Jack slumped down into his chair next to Raf in their histroy class.
"Hey Jack. Where were you during lunch no one saw you?" Raf said.
"I ate my lunch by my locker. Sorry." Jack replied.
"Miko told me about what you said to your mom. I don't know what you should do." Raf continued.
"Well, what do your parents think of the faction war?" Jack asked.
"I don't think they really care about it. I can join in as long as I keep my grades up and don't get in any trouble." Raf answered.
"Well aren't you lucky." Jack replied.
"Sorry, I didn't mean it that way. I just really hope that you make a decision that you're happy with." Raf said.
"Mister Esquivel and Mister Darby, is there something important or groundbreaking that you have to say about the topic at hand?" Their history teacher, Mr. Kup asked.
Mr. Kup was one of the older teachers at the school. The students often made fun of him for it, sayng that he probably lived through most of the historical events that he taught about. Nonetheless, most of the students agreed that he made history quite entertaining with th way e spoke about said events. He had greying black hair and wore a faded green dress shirt with black pants. He looked at the two boys sternly with his blue eyes.
"Uh, no. Sorry sir." Jack answered.
"I thought as much." He said before returning to the lesson. "Now if you would all open your textbooks to page 28."
Raf and Jack met up with Miko in the science hall on their way to their last class of the day.
"So. Jack, have you made up your mind yet?" Miko asked when the two boys were within ear shot.
"No. Miko it's only been a day." Jack replied.
"Well, you could have made up your mind in a day." Miko said.
Jack shook his head. "Let's just get to class."
"C'mon Jack!" Miko complained.
"Okay then. Miko, what about your parents? What do they think of the faction war?" Jack asked.
Miko crossed her arms and looked at him smugly. "My parents don't actually know about the faction war. They're still over in Tokyo. I'm here because my parents agreed to let me attend school in America. However, they chose the school because of it's reputation for it's successful gradates. They had no idea about the faction and they still don't."
Jack sighed. "Well lucky freaking you."
After class the three freshmen walked together to their lockers. Jack said goodbye to them quickly and left the school.
That night, Jack lay awake in his bed, his head still spinning with the indecision. He was also thinking about what Optimus had told him.
The factions fought the way they did because they were passionate and believed in what they were trying to achieve. If they didn't fight then it might bring more harm rather than peace.
Jack wanted to help, and if that meant that Jack had to go behind his mom's back so she wouldn't worry, then so be it.
The next morning Jack walked up to Raf and Miko who were already at their lockers.
"Morning guys." Jack greeted.
"Yo Jack!" Miko replied.
"Guys, I've made up my mind. If they accept me, then I'm gonna join the Autobot faction." Jack announced.
"Woo! Go Jack! I knew you'd come around eventually!" Miko exclaimed happily.
"What about your mom, Jack?" Raf asked.
Jack shook his head. "She doesn't know. I think that's probably for the best too. If she did know that I was gonna take part in the war then she would be worrying too much. And believe me, my mom doesn't need to worry about me any more than she already does."
Raf looked unsure of Jack's decision but nodded anyways.
"Great, so onto the day." Jack proclaimed.
As they walked through the hall they were met by a huge group of students blocking the way.
"What's going on?" Jack wondered.
"Guys!" Bulkhead exclaimed from the crowd.
They walked up to him.
"Bulk, what's happening?" Miko asked.
"We're getting an Energon machine!" He answered.
"A what now?" Jack asked.
"An Energon machine. It's a vending machine for Energon Cola." Arcee replied as she walked up to them from within the crowd.
"Energon Cola? Never heard of it." Miko said.
"No surprise. Energon Cola is an energy drink made especially for only a select few schools in the district." Arcee explained. "There are actually several machines down in Con territory but they guard them."
"They guard them? They guard vending machines?" Jack asked.
Arcee nodded. "Energon Cola is like a miracle substance. It provides not only 6 hours of energy but heightens our thinking ability and helps us with our long term memory. Not to mention that it tastes amazing."
"Sounds cool, but why are all the other machines down on the first floor?" Raf asked.
"Because the Cons are incredibly persuasive and have many connections. Damn rich kids got the council to agree to put the first few machines they purchased on their floor. It was only through Ultra Magnus' position as student council president was he able to petition at least one machine up here." Wheeljack answered as he came up behind them. "The Stiff finally used his big shot status for something we can all enjoy."
"Well, why the big crowd then?" Jack wondered.
"They're installing it right now and everyone wants a first taste at it." Bulkhead finished. "And oh boy am I with them!"
They waited for another ten minutes before people began shuffling forward towards the vending machine.
The people who installed the machine walked past the eager students.
As they walked down the stairs the youngest one left the group and headed towards a corner the others had passed by. There, leaning on one wall was Megatron.
"Hey, friend. Did you program it the way I asked?" Megatron said.
The guy nodded. "I'm happy to help out Megatron. Anything to aid the faction who got me and my brothers the credits we needed to graduate."
"Thanks Hank." Megatron replied.
"No need to be formal. When in the school I'm still Hook, and my brothers and I are still the Constructicons." He said.
Megatron smirked. "I'm glad to hear that Hook."
What did Megatron do?
Thanks for all the reviews and follows and favs! Please keep them coming! I love them and am very grateful!
