Well, it hasn't been a year! So, that's good, right? Haha, I'm sorry guys. I know it isn't really an excuse, but I had AP tests and then graduation and everything kind of all at once. But I got a really great review on the first Katie story that inspired me to take another look at this! So, thank you for that and hope everyone enjoys!

I sighed as I folded my hands over my stomach at my desk. I couldn't get comfortable in the chair at work anymore; no matter how much I fidgeted.

"Katie, why don't you just go home? Call it a day," Alicia suggested cautiously.

"That'd be nice, but I still need to type up and format my article for tomorrow. Hopefully after that, I can go home," I replied.

"Okay, let me know if I can do anything," she offered with a smile before turning back to her work. I decided to just buckle down and finish the article. Maybe I could convince Oliver to rub my back before bed, I mused silently before focusing. In a little under an hour, I finished editing the article and decided to head home.

"When are you going on maternity leave again?" Alicia asked as I started gathering my things to head home.

"Well, Oliver already wanted me to be on it, but I convinced him I'd be stir crazy in minutes. So we compromised, when I hit 32 weeks, I'll be off. So, just a month away," I explained, counting quickly in my head.

"I'm going to miss you here," Alicia said, frowning. "But you can make it up to me by bringing the baby here a lot after you have it!"

"It's a deal," I promised as I got carefully to my feet. "See you tomorrow, Licha."

"Bye, Katie!"

I let myself into the house, appreciating the sunlight the huge windows let in. I let myself have just a moment to gaze around, disbelieving that our house was so beautiful.

Tap, tap, tap, I heard from the kitchen. When I walked to the room, an owl perched outside the window, greeted me. I unlatched it and let the owl flutter in, shaking its wings carefully. I took the letter and read the short message Oliver sent.

Kates,

Practice is running late today, nothing seems to be going right. Hopefully I'll be home before you go to bed.

Love you,

Oliver

I frowned. I didn't know if it was the pregnancy hormones or what, but I had really wanted to curl up next to Oliver on the couch and talk about anything. I had been looking forward to it. Shaking my head briskly, I decided moping like a lovesick teenager wasn't going to help anything. I was digging through the cupboards for something to eat when I realized I had all of the ingredients for chocolate chip cookies, the team's favorite. Maybe I could make cookies and bring them. I could see the team, which I hadn't been able to in a while, and Oliver. With a grin, I decided on that course of action and set to it.

A little over an hour later, I had a plate piled high with cookies. A delay had taken place when I decided I had better eat something. Oliver got worked up when I didn't eat regularly. I knew it wasn't the best for the baby, but sometimes I just wasn't hungry. And then sometimes, I was so hungry I could eat twice as much as Oliver. Looking at the clock, I frowned. If I took a car, it would take ages to get to the pitch. I didn't want to apparate and that left flooing. I didn't mind doing that, except that I had to use the manager's office fire place and I hated imposing no matter what he said to the contrary. Shaking my head, I decided to do it. I threw a handful of powder to my feet, clutching the cookies tightly as the flames engulfed me.

When I opened my eyes again, I saw the interior of the manager's office. I found a napkin under a few papers and left him a couple cookies as a silent thank you for letting me use his fireplace. When I made my way to the pitch, a scene of flying figures greeted me. I decided to wait on the team's bench until they got a break. Their coach, Jim Sterling, was nearby, watching the players, but he turned when he heard me.

"Katie, what are you doing here?" he asked with a smile. He was a kind man, but a tough coach.

"I got Oliver's owl that practice was going late and decided to bring treats by," I explained, holding up the cookies as evidence.

"They'll love that. They're upset because Carrie and Jared kept on dropping the ball, and then Todd missed a perfect opening. Oliver hasn't been too awful today, same with Alex and Luke. Zoe would be good, if her two idiot chasers would learn how to hold onto the ball," he gave her a report. He knew her background in quidditch and liked to try and include her.

"I'm glad you keep his ego in check," I said with a grin. "God knows I can't."

"I do my best," Jim sighed, then smiled. "Let's see, they're due for a break now anyway, I'll call them in so you can give them the cookies and chat for a minute. But not too long, they need to pull their stuff together soon."

"I won't distract them too long," I promised. "But you better grab a cookie before you call them, they'll be gone before you know it." He agreed, grabbing two.

Then Jim whistled, loud and shrill, and all seven figures turned their brooms towards them. In a few seconds, I heard them talking.

"Who's down there with Sterling?" Jared asked as they flew in.

"It's Katie!" Luke called, landing first. He put his broom down carefully; the man could give Oliver a run for his money for how seriously he loves quidditch. Then he strode over and hugged me carefully, mindful of my prominent stomach.

"It's been forever! I missed you," he said after he released me.

"I know, I'm sorry. It's been crazy with getting everything ready for the baby," I apologized.

"It's okay. I just expect you to bring the baby here a lot after it's born," he said seriously. I laughed.

"You sound like one of my best friends," I said.

"Is she single?" he asked.

"Who's been with one of my other best friends longer than Oliver and I," I quickly added.

"Damn," he said, frowning good naturedly.

"Stop hogging the pregnant woman," Carrie said, elbowing Luke aside to hug me just as gingerly. "It's been awful lately. All Oliver talks about is you. 'Kates wasn't feeling well this morning, I hope she's better now. Katie was up all night throwing up, she must be really tired at work.' Yada yada yada," she complained teasingly in a bad Scottish accent.

"That is not how I sound at all," Oliver interjected as he came up by me, kissing me hello.

"Katie made us cookies!" Luke exclaimed as he discovered the plate. Even Oliver left my side a moment to snag a few, before he came back.

"Cookie?" he offered.

"No, thank you," I declined.

"Did you eat dinner?" he asked.

"Yes, I did. Thank you for checking," I said pointedly.

"I'm sorry, you know I worry," Oliver said, giving me a charming smile. I rolled my eyes.

"You're ridiculous, I hope you know that," I said, giggling.

"You married me anyways," he reminded me.

"Only because she met you first. If I had met her first, she'd be mine," Luke called.

"In your dreams, mate," Todd scoffed.

"Besides, she can't cook, you both would starve," Oliver called back.

"Doesn't matter, I could live on these cookies," Luke said, stuffing another into his mouth. I laughed. "But alas, she's married to you. I'll have to be content with being an uncle to your kids. I'll be the fun uncle, teach them everything they need to know."

That ignited an argument over who would be the best uncle of the three of them. Alex was standing off to the side, a bit awkwardly.

"If you sneak in now while they're fighting, you can probably still get a cookie," I mock-whispered to him. He grinned before taking a cookie. I felt bad that I didn't know him as well as the others. But to be fair, Todd and Luke had already been on the team when Oliver joined, and Zoe came right after him. About a year later, Carrie and Jared joined, so we've all been close for a while.

They all talked and drank water on their break while Oliver turned to me.

"We still aren't shaping up, so I don't know when I'll be home. Hopefully, everyone learns how to play their positions so we can go home," Oliver complained before taking a swig of water from his bottle.

"I'm just glad you aren't in charge of them, they'd never go home," I said teasingly. "Guys, one time me and another chaser couldn't score as well as he wanted, and he kept us in the pitch till one in the morning! Practice had started at six," I confided, smiling at Oliver. He tried to defend himself before giving in.

"They weren't doing what they were supposed to," he muttered.

"And you still married him?" Jared asked seriously.

"Yeah, something must be wrong with me," I agreed.

"I'd still marry someone who looks like Oliver too," Carrie mumbled with a grin at me.

"I don't think anything is wrong with you, Kates," Oliver jumped in, trying to redeem himself.

"Aww," Todd snickered until Zoe elbowed him.

"Thank you, Ollie," I said and reached up on my tiptoes to kiss him. He snaked an arm around my waist to steady me, and kissed me softly. His other hand left my waist, I assumed to give a rude gesture to the guys who chuckled.

"I should probably leave and let you get back to practice," I said after the kiss ended.

"No! Katie, you can't leave. Sterling's only nice when you're here!" Jared exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, guys," I said, still smiling.

"No, you're not," Luke muttered. "You're happy you get to go home and relax and we're stuck here slaving away."

"Poor Luke, it's so hard to be a rich, famous quidditch player," I quipped sarcastically.

"I'm glad you've realized," he said, frowning.

"Get a grip, mate. And let's let Katie leave, she needs rest and other things that pregnant women need," Jared said, gesturing vaguely at my stomach. I smiled. The guys were trying so hard to be supportive, and it was really cute.

"Bye, everyone! I'll see you soon," I called, waving.

A chorus of "Bye, Katie," followed before they walked back onto the pitch, near their brooms.

"I'll see you at home. Don't wait up if it gets too late," Oliver cautioned before kissing me goodbye.

"I won't. But if I'm sleeping, wake me up when you get home, so I know," I said, hugging him tightly.

"I will. Love you, Kates."

"I love you too."

With a quick goodbye to Jim, I was on my way back to the fireplace and home.

I was bored when I was home alone. I decided that I could start organizing the baby's room. We had the room itself done, the walls painted and the furniture assembled, but all of the clothes and toys were strewn in bags around the room. I folded little green and yellow outfits and lined up rows of pacifiers and toys. It felt nice to have everything organized and kept me busy. I hadn't realized it had gotten late until I heard the front door open and Oliver's familiar routine. Keys on the table, shoes off and tucked away, and his steady footsteps towards the bedrooms.

He was just about to walk to our bedroom when he noticed the light on in the nursery and paused.

"Katie?"

"In here," I called as I put down the blanket I was folding and started to get up from the floor where I had plopped down to put things away in the drawers.

"Here, let me," he said as he walked in and offered his hand to help pull me up.

"Thanks," I said, a little breathlessly. It was hard to maneuver with that belly.

"Anytime," he said, smiling at me. "What have you been up to?" he asked as he surveyed the room.

"Just putting things away. I was bored."

"It looks nice. Think we have enough things?"

"I would hope so. I don't know where anything else would go!" I said, gesturing to all of the full drawers.

"We'll figure everything out. I'm going to grab a shower, and then I'll be in bed. Why don't you go get ready?" he suggested. I nodded, just then realizing how tired I actually was.

A little while later, Oliver slipped into bed next to me.

"I love you, Kates," he whispered.

"Love you too," I said back. "Night."

So, there's that. Hope you enjoyed! Please, please leave a review. I just got my inspiration back for this and hopefully some reviews will help me keep it! I think next chapter will be the baby coming. So, if you want to see that soon, review!
