Chapter Thirty-Nine
It has been months since the discussion with Carlisle, Bella, and Edward. Sadly, we have not seen them in these past few months because we managed to get our identities changed through Jasper's contact and we have been living as the Hale family in a small town just off the Canadian border in Vermont. The little town is called Newport in the lovely state of Vermont. Jasper wanted to live in a smaller town called North Troy, but there is barely anyone there and we need to not live in such a small town where more people would notice us. We live on the edge of town in an older home and one of the last original houses in the area. Jasper has allowed me to do some remodeling on it since it is officially ours after the papers were signed this very morning. The house is a magnificent, finely wrought covered porch wraps around this impressive Victorian estate home. The two-story foyer provides a direct view past the staircase and into the great room with a large central fireplace. To the left of the foyer is a bookshelf-lined library and to the right is an octagonal-shaped dining room. The unique kitchen, which boasts lots of workspace and a cooktop island. A pass-through connects this room with the bright, bumped-out morning room, where a corner desk provides a convenient spot for homework or checking email. A butler's pantry, walk-in closet, and broom closet offer plenty of storage is comfort in the master suite, where the amenities are stunning: a huge bedroom that opens to the porch; a windowed sitting area; a see-through fireplace, and an amazing bathroom with enormous closets one for Jasper and one for me and a whirlpool bath. Four uniquely designed bedrooms, three full baths, and a lounge with fireplace are located on the second floor. Jasper got a great deal on this house and he is proud that we have two houses of our own now. I walk upstairs to check on the children and hear their giggles that go with their pitter patters.
"I hope that is not running I hear," I giggle. I carry the basket of clean clothes to the children's room first to see that it is empty. Jasper had the room designed based on the woods back in Forks and the three of them have a bed in their own little corner of the room. Manny was persistent that he share a room with Christine and Christian. I put the children's clothes away and then head over to the play room that was originally the lounge upstairs. My three children are playing in the playroom together and happily. The children smile at me and continue on with their little adventure. I decide to go back downstairs to put the rest of the clothes out to dry. Jasper comes out of the library and he gives me the same smile that the children just gave me.
"How are the little rascals?" Jasper asks.
"They are having an adventure in the playroom and having fun. What have you been up to while I was doing laundry?" I giggle. Jasper takes the laundry basket from me and he pulls me close to him.
"Oh, well, I was looking at plane tickets for a possible trip for you and I," Jasper purrs.
"You know we have to take the children with us, since I refuse to hire a nanny," I say sweetly.
"The children would go to see Carlisle and Esme while we are gone."
"Jasper, I am not going to leave our children out on a possible fun family trip, we can do something romantic during our time there."
"Marinna, you are making me wait to take you on a honeymoon and I am dying on the inside the longer I wait for you to say yes. What if I convince Billy or even Matthew to come over to watch the kids for us?"
"Billy would not fly because of his wheelchair and Matthew is stuck doing some business deals in Italy. How about Rosalie and Emmett?"
"No, Emmett will turn our boys into crazy monsters and they are already wild enough for me. Plus, Rosalie will spoil Christine with clothes and we will be trapped in her pitiful pouting when she is upset in not getting what she wants."
"Jasper, that would be you being trapped with our daughter's pout."
"True, alright how about Edward and Bella. They could bring Reneesme over too for Manny to see her again."
"They are happy where they are right now to come and babysit our children."
"Well then who in the family do you think would come and watch the kids for us." The two of us are silent for a moment before we finally come to a silent decision on who would watch the kids. The two of walk into the kitchen and I go to put the laundry basket away, while Jasper goes to grab the phone. In seconds the two of us are waiting with the phone on speaker phone while it rings.
"Hello?" A sweet and motherly voice answers and I cannot help but smile.
