Pokѐmon Journey II: Gwyn's Passage

Chapter 24: Gym Battles & an Idiot

Gwyn's Point of View:

After a couple days of searching back in Vermillion for any leads on Team Rocket or Rose and coming up empty, Violet suggested that we move on to the city to the north, Saffron. Violet had mentioned that it was a city that a large, city-wide capture had taken place by Team Rocket three years ago, but she and the boys were able to stop them in time to save everyone. Since it was where only an operation was taking place and not where a baser was located, Violet seems to think it would be possible area for some sort of establishment that would have been created.

After we were all rested up and had said our good-byes to Aaron, Alex and Vince; Violet, Tristan and I packed up and headed off north along the route. She seemed to remember a lot that took place in this route, where she actually had to be carried by Amethyst when she was a charmeleon due to Violet being so tired. I laughed at that story, but she didn't seem to mind it since it brought back good memories of her journey as a trainer her first year. She said she had only two badges back then.

Once we arrived in Saffron, Violet quickly took us over to where apparently the gym was where the apparent leader, Sabrina Sibyl, lived. From the basic information that Violet gave me, Sabrina was a psychic type trainer who would most likely use her most powerful pokemon, Alakazam. Other then that, she gave me no other information since I had to face her by my own means, not from information that Violet had gathered from her own battles with that woman.

Violet walked us up to a gym where there seemed to be no door. A man was waiting before the wall and looked up at Violet when she approached. "Ah… Miss Vilmos, how good to see you again."

"Nice to see you too." She said the apparent monk looking like man. "It's been quite a while since I've been here, hasn't it?"

"Yes, I would think so." The man bowed his head. "I believe the last time you stepped foot here was when you came for the Halloween party Sabrina had been made in charge of here a year or so ago."

"Oh yeah, I remember that…" Violet snickered. "Blaine managed to get drunk and started leaping all over the place before Sabrina used her powers to throw his body into the ceiling before she left him there to suffer from that huge hit to his head."

"Yes, she was laughing about it for a good few days. " The monk bowed his head. "I presume you wish to step inside?"

"Yes, actually, all three of us and our pokemon please. I believe Sabrina is expecting a battle with my dear Gwyn here before we search around the city."

"That she is." He began to glow this strange light blue color. "Miss Erika of the Celadon gym is also here."

"Really?" Violet snickered. "Saves me the trouble of having to go down to Celadon then. Awesome! Let us in please."

"As you wish, Champion." The glow became brighter and all of a sudden the outdoor landscape was gone and we were inside the closed off building. Inside were two women talking to one another, the first was a tad older than the first with darkish blue hair that was loose around her head and gently flowed even without the wind. She wore a set of white capris and a pink strapped shirt that was cut off above her lower stomach, showing off that skin. Her eyes were a hard color of onyx, but they seemed soft as they talked to the other woman next to her.

The younger woman was actually a bit shorter than the first and seemed more polite then the first. She had medium length black hair that she held back with a red headband and she wore a yellow kimono dress that had a bow that matched in color with her head band. Her eyes were very soft as she and the other woman conversed until they widened in surprise and looked over at us.

"Violet!" The younger of the two females cheered and stood from her seat. "Oh it's so good to see you again!"

"Nice to see you too Erika, I wasn't expecting to see you here though." The younger of the woman embraced Violet happily. She released the woman and looked back at me. "Gwyn, Tristan, this is Erika Haruhi, the leader of Celadon City who uses grass type pokemon." She bowed to us. "Great timing too Erika, saves me the trouble of heading off to Celadon, not like I wouldn't want to go, but my plate's overloaded."

"Oh I know that Violet, which is why I came over to give my report to you and thought I would battle Gwyn in a tag team battle with Sabrina."

"Oh… now that sounds good!" Violet grinned back at me. "Gwyn, we'll do that, and you can use two pokemon with this battle, but I still want that to be as many as you use, and you'll use them at the same time."

"You mean I'll be facing off in a double battle?"

"You've done one before, when you faced off against the boys back in the Victory Road. Granted you've never faced a gym leader in a double battle, but I think it will be good experience for you. Erika and Sabrina work well together, so it will be hard to match with the two of them."

"Anyway, before we get started with that Violet," our attention was brought back to Erika. "I wish to make my report of Team Rocket in my city, while they had been seen around the time of when Gwyn was crowned champion, other than that, I've had no trouble with them, nor have they taken up their old base or tried to build a new one. The Diglett and Dugtrio squads have been checking constantly underground and have come up with nothing."

"The same goes for me Violet, my city's been checked every day since even before the crowning of the Johto champion." We looked over to the other woman who made her way over to us, Sabrina Sibyl. "Nothing had been found, no matter where we look. Silph Co. is clean and all other places too. Nothing's here."

"Wow, thanks a lot you guys." Violet sighed as she sank to the floor. "That leaves only seven cities and towns left to check…"

"Seven?"

"Yeah," Violet groaned. "We still have to go and check Pallet Town, Viridian City, Pewter City, Cerulean City, Lavender Town, Fuchsia City, and Cinnabar Island. Sometimes it's hard work being a champion…"

"Even your home town?"

"We have no idea where these guys are at the moment Gwyn, other than they're in my region. We gotta check every corner of it."

"So then we should start this battle then so we can check those other sections." Tristan cut in. "Should we not?"

"No, you're right little brother, let's get started." Violet looked over at Sabrina. "Would you mind setting us at the battlefield Sabrina?"

"Not at all."

With another flash of color that appeared over the woman's body, surprisingly a bright pink color, and then we ended up out of the sitting room the girls and us had previously been in and now we were on a battlefield. Violet took a stand with Tristan at the center to watch while Sabrina and Erika waited on the opposite side of me.

"This will be a two on two battle; Erika, leader of the Celadon gym and Sabrina, leader of the Saffron gym against Gwyn Jalen, champion of the Johto Pokѐmon League and region," Violet said to us. "Both gym leaders will be allowed one pokemon and Gwyn, two pokemon to match." Violet threw out her hand before her. "Begin!"

"Go Alakazam!" The psychic pokemon that Violet had guessed I would be facing emerged from Sabrina's party.

"Let's go Tangrowth!" To my surprise (since I didn't know what kind of grass pokemon I'd be facing, let alone I didn't think I'd even be facing Erika until later today or tomorrow) her pokemon came out to be one I'd never seen before, but it looked quite a bit like a tangela. It was quite large and hard dark caribbean blue colored vines that covered, or made up, its entire body. It had long fingers that were edged pink for good jabbing and punching ability and I could just barely see its eyes hidden behind all the vines.

I pulled out my pokedex to look up this pokemon.

Tangrowth, the vine pokemon and the evolved form of tangela though the learning of ancient power. When it remains still, it appears to be a large shrub. Unsuspecting prey that wander near get ensnared by its vines. Its vines can grow so profusely that, in the warm season, you can't even see its eyes. There are no known tangrowth nests in the region.

I raised my eye brow at this pokemon. Never have I seen anything like it, it looks like a grass powerhouse!

I heard Violet whistle off to the side. "Oh boy… I didn't know that pokemon could evolve…" She pulled out her own blue pokedex and started looking over and gathering information on it while I looked back to my battle.

"Alright then… let's go Sunrise! Ticky!" I threw out the pokeballs to my two pokemon and they came flying out. Sunrise was grinning as she looked at her opponent, the Alakazam that stood a good six feet over her. Ticky was then left with the strange pokemon of tangrowth, not that she seemed to mind at all.

"Alright then, Tangrowth start out with vine whip!" Erika's attack came quickly as vines raced from the body of the tangrowth and wrapped themselves around Ticky. She cried out as they constricted her.

"Surnise! Help her out of there and then use shadow ball on both of them!" Sunrise grinned as he power over the mind flooded and almost took out the mind of the grass type pokemon there and then as Ticky managed to wiggle free then and Sunrise disappeared on the field and up into the air where she was using her abilities on herself to levitate and then fired a barraged of shadow balls at both of the opposing pokemon. The grass pokemon took the hit, but the psychic one teleported out of the way. "Now bite it!"

Sunrise vanished and once the opposing psychic pokemon returned onto the field, Sunrise appeared behind it with a glint so powerful in her eyes, I almost thought I could see them glowing evilly with red color. She leaped forward and chomped down her teeth on the pokemon and it cried out in pain. It tried to throw her off, but she wouldn't budge.

"Don't let it get to you Alakazam! Use a combination of thunder, ice and fire punches to get it off!" Sabrina called out. The pokemon did just as so and rushed out to hit Sunrise, but she used her teleport attack quickly enough that she would end up on another place on its body and latch on again with her sharp teeth that roughly tore into its skin. It cried out in pain and while I knew it'd be taken care of for the moment, I turned my eyes back to Ticky and the grass type pokemon.

To my surprise, the grass pokmeon was still somewhat stunned by the last attack that Sunrise had laid on it and Ticky was using the time to look at some sort of light that was coming up from the ground on the field. When I looked closer, it was a stone that seemed to be a transparent white color with a bright shining yellow spot in the center. She slowly flew toward it and looked at it carefully before she reached her arm toward it.

"Ticky! What are you looking at? We're in the middle of a battle!" She briefly glanced back at me before looking back at the stone and reaching forward to touch it.

It was at that moment that I saw her body light up like a light and a white veil overcame her body. I watched as she grew to a huge size to maybe about two thirds of the size of the bird pokemon I normally see, like that of fearow and pidgeot. The spikes on her head grew in size, but reduced in number to three and I saw her legs almost entirely disappear and her arms did, becoming her large wings. When the light faded I saw as her colors appeared. Of the spikes that were still on her head, one of them remained white while a red one and a blue one appeared. The small triangles of color still appeared on her large chest and her white color was still that of a darker white.

"Toge!" She cried out with an even more beautiful voice than before, a bit deeper, but not by much. She elegantly flew in the air and flapped her newly large wings before she grinned and dived before swinging up again for fun. "Toge!"

I quickly pulled out my pokedex to see information about Ticky's new form. Togekiss, the jubilee pokemon and the evolved form of togetic thought a shiny stone. As everyone knows, it visits peaceful regions, bringing them gifts of kindness and sweet blessings. There are no known togekiss nests in this region.

"Oh my Lugia… Ticky? You evolved again?" I gasped as I looked out onto her new form where she was actually more flying type then she was normal now. She'd turned into a bird shaped pokemon that I could actually fly on should I want or need to. I bet she'd like that.

"Oh boy…" I watched as Erika cringed at my newly evolved pokemon. She was having a bit of a hard time just with this battle alone, now she's at an even harder disadvantage to herself.

"Alright then Ticky! Let's take that pokemon out! Go on and use one of your new attacks! Sky attack!" Ticky cheered in her new form, jumping up and down in the air, and she suddenly threw her body up into the air before she dived down and hit the tangrowth. After she hit it, she threw herself back up in the air and repeated the process multiple times as the pokemon was thrown all over the place and Erika was left speechless with her hands held over her mouth in shock.

Her pokemon was suddenly airborne and thrown before Erika's feet. She dropped to her knees and the pokemon's head easily slid right into her lap.

"On…only one attack…?"

"Wow…" I suddenly heard a noise to the side and I looked over at the other battle between the two psychic pokemon, which was now about to become a two on one battle. "Alright Ticky, Sunrise, combined your attacks of ancient power and shadow ball to take that last pokemon out!" My pokemon did just that. Sunrise teleported away from her struggling prey and teleported onto Ticky's head before the two of them both let loose the attacks and hurled them at the alakazam. It covered its face in order to protect itself and suddenly it was thrown into the wall from the force of the attack. I watched it fall from there and Sabrina watched in horror as her pokemon was defeated by the combined efforts of my two pokemon.

"To be bested so easily… it's been a while since that's happened to me." Sabrina looked over at Violet when she said this before she nodded and returned her pokemon, Erika doing the same. "Never the less, you beat us both fair and square Gwyn Jalen, you are exactly what Violet would need for a partner, someone just as powerful as herself, but also a bit more tame when it comes to how you act." Sabrina smiled at me.

"I have to agree as well, and even if your pokemon hadn't evolved during the battle, I believe it was evident who would win." Erika noted as she got to her feet. "Having your togetic evolve into a togekiss was just luck on your part my dear. Not that I'm sure you minded at all. Their attacks were quick and quite powerful, I could almost feel the blows that both of them were forcing upon us." She smiled and tilted her head. "I'm glad I got to battle you!"

"As am I, here." Both woman approached me and handed me each a badge.

"Oh that reminds me! I forgot to give you Surge's badge for defeating him the other day!" Violet hurried over and handed me a third badge, that of the marsh, rainbow and thunder.

"Cool, three gym badges in one day." I grinned over at my two pokemon out. "Not bad, right you guys?" Both of my pokemon nodded and hurried back over to me. Ticky landed next to me, thrusting her head into my chest, while Sunrise jumped up onto my shoulders and relaxed there.

"So where to now?" Tristan questioned Violet.

"Well…" Violet hummed for a moment as she tapped her chin lightly with her fingers. "I figure that there is a possibility that Team Rocket may not be in Cerulean City, so we'll widen our search to other corners, but it still is wise to check there. I've yet to hear a report from Misty."

Erika snickered behind her hand. "That poor young girl is probably off with another man again on the cape; don't be shocked if you find her there Violet."

Sabrina shook her head. "That girl…"

Violet sighed. "Well, not everyone's perfect ladies, and one day she'll find the right one."

"Yeah, and make out with him right in front of us." Sabrina snorted. Erika nodded and laughed loudly behind her hand.

"Yes, that's probably what she will do!" Violet laughed a bit with them while I put my new badges into a new case Violet had given me and we she patted my shoulder. "But we should probably get going. It was great to see you two again!"

"Likewise Violet!" Erika called out happily while waving her hand. "Please remember to come over to the flower show in a few months if you can! I think you'll be amazed at what the girls put together for the holiday!"

"I will Erika! Promise!" Violet grinned back over at Sabrina. "So can I assume you'll be hosting the Halloween Party in the fall again?"

"Ugg…" Sabrina sighed, but did nod to the champion of Kanto.

"Yes! I get to see Blaine drunk again!" Violet laughed again and moved away from them. "Alright, I'll take these guys and go, see ya!"

"Bye Violet!" I only heard Erika call back to us as we were teleported back outside.

"The battle looked fun." I jumped and screamed when the monk suddenly appeared behind us as we were let back outside. I latched onto Tristan and he held back onto me, though not with as much of a grip as I was using, for sure.

"It was, it was…" Violet calmed her laughing down and gave him a wave. "Later! I'll see you the next time I come back into town!"

I never heard a reply as Violet pulled us toward the northern end of the city and called out her own flying types. She climbed onto Amethyst and grinned down at us.

"Alright, let's get on the road and give that little new flier some practice with flying with a person!"

HalloweenWitchHalloweenWitch

Violet had herded me and Ticky during her first flight with me on her back. Ticky's movements were a bit wild due to the new weight of her own body and that of my own, but Violet said it was a good beginning process, just for a short while, for her to experience me on her without her really practicing with her new form first. After a minute or two of it (while on our way to Cerulean mind you) Violet pulled me off of Ticky and had her fly on her own. She seemed to do much better like that and when we almost were at the northern city, Violet had me get on again. Ticky struggled just a tad under the weight, but seemed to adjust within a few minutes. Violet warned me that it would take a short while for her to get used to carrying me in the sky and flying, but it was easily doable with practice and patience.

We finally made it to the city of Cerulean after only an hour or so and Violet had us land in the heart of the city, the pokemon gym. The city was surrounded by rivers that only had a few miles to travel before reaching the sea, a short distance away from here, if you follow the correct paths. The gym itself seemed to be water based, which is what Violet told me Misty Brooke (the gym leader) tended to use for a type of pokemon that she specialized in. She herself was also immersed in water based sports of all kinds and apparently tended to change men like clothing, but she wasn't a bad person, just couldn't find the one, like I had. At that thought I unconsciously grabbed Tristan's hand just for a little extra comfort. He looked over at me for a moment, but let it slide and had me follow him and his sister inside the gym.

Violet went in first. She had told me earlier on that since Misty was on dates all the time, it was normal to find her not at her gym, but she was willing to try anyway. Upon opening the doors, I saw that there was a large pool for a battlefield with two large floating masses for non water pokemon to use for something to step on. Apparently a few modifications had been made since Violet had last been here and lanes had been added so competitions for swimmers could be held here.

As soon as Violet grasped a look around the pool and saw nothing, she shrugged her shoulders and put her hands around her mouth like a megaphone. "Misty! You here?"

Something suddenly shot out passed us at a blinding speed, slamming its way into Violet and stunning her and her pokemon, before rushing at me. I gasped, my mind and eyes went into overdrive to decipher what was before me. With my fast processing brain and advanced perception, I saw that the thing that raced by us was actually that of a human, dressed in black mostly with an overcoat over them, it was also male from the size and shape of the body, not to mention the height. One color stood out against him though, it was a bright red color, one that I easily recognized, as well as the letter 'R' on his chest, under that jacket.

"Violet!" I cried out as the man flew by us and out of the gym. "He's a member of Team Rocket!"

Those were the only words I really had to say before Violet eyes turned their amethyst color from her changeling form and she leaped backwards and after him as the man sprinted out of the gym and took off. I let the power of fire overtake me from my only form I knew how to change into, that of Cynder's fire form, and raced after her. My speed had increased and with me running on all four of my limps, I was able to keep up with Violet who glided and raced trough the sky on her maroon and purple-gray wings.

She dived at the bridge that led to the north-most coat and edge of this region that was separated by a river that flowed all the way down to the sea near Vermillion. People screamed and jumped away from Violet in her current state of mind as she looked in the crowds for him. I jumped over the mass of people who somehow managed to bunch together and run at the same time and I helped her look around. Her vision was still somewhat flawed compared to my own. I could still pick up on the other small details that she couldn't, or I could pick up on them clearer.

I guess that meant I was going to turn out to be Violet's extra set of eyes in the future…

I suddenly saw a flash of black out of the corner of my eye, and I raced to look. The shaded figure had submerged himself within the sea of people that were racing to stay out of Violet and my way. I looked over at Violet and she caught my eye before I flashed a quick look to where the man was, and Violet nodded. With a quick leap into the air, she rose above to finally catch his figure with her eyes before she swooped down and latched onto him with her claws. He let out a petrified scream and Violet dragged him above and into the air, showing who he was to all the people who were still around.

"Citizens of Cerulean, I beg of you to please return to your homes and avoid this northern route for a short while of just this night while I deal with this Rocket scum and am certain that no others roam your innocent streets." With a short speech made to her own people, who were only seconds ago frightened of her appearance and how she was attacking the other man and the area around them, suddenly turned back in screams of rage and fury before throwing things at the man that she held in her grip. Violet let them have their moment of rage where things were thrown at him (words and objects) before the people started to disperse to the south of this location and Violet dropped down to the then empty ground.

"You have some things to be telling us here asshole." Violet seethed at the man within her changeling form with a backup to boot of a growling Chalcedony and Amber.

"I have nothing to say to you Vilmos." He spat out at her, it hit her face directly and over her right eye. Or at least that was where he had aimed his disgusting attack. Chalcedony had leaped and thrown his body before the face of his trainer and took the hit of the saliva before landing on the ground and latching onto his arm with his razor sharp teeth. Sunrise, who'd been resting on my shoulder, followed his league, especially after she watched her boyfriend be spit upon. She latched onto his other arm, holding him in place before Violet.

"Much better, thanks for the save Chalce," Violet commented at her pokemon, who growled his reply though his currently busy teeth. Her eyes and that of mine as well glared down at the man. He had some sort of connection to Rose and her organization and was going to dang well tell me where my father was, or at least the base where he's at.

"Now then…" Violet looked to be pondering her thoughts briefly before she turned to me. "Wait here for Tristan, Gwyn, I'm going to take this guy up to the set of woods up ahead by a house of a friend of mine's and interrogate this man. Once I'm done with him, you two can join me-"

"Violet, if you want me to wait for Tristan, that's fine, but it's about time that you let me sit though your interrogation." I argued against her. "I know I'm still young, but I should learn how you handle things earlier on so I can learn how to deal with them. At one point or another, you may not be there and I may have to take it upon myself to do this same task. I know its going to be hard to take in, almost as painful as the guy taking the hit to his mind, but its best if I learn now. And not to be rude, but I am a champion now after all."

Violet was silent for a few moments and even our two eeveelutions had stopped their attacks for the moment while they looked between us. Violet looked torn on what she should do and I knew she'd rather I wasn't around, but I had an obligation to this.

Tristan suddenly showed up next to me and I looked over at him for a ghost of a second when I felt him touch my shoulder. "Gwyn-" He cut himself off when he looked over at the look Violet was giving me and I turned back to give her one as well. Tristan was stunned at the situation that stood before him and looked back and forth between the two of us for a while before Violet finally sighed.

"Fine, but don't say I didn't warn you if the scene becomes too graphic or horrifying." Silently she turned her back to the two of us and spread her wings to fly. Chalcedony jumped onto her shoulder before she jumped off the ground and the two of them flew off with the Rocket member in her arms.

"What just happened Gwyn?" Tristan questioned me and I turned my head to face him worriedly.

"We get to see just how horrible Violet's interrogations are."

HalloweenWitchHalloweenWitch

Violet led us to the back woods of a single house that seemed to be on this far north route. From what she told me about it a while back, it was the house that actually belonged to Bill Hugh, the same guy who allowed me to take Sunrise onto my team. He wasn't home at the time since he had been doing some assignments for Violet and spending some time with his family in Goldenrod. It made the area completely empty other then ourselves, perfect for Violet to not let any innocent souls see the horrors of what she was about to do to this man if he refused to come clean.

"So let's get started." Violet changed her changeling form from that of Amethyst to Chalcedony and glared down him with her current neon red eyes.

"Go to hell Vilmos."

"I thought you'd say something like that." Her eyes and that of her dark type began to then glow and the man retched out a blood curling scream as the two intruders invaded his mind. I watched as his eyes widened to the point where they were almost forcing themselves out of the head and so much white could be seen as well as hardly any of the real color of his eyes, which was being drowned out. His hands were tied behind his back, but they had come loose of the bonds while Violet searched his mind and he thrashed about. He tossed his body around, rolling it in every direction to get any information out of him.

His hat was suddenly thrown off his head though and I was shocked to see that there was actually a resemblance between him and what I remember of Rose. His face was shaped just like hers and he had the same skin color. His hair was a vibrant red that was in ringlets and icy blue eyes that were almost swallowed whole by the whites of his eyes. His uniform also began to split apart and he cried out and I saw something of a white uniform below it. How he even got it under there was a mystery I really didn't want to know.

"Ho… I thought I saw something familiar about you." Violet threw a sudden wave of force at the man and he was completely knocked out of it with his head thrown back and his eyes rolled into the back of his head. Tristan looked over carefully at the man as well, noticing something about him which he then began to look even more closely.

"No…" Tristan stepped back and grabbed my hand in what almost seemed like a shocked form of fear. His eyes were bulged at the scene before him of the knocked out man while Violet searched through every thought he had.

"Tristan?" I turned to look at my boyfriend in surprise and I was even more so when he took and held my hand even tighter.

"That's my uncle…" He shook his head and looked over at Violet, who spared him a worried look. "My uncle from Rose's side of the family, Razi."

"Razi? As in Razi Harper? Rose's younger brother?" Violet didn't look too enthusiastic about the news, but I could tell she was holding it back due to her being in his mind, she was half with us and half not while she was trying to probe information from his mind.

"Yes," Tristan answered her slowly. "How did you know?"

"I did some background information on Rose's actual family, and that of Giovanni's too just to be on the safe side and look for possible family members that could also be apart of Team Rocket. Both of the crime lords lost their parents a while back and while Giovanni has no siblings, Rose has a younger brother named Razi, Razi Harper, which makes Rose's full name right now Rosalie Harper Agustino."

"Wow, what a mouth full." I whistled.

"Anyway, let's see what's in this beautiful mind that belongs to the same kin as our dearest friend Rosie." Violet pushed further into his mind and Razi put up no fight as she did so. I blinked in surprise as I watched her scrunch up her face and anger and shock while she continued to tear through his mind. Something wasn't right about this, and I don't mean the fact of what Violet was doing to him, she had the permission of the higher ups to use force if she had to, but it was the actual Rocket himself. Razi seemed almost unfazed at the probing of his own mind, and Violet seemed to be having trouble finding anything about the older sister of this man.

"Having trouble finding anything?" Violet glared at the man that grinned before her. "Sis was right to do that to me."

"What did she do?" I questioned as I stepped before him.

He snorted. "She wiped away all my memories of locations and what not so that way you guys couldn't find out where she was or where any of our bases were. Good luck finding them now Vilmos, Jalen." He snickered before he turned his devilish eyes to Tristan. "I was wondering when I'd finally get the chance to run into you nephew, been spending a lot of time trying to track you down and get you by yourself."

"Why spend all that time looking for me?" Tristan growled and almost leaped forward if it wasn't for my hold on him. "You know I left, you know I wanted nothing to do with your family or Team Rocket ever again!"

The man snorted. "I guess this is my answer from you then, but I wanted to hear it from your own mouth before I was certain." He shook his head. "So if your not 'our family', then whose do you belong to?"

"Mine!" Violet hissed at the man. Her eyes the glowed again and he cried out as she swamped into his head again. "Rose may have wiped you of your memories of the locations, but I can still see small bits that she wasn't able to erase, no matter how hard she tired."

"Get out of my head!"

"Shut up!" Violet seemed to be under a heavy strain as she pushed her mind further into his own and tried to take more information. She apparently finally found something that seemed worthwhile and she released him. Both ended up on the ground, heavily breathing. Violet's hands raced to her head as she breathed heavily and Tristan and I hurried over to her.

"I got it…" She heaved out. "Cinnabar Island. It was recently destroyed by the volcano that erupted there, apparently during the rebuilding of the island, Rose and Razi built a new base inside the old volcano."

"But…" the man gasped out. "How?"

"Even… Rose can't… destroy all memories…" Violet shakily got to her feet. "Just like… I can't either, but I can destroy most of them… enough to fool your sister for the time being…"

"Violet!" She was already weakened from the extra energy she needed to just probe his mind and the stress from the fact that this one of the messed up people from Tristan's old family.

"Don't worry Gwyn, this will be the last thing I do tonight." She reached her hand forward and crushed it to his skull and he cried out a final time before he collapsed to the ground. Violet followed suit and her eyes rolled into the back of her head. I gasped.

"Shit…" Tristan growled. "We gotta get Violet out of here."

"But what about… him?" I nervously looked over to the man that looked almost as if death had taken him, but I could see him breathing, which saved myself a panic attack and a scream.

"Leave him, he won't know what happened to him, and hopefully he won't wake up for a while, giving us some time to sneak up on Rose." Tristan quickly tossed his sister up a bit in his arms to carry her bridal style. "I'll take her back to the pokemon center. I know Violet's going to want us to keep up our appearance so while I take her back, you go look for Misty. Violet mentioned she often came out here to the cape for dates. With the interrogation we just went through, her date might have just as well been scared off."

"Okay, be careful on the way back." I gave him a quick kiss before I turned on my heels and left him to deal with his task as he seemed fit.

I hurried out of the woods in my changeling form (which I never bothered to release and go back into my original form. I soon regretted that when I saw a man out on the cape look back at me in the woods and he screamed bloody murder like before he dashed off back into town. The woman that had been with him stood up and made her way over to me with a furious face laced in her head.

"What the hell was that for? You just scared off my date!" The woman who stood before me was a young girl no older then in her early twenties at the latest, most likely she was near Violet's age or a little older. She had medium length auburn hair that seemed to curl down under her chin. Her eyes were a bright blue color that matched the jacket she wore over her exposed body that only was covered in a dark blue bikini.

I blinked at her. "I'm guessing your Misty then?"

"What's it to you... wait a minute…" She paused for a moment to gather her thoughts as she looked me over. "A changeling? But only Violet and Gwyn-" She cut herself off with a gasp and the proceeded to shake me to death. "You're Gwyn Jalen!"

"Yes, and your trying to murder me Misty." The woman quickly stopped her shaking me attack and grinned.

"Oh I've wanted to battle you for a while now! …but couldn't you have waited until after my date? I don't think that boy'll ever talk to me again now."

I quickly grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer to whisper in her ear. "Violet was doing an interrogation to a high up in Team Rocket in the woods; we finally have the location of their base here in Kanto. That's why we came out of the woods like this." I turned her slightly to look into her eyes to make sure she understood. "But we also need to keep up our appearance, so I need to battle you so Rose doesn't suspect anything."

"Understood, Champion." She nodded and pulled away from me. "Well, now that my schedule has freed up a bit, let's go have the gym battle."

After our encounter on the cape, Misty led me back to her gym in the city. We came back to her pool that counted as a battlefield and I explained to her the rules that Violet had set forth. Misty easily agreed and told me to prepare which ever pokemon I planned to use against her.

"Alright then Gwyn! Send out the pokemon you plan to use!" Misty grinned as she pulled out a pokeball and threw it out. "Let's go Starmie!" The pokemon that came out seemed to be two stars that were layered on top of one another, which gave it ten points, where it also had a reddish pink gem in the center of it while it also was a dark purple color that was somewhat paled.

"Well, I guess this battle won't last very long then…" I pulled out my pokeball and threw it out. "Let's go Scarlet! Squash her pokemon!" My red gyarados came out and it howled an eagerness to battle.

"You think your going to squash us? Get real!" Misty threw out her arm toward my pokemon. "Use rapid spin to confuse and hit it Starmie!"

The pokemon on her side of the field suddenly jumped up into the air and rotated its two halves of its body to cause it to fly in the air. It soared across the way and suddenly slammed into the side of Scarlet's face.

The funny thing was though, she didn't even flinch.

"What?" Misty gasped as she watched her pokemon continue to hit my water type and not manage to hurt it at all. "Try this time with psychic and thunder!"

Once again the pokemon tried to come at my own, this time with mental attacks that hit Scarlet's mind, which did seem to strain her one bit, and then an electric attack, which came from the pokemon's gem at the center of its own body. Scarlet didn't move at that attack either, the only thing she did do was use her tail to wipe out her eyes from the blinding flash she'd just encountered from the electrical attack.

"How is this possible?" Misty gasped as she watched her pokemon tiredly make its way back over to its trainer.

"Who knows." I shrugged at her. "But let's wrap this up; I need to check up on Violet." I threw my arm out before me, my hand turned into a fist, and Scarlet followed my lead by preparing to attack. "Dragon rage!"

Scarlet screeched out as she let loose the attack of red, black and purple that engulfed her pokemon whole and most of the gym as well. I could hear Misty's cry of shock from the other side of the room, but I stood tall as I waited for the blast to be done with.

Is it just me, or am I really strong now? Or maybe this victory was due to her spending too much time with boys and not enough with her pokemon? I could only unconsciously shrug at my own thoughts while the dust and blast remains cleared. Misty gasped as she looked to the other side of the field, seeing me and my pokemon standing tall, while hers was floating out in the water, totally out of it.

"I lost…" Misty shook her head and sighed. "I guess that's what I get for going out on more dates then days I do training." She quickly returned her pokemon and rubbed the back of her head nervously. "Gwyn, I'm sorry about that. I'm normally much stronger then this, but I let you down because of the fact that I've been on so many dates with boys and trying to find 'the one'. I always got so jealous of Violet for finding love so quickly in her life, and I haven't yet. For what you had to put up with from me, you more then deserve my gym badge." She walked over before me and handed me a small badge that looked like a blue raindrop.

"Thanks Misty." I added to the other three I already had. "Four in a day, wow…"

"But anyway, I hope you'll let me battle you again in the future when I'm not dating boys as often as I have been and I'm strong like I should be."

"Sounds good to me." I yawned. "But its time for bed for me. I'll see you some other time Misty, Violet and Tristan are waiting on me."

"Okay then Gwyn! Good night and safe travels!"

Third Person Point of View:

Far away within the island of Cinnabar's volcano was a deep, underground base, hidden from sight and hearing. Hiding within the volcano was one of the better and more thoughtout plans of Rose Agustino then most, but her plans were soon coming to an end as she saw that Violet Vilmos, Gwyn Jalen, and her traitor of a son, Tristan Vilmos (as he now was called after all the papers were signed.) With them inching closer to her, rather then further away, it was a simple possibility that their base could be compromised, but how did they find out.

Rose wondered these thoughts as she sat at her desk in her office and the very depths of the base, a clear looking window that separated her from the lava clad sub-levels below. She growled as she knew what was coming, Violet, and now her partner Gwyn, were coming to stop her operations again. As if it wasn't bad enough that Giovanni had been captured by them, now she was on her own with the few members of her organization she actually had left.

"Damn it!" Rose screeched out as she pounded her desk in a fit of rage. "Why can't I stop those two? Why can't I just stop that damn Violet Vilmos? Or that young girl Gwyn? I should have been able to crush her with how weak and young she was compared to Violet!"

"Ma'am?" Ariana stood in the doorway of her boss' office, waiting for the acceptance to be allowed in. When Rose huffed out and nodded, motioning her in, Ariana slowly stepped before the black walnut desk, rich color that stood out in comparison to the white room.

"Ma'am, we've brought you those reports on the legendary beasts that we've seen running around the region." The nervous woman handed the folder to her boss and Rose roughly took them from her hands. Rose looked over its contents before she saw something that apparently intrigued her. She threw the file onto the desk and showed it to her admin.

"What is this?"

Ariana nervously looked at the report that she was focusing on. After blinking a time or too, she was able to compose herself to explain to her leader. "That's the report that was done on the water type of the legendary beasts Ma'am, its name is Suicune, also called the 'north wind'." She flipped over the page to show to Rose the rest of the report as she talked. "Apparently this beast is connected to Gwyn Jalen, or has taken some kind of interest in her where it's been following after her and acting as a watch dog for her. It's the beast that's been seen the most often and comes out into the open, the most comfortable with being around humans."

"Then let's make it uncomfortable then…" Rose obtained that gleam in her eyes that she was ready to start in on an evil plan. "Capture the beast!"
