Chapter Twenty-Six
I sit with Manny as he colours me a pretty picture and he babbles about what it is he is drawing. His curly hair is flopped in his face and he keeps pushing it out of his gorgeous face. Jasper is talking to his lawyer on the phone about the papers that Embry signed the other day. I smile at my handsome boy and kiss the top of his head softly with tears in my eyes. "Marinna," Jasper says. I look at him and he is not smiling.
"What is it?" I ask with fear.
"Embry has a lawyer and he is trying to get full custody of Manny," Jasper says. My heart sinks at the sudden change of events. Embry is trying to take my son from me. I put Manny back down and I stare at the floor for a minute.
"Why is he doing this?"
"Embry is trying to get the court to say you are unstable and not able to care Manny in a safe manner. He is trying to also say that Manny is not in a safe environment here with us."
"But, he is safe with you and I. We are giving him everything we have to make him happy. Why would he do this to me and our son?"

"You are doing the same! You are taking Manny away from me and I am his father!" Embry shouts.
"You left us! You abandoned us and never came back for us! You don't deserve to his father after what you did!" I scream and cry.
"I needed time and I came back for you both!"
"You were too late! You are taking my son away when we lost Ethan already!"
"You are doing the same there too!"
"We are offering you to pick the days you want to see him. Please, do not take him away from me and drop the case. I am begging you to not do this to me already. I have lost enough in the last year and I cannot lose Manny."
"No, you can keep him if you come back to me."
"Embry, I do not love you!"
"Yes, you love but you are letting what happened come between us!" I pushed Sam away and I rushed out the house. Embry followed me and he chased me down into the forest. "Marinna, it is okay," Jacob says while reaching to touch me. I flinch away and I block him. Jasper comes running out and he is looking at me. He falls down to hold me and I begin to panic.

"Marinna, what? What happened?" Jasper asks in shock. He reaches out to me again and I scream while covering my face.
"Jasper, she was raped by Embry not too long ago. I am sorry," Jacob says. Bella and Rosalie come out with Carlisle and the two girls walk over to me. I lean against Bella when she puts her arms around me. Rosalie smooths out my hair as they coax me to my feet and inside the house. Emmet is holding Manny, but I am unable to look at my son. He cries for me as I walk like a zombie up the stairs to Jasper's bedroom. I lay on the bed and close my eyes, but the incident comes back to me. My tears come back as I curl into a tight ball. Why did he rape me if he said he loves me? Bella rubs my back after putting a blanket over me and she sits with me to help me sleep peacefully.
