Pain

Her world was pain.

It was five days since. Since her world was shattered. Since her existence became pain.

"Konan."

No. She didn't want to talk to him. Not to anyone.

"I promised Yahiko I would look after you."

"Go away, Nagato."

"No." She heard her friend settle in the chair behind her. "I can't go back on my word."

"What does it matter? He's dead."

"He died for you."

"He would have done that for any of the Akatsuki."

"Konan." He reached over and placed a hand on her shoulder. "His last words were that you must survive."

"And what does that matter? He's gone!" Konan spun to face Nagato. "He's gone and he can't come back! You don't get it. I didn't just loose a friend. I. Lost. Yahiko."

"I know."

"No you don't."

"Yes I do. You didn't see what I saw. You didn't see what when through his eyes when he flung himself on that Kunai! In that moment the Akatsuki, the war, none of that mattered. To him, we were just three little orphans again and he had a chance of saving you. He loved you Konan, you know it. Everything he did he did for you!"

"If he had loved me, he would have tried to save me." Konan's voice broke on her words. "He wouldn't have left me, left us."

"He did save you." Nagato wrapped his arms around Konan as she cried. "Now you need to live for him."

Sorry for the depressingness. I truly believe Konan had one of the saddest backstories, and it's my favourite backstory.
