Kiku was in total shock as Matthew stood above him, squeezing his neck in an attempt to kill the Kitsune. Trust was broken in that moment and Kiku no longer held a reason to hold back, even against his lord. So, with a quick kick of his legs he was able to break free. His eyes narrowed darkly and flashed a vicious blood-red, a sign that a Kitsune was indeed enraged by a betrayal of trust.
Kitsune's are honorable creatures. Once they make a promise they are bound by honor to keep it, for if a Kitsune were to break a promise, they would commit to a path of self-destruction. The Sin of Regret is one a Kitsune could not afford for it comes with a deadly cost. For a Kitsune, their emotions are their worst enemies. They run so high that it becomes distracting and difficult for them to function. Yet, here and now the primal emotion of outright rage consumed the Fox Kami. Matthew had broken his trust and betrayed him; a deadly consequence for someone who had earned a Kitsune's enmity most likely will result in a dishonorable death.
He had already taken the one thing Kiku valued most centuries ago, his freedom. It had happened when Kiku was attacking human village for the death of one of his own clan. The young female Kitsune Tamamo-no-Mae, one of few Kitsune to reach her full strength and bear her ninth tail.
She was a beautiful fox, one who loved tricks and playing with mortals disguised as a courtesan. The foolish Emperor Konoe whom had fallen so madly in love with her and wished to wed her. Yet, she and Kiku were destined to be mates. His love for her was unwavering and he had warned her of going and living among the humans. Curiosity was too much for her and she always traveled beyond the Twilight Barrier to the realm of Light to be with her beloved humans to whom she always said were the most interesting of creatures. It was on a lovely night that the Emperor had proposed to her once again, offering many fine silks, rare gems and animals all to which she said that she had already a love. Angered the Emperor set out to find and challenge her lover for her hand. In his travels he came across an old woman whom asked him, wearily from her travels, for some sweet Sake. Disgusted by her appearance, he turned her away against the wishes of his Samurai unknowing that the woman was Amazake-babaa, an old woman whom travels asking for sweet Sake and if refused cast a spell of disease upon the one who turned her away.
The Emperor returned to the castle shortly after and fell ill. Saddened, Tamamo-no-Mae stayed by his side until he could regain his health. One day, an astrologer came to him reveling that his beloved was truly a Kitsune and that she was the cause of his illness. He claimed her to be a nogitsune, a wicked Kitsune that liked to harass and steal human souls. Fearful of his soul, the Emperor called her to his chamber one day. Tricking her into drinking a potion, he watched as she changed into her fox form. Angered, he drew his sword to strike her down but not before she vowed vengeance for his betrayal. When her blood stained the field she changed into the Sessho-seki, the Killing Stone for all who come into contact with it were killed. Tamamo-no-Mae's spirit became known as the vengeful Hoji, an ugly black fox forever frozen with a scowl upon its face far from the love white fox she had been.
It was for that reason, the sadness for her fate to be the very thing she feared most a fox dedicated to revenge, that Kiku became a victim of his emotions and ran through the Twilight Barrier in full demon form, past both Tsukiyomi and Amaterasu to the castle where he sought his own vengeance for his murdered beloved. When he found the Emperor he changed swiftly into his human for, baring only two tails. He swore to make him suffer as he had made his dear vixen. By the time Amaterasu had come, the Emperor lay upon the ground before Kiku's feet, against the walls, in the river now stained red, and in the fires of Mount Fujin.
Amaterasu was enraged that he had killed humans, appalled by his bloody appearance and sickened by his lack of regret for his sin. Originally he had planed upon his death, but Tsukiyomi (whom was able to cross for the barriers had met by this time) had called for justice and a trial. Kiku was indeed found guilty but with the help of Tsukiyomi, he was not to receive death. Instead the blood that stained his fur was to remain as a reminder of his crimes and that he be confined in a cave where no light would shine. Yet, somehow Amaterasu had fought that punishment stating he had a more suitable place for him. It was in this time he was given to Tsukiyomi as a companion by the Prince of Heaven, as a pet.
He resented both gods and was appalled by the look of his dark lord. He already held resentment toward him for offering his help when the Kitsune had not asked for it, another fault to the ever glorious foxes. Yet, Tsukiyomi had not demanded him to do anything. He had not ordered him to stay by his side and when Kiku had gone about his normal duties and had been gone for months on end the god had done nothing to punish him. Curiosity had overwhelmed him one night when Tsukiyomi did seek him out. Kiku had thought that he was then going to be punished but to his surprise Tsukiyomi had presented him with a gift, a shrine for his beloved Tamamo-no-Mae in hopes of appeasing her vengeful spirit. A statue of her was made of silver and stood beyond the boundaries of Kiku's signature red Shinto gates. Around her neck she wore his yodarekake, a red votive collar. At her feet were expensive incents as well as a rare Sake only the higher deities received. Food offerings of variations of rice such as dumplings, mocha and sushi sat there all beautifully crafted. It was all so lovely and overwhelming that the demon fell to his knees and wept before his lost love. When he regained himself, he looked to find the demon god had gone and that he was alone. Tsukiyomi had honored him by not staying to see his tears, for demons were not supposed to weep. It was there that he made a vow to his beloved, that he would never abandon this new god and that he would follow him to death.
The following night he had reported to Tsukiyomi's side and it was through this that he had fallen in love with the deity through his act of kindness. Though he still frequents his beloved's shrine, he has not gone back on his word to her nor the vow he had made for shortly afterward he had fallen to earth as well hunting and watching over his beloved Tsukiyomi.
"How dare you defy me!" the sun god howled. He ran at him, jumping in time to smack him to the ground harshly. "It was I whom save your life! You vowed to me that you would protect him! A Kitsune is bound to his word by honor!"
Kiku stood quickly and moved to the side. "It was not you who saved me but the fair Tsukiyomi! It was his kindness that spared my life!" He barked back moving to the side only to be countered by Amaterasu's fearsome blade he was just barely able to dodge.
"Where had that led him?! He was punished because you left him!" The god dropped to one leg as he watched the sharp claws of the irate Kitsune just pass his flesh. He popped back up and ran at him sword at the ready. "Murder!"
The moon shone brightly within the sky between them. Each shocked beyond reason and the fact that the Omega they fought for stood before them. His long hair the color of a raven's feathers blew gently in the breeze, two black rams horns spiraled from his head, pointed hears perked and listening, his skin a ghostly white, fangs long and sharp as a blade, large raven like wings spread open to their full glory and three times the god's size, a long thin tail with an arrow head tip swaying from side to side, yet what defined him most were those shining blue eyes.
Kiku immediately threw himself to the ground before him. While Matthew stared, body weak and heart nearly ready to burst with joy. It had been so long…so damn long since he had last seen his beloved in his full glory. "My beloved sky flower…" the elder god whispered, falling to his knees.
Tsukiyomi turned to Kiku, extending one hand. "Inari Ookami…" his voice sent waves of pleasure through each of them, soft as silk and warm when it ran trough you. He turned to the other and did the same. "Amaterasu…" he smiled sadly and pulled his arms across his chest before disappearing into the light of the moon with a flap of his wings. There was a blinding light and all was still in the forest. It was when the moon's light returned that it brought back the young Omega, blonde hair and tear stains upon his cheek. He laid there, wrapped in glorious cloth from the realm of darkness.
"Heavenly Father be praised!" Kiku shouted.
Both Alphas ran to the Omega's side, looking him over for any harm. Yet, neither of them forgetting the fact that he had changed, that Tsukiyomi truly existed within the young Omega. Though, why he refused to show himself until now was a mystery. Perhaps it was because of their feud? The Dark Prince had claimed he held deep feelings for both of them, that he would never allow harm to come to them if he could help it and he was true to his word.
The blonde's eyes fluttered open. First gazing almost dreamily at Kiku, a large smile on his face. "I-I know you from before…long ago…you were…so…sad…" he closed his eyes and sighed softly, sadly. "My only friend…" he looked up once more, tears in the corner of his eyes. "Please…"he reached his hand up weakly. Kiku took it quickly holding it closely. "Help the other Bearer and his youngling! I can hear them…crying out…the poor mother is ill…" He made a move to stand only to be forced back down by Matthew. "Help them! Help them please I beg you!" He was growing hysterical.
The Fox smiled softly and kissed the soft hand. "I give you my promise, my word binding with honor I shall fetch them and bring them here safely."
The young Bearer stared at him blankly for a moment before the tears streamed down his face. "You were so sad…she was so lovely…yet…vengeance did not bring her back…"
The Kitsune held his emotions inside him. The boy had accidently saw through to his past through a single touch. Had felt his emotions and seen the world as he had. He was right. Her death had sent him into a path of self-destruction from which that very child had saved him. He lowered his head slightly before taking off into the forest to find the young mother and his youngling.
He had wanted to say no, to fight and stay by his side for fear of losing him to the monstrous Sky Prince. Yet, when he had wanted to speak out, no words came once he gazed upon those saddened sapphire eyes of the Dark Prince.
"A Kitsune's word is bound by honor…" he chanted. "A promise made is a promise to be kept. Broken shall destroy thy honor and drive one to madness." He jumped over a fallen tree and quickened his speed. "Sinful is Regret for shame shall kill thy body and destroy thy soul!" He clenched his teeth tightly and pushed forward. "My word is my law! For I am Kitsune, cunning Fox of the great Forest!"

Horse hooves trampled over the open field, crumbling innocent flowers on their destructive path from the kingdom they have always known. There in the lonely field sat a camp of three hundred men. With growling bellies, they urged their horses to move faster.
Once safely within, they dismounted their horses, a group of three, and headed for the large decorated tent where there stood the young Emperor and his elder Generals alongside his bastard brothers. "Can be not!" he yelled. "Find him you must! Late father marriage between us he wish!"
"Lord Emperor Brother, not lose self. Is wise to clam then carry on." Kaoru said softly. He looked about the map noting all the areas scouts had been sent out with nothing to report back.
"Elder brother right he is, Lord Emperor Brother take rest long have you stayed in this realm never looking at dreams." Cheng implored him. He was worried. Yao, being the eldest, was forced deeply into his studies and often neglected sleep in favor of studying. This gave him a grouchy disposition and thus no one liked to be near him.
"Nay! Find him I must! For late father's wish be made!" he slammed his hands on the table shattering it into dozens of tiny pieces and causing the earth beneath them to tremble knocking them all in the camp to their feet save himself. Shock consumed him and he stared at his hands.
"Death claimed you…upon day of birth." He whispered eyes narrowing in confusion as he recalled his father's dying words. "Pray did I to gods. For silent were you born. Devastation lay on your mother's face. Blessed I was by god of wisdom and earth. Eldest child of Mother Holy." He took the medallion from his neck and ran his hand across it. It was the Earth God's symbol. "Blessed are you by Gods. Son of Light. Son of Darkness is second son Kiku. Forgiveness key." He traced the mark of broken earth with his finger before bending down and scooping up a handful of dirt. "Upon you our blood line is. Breed Omega, for great power he holds. Fathered by Darkness…Mothered by Light…balance key." With that he sprinkled the dirt onto the medallion.
Instantly it began to glow within his hand. The ground trembled before him. "You know whom you are now…" a voice whispered. "Say thy true name and become once more thy greatness!"
He closed his eyes, took a deep breath and uttered the name proud and true. "I am Haniyasu-hiko! God of the Earth and Wisdom, divine god of earthquakes, first born of The Holy Mother Izanami and half brother of the great Amaterasu, Prince of Heaven! I am the great Prince of the Earth, Haniyasu-hiko!"

A large cauldron boiled an eerie green. The dark cloak of the man swayed in the wind as he added the Snapping Tigerlily to the mixture of newt skin and frog toes seasoned with ginger root and sage. "From thy hand of Darkness, send forth a steed that doth bare speed!" He chanted over and over again adding hornswood and barthelberch. The concoction began to bubble up. He gave a cackle as a shadow appeared from within. "With this thy hand be wed! For he shall be mine for all others shall be dead!"
BOOM!
Smoke covered the area, covering him in soot and ash. He coughed and gagged cursing under his breath. His horse neighed, no longer afraid of the explosions. "Silence thy wicked self!" he coughed hard and waved the smoke from his face. Examining his supplies he found all was well enough. "Curse thy hand of Yoosei!" those damn faeries added an extra ingredient, again.
They giggled at him. "Thou art a jester fair sorcerer!" they cried through fits of laughter.
"Thou art demon wenches!" he howled as he gathered his things once more. "Try such once more and I swear it upon thy Heavenly Father for witness I shall cook you in my next stew!"
"Yoosei Stew! Yoosei Stew! He shall cook us into Yoosei Stew!" they chanted and flew about him in balls of light much like those annoying buzzing flies.
"Be gone foul beasts!" He swatted at them far too slow to hit one. "Bloody annoyances!" He hissed as one flew off with his wand.
"Annoyances? Is that how you feel of us?" One asked, causing the sorcerer to turn on his heels.
He bowed to her slightly. "M'lady Titania! Please forgive my rudeness in your gracious presences!" he owed this faerie everything for she had given him the book that turned him into the fearsome sorcerer he was to this day, all because he had saved her life from a Tengu. The vicious human-bird hybrid was attempting to keep her as a prize after he drained her of magic.
The faerie was only the size of his hand, from wrist to the tip of his longest finger in height. Her long silver hair held back by lovely silver ornaments. Two great silver butterfly wings, twice her size, fluttered behind her. Lovely blue eyes stared at him lovingly.
The Faerie Queen smiled and landed on his shoulder. "No harm done. My children are quite bothersome as children are." She giggled softly. "Be sides that why do you use my formal name? You save my life it is Mab to you Arthur!"
He smiled brightly. "M'lady, all due respect I feel as if I cannot. I doth owe thou so much. For it was thou whom gave me thy gift of magic and with thus I earned gold coins to buy my slaves and become as I am."
She flew up, before his eyes. "My dear Arthur, the magic was within thyself already. I simply gave to you the key to unlock it. Yet, more there is to learn for you are stronger than thou think-ith be true." She kissed his nose before waving her hands and moving the cloak over his head in a playful manner. "All thou must do is remember thy true name."
Arthur pulled the cloak from his face and frowned. "Ever the playful faerie M'lady." He burst into laughter. "What doth my true name be?"
She turned her silver hair from him. "You have heard it once before my dear Arthur. Thou must remember thy truths." She gently pet a few strands of his hair. "Only time shall tell." She bowed to him. "I thank thou once more for saving my life."
He rolled his eyes. "Once more I welcome thou."
"I shall take my leave. Be careful love and…" she giggled. "Try not to bloom thyself to thy Heavenly Kingdom!"
His eyes twitched. "It was not upon my offence but those of thy bloody faeries!" he shouted for all to hear.

A/N
Okay a lot happened in this chapter. Now let's get something's clear.
Imagine Tsukiyomi as being Meiji Alfred mixed with Sweet Devil Alfred. Tsukiyomi's eyes can change between 3 different colors. 2 you have seen already, blue and white. Blue is his normal color, white is when the soul is pure and destined for heavens and blood red when the soul is destined for hell or if he is really pissed!
The story of Tamamo-no-Mae was somewhat altered. In reality she worked for an evil Daimyo (a war lord) and was killed by Miura-no-suke (the Emperor's great warrior) whom she appeared to in a dream the night before telling him he would kill her in a field and begged for her life to which he refused. Later, a Buddhist priest called Genno convinced her to leave the stone and head to salvation.
Kitsunes are indeed victims of their own emotions and every other thing written in this story. It is true that they value freedom above all else and if captured will indeed lead a path of self destruction. They are very proud creatures and refuse to ask for help unless it is a very very very last resort. Kitsunes are messengers of Inari Ookami, whom Kiku is. They are very family oriented demons but in the story, Kiku remains alone (as in he seeks out no other Kitsune) because of the death of his beloved Tamamo-no-Mae and the fact Alfred is his "family".
Yao is the God of Earth and Wisdom but no such god (to my knowledge) fits what I want him to be in Shinto so I claim him to be Haniyasu-hiko. He will have other names as well mainly because there is more than one god of earth in Shino. In the story he is indeed older then Amaterasu but is not recognized as such for reasons you will find out later on.
Amaterasu is the prince of Heaven, Haniyasu-hiko is the Prince of Earth and Tsukiyomi is the Prince of Hell.
Arthur is indeed Okumi-nushi, God of Sorcery, medicine and ruler of the unseen things. Sounds like England right?! FUN FACT! Saiya-hime wrote Arthur as Okumi-nushi knowing he was the God of Sorcery but not knowing of the unseen world! When I looked him up for more information I found he defiantly fit England well!
Yoosei is Japanese for Faeries.
I used the f-a-e-r-i-e-s spelling because it is prettier then the f-a-i-r-y spelling.
All gods, goddesses, demons, spirits, and assorted supernatural creatures are all real (in religion) and can be looked up outside of this story. Just Google it like I do.
If you haven't guessed it, Native America is Izanami the Goddess of creation equivalent to Thesis in Greek mythology.
I got the name Titania from Shakespeare. She is aka as Queen Mab. If I'm right, she appeared in A Midnight Summer's Dream.
Arthur does not truly hate faeries he just dislikes them.
This is neither the first nor last time Arthur's spells and/or potions will blow up in his face. Remember what Matthew said last chapter. "O-kuni is a formidable man when he could remember his incantations!" ^^ Even in this tale England's black magic doesn't work well.
Happy Birthday to Saiya-hime! She is the big 21 and here in America she can drink now!
I'm sorry Bigmama! I didn't mean for that to happen.
I've taken too much time now so I will leave you all be. Jaamata!
