Regrets
Let it be remembered that Hatake Kakashi was a man filled with regrets.
There were many things the man famed as 'The Copy Ninja' regretted. Many things which had caused him to distance himself from others. Many things that made him wish that he lived in a perfect world.
He regretted his inability to save his friends. He regretted not smacking Naruto and Sasuke's heads together on top of the hospital. He regretted not tracking Sasuke down and dragging him back to Konoha himself. He regretted that he distanced himself from everyone and everything. That he didn't reach out to his sensei's son or his teammates nephew. That he didn't teach his genin team much beyond 'In the ninja world, those who break the rules are scum. But those who abandon their friends are worse than scum.' He regretted that he failed in teaching even that seemingly simple lesson.
He regretted that he allowed himself to lose his genin team to the Sannin. He regretted that he didn't lock them in a room as genin until they could go five minutes without fighting. But most of all he hated how people commended him for teaching Team 7 or for his actions during the Third and Fourth Shinobi Wars. He hated how his greatest regrets and failures were the things people most admired about him.
This is the last part of my 'Hatake Kakashi' series. Tomorrow we have something different. I know these last three have been repetitive but thy were kicking around in my head, driving me insane.
