Pokѐmon Journey II: Gwyn's Passage
Chapter 26: From Land to Islands
Gwyn's Point of View:
"Be careful down there Gwyn! Those rocks are hidden in the water!" Tristan called out from where he was flying on the back of his newly evolved murkrow, now a large pokemon that was as big as Ticky with a puffed out chest of midnight blue and black feathers, a white puffed out collar, red small down feathers to edge its tail and under its wings and black legs and talons. A stack of feathers still managed to form a hat on its head and a long golden beak pressed outward from its body. It was called a honchkrow. I'd learned about it when we met back up with Tristan to pick him up and take Ariana to prison.
Honchkrow, the big boss pokemon and the evolved form of murkrow with a dusk stone. If one utters a deep cry, many murkrow gather quickly. For this, it is called "summoner of the night". It is merciless by nature. It is said that it never forgives the mistakes of its murkrow followers. There are no known honchkrow nests in this region.
With that information in hand, Tristan quickly taught the pokemon how to fly with him on its back. With that done, we were all racing on our way to Cinnabar Island, or the newly built one on top of the old one that was destroyed to the eruption of the volcano there, where apparently the gym leader, Blaine Volcano, originally had his gym. In a mad dash to get there, I was racing on the back of North Wind, who was faster then a bullet as she jumped over the water.
Violet was also following after us at the same pace on the back of one of her fastest pokemon who knew the air currents and the area best, Sapphire, her legendary bird of ice. She led the rest of us along the dark waters of the ocean that surrounded the region's southern edge as we made our way closer to Cinnabar Island, closer to where Rose was…
And we were going to take her down.
Regardless of my fear of death, I was going to help Violet and Tristan in any way possible to take her down or, should it really and absolutely be necessary, put her down. My pokemon were all prepared for that, and ready in the instant to kill her pokemon as well, should there be no other way to help or save them from the darkness they've propelled themselves into with Rose.
I suddenly saw the island come into view and I gasped as I looked at it. I knew that Cinnabar Island had a terrible volcano eruption a while back, it left many people that actually lived on the island trapped in the Seafoam Islands just a few miles away from it to hide in until the danger was over. When I looked at the island now, even after having a couple years to recover, it looked like its wounds were still being covered and healed. Hardened lava covered much of the land that seemed to cover the island. New buildings seemed to be all over, but they weren't very large in size and many of them seemed to still be under construction, especially any of them that were over two stories high, and that only seemed to be that of a very few selective buildings on the island. I could still see some of the remaining ash riding on the wind as it gust past us, black lava rock covered the earth with green plants of all kinds, grass weeds and flowers, all emerged from the fertile ground. A pokemon center and market place were clearly marked with their red and blue roofs from in the center of the island. Another building stood out, a single one that had fire statures before it and a pokeball on its black roof, positively making it hotter then the dungeon of the earth in there (or another word as Violet would call it.)
Violet led us over to that larger building that sat closer to the volcano then most of the other buildings on the island, which then I had to assume was the gym. When we got there, Violet had her fire pokemon land before the gym and looked at its entrance before she jumped off and motioned for us to do the same. I climbed off North Wind and I rubbed her snout before I returned her to her pokeball and hurried after the older champion.
When Violet walked up to the door and pushed it open without knocking, though the situation that we were in didn't exactly ask her to be curious to normal customs, like knocking on a door before coming in. She had also said that Blaine was expecting us, so I guess Violet storming her way with the two of us was about as nice in this situation as you could get.
Violet led us down a couple of hallways before she turned down into a section that led into the actual volcano. She looked around with a harsh set of eyes before they landed on a form of a man that seemed to be bouncing around angrily, pounding his fists into the walls and any other place he could come into contact with, like the rocks and fire pillars all around him. He was dressed in white dress pants and a matching button up vest with a red shirt under it. He was bald with a white hat on his head, but a white mustache was on his face and sunglasses covered his eyes. He never noticed us, even when he turned around in his fit of rage.
"Blaine, we're here." The man quickly turned around and nearly leaped at the woman in relief and anger.
"Finally Violet, I was just about to head down and in by myself!" The man leaped up into the air before landing, shockingly, on one of his hands with his other three limbs all over the place, dangling. "I've been seeing more members coming in and out of that hole that we found yesterday then you could imagine! At least a hundred or so! It's driving me mad that they're even here! And in my volcano!"
"And we're here now to face them as a team and get them out of there, and then that volcano will be yours all over again to do with as you please." Violet emphasized a few words before she turned back to look at me. "I'm going to have us split up once we get inside the base, there's a fifty/fifty chance that one of us will find Rose, and since we both are at a level to face her, either of us will do, and we'll know when one of us is fighting her."
"It is pretty hard to notice otherwise." I shrugged.
"What team will we be in?" Tristan questioned.
"I'll be partnered with Blaine here, you two head off together." We nodded to her. "There's an entrance to their base here in this gym which they're using as a way of getting out and onto the island without locals even noticing what's going on." She pointed down a tunnel before us that led into the volcano. "I'll send you two down through there and Blaine and I will head through another location we found on the other side of the volcano, only a few minutes from here. You'll see grunts coming out of the door, they haven't exactly been very careful about watching how often they go in or out."
"Do we destroy the base if possible?" I asked Violet worriedly. I was worried for the people of this island, I don't know if they could take another eruption like last time when their lives only now began to return back to normal.
"If possible, destroy it by sinking it into the lava. Rose doesn't have many members now and they still seem to be decreasing, compared to what Blaine says." Blaine made to make a remark, but one glare from Violet silenced him and he screeched before jumping back from his hand to his feet and hid behind Tristan. "I don't want to trigger another eruption if possible, but if we need to evacuate the island once more, then we don't have a choice."
Tristan shook his head and looked over at his sister. "So we'll finally take Rose down? Can we go?"
"Yes, go, and we will take her down, today." Violet walked back over to the gym entrance and nodded to us. "Good luck you two, and should you run into Rose… keep your eyes out for everything. She's crafty and will get her own way if she really wants it."
Rose's Point of View:
"Sis… Rose… you have no idea how sorry I am right now… I didn't know she could erase memories like you could." My brother was trying to earn my forgiveness after his accidental run in with Violet, Gwyn and my traitor of a son. He had changed out of his disguise of a grunt's uniform to that of an actual admins attire and stood at my flank. He was the one person I could still trust, even if he did make a mistake.
"Forget it Razi, there's nothing you could have done, your changeling form has yet to come out and you were unaware of the abilities that Violet possessed." I shook my head as I turned to look at him in my office room. "Now we need to prepare for their arrival, because I know that either Violet or Gwyn will find us here in the heart of our base. Are you ready?"
"Of course Sis, I'm always ready." His persian meowed next to him and rubbed up against his leg as he rubbed its head. "We'll take them down. I promise."
"Don't make me a promise you can't keep Razi, even I don't know what's going to happen this time. It's been almost three years since Violet and I last fought, and her protégé beat me and almost killed me last time." I gently rubbed my aching shoulders from the position I'd slept (or lack there of) last night. Razi hurried over to rub them for me.
"But we've become stronger too, you were only surprised back then, you'll kill them for sure this time around Sis." He worked his hands a bit lower and onto my back to try and work out the knots there form many nights of no sleep and much play. "Sis, I know you love killing people and pokemon, but you need to take a break and give your mind a chance to re-organize itself and be prepare for battle."
I couldn't help but laugh at him as I turned up my head to look at him with the same eyes I show most others, but try to protect him from. "But it's so much fun!"
Third Person Point of View:
While the higher up of Team Rocket prepared for the arrival of the teens that had come to take it out, we focus onto where two Rocket grunts were carefully sneaking around to their base entrance in the volcano, right by Blaine Volcano's new gym. The two members had a set of magbys on them, the pre-evolved form of a magmar, who could handle the hot area of a volcano as they passed through the humid tunnels.
"Are we there yet?" One of the grunts whispered to the other.
"Don't ask me that. I'm tired of hearing it, and we'll get there when we get there!" His partner hissed back him, tired of the very essence of his voice. She tucked a loose hair that had fallen back into her hat as she continued to lead the way back to their base. She was tired, she wanted to sleep after a long night stake out at new research institution that was built on the island after the old one was destroyed.
More fossils were being brought back to life and the grunts knew that Rose wanted her hands on a few of them, especially since one of them had a bit of a glittery substance in its fossil, which could have meant that the pokemon was a shiny one. And any shiny pokemon there is in the world, Rose wanted. With the information gathered from this report, the female grunt could have earned enough to get a vacation for a little while, at least enough to hold her over and run from the organization before it was taken down.
Yes, the Rocket female grunt knew that the two women that had dared get in her boss' way were coming, and most likely it would be any day now when they'd attack. This grunt was ready to take off running after seeing what was happening to her other members, even the idiot member she was walking with could be killed at any moment for his lust for rewards that they would get for jobs completed. Boss Lady Rose would murder them and throw their bodies into the volcano, leaving nothing to be found. All personal effects were thrown in as well, leaving nothing for anyone to find.
But this female grunt wasn't about to be killed, she was going to escape and make a real living for herself in the world, no one would ever know about her being a Team Rocket member, nor would she ever let herself be caught. As soon as things went south in the base, she was going to run. Throw away her uniform into the volcano, grab some civilian clothes, and run off to some unknown region where no one even knew Team Rocket's name.
"Finally, we're here." The male grunt perked up as soon as he heard those words and the female stopped before a set of rocks. She pressed a small indent in the formation and quickly a set of doors opened up to reveal a pathway. She and her partner walked inside, returning both the magbys before they did. They were in 'safe' territory now.
Little did the two of them know, two onlookers were watching from a safe distance behind them, a young boy and girl, both of which were planning on using that entrance to reach Rose, and take her down.
Gwyn's Point of View:
We followed the unsuspecting grunts through the volcano until they reached that of their hideout, just past a section of Blaine's gym that led into there. Tristan and I rushed up to where we saw them head in once the grunts were gone, and we looked around the wall until I saw the same indentation that the girl used to get inside. I pressed it and the doors opened to show us the same pathway. I turned my head to look over at Tristan and he nodded at me before we both hurried inside and the doors closed behind us, giving us a cool breeze that was keeping the base cooler from the heat of the volcano.
Upon entering, we actually didn't see any grunts. It was vacant, but it was also just a tunnel. Even the two we had just seen were gone. Either they were further down the hallways from where we were or they had taken some sort of hidden elevator to get to another level where they would report to some sort of higher up.
"Looks like we're going to need to do some looking of our own," Tristan said as he sighed as he took my hand in his own. He rubbed the back of his head as he nervously looked over at me.
I gave him a soft smile. "Don't worry Tristan; I'll be here with you all the way." I gave his hand a squeeze and gently began to pull him forward and down the tunnel.
"Wait." I blinked and stopped at his order and I heard him release a pokemon. When I saw the gengar appear before me, the urge to scream was pretty high. Tristan clamped his hand over my mouth and pulled me to his chest very quickly to try and help me relax. "Shh… it's just my gengar, it evolved recently. He's not Rose's."
I slowly nodded and he released me. "What did you let him out for though?"
"To look through walls and doors that may lead us closer to finding Rose." The gengar before me gave me a sad look before it gently reached forward and tapped my cheek. I knew then that it had no intention of evil like the gengar that Rose had. I gave it a soft smile back and nodded before it also smiled and then floated around silently in the air.
"Alright Gengar, head out just a bit ahead of us, and if you see Rose's gengar, come right back, it can and will kill you if given the chance." The pokemon nodded and flew off into the walls, sticking its head, or at least its eyes through the walls to see something other then this hallway. While it did so, Tristan and I held onto each other hands while we continued to follow after it.
The hallway seemed to continue on for the longest of time before any sort of doorway even appeared. When we finally saw our first set of doors, Gengar carefully looked inside before pulling its head back out and shaking it. Nothing of interest inside. The same thing happened with many of the other doors we came before until we made it to a large one before us. Gengar stuck its head through to look and pulled back, letting us know it was an elevator, one that would lead us straight to Rose if we wanted.
Nothing could make me happier that moment.
Gengar use its ability to override the security and allowed us inside and knocked out the camera before we hit the button that would take us to the lower level. I turned to look over at Tristan and he looked back at me.
"This is gonna get messy Tristan, be careful." I allowed my form to change into that of my changeling form of Cynder so he could see how serious this was.
"I know, I'll be careful and just take out any grunts and Razi, should he be there." He pulled out his pokeball and showed it to me as he tossed it into the air. "I'll leave Rose to you."
Violet's Point of View:
It wasn't a hard thing to get into the Team Rocket base, their security was still lacking in many places, and by that, they either have no one guarding the entrance or the one they put to guard there is so weak that I can take him out on my own human strength alone, and that's pretty pitiful. The one that was stationed at the entrance we found was easily tossed aside and Blaine would have laughed if the situation didn't bother him so much. After all, having an evil organization inside your home city or town or island is awful, because then you're tagged as non-observant enough to notice it, even when you spend a damn good amount of time making sure all the people are safe and happy.
Along the walls of the base, the white turned red in the moments where the alarms went off and the screeching sounds echoed off the walls. Well, it would have done me good to take out that alarm, but I didn't exactly care at the time… It wasn't until Amber had enough of it that she jumped off my shoulder where she held on and swung her tail at the one that we were walking by and smashed it, stopping the sound feet and she was able to relax a bit as we made our way further into the base.
Chalcedony was my eyes from every direction as he used the small amount of psychic abilities he knew to keep us safe from any attacks that could come out of no where. Amber was my ears for any sound that could be used to direct us to pokemon that were in need of saving. Did I also mention that most of the pokemon we knew they had were from this very volcano, in other words, Blaine's pokemon? It was another reason why he was pissed and why he wouldn't let me go down by myself, but that reason was only justified by the fact that he wanted to come along and either rescue his pokemon or beat the crap out of Rocket members, or both.
"Bre!" Chalcedony suddenly shouted and I took on his traits and grabbed Blaine before I jumped forward to make it out of the way of a projectile of a pokemon that was aimed right at us. When I pulled myself out of where I landed, I looked at it to get a glimpse of a yanma before the pokemon flew straight at me again. I hissed and tossed Blaine to the side as I changed my traits again to that of Amethyst and blasted fire at the pokemon. It screeched and moved out of the way just in time to avoid my flames.
Fire ooze from my mouth as I glared up at it. It flew back down to the side and hid behind a human that stood in a doorway that led into another room. That person was Razi in an admin uniform. "Glad to see you made it Violet, though I have to admit that my sister doesn't exactly feel the same way."
"I hope your not here to try and stop me Razi, since you know your no match for me." I licked at my lips as I edged my way toward him. I quickly spared a look to the side. "Blaine, find the pokemon trapped and free them."
He looked like he was about to argue with me until he saw my face, I was in no mood to mess around as I looked at Razi almost as he was a form of prey. I snarled and my wings emerged as well as my claws. Razi saw the trouble he was in and started to back away with his yanma behind him.
"Yes Champion Violet." Blaine sighed as he chucked himself off in the direction of another hallway where he must have heard the cries from. Ones that I was now picking up with my sensitive ears and traits I was borrowing. All of my pokemon released themselves and we slowly advanced on Razi.
"Let's dance."
He took off running.
Gwyn's Point of View:
The elevator soon came to a stop on the lowest floor it would go. When the doors opened, I gave a quick look over to Tristan before we moved forward and headed out of it to the single door that was here. Within my changeling form, I moved before Tristan and his gengar floated up to my side, to which I nodded to it and it peeked its head through. It quickly came back and raced to hide behind Tristan and out of the same spot that his gengar had come out of, came Rose's. I puffed up my cheeks with fire and blasted it with a good bit of flames.
When I cut off my attack, I saw that the gengar was gone. I kicked the door and it fell to the ground and on the inside of this dark room, there she stood. Her gengar floated next to her with a bit of a singe on its head from where I blasted fire at it.
"So you finally made it to me Gwyn Jalen." She whipped around her body and head to face me, quickly turning into her changeling form and her eyes shifted to Tristan who I shielded behind me. "And you brought my traitor of a son with you, now I can kill two pidgeys with one stone."
"I'd like to see you try Rose, you have to remember that I'm not the only changeling here."
"Oh yes, I know of Violet being in the base as well, but Razi is keeping her distracted for me by running her around in circles." She pulled up a screen and the image of Violet running around while chasing Razi could be seen. All of her pokemon had been released and somehow had been getting no where with catching him as he ran with his yanma. Two of her pokemon were missing though, not that Rose seemed to notice. Only her four larger pokemon were chasing after Razi. I couldn't help but chuckle at her and Rose quickly turned her furious eyes at me.
"What's so funny?"
"Oh, nothing!" I shook my head and quickly out of my pokeballs came my team. "But now, we have to take you down Rose!"
"I'd like to see you try you little bitch!" She instantly turned into her changeling form of her gengar and screeched before she lunged at me. I quickly blew out a beam of fire at her and she dodged to the right with ease, tapping her body off the wall to throw herself at me. I blinked in surprise and she grabbed both of my arms and shoved me against the wall. Her grip was strong, and when I tried to kick her, my feet went right through her as I tried to free myself.
"Gwyn!" I heard Tristan call out.
"Don't come help me Tristan!" I roared out and fire hit Rose in the face. She suddenly became aflame and I watched her body burn right before me as her face pushed through the flames and she still kept coming.
"Cune!" I turned my head to the side as I heard that cry and closed my eyes to avoid the blast of ice that was directed before me. I gasped when I looked back up to see Rose's body trapped in a hold of ice. I gave a thankful look to North Wind as I pulled up my legs from where they were hanging and shoved them into her chest and pushed. She was thrown from where I was shoved against the wall, and I watched as I heard this sickening ripping sound of flesh and bone before I saw her hands holding my wrists stay in place as the rest of her was shoved back in the ice. Her body, that was covered in ice, hit the wall on the other side of the room and she screeched out in pain as the ice shattered and burns and frost bite marks were all over her skin as the clothes she actually had on began to disintegrate as well.
While Tristan stood in wonder and shock, I ripped her now severed hands off my wrists and threw to them the side before I dived at her, hurling us both threw the wall and into the volcano below.
Third Person Point of View:
While the battle between Champion Gwyn and Rocket Boss Rose took place, Razi and Violet were still at it as they ran down the hallways. She was only toying with him, they both knew it, but in a way, Razi was also doing the same thing. He purposely was doing this to avoid Rose having two changelings to deal with at once. At least with only facing off against Gwyn, the younger of the women, Rose would have a chance, but if she would have to face off against Violet, or Mew forbid, both of them, then Rose wouldn't stand a chance, or at least, that's what Razi thought.
Little did Razi know though, Violet had sent off her two smaller pokemon, Chalcedony and Amber, to go and find a way to trap the young man. They had vanished for quite a while now, but that was understandable with Razi running around the entire Team Rocket base.
Little did he know his game would finally come to an end when Chalcedony and Amber suddenly popped out of no where, unleashing attacks of both dark and electric types. Razi was forced to dive under the attacks and look back at both his directions of escape cut off and trapped. Violet glared down at the man, as well as all of her pokemon who's growling could be heard echoing off the walls for many hallways. He shook his head and backed up to the wall behind him as Violet stepped up before him and her pokemon cut off any inch of room to escape. The flying pokemon had out their wings and arms to cut off any space, and there was no room to dive either with Chalcedony and Amber in the way of any large enough gap.
"End of the line Razi," Violet's voice rang out in the hallway in its eerie silence as he leaned against the wall and grinned at her. His laugh then came out and her pokemon looked between each other and at her while she glared only harder at him. "What's so funny?"
"That you think this is over. Sis and I aren't done yet, and we won't be until your dead!" It was then that a figure then appeared out of the wall, a misdrevus, who phased through the wall and grabbed onto the man before he was pulled out of Violet's grasp. She screeched, Violet, and she thrust her hand in after him and it went right through the wall. Behind it revealed a new location where Razi's startled cry could be heard on the other side.
Violet then grunted out again and rushed through the wall and looked around for Razi, he was hurrying away with his misdrevus carrying him and making him intangible. Violet reached behind her back and out following her hands when she pulled them back to the front of her appeared her wings from her changeling form of her shiny charizard and she jumped into the air. Her smaller pokemon latched onto her as she took off and her other four pokemon that could fly raced after her as well.
Razi was slow compared to them and they caught up on him quickly. He looked around the room that he'd broken into and saw a door. He pointed over to it and had his pokemon and himself phased through it. Violet chased after with a vengeance and her smaller pokemon used their attacks to destroy the door as she flew right through it. They were now out in the volcano area where the heat was beyond normal standards of living. Violet grinned at her stroke of luck as her fire power would be increased by the heat, while the only exception would be that this would weaken Ruby and Sapphire, her pokemon weak against strong heat and fire. With a suddenly burst of energy from the heat, she flapped an extra hard time on her wings she came within reaching distance of Razi. He cried out and threw his body to the side and his pokemon was forced to drop him due to the sudden sheer force of what took place. Razi hit the ground and started to roll before he hit a rock and cracking of bones could be heard.
"Now is it the end of the line Razi?" The man nervously looked up from where he'd fallen and saw the grin of the woman before him, a grin that much matched that of his sister's, pure insanity. Others may not have noticed it yet, but part of your Violet's mind has deteriorated from all the battles that she's been in with Rose. While she is far more better off the Rose, she is likely to have moments of inanity just as she does, like now as she focused in on her prey.
"Not until my last breathe Violet Vilmos!" Razi hurried to look around for anything that would help him and he suddenly saw something that caught his eye. "Sis!"
Rose looked over from her fight, her hands gone and she was using her feet at the time to try and kick Gwyn Jalen away from her who was also closing in. "Razi!"
In that moment, Gwyn blew a large beam of white fire at the two of them and Rose was shoved back along the ground toward her brother. Her brother shielded himself from the fire until he was right next to her and he covered her body with his own. Upon seeing her stubbed wrists, he gasped and glared over at Gwyn Jalen, who he knew had taken her hands away from her.
"You bitch…" Razi would have said more, but he and his sister were in a tight pinch. He was hunched over his sister who was still trying to recover from the last attack. "Damn… Rose, we need to get out of here Sis."
His sister turned his head to look in both directions and saw that they were surrounded by the two pokemon teams and their leaders. They even had a back up of Tristan should they have needed his help as well for the situation, but apparently it was un-needed. Rose shook her head and turned her head to the walls around, seeing the spot where her gengar had been thrown before and it was gone, waiting for her order as she could feel its presence below.
"You're right, and this time, Team Rocket is gone for good." Both girls blinked in surprise as they watched the scene. Tristan had even stepped up to Gwyn's side and took her hand in anticipation. "My husband was right, and now and forever, nothing that we've wanted to accomplish can be completed with them around. So until they are dead, we're on our own Razi." She laughed while a now serious Violet and worried Gwyn and Tristan were watching the two of them. "We're going to travel Razi, and I need to find myself a new set of hands." She turned to the ground. "Gengar, now!"
A set of stubby purple hands reached out of the ground and grabbed the two wounded humans and pulled them below the surface. The three other humans cried out in vain as they disappeared and once again, Rose had escaped the grasp of justice. Violet hissed and spewed words of anger and swears. Gwyn worriedly looked over at Tristan, originally the son of Rose before he was adopted by Violet's family and he could only sigh as the two of them.
"Violet, please calm down." The woman hushed her hand to a set of growls as she looked at her younger brother. "I know that she got away, and while I know that we will catch her in time, please be thankful with the small victory that we obtained today." He gestured around. "We-and by that I mean you two-took on Rose and her brother and had them packing and out of the region faster then I thought possible. Not to mention that Rose disbanded Team Rocket, for good. Never will that organization haunt anyone ever again."
Violet sighed, but did nod to his words. "Oh I know Tristan; it's just so frustrating to know she got away again." She groaned and stretched. "But at least she didn't almost kill someone this time. Last time Alex almost died and I had a choice to save him or take her in, it wasn't pretty."
"So what now?" Gwyn questioned the two of them. "I mean, we still have to get rid of this base, because I'm sure Blaine will not take it in and make it some sort of museum."
"Oh we'll probably throw it into the lava, there's enough of it to take out the entire base, and its still really mellow, so it should be fine." Violet waved it off as she reduced herself back to her normal human form. "But now we should check every inch of that place and make sure no one's still inside it, free anyone, people or pokemon, captured, and take all the Rocket members prisoners before we sent this thing into a pile of lava. Sound good?"
"I believe that will work." Gwyn nodded and took the hand of her boyfriend as they followed after Violet out of the volcano area and back into the base to search it's every corner.
Gwyn's Point of View:
It was a few hours later with the police and all our other friends had arrived to take this place apart and make our official statements to the press about what took place here. I'm sure that with Team Rocket finally disbanded for good; a lot of people in both Johto and Kanto could now breathe easy. Aaron had come with Alex and Vince and all the other gym leaders in the region to help us out with the evacuations of everyone in the old base. Hundreds of pokemon had been stashed down in its lower depths, just above where Tristan and I had gotten off on the elevator to face Rose. I still couldn't actually believe that I took her hands off…
Anyway, all the levels had been cleared and Violet and I personally checked them all ourselves before we both gave the okay to destroy the base and our friends started to cut off pieces and throw them into the lava. As that process was going on, Blaine had come over to where we were resting. Being in a changeling form for so long really takes a lot of energy out of you.
He grinned at the lot of us, all six of us, now including Aaron, Alex and Vince who were telling us of what they did for undercover jobs to get any information we didn't get to Violet and the rest of us. He stepped over to me and held out his hand. I tilted my head in surprise, and reached out to shake it when he actually took it and placed something inside it. He pulled back and allowed me to open my hand and look. Inside there was a badge that looked like a flame. I blinked a few times before I looked back up at the man that still continued to grin at me.
"Is this your badge?" I finally questioned him when he never explained to me why he gave it to me.
"Sure is!"
"But why? I never got to battle you."
"So?" Blaine laughed as he took a seat next to me. "Just because I wasn't the one battling you doesn't mean I didn't see your skills. Just watching you battle Rose was quite the feature in itself, and I could see your power that you held, and that of your pokemon as well." Blaine shook his head. "Besides, you have two others battles apparently you'll be facing in the next-oh wait, its tomorrow and the day after if you need it!" He snickered and pulled down his sunglasses to look at me in the eyes. "Violet wants you to finish up all the smaller battles before you get a real test of strength! Oh I can't wait…"
"Enough Blaine, don't spoil the surprise." Violet tisked him as she came to join us. "Didn't your mother ever tell you not to do that?"
"I never listened to her!" He continued to laugh and have a good time as all of this steam was clearing over and the base was being destroyed so he could have his volcano back.
"By the way Gwyn, we got another little surprise for you." I blinked over at Violet, who had me rise from my seat and had me follow her. I turned back to look at the boys and they were all giving me grins and thumb ups. Violet let me to a small tent that was put up on the side for people who had been rescued form Team Rocket and she poked her head inside before she called out to whoever was in there.
"Mr. Jalen, your daughter's here to take you home." I couldn't suppress the gasp that I'd been holding as Violet quickly pulled herself out and shoved me into the tent. Upon stumbling in, I saw that the man who was sitting on a chair with a bowl of soup in his hands had dark blue hair, a bit shaggy and long from being prisoner for two year to three years. Light blue eyes looked at me in wonder and the bowl of nearly depleted soup was dropped to the ground as a result of looking at me.
"Gwyn?" The man stumbled forward on weak legs as he reached out for me. "Gwyn, sweetie, is that you?"
"Daddy?" I slowly made my way toward him until I saw his leg get caught on something and he tripped. I dived for him and landed on the ground with his arms around me and mine around him. His face was buried in the crock of my neck. With what little strength he had he bundled up around me and held me close.
"Gwyn!" he whispered into my ear. I could smell the fact that he'd never been bathed in a long time, nor had he saved from the heavy beard he was carrying, but I knew it was him. He was safe and home now.
"Daddy…" I felt the tears poring over before I could stop them. "I'm sorry I took so long to find you..."
"Don't worry about it, it's all over now. The nightmare's over, she's gone…"
"Not really Daddy." I looked back up at him and he dared to look at me with a sad face. "Rose may be gone from this region, but she's still out there." I shook my head before leaning it against his chest. "I'm sorry Daddy, but I don't have a choice but to go after her. Once all of this settles down, I know Violet and I will be going to find her and take her down."
He lightly laughed and nodded to me. "I know Gwyn, I know. Just promise me this honey…" He stroked my hair before giving me a kiss to my forehead. "Promise me you won't swear." He looked at me questioningly. "You didn't do that at all while I was gone, did you?"
I shook my head and put his look to rest with a smile. "Not a single one Daddy."
"That's my girl…"
"Miss Vilmos!" Suddenly a man burst through the door, dressed as an officer, and he worriedly looked around before his eyes caught that of mine and my father's. "Oh Miss Jalen! Thank goodness you're here!"
"What's going on?" I rose from the floor and helped my father back to his seat before I turned to the officer. "Did something go wrong?"
"No, but we found puddles of non-fire type pokemon blood that was before a section of lava as we were searching around! We know the base was checked from top to bottom, but we know they were killed there, the blood is still fresh! We believe them to be Rose's pokemon!"
"Oh no…
She killed them…
Rose's Point of View (A Short While Earlier):
I kicked the sorry excuse for pokemon I had into the stone rocks right before the pool of lava below our last and final Team Rocket base. With the help of my brother I had shed my uniform and thrown it into the lava which left us only in some civilian clothing. The two pokemon of mine, Bellossom and Proygon Z, never even tired to assist in the battle against Gwyn Jalen and Violet Vilmos. Not to mention those horrible creatures had never made a connection strong enough with me, even with all the killing they've done, to become another changeling form for me!
Blood seemed to flow from their bodies with every kick and even Gengar joined in on the fun as he laughed and cursed them both and sent shock waves down every never they had in their body. Screams couldn't be heard from them no matter how hard they tried. Gengar prevented that from happening. In all the horrible events of the day I was having, I could at least get some sort of enjoyment out of it, and the only way of doing that…
…is death…
"Sis… Rose… listen to me!" I could barely hear my baby brother's voice over all the thrills of excitement that were rolling through me by watching the death of a pokemon. "They're going to be on our trail soon if we don't get out of here! And if you don't remember, you got your hands ripped off by Gwyn Jalen!" He tugged onto my waist to prevent me from being hurt further. "If you want to kill them, then do it quickly or we'll never make it onto a boat and get out of this region!"
"Shut up!" Both of their hearts exploded before me and I felt their blood tickle down my face. I watched as their lives both vanished before my eyes and the finals breaths lost in the humid air. Both of them were weak to begin with, Gengar was the only pokemon I could truly count on in the face of danger to lend me his power and to help me get away should something.
"Sis… come on! I can hear them coming! Bellossom and Proygon Z are already dead!"
"…Fine." I kicked their grubby bodies over my feet and threw them into the lava. I watched as their bodies suck into the boiling molten rock and Razi was then able to pull me along and out of the way of any search parties that were looking for us. I glance to the side and saw my only pokemon now, Gengar. He was a gift from my husband long ago, and due to just being from him, I knew he would be loyal to me until the day I died.
And hell, I ain't dead yet.
Witch's Note:
Oh shit… while we might have sent Rose packing for the time being… awe man things are just getting worse! Now she's lost both her hands and she just killed two of her three pokemon! How messed up is that?
On the bright side of things though, Rose has left Kanto and Johto for good and Gwyn got her Dad back! Things look good for them!
Alright people, now you know I love you, so send some of that love back at me with a Review or some Questions if you have any! Come on! We only got THREE CHAPTERS LEFT! OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!
