Chapter 9
"Rhys what is it?" Gwen asked when she answered the phone.
"Gwen, I need you to come home. It's about your mother." Rhys said on the other side.
Jack and Lacey kept a close eye on their friend on the phone thing and then they looked at each other and knew that there was something that was really wrong.
Lacey walked over to Gwen, just in time to catch her from hitting the floor hard. Jack came over and together we were able to get her onto the couch.
Jack went over to the phone that was on the floor where Rhys was still on the phone. "Rhys, Gwen has fainted. What did you tell her?"
"I was wondering why she wasn't answering me. I told her that her mother was shot and killed." Rhys said, trying not to sound jealous.
Jack closed his eyes for a second and then turned his attention back to Gwen and said. "That kind of news would make me faint as well. Is there anything that we can do?"
Lacey looked at over at Jack who mouthed. I'll tell you in a minute. Lacey nodded and looked back at Gwen. After a few minutes, Jack came over and sat down next to Lacey. "The news that Gwen got isn't that good. It turns out that her mother was killed in a shooting."
Lacey leaned her head on Jack's shoulder. "Is there anything that we can do?"
Jack shook his head. "Rhys doesn't think that there is. I think that he's still jealous of me, so he doesn't want me anywhere near them at the moment."
Just then Gwen woke up. "Gwen, I'm so sorry." Lacey said as she helped her best friend sit up.
"It's OK, Lacey. I just need some time at home for a while." Gwen said looking at Jack who nodded his head. Gwen got up off the couch and left the Hub.
Jack and Lacey watched her go, worried about what Gwen was going to do to herself.
A/N: I know that this is a short chapter and everything. I'm also VERY sorry about how long it's been since I've updated this story. I've been busy with school and everything else. But I'll try to update as much as I can. I'm a senior in college so school is my #1 priority right now. As always. I'll gladly take any reviews that you think that would make this story better. Thanks for reading!
