Sensei

"Sensei, is it true you taught Uzumaki Naruto?"

"Sensei, am I holding this Kunai right?"

"Sensei, why do I need to learn Clone Jutsu, Uzu . . ."

It was times like these that Iruka had no idea why he became an academy teacher. The questions were always the same. But every time he looked at the kids with their wide eager eyes and brilliant smiles (mischievous smiles) he remembered. The pure joy he got from watching the kids grow into fine Shinobi.

"Yes I taught Naruto. And he was a right little brat."

"Close, just adjust your fingers a little. See? Isn't that better? Now try hitting that target."

"You need to learn Clone Jutsu because it shows how well you can control Chakra. Naruto had awful Chakra control but large amounts of chakra which made shadow clones easier for him."

He would smile down at the kids when he answered their questions, remembering the children who had come before them and pondering the ones who would come after them, amazed at the impact so many of his students had had on the world.

"Iruka-Sensei?"

"Yes?"

"What are Shadow Clones? And if they are so much easier, why don't we learn that Jutsu?"

Shit. He hadn't planned on covering Chakra exhaustion and levels until next week.
