could see of it, the paperwork showed his name and birth date on it, along with the names of his parents and some other information. "You turn fifteen today."

"I…" Tristan was silent as he looked over the piece of paper. He turned his eyes over to look at Violet. "How did you find this?"

"It wasn't hard to find the records; they're public, like all of the things that Giovanni and Rose had to put up with when they were in the spot light of a good gym leader and his wife."

"But what about all these people? Why do you have the gym leaders of the Kanto region here?"

"Sorry, can't say yet other then it's for Gwyn's surprise." She winked over at me and smiled. She then took his arm and began to drag him over to a large food table. "Now come on! Let's go and eat and be merry on your special day! I got you a couple presents and everything!" I quickly followed after the two of them with Aaron and watched as she led him over to a table where many of the gym leaders were eating at. In the center of it was a cake with a large candle with a fifteen on it and 'Happy Birthday Tristan' written on it in blue icing. The cake was covered in a white frosting with blue edges. Violet snapped her fingers and a flame appeared on the edge of her first finger which she used to light the candle.

"Now I know this is your first birthday in a long time, so I'm sorry for this, but we have to sing to you." Tristan's eyes grew wide as saucers as he looked back at her in a near blank stare. She turned back to the ground around her of guests. "Alright everyone, just like we didn't practice! From the top!"

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you!" To my surprise the many voices of the room all joined together as they sang to Tristan. The flush was exceedingly dark red on his face and I leaned down and over his shoulder and took hold of his hand. He looked up to me and I quickly gave him a kiss to his forehead.

"Make a wish and blow out the candle Tristan, its tradition." His eyes trailed away from me to the small flame on top of the candle. He sighed and suddenly took in a breath before he blew out the candle.

"Ha ha!" I looked over quickly to a man that seemed dressed up as a military man in a dark green wives beater, cargo pants, black boots and a set of dog tags around his neck. The spiked blond hair on his head and hard eyes were filled with laughter and joy and leaned his body over Tristan's, effectively scarring him, me and Aaron all at once, and any pokemon we had out with us. "Happy to you! Ya live in a zoo! Ya look like a mankey," he plugged up his nose and walked away to the food table. "And ya small like one too! Ha ha!"

"Surge!" Violet scolded the man and he flinched under her gaze and voice. He turned back to look at her slightly nervously.

"Sorry Vi! Needed a little fun to go along with these good eats you got here for the kid." The man went straight back to eating after Violet released him from her glare.

"So sorry about him, that's one of the gym leaders that came tonight for your surprise Gwyn." Violet shook her head. "His name is Lt. Surge and he's the gym leader of this very town."

"What does that have to do with my surprise? Am I battling him to prove my strength again?" I blinked my eyes at her in confusion and she held up her hand to stop me from speaking again.

"Patience my dear fellow champion, all in due time." She leaned down and gave a soft kiss to Tristan's cheek. "Tristan's birthday comes first I'm afraid."

"Sure, but I wish you would have told me sooner so I could give him a real gift." I huffed out angrily and looked down at the floor.

"Gwyn, I need no physical gift from you." I looked up to my boyfriend and he took my hand in his own. "For you to not only be here and have me this way in your life is enough for me. I could honestly care less if I celebrated my supposed birthday."

"But-"

He sighed and cut me off. "Just don't worry about it this time around, you can spoil me as much as you want when the next holiday or anniversary comes around, but for now, I'm happy with you as my first birthday present." He smiled and gently pulled on my hand so that I turned around and landed in his lap. My arms unconsciously wrapped around his shoulders and I gasped in surprise.

I breathed out a large breathe I'd been holding and leaned into the side of his neck. "Fine, for now." I heard him snort a laugh at that and I could feel him nod.

"Thank you."

"Now, me and the guys got you a couple gifts so we hope you really like them!" Violet placed a small thin wrapped present before Tristan that looked no bigger then a manila folder. "But before you can open it, I want you to meet a couple people first." Tristan and I blinked, along with Aaron next to us as Violet pulled a couple out of the crowd and toward us. It was easy to see the relationship though between the three of them, they harbored many traits that Violet seemed to have in looks and what not, they had to be her parents (not to mention that the man only had one arm, so it was a dead give away.)

"Oh hello sweetie!" the woman gushed over Tristan as she controlled herself not to propel her body over the table and at him, but rather handed him a hand for him to shake. "I'm Ivory Vilmos, Violet's mother," she released Tristan's hand after a good shake or two and then pointed to the one armed man next to her with a wide grin on both their faces. "And this is my husband, Haze."

"Nice to meet you kid," the man also shook Tristan's hand while he spoke. "Violet always seemed to talk about you; it's nice to finally put a face to the name."

"Likewise," Tristan replied. "But Violet's told you of me?"

"How could she not? She's been fretting over you for the past three years since you ran off on her." Her father took a seat across from us and leaned his head against his hand that he had connected to his wife's, who also sat down next to him.

"Violet's always wondered about you and tended to voice her thoughts often; she's always wanted whatever was best for you and would make you happy," Ivory explained to the three of us. "She's always wanted you to have a real family so you wouldn't feel so alone anymore like you had in the past. She wanted you to have a real mother and father that would love and take care of you when you needed them. If it was possible, she'd want you to have siblings, or at least a sibling, that you could relate to and maybe look up to." Ivory looked over at his worriedly. "Does this bother you?"

"No, not at all." Tristan shook his head. "I'm just surprised that she went to such lengths for me. She didn't research families for me or anything, right?"

"Of course not, she only felt that there was one family that you would ever feel comfortable with, and that was our own."

"…what?"

"Our family Tristan," Ivory said nervously to him. "Violet's said how you seem like a brother to her, a younger one that she wanted to protect and help in anyway possible."

Haze shook his head. "From the way she talks about you, I've guessed that she wanted you to really be her little brother since the first time she met you."

"All of us have talked it over, with Vince, with ourselves, with Violet, even Alex, since we know one day the two of them will be married." Violet blushed a few shades of tamato berry red at that.

"Mom!"

"Sorry honey, but its true." Her mother squealed. "Oh I can't wait for my little girl to walk down that isle in a white dress!"

"Mom!" Vince and Alex walked over to us and Vince took the seat next to his father while Alex pulled Violet up from her seat, which was next to her mother, and sat down before pulling her onto his lap. "You're getting off topic and Violet and Alex are going to explode from embarrassment if you keep this up."

"Keep going Ivy, this is hilarious!" Haze whispered to her.

"Dad!" Violet shouted in frustration. She roughly grabbed Alex's hand and suddenly Chalcedony appeared from behind her hair and blasted her father with a shadow ball attack.

All three of us blinked at them in surprise.

"Get on with this you guys or you'll never find out his answer!" Alex snapped at the four of them before more arguing could continue. They all blinked at him in surprise before sighing and turning back to Tristan, who had stilled in surprise under me.

"Sorry about that sweetie, that tends to happen from time to time, it keeps us from getting bored," Ivory said to us. "But what we're trying to say sweetie is, we'd like to adopt you into our family, should you want to." She pointed down at the document before Tristan that he hadn't opened yet. "Inside that package is the paperwork that we wanted you to be able to look over before Haze and I would fill it out, and we'd only do it with your consent if you wanted to be a Vilmos. And if you don't," she took hold of his free hand with her other one. "That's fine, but we'll still be here for anything you want or need."

Tristan blinked at them in surprise before he looked down at the package before he turned to look at me, and to my surprise, Aaron as well.

"You guys, what should I do?"

"I'd take it, but that's just because I like being with people, I don't do well alone." Aaron shrugged. "But it's your choice Tristan."

"I would accept as well if I was in your position." My boyfriend looked up at me. "But that's because of my attachment to those I care about, I love my family and I love being there for them and them the same for me. Tristan, we can't make the decision for you, but in your place, we'd both accept the offer just because after what you've been put through all your life, you deserve it." I kissed his forehead. "You've been without a real family for all your life and here's one that's willing to give you everything you could have always wanted from one, sure you'll fight with them from time to time, but that's what any family does. And another thing," I took his hand that was lying over the paper gently rubbed my thumb over the soft skin. "You didn't have a choice when it came to Rose and Giovanni, they created you and you had no choice, but they were never your family. And now, you have a choice, and you can choose to do whatever you want with it, there's no force here, it's only what you want."

Tristan turned away from me and released me from his hold, while I still held onto him, and opened the package. Once he got past the colored paper and made it to the folder inside, he pulled them out and began to look through the documents. I didn't glimpse at them and instead looked up at the Vilmos family and Alex. They were all patiently, but worriedly, waiting on his decision that would change all their lives, depending on what he decided.

It was silent all around us, even all the party members had remained silent though the ordeal while we waited on my red haired boyfriend for his answer. It was a painful silence; I could feel the adrenaline and desire build up in my chest.

Please Tristan! Please! I felt my breathing get a little more heavy as I was feeling the silent seconds pass much too slowly. Please accept! You deserve this; you have since the day you were born!

"I see…" The room collectively gasped quietly as he placed down the folder, after looking over its contents. "So… Mother, Father, Sister, Brother," all of our eyes widened. "Where do I sign?"

"YES!" Violet screeched and bolted up from her chair, practically hitting the ceiling, before she jumped back down, over the table, and dragged Tristan out from under me to pull him into a crushing hug. "I have a little brother!"

"Awesome!" Vince jumped over the table as well and rushed over to his new brother and grabbed him into a hold and gave him a noggie. "I gotta give you your first treatment of brotherly love!"

"Oww Vince!" Violet snarled out at Vince from Tristan's cry and ripped Vince's arm off him and pulled Tristan into her arms before shoving her foot right up into his manhood. Vince cried out in pain and curled up onto the floor.

"Shit Vi! That hurt!"

"Vincent and Violet Vilmos! Enough of that!" Ivory stomped her way over to them. "You know I don't care for violence and swearing, especially now that you have a younger brother that you should be settling a good example for. I swear you two, I should beat whoever taught you those words!"

"He did it!" The set of twins quickly threw their arms and pointed fingers over at their father and his jaw dropped in surprise.

"Thanks a lot you two." Ivory stomped over to her husband and growled at him as he slowly backed away. "Now Ivy, remember what you just said, you don't want your newest and youngest son to be taught violence and bad words by us and make a bad example for him, so you need to do that as well-"

Ivory cut him off with a kick to his own groin.

"I don't give a fuck, I'm head of this household and damn it, you'll do as I say, not as I do!"

"You go Mom!" Violet cheered before she gave a devilish glint like look to her twin and pulled Tristan into her arms. "You may out number us at three to two now big brother, but Mother will still kick your ass."

"Violet!"

"Sorry Mom, slip of the tongue! Now come hug your new son!" She quickly did, brushing past her husband and son who were rolling on the ground in pain.

"You not going to kick me there either, are you two?" Tristan questioned them worriedly.

"They better not," I snorted as I came up next to him. "I don't get mad often, but I'll be furious if they do."

"Oh calm down sweetie, I would never hit my little boy," Ivory then got a glint to her eyes as she turned back to look at the other males of their family. "Vince and Haze just don't know any better and need to be reminded who the head of the house is at times." She cuddled Tristan into her arms and I saw her take on a serene moment as she held him. "I will admit to you sweetie, if you need to be corrected with a little bit of love, I'll do that, but I'd never out right hurt you. I didn't to them either; they know I'm not that mad."

I looked over to the males in general and watched as Vince got up off the ground. "Yeah, Mom's not the type of person to really hurt anyone, that's Vi's department- Oww! Let go of my ear woman!"

Violet had taken a sudden grab at his ear and the two of them were at it soon again. Ivory and Haze soon joined into the brawl and arguing and the area around them suddenly turned into a giant dust cloud where the large family brawled.

"Alright then, I guess it's my turn then." I turned my head to look over at Alex as he got up from his seat while many of the other guests were laughing at the seen of the four out of five Vilmos'. "Come on you three, we got things to talk about."

HalloweenWitchHalloweenWitch

Alex led us away from the party and up onto the roof of the building that we were on before he finally stopped and looked at the three of us. He sighed out and in the warm night air I could feel the tension that he had set upon him. There was some big news for him to tell us.

"Is something wrong Alex?"

He looked over at me with an almost blank stare before I saw him quickly throw his head to the side, effectively cracking the muscles and stretching them. He moaned at the feeling before doing it again on the other side and then looking back at us.

"Violet asked me to fill you guys in on what was going on if she became preoccupied with something this evening. She filled me in on her latest operation that will be sent into action."

"Does this have anything to do with the surprise she said was for Aaron and myself?" Both of the boys blinked at me, but Alex was surprisingly calm and nodded.

"You always were a sharp one when it came to these things." He shrugged and leaned against the railing. "Yeah, Violet's got a few things planned up, and she found out a few things too."

"What does this have to do with us?" Aaron questioned him harshly.

"It mostly has to do with Gwyn to be honest, but Violet decided to be nice and include you as well." Alex rolled his shoulders before he pushed himself off the wall and walked up before me, only a few inches from my body.

"Don't you dare do anything to her!" Tristan snarled as he tried to come between us, Alex was pushed back, but he stood strong and hardly fumbled.

"Like I'd do anything, I have a girlfriend that I very much would like to stay together with forever if you don't mind." He pointed at me. "I just wanted to make sure she didn't

collapse if the information was too great for her."

"What information?" The boys handed their attention back to me. "Tristan, please, let him tell me. I want to know if Violet deems it important." He growled lightly, but quieted down and hurried over to myself. He put a solid hold on me and I held back onto him. Aaron took to standing on my other side should Tristan need any help.

"Gwyn, Violet has found solid information that both Team Rocket and your father are back here in Kanto."

My breathing hitched and my eyes widened as I felt the atmosphere heavy. Both of the boys worriedly looked back at me and Tristan held me tighter, Alex's previous action entirely forgiven or forgotten.

"But… how?" I felt my body moving on its own accord when it began to shake in worry.

"A short while ago, but Violet didn't reveal it, or have me do that, until now because she wanted to make sure it was true, and now we do know that it is." Alex groaned and grabbed something from his pocket, which ended up being his pokegear. "We found some Rocket grunts running all around the region, especially during your day of coronation as the new Johto champion. But," he pulled up a picture on his pokegear before he gazed back up at me. "Violet wanted to make sure he was here first before she would get you all worked up and what not, and she did, she actually saw them moving him to a new location. Here's the video." He handed me his pokegear and I watched as it was focused in on a large group of grunts moving through the woods. Rose was there, and so was her two only admins right now that weren't captured or dead, along with a few other grunts and in the center, my father. He barely got to turn his head, showing part of a dull and emotionless expression, before the clip ended and it turned black.

"What happened at the end?"

"Violet said that Rose's gengar almost caught onto her. She had to leave before she was seen."

"Why didn't she save my father then?"

"It was too dangerous, and he could have gotten taken off again or killed. Violet left it be for now so we'd have a better chance of saving him rather then charging right in dangerously. Violet would have been faced by Rose while her admins and the grunts would then run off with your father and then he'd be moved to a new location even further away, not even in Kanto anymore. She watched them head off in the direction of north, but with the grunts we've been seeing running around the entire region, it's hard to pin point yet a solid location."

"How is this a surprise for me then? Violet gave off the impression that it was good!"

"I know she did, and in a way, what she has planned is." I blinked at him in confusion. "Violet has a plan to get the two of you all over Kanto without Team Rocket really regarding it too heavily. She's having you face the gym leaders here in the region not only to prove your strength some more, but also to investigate some of the Rocket operations around that may lead to where they stashed your father."

"What about me?" Aaron questioned worriedly.

"You'll be doing all the undercover and dirty stuff with Vince and me. We've got undercover contacts right now that have snuck into her organization, but have been rarely able to give us any information. We're soon planning to get that information from him when he's out on an undercover civilian mission and then we'll be striking all Team Rocket operations while decoding an encrypted map of their place, and its location."

"Cool." Aaron crossed his arms.

"And what does that leave for me to do?" Tristan questioned him next.

"That's up to you." Alex could only shrug at him. "You've got three ideal options in my opinion: the first, get to know your new parents and stay with them until this blows over; the second, help out Vince, Aaron and I with the undercover and sabotage work, the third, go with Violet and Gwyn and help them out on the front lines with whatever she has them set out to do, and I know that's to destroy a base or two from the way Violet was almost about to crush me last night." He showed us his hand where I saw marks of where a bruise must have been from the faded purple color; it looks like he'd take some healing abilities to it to help him out with the pain. "Of course she didn't mean it and apologized right after, but I never really cared." He sighed with a light grin on his face. "I love her for being herself and expressing it, never shying away."

"I think I'd rather be out on the front lines with my sister and girlfriend, so I can at least make sure they don't hurt themselves in the process of whatever Violet has planned."

Alex's eyes widened. "You sure? Violet didn't expect an answer until tomorrow."

"I'm sure." I smiled up to Tristan and he gave me a small one back. We wouldn't be separated this time around, that was good.

Alex gave in then with a sigh. "Whatever, it is your choice after all." He then turned his eyes to me. "Now Gwyn, your first match will be held tomorrow. You're going to be against Lt. Surge that you saw tonight. He uses electric pokemon, though he tends to use his riachu only, which also happens to be Amber's father. You'll only be allowed to use a single pokemon in these matches to make it more challenging…"

HalloweenWitchHalloweenWitch

"Gwyn!" I heard a pounding on a wooden object that disturbed me from my slumber. "Time to get up! You have a match against Surge to win!"

I curled deeper into the covers and ignored her. Go away Violet, I'm still tired…

But her noise would not go away. I groaned and turned over into the warmth of my boyfriend who'd been kind enough to stay with me during the night. He was up now, I knew that, he was an early pidgey after all, but I was so tired compared to normal, that I wasn't able to get up with him.

Aaron's snoring could be heard off in the distance and compared to the continuous banging on the door; it was a familiar noisy lullaby. I tried to curl back over and into the sheets of warmth, but the persistence was the only thing that kept me awake, constantly causing more noise at higher levels the more it was ignored.

"Alright, just hang on a moment…" I twisted my head off to the side and watched as my boyfriend appeared from the bathroom in only his pants and a towel around his shoulders when he opened the door. I couldn't see the woman's face from how tired I was and where I was trying to rest, but I could still hear her and Tristan as they talked.

"What the hell Violet?" Tristan yawned as he talked to his new sister. "The others aren't even up yet. Couldn't you have come maybe an hour or so later? It's only five-thirty. There's no hope to get Aaron up if that's also what you're here for."

"If I needed Aaron for some reason, I would just grab him and throw him over my shoulder and take him as is, and he can be left to suffer because he didn't get up when I called. But I'm not here for him; I'm here for your girlfriend. She's got a match at the Vermilion gym at six."

"Six! You expect my girlfriend to be up and ready and over there in half an hour?"

"I thought she'd be already up."

"After last night? You really thought she'd be up? We were up until almost one! I don't even know how you're up!"

"The power of a persistent and stubborn mind dear little brother. That's how." She yawned herself and stretched from the cracking of her muscles I could hear. "Besides, it's not like I want to be up either, but Surge is a hard prick and wanted to battle Gwyn at six on the dot. It's the damn military that got to him."

"Tell him to change the time. You're the champion, damn it."

"Even Surge will only listen so much to me." I heard her sigh. "You're lucky I was able to talk him out of having one right after the party at two in the morning, when you were practically dragging her back here and I had Aaron over my shoulder with them both knocked out."

"But Violet-"

"I'm sorry Tristan; I can't do anything differently about this. I'll bring her back here to rest after her match, I promise, but I need her up, her time is now down to twenty five minutes."

"I hate you so much right now." I groaned as I sat up in the bed and I looked at the two of them under my heavy gaze. I might normally be a good-natured person, but if I'm without my sleep for a long time, I'm ugly.

"Good to see you up Gwyn-"

"Shut up." I snorted and rolled out of bed, landing painfully on the floor when my back hit it.

"Look what you've done…" Tristan shook his head and backed away.

I used the bed to help me to my feet. I slipped on my sandals and walked toward the door. "Shocker! Let's go!"

I heard the pokeball open behind me and my electric pokemon came lumbering out. I could hear the growling under his breath as he grabbed his pokeball and handed it to me before we pushed past Violet.

"You're going out like that?" My tired eyes with black circles under them glared at her with a passion I'd never felt before. "Never mind. Let's head over there so you can fry his ass and then I'll bring you back to sleep some more, hm?"

"Ugh." I lumbered in the hallways with my grumpy pokemon next to me.

Violet led us a short distance away from the gym without saying a word to me. She knew I was pissed, but now my energy wasn't being used to be mad at her. She didn't do anything wrong, she tried her absolute hardest to try and chance the time for me so I wouldn't have to go so early, but this hard butt Surge wouldn't listen or agree with her. I had a bone to pick with him, and it wasn't going to be pretty.

Shocker was about the same as myself at the moment. He was even uglier, but at least he would get the chance to get rid of some of that horrible pent up anger and energy. He growled the entire way down to gym. Tristan had also come with us, but he decided to be quiet as well, worried over making me even angrier.

We made it to the gym at six on the dot with me not bothering to change out of my night clothes of a strapped shirt and shorts. During the walk over, I'd felt Tristan playing around with my hair and smoothing it out a little bit to help and he messaged my shoulders.

"Don't do that Tristan, as much as I love it, I want to be royally furious when I face Surge." He retracted his hands and sighed as he moved himself off to the side and settled for walking next to me instead. I'm sure he would have grabbed my hand if he had the option, but he didn't want me to be mad at him, which I doubt would have happened, but he wasn't sure and did what he thought anyway.

Shocker shoved open the doors to the gym, with the furious strength that he had, and walked in with us walking after him. The lights were all on in the gym and we were easily led over to where a gym area was. I stood in the trainer box on the opposite side and crossed my arms while spewing a few words under my breathe that we as close to swears as I'd even get, but soon turn into them if this man didn't hurry up.

Soon a booming laughter echoed in the halls of this place until I saw the man I was looking for, along with two pokemon. A pikachu and a raichu came in with him, the pikachu climbed up onto the raichu's back. The pikachu actually looked quite tired as the larger pokemon below it carried it in.

"Great to see ya! Ten hunt soldier!" The man took a stand in the opposing trainer box on his side of the field. He chuckled as he watched that I was still in my bed time clothing. "Good to see you're up and at it, even if you didn't have much time to change! Ha ha!"

"Uh… Surge?" Violet gently called out to him nervously from the other side of the field.

"What? Can't you see that I'm about ready to-" he cut himself off when he took a real look at my face since the first time I set foot inside here. I know my eyes were beat read in anger and tiredness, not to mention the thick black line below my eyes where they hung in tired bags.

"You know how I am when I'm pissed right?" Violet rubbed the back of her head as she gently pulled the arm of her younger brother to the stands where she called out Amber and had her sit on her lap for protection against the soon to be flying electrical attacks. "Well, she's furious…"

I saw the man just barely visibly flinch at the sight of me before his pokemon quickly took the sleeping female on its back over to the strands with Violet. She took the pokemon into her arms before Surge's raichu made its way back over to where its trainer was and it stood before him, ready to battle, though one look at my pokemon who was just as angered as I was, was enough to send shivers down the pokemon's spine.

"Maybe I should have planned this a little later…"

"Unthoughtful jerk." I snarled and my pokemon growled heavily at them.

I heard him sigh. "Oh well, no turning back now." He looked to his pokemon before back at me. "Name's Surge kid, and I'll be battling with Raichu. Hope you're ready to lose!"

"Whatever." I snorted that time and crossed my arms angrily in my haze of hatred. "Start it off Shocker! Charge beam!" Though furry, Shocker sent out a beam of electricity from his mouth at the enemy pokemon that just barely had enough speed to dodge it before Shocker was chasing after him in rage. "Now use mega punch!"

My pokemon raced after the large electric mouse pokemon and it leaped out of the way of a blow that was directed at it that hit the wall instead. It shattered into little tiny pieces and scattered all over the place, some flying into the stands and just barely hitting the others were it not for Violet's wings that emerged and protected them.

Shocker chased back after the electric type as I leapt up into the air to avoid another punch that would be thrown at it. This one his the ground and it shattered as well, the battlefield then turned into that of a single area fissure. Pieces of the ground jumped out of it and rose almost all the way up to the ceiling while others sunk down below by a good few twenty feet or so. The rocks didn't stop Shocker though; he kept plowing and destroying every one of them to get at that raichu.

"Hurry up and hit it already with you mega punch attack too Raichu! Then after it go in for an iron tail attack!" Surge called out to his fleeing pokemon that finally got a grip. It spun around on its feet and sped at Shocker with its fist lit up with white energy just like my pokemon.

"Combination Shocker! Mega and thunder punches!" Right before the pokemon could hit my own, both of Shocker's fists lit up, one with pure white energy and one with electricity and strands of bolts that bounced off and around it. Shocker threw on of his fists forward just as the other poekmon was aiming for him as well the two hit, crashing into one another before the raichu's was thrown back, shoved out of the way just in time for Shocker to blast through with a thunder punch to the face. The force of the punch through it back into the back wall and Surge had to duck from the pieces of wall and ceiling that came flying out at him.

The pokemon still managed to walk out, however, not without any injuries that is. Anyone could see the damage it had taken, but there was still a bit of the battle left to go, the raichu had yet to give up and Shocker wasn't though taking it out and getting revenge yet.

There was a price to pay for not allowing us the few hours of sleep we desperately needed.

Shocker didn't give the pokemon a chance to recover before he was over at the wall with a fist raised to strike again. The pokemon jumped out of the way and continued to run, knowing the pokemon would be right on its tail. It was right to assume so when Shocker chased after it and made a grab for its tail that was swinging wildly behind it.

"Now Raichu! Use iron tail right behind you!" The pokemon obeyed and its tail became a silvery color before it flung backward and hit Shocker square in the face and sent him flying back into one of the rocks that had shot out of the ground.

"Single beam!" The multicolored beam of bug ability came flying out of where Shocker landed and headed for the electric pokemon that was breathing heavily. It screeched and ducked out of the way just for the beam to hit the rock behind it. The rock exploded and scattered everywhere.

"Get it! Take it out!" I howled in rage and my pokemon obeyed instantly, feeling the same emotion and I saw its ears spark before it let loose a thunder attack that struck the pokemon before extending out to all other areas of the gym. Surge and Violet had to duck with Tristan hiding under the seats and the pokemon also hiding.

The ceiling finally couldn't take it any longer and it collapsed a top of the entire battlefield. It crashed down and a piece was about to fall on me, but Shocker raced over and started to punch at them while standing as a guardian for me on my side. He growled and glared at the other side, waiting for someone to rise.

Surge was quick to push any of the rubble off of him and he hurried over to where his pokemon had been hidden below the rubble. He pulled it back and looked inside before pulling out a defeated raichu.

When I saw that the match was over, my body then seemingly gave out. My eyes rolled into the back of my head in tiredness and I felt the floor fly out from under me. I heard some people shout my name, but I was gone.

I yawned when I woke next. That was such a weird dream I had, no one's crazy enough to face me when I don't have any sleep… I stretched from bed and saw how late it was at almost eleven. Man, I must have been tired…

"Oh good Gwyn, glad to see you got plenty of rest." I saw Violet stick her head into the room. She opened the door all the way and quickly slipped in and sat on the bed next to me. "Sorry about this morning by the way, but at least you won your match and we all got a few more hours of sleep after that. You seem a lot better now by the way."

"Eh?" I blinked at her. "What are you talking about Violet?"

"You mean you don't remember what happened?" Violet questioned me worriedly. "You faced Surge earlier this morning all mad like because he made you go down there at six-"

"Oh my goodness!" I gasped. "I battled with Surge while I was angrily sleep walking?"
