Nerves

People often claimed that Uzumaki Naruto must have nerves of steel if he was able to face down Uchiha Madara without flinching.

But right now he didn't feel that way as he eyed a certain blue haired kunoichi across the street.

"Oh for crying out loud, just ask her out already." Sasuke fell into step beside Naruto. "She'll say yes and you two can stop being so awkward."

"We're not awkward. And it's not as easy as you think it is, asking a girl out."

"Really?" Sakura slung her arms around the guy's necks. "'Cause you asked me out a million times without a problem."

"As a joke! It's different with Hinata! With her I actually have to deliver on the date part!" Naruto shrugged off Sakura's arm. "You wouldn't get it."

"Chicken." Sasuke muttered. "Asking a girl out is easy. Do you want to meet for dinner later, Sakura?"

Sakura rolled her eyes. "I'm taking you up on that."

"You two aren't helping." Naruto glared at them.

"Sure we are." Sasuke smirked, then yelled in his best impression of Naruto's voice. "Hey Hinata!" He winked at Naruto before disappearing with Sakura into the crowded street.

"Naruto?"

"Oh um hi, Hinata! I was wondering if you maybe - kinda - wantedtogetramensometime?"

"I'm sorry, what?" Hinata smiled, having perfectly understood what Naruto had said.

Naruto took a deep breath to calm his nerves. "Would you like to get ramen with me sometime? Like, as a date?"

"Sure." Hinata grinned. "I'm busy today, but meet you tomorrow at Ichiraku? At noon?"

It was all Naruto could do to keep his jaw closed as Hinata pushed past him.
