Chapter Thirty
The Cullen household is abuzz with preparations for the wedding in just one week. Billy was a little worried about the quick decision, but knows that is a reason to it being so fast. I am sitting on the edge of the tub at my house and I am thinking about the wedding and realising that I am getting really nervous. Jasper comes in after putting Manny down and he raises a brow when I look at him with worried eyes. He comes to stand in front of me and takes my hands to stand me up. I lay my head against his chest and I take a deep breathe.
"Marinna, are you nervous?" Jasper whispers.
"A bit, I always thought I would be marrying Embry. But, that was only a dream for a moment. Now, I am excited to be getting married and to a wonderful man like you, but I am just nervous and worried that we are doing it so quickly. Something is telling me that we are jumping into this too soon and there will be repercussions to moving so fast. It is going to be small, but still," I babble. Jasper lifts my chin and he kisses my lips softly. We remain in each other's arms and sharing this sweet moment for a few minutes before Jasper pulls back with a smile.
"My lovely Marinna, you are letting this get to you and it is not neccessary at all. We will be fine and whatever repercussion we get in the future, we will face together as a family and as husband and wife. I love you and I cannot wait until I hear your beautiful mouth say 'I do' and you become mine forever in name and soul. You have made my life so much better and I cannot wait for us to be together," Jasper says sweetly with his handsome crooked smile. I smile and move part of his curly hair out of his face.
"You really are excited about us getting married this soon. Am I correct in thinking that had we of done what most couples do and waited, you would have been dying for the big day to come sooner?" I giggle.
"You are correct," Jasper purrs. He kisses my forehead, the tip of my nose, and then my lips. "You do not have anything to fear because I am here now to protect you forever."
"I love you so much," I say and pull his face to mine for a deep kiss. Jasper moans into my mouth and he pulls me against him tighter. We pull away eons later and we are smiling like fools at each other, happy to be together like this.
I am helping get a few things done and watching Manny and Reneesme play. Tomorrow is the big day and I am not as nervous, since we had to bump the wedding again because of a few things. Sam is bringing the boys to the wedding and I am sure he is not a happy camper about me marrying a Cullen and this soon. Jasper is talking with Carlisle about something really serious and it seems to have been putting him in a upset mood as the conversation progresses. Manny and Reneesme are whispering quietly about something and the two giggle. I look up and see Jasper rubbing his face in frustration and he turns to me with dark eyes. I get up and rush over to him as quickly as I can. Jasper smiles a little when I am before him and he caresses the side of my face.
"What is the matter, Jasper?" I ask.
"Marinna, you are...you are pregnant with Embry's child. Carlisle found out after doing the exam on you after the incident. He did not know how you would react and did not want to tell you until after the wedding, but the child is growing quickly just like Reneesme did," Jasper says weakly.
"That was why we moved the wedding up, because of the baby," I say. Jasper nods his head slowly and he looks at my tummy. "Jasper, Embry cannot know. No one besides Carlisle can know. You will be the baby's father because I love you and want you to be the father. Embry will taint this child with hatred to me. Please, please."
"Of course I will claim this child as mine. I love you and I will keep this child safe," Jasper says. He kisses my forehead and pulls me into his arms. "Embry will never hurt you or our children."
"Thank you," I say. We pull apart when Alice skips over to take me away for one last fitting and one last check on the schedule for tomorrow. My mind moves away from the baby and the memory as to how this child was created. This child will be safe and will not be effected by Embry's angry to me leaving him.
