A/N Sorry for being a day late. But with my new education on college I have to study real hard. ( It's been quite some years since I have seen a schoolbook from the inside.) So between my law books and the OS being hold right now I don't have much time to write. Don't worry the OS are only their for about 2 two weeks longer.
A/N 2 I know my muse and I are very spoiled with all the reviews so far, but we really really would be very happy if we get some more. We both live for them and for getting them from ya.
Back to the story.
Chapter 30
"Liv, you don't need to do that. You were in surgery and unconscious for heaven's sake, we know that. Amanda doesn't have to come inside for that." Abby answers softly, taking Olivia's hand in her own.
"Yes, I do. I do need to do that. Abby, I need to report it because I wasn't unconscious." Olivia says, as tears are rolling down her cheeks.
Abby gasps at Olivia's answer. Stunned for the Detective's answer. Taking a deep breath to calm herself down Abby looks at Olivia.
"What? How? How is that possible?" Abby asks softly.
"Dr. Brown waked me up, at least I assume it was her. When I woke up there was nobody else. She injected something and I couldn't move but I was still awake. That's how." Olivia answers softly.
"Oh my God. Oh, Liv. I'm so sorry." Abby says.
"Why? Why are you sorry, I mean? You haven't done anything wrong, Abs." Olivia says.
"I know that. It's just that I'm sorry you have been through so many awful, horrified trauma. Alex and you had been trough enough in your lives before all of this started. Does Alex knows this? Or Casey?" Abby asks.
"No they don't. So much happened after that. It's not that I want to hide it from Lex. Or Casey for that matter. But I couldn't find the right time to tell them. And after Brown told them, Liz and you would be there soon. Besides I was at the point of getting married. I wanted it to be as special as it could be given the circumstances and my headache was killing me already. I will tell them, just not now. Now lets get Amanda inside and get over with my statement, Abs." Olivia answers.
"I can understand why you haven't told them. Alex and you have been and still are in some kind of freaking roller coaster of bad things happening. Alright, I will get Detective Rollins inside. We can stop at any moment, Liv. If you need some time, just say it. The last thing I want is that it is to hard for you to handle or having an pain attack. Alex would kick my ass big time if I let that happen and do nothing to prevent it." Abby says, standing up.
"I will. Say it if I need a break I mean. I think I can handle it for now." Olivia answers.
"Ok. And do it, don't hold back." Abby says, walking to the door.
Olivia nods and Abby opens the door. Looking at Amanda.
"Rollins, come inside. Please." Abby says.
Amanda nods at Abby and walks inside. She doesn't know why she is here, but seeing only Olivia and Abby she has a feeling it's not about something good. Abby closes the door behind her and walks back to one side of Olivia's bed and takes a seat in the chair where Casey was sitting on earlier. Amanda walks to the end of Olivia's bed and stands there.
"How's your head feeling now?" Amanda asks, trying to break the ice a bit.
"Fine. Well as good as it can be of course. But definitely 100% better then a pain attack." Olivia answers.
"Good to hear. Now I'm sure I ain't here for nothing, so care to tell me why?" Amanda asks, with a gentle voice.
Olivia looks at Abby for a moment and Abby nods at Olivia to encourage her. Takes her hand and squeezes in it and let it go. Olivia turns back to look at Amanda.
"Rollins, I think you should take a seat. This can take a while. Do you have your notebook with you?" Olivia asks.
Hesitating Amanda looks at Abby, seeing the tall brunette's face she knows she better can do what Olivia is asking from her. And that she is here to take strong brunette's statement. Amanda grabs a chair and sit down on the other side of Olivia's bed.
"Yes I have it with me. Why?" Amanda asks, wanting to be sure.
"Because you have to take my statement. Donnelly is taking Alex's statement right now too. Well more like writing down my statement actually. Abby is gonna ask the questions." Olivia answers looking at Abby.
"Sorry to ask you this, and if it's none of my business, please tell me, but what am I doing here if Ms. Carmichael is gonna ask you the questions? Surely she can write it down herself, can't she?" Amanda asks.
"Yes, she can. And that's not why you are here. To write it down for her. You are here because I need to report... I need to report a rape." Olivia says softly, with a little bit of anger in her voice.
Amanda looks confused at Olivia and want to react but she is beaten by Abby speaking up.
"Just do it, Rollins. Please? Ya'll understand it soon enough why. No need to make this any more difficult then it already is, don't ya think?" Abby asks.
"No, of course not. Alright, I'll just listen. When the two of ya are done and I think there is something I should know, I'll ask it. Alright, Liv?" Amanda asks.
"Yes, Amanda. And I'm not mad at you. Just thinking about what happened, is causing me going trough an emotional roller coaster. And every time it is something different that I feel more." Olivia answers.
"Don't worry about that. I know you didn't meant it to be for me. And even if it would have been, I would have understand it. I can't imagen what it is that you and Alex of course are going through. You are one very strong woman, as is Alex, Liv. But you are also only human, it would have been strange or weird if you aren't emotional about this all." Amanda says sincerely.
"Thank you, Amanda. Now what I will report, I don't want you to talk about with the others, accept for Liz and the Cap. I haven't had the chance to talk about with Alex and I don't want her to hear from anyone else but me. I already hate it that I will talk about this with the two of you before I tell Lex." Olivia says.
"Ok. I won't." Amanda answers.
"Alright, do you want me to tell you everything or do you want me to answer your questions?" Olivia asks.
"What ever it is that you are comfortable with, Liv." Abby answers.
"Well we start at the beginning of everything that happened. I think I want to answer your questions." Olivia says.
"Alright. We'll start at the beginning and go from there." Abby says.
Olivia nods and Amanda takes out her notebook from her jacket. Ready to write down Olivia's answers.
Meanwhile in an other room Alex and Liz are sitting together. Fin is standing in front of the door. Determinate to keep Alex safe.
"How are the two of you holding up right now?" Liz asks.
"We are living, that's pretty much it, right now. As for holding up or not, I think we are doing it pretty well considering what's going on. That doesn't mean we break down every now and then. But it could have been going a lot worse I think. Liv is keeping it together so good, I'm proud of her. I only hope that she isn't shutting down and shutting me or Casey out. But I guess you could say the same thing for me. Honestly, we don't get time to think about things, every time we try or want to talk something else happens. I'm trying to be there for Liv the best I can. And she is doing the same for me. At least we are together in all this mess, this time. We have each other. And that is a big difference, I can tell you that. We don't have to suffer alone now." Alex says.
"That's true. You both are not alone now. And we all are there for both of you too, Alexandra. You two don't have to do it on your own. Casey will be there with you all the time, at least in Houston and when you are coming back everyone at the precinct and the DA's office will stand behind you two too. The ones that are closest to you will be there for you both when you need it. All you need to do is ask us if you need something or if there is anything that we can do." Liz says.
"I know that, we both do. But right now, we just want to be together and lean on Casey when needed. Maybe when we come back we will open up to others more. Aside from our statements that is of course. But I don't want to talk with anyone else besides Liv now, Casey being the exception. As for Liv, I think I will be glad if she will talk with me or Casey if she needs to. She is doing a great job so far. But I know it's not easy for her. She is used to do everything on her own her whole life. Letting others in or lean on them is new for her. But enough about that. You have a statement to take and I want to go back to my wife as soon as possible." Alex says.
Liz can't help it but to snicker a bit.
"That's one of the things that will never change between the two of you. You both don't have any patience at all when it comes to the other, Alexandra. Seriously, let's start with taking your statement, the sooner we are done, the sooner you can go back to Olivia. I think it's safe to say that she won't be calm until you are back." Liz says, a small smile at the corners of her mouth.
"That's an understatement. Actually if it takes too long I think she will climb out of her bed to start looking for me. No matter what Abby, Casey or everyone else will say or do. So let's get started indeed." Alex answers.
Abby is halfway through Olivia's statement when Munch calls Abby. He has the videotapes of Olivia's surgeries but he doesn't now what he should do with them. Knowing that Olivia don't want him, or the others probably, to look at them. So he decides to call the ADA and ask her what he should do with them.
Abby looks at her cellphone when it rings.
"I'll have to take this call, it's Munch." Abby says, picking up her phone.
"Carmichael. Is there something I can help ya with, John? Or can it wait? I'm busy right now." Abby asks.
"I just have a question. I'll keep it short. I've collected the videotapes of Liv's surgeries. What do want me to do with them? I haven't watched them or anyone else from us. I know Liv doesn't want us to do it." Munch answers.
"Good. Hand them over to Don. I will look at them with him when I have the time for it tonight or tomorrow." Abby answers.
"Alright, I'll hand them over to the Cap." Munch answers.
"Thank you. I need to go. Bye." Abby says before ending the call.
"Munch has the videotapes from your surgeries. He'll hand them over to Don, as you probably understood already. He told me that he nor the others had looked at them." Abby says.
"Good. I hope there is still something on them." Olivia says.
"That makes two of us. Now let's continue where we left before John called, shall we? Or do ya want a short break?" Abby asks.
"No, I just want to end this. So let's continue." Olivia answers.
Abby nods and they continue where they had left. At the end of her statement Olivia says she can't imagen that the surgeon assisting Brown doesn't know what happened. She never had seen anyone else besides Brown, but if the Dr. didn't lie about the part where she had said that he putted her in an drug induced coma, he should know something and keep quiet about it. Abby called Don and asked him to find out who was assisting Dr. Brown with that particular surgery and to bring him to him to station for questioning or to keep him in the hospital if he was here and wait for her to be there. Just when the had finished things up and Amanda was about to leave the room, Alex and Casey where back. Casey just came back when Alex did. Alex knocked on the door and peeked her head around the door.
"Are you finished with your statement or do Casey and I need to wait outside your room with Fin? Liz is also here." Alex asks.
"You and Casey can come inside. We are done, Amanda was about to leave when you knocked on the door." Olivia answers.
"Take care, Olivia. If there is something we or I can do for ya, let it know." Amanda says.
"Thank you." Olivia says.
Amanda stands up and walks towards the door when Alex and Casey steps inside. Amanda walks to Alex.
"Same goes for you too, Alex. If you need anything, anything at all, let it know." Amanda says.
The blonde Detective steps closer to the taller blonde ADA and hugs her. Alex freezes a little bit at fist when Amanda hugs her but after a second or two she returns the hug. At first Olivia is glad with the gesture Amanda is giving. But when Amanda doesn't let go of Alex after half a minute she is isn't that happy any more. Perhaps because of all the things that happened today and the past weeks are being the reason but Olivia gets insecure and jealousy is roaring it's head.
"I think it's time to let go of my wife, MY wife not yours, Detective Rollins." Olivia says coldly.
Both women let go of each other and turn to look at the now angry Detective. Confusion and surprise on Amanda's face. Alex looks at Olivia's face and looks her in the eyes and sees the anger but she sees something else, the fear and insecurity. And she understand the reaction, how unnecessary it may be. She walks to Olivia, looking at the Detective while walking to her and makes sure that all the love she has for the strong brunette is clearly in her eyes.
"You, my everything, is all I want and need. I know how uncertain everything is, but the one thing that is not, is my love for you, Liv." Alex says softly, as she climbs on the bed and as close as she can be against Olivia.
"Sorry, Amanda. I'm not having my day today." Olivia says.
"That's an understatement. Don't worry about it. I was just being surprised, nothing more. Nothing to be sorry about. I'll go now." Amanda answers.
Olivia nods and Amanda walks towards the door. Casey just has entered the room and holds open the door for Amanda. The two of them nod and greet each other. Then Amanda walks out the room and Casey closes the door behind the blonde Detective. She walks to Olivia's bed and takes a seat in the chair Amanda had pulled to the bed. Olivia looks briefly at Abby and Casey before she looks at Alex.
"I'm sorry, Lex. I don't now what's gotten into me. It's not that I don't trust you, because I do. At first I was happy to see Amanda hugging you, it means that you truly are family to her. But then it felt like it was too long and I was getting insecure and jealous I think. I know it totally crap, but somehow it felt wrong when there is absolutely no reason to be." Olivia says softly.
"I know. I could see it in your eyes. You apologized to Amanda, Liv. It's alright, I know you trust me, I know you love me. There is so much going on and you and I are only human. It's not strange that one of us can overreact a bit some times. And you're right there is no reason to fear. I won't leave your side, I won't leave you. No matter what happens. I'm sure, I will react like you some where along the road we have in front of us. And to be honest, it felt good too. It felt like you were protecting me. And that makes me knowing that as long as I'm with you I will be safe. Safe and loved. There is no one else that can give that feeling like you do. It went right, so don't worry about it, honey." Alex says softly.
"Thank you, Lex. For understanding this, understanding me." Olivia says.
"No need to thank me, my love." Alex answers.
"Not that I want to leave ya, because I don't, but is there something I can do for ya now or should I go to Don now?" Abby asks.
"I know you don't. But if you could go to the Captain, look and then come back here, it would mean a lot to me. Maybe we are finally getting some luck and I have one thing less to worry about. We have one thing less to worry about." Olivia answers.
"Yeah, sure. No problem. I'll go and find him. When we are done, I'm coming back here right away." Abby answers.
"Thank you, Abs. For everything. Being back at SVU, being a witness at our wedding, for doing this. Well you get the point I'm trying to make." Olivia says softly.
"Of course I'm here, Liv. That's what good friends are for. To be there for each other when it is needed the most. You don't need to thank me for that, but I get the point. Just for the record, there ain't a thing I wouldn't do for ya, ya know that right?" Abby asks.
"Yeah, I do. And there is nothing I wouldn't do for you too, either. Just for the record." Olivia says, half joking and being serious.
"I know. Alright, I'll get out of your hair for now. Don't worry, I'll be right back in it." Abby jokes.
"Go, Carmichael. I have enough people in my hair, and they all are looking out for me." Olivia laughs.
Abby smiles and nods. This was just what she tried to get, Olivia laughing. She stands up and hugs Olivia carefully. Then Abby walks around the bed and hugs Alex.
"See ya'll soon. Take care of each other will ya." Abby says softly.
"I will." Alex and Olivia say looking at each other before looking back at Abby.
"See ya later too, Casey." Abby says.
"See you, Abby." Casey answers.
Abby smiles at the redhead and turns around and walks out of Olivia's room, wanting to close the door behind her. But Professor Cavanaugh just walked to the room.
"Hello, Ms. Carmichael. Are they ready to see me?" Cavanaugh asks.
"Hello, Professor, I mean Angie. Yes they are. Ya are having some good news I hope?" Abby asks.
"It's not much, but I do." Cavanaugh answers.
"Good, they can use some good news, how big or little it may be. Now if you excuse me, I have something I need to take care of. I'm sure I will hear the news from Alex and Liv when I'm coming back." Abby says.
"Yes, of course. Don't let me hold you up, Counselor." Cavanaugh says.
"Angie." Abby says nodding.
"Ms. Carmichael." Cavanaugh says, nodding back.
Abby walks away pulling her cellphone to call Cragen. Professor Cavanaugh knocks on the door before she walks inside. Closing the door behind her. She walks to the end of Olivia's bed.
"How are you feeling, Detective? And you too of course, Alex." Cavanaugh asks.
"I'm good. No headache at the moment." Olivia answers.
"I'm good too, considering the circumstances." Alex answers.
"Good to hear. Well, finally I have some good news. Very small, but good. Houston has cleared you for flying to Houston, Detective. After I told them that you would be flying in a private jet, they gave their permission. We're due to leave in about 2 hours." Cavanaugh answers with a smile at the corners of her mouth.
At first Olivia looks relieved but then she frowns her eyebrows.
"Excuse me, did you say private jet? I don't understand how that can be good news. I don't have a private jet or access to one. Not with my salary." Olivia says confused.
Cavanaugh looks at Alex who smiles sheepishly at the Professor. And then looks at Olivia.
"Actually, you do have access to a private jet, Liv." Alex says carefully.
Hoping that the brunette won't get angry or stubborn when she finds out how she does have a private jet ready for her. Olivia now looks at Alex raising one eyebrow at the blonde ADA.
"And how is that possible? Care to enlighten me, Mrs. Benson?" Olivia asks.
"Well I, I mean we since we are married now, are having the possibility to use the private jet the Cabot Foundation has. That's how it's possible. I asked Angie to call Ron, the pilot flying for the foundation, if Houston would give their permission." Alex answers, waiting for the explosion to follow.
Just like Alex expected, Olivia put her heels in the sand.
"WHAT? No! Nuh uh. I'm not going to be a kept woman, Alexandra Benson-Cabot. Forget it. We'll go some other hospital or something, but that's not gonna happen. I always have been capable of supporting myself, I'm not starting to be a kept woman now." Olivia says through gritted teeth.
"Liv,..." Alex starts.
"Don't you Liv me, Counselor. It's not gonna happen. I'm not going to be a kept woman and let myself fly to Houston on your Foundation's jet." Olivia growls, interrupting Alex.
Alex sighs and looks at Angie.
"Could you give us a few minutes alone, please?" Alex asks.
"Yes, of course. Call me when you are ready." Cavanaugh answers and walks out of the room.
Alex turns back her head to face Olivia.
"Olivia Benson, you listen to me and you listen good, Detective! You are not a kept woman nor will you be. I know you always have supported yourself. And I'm not gonna change that or want you to change. You know I don't care about the money I have. I don't use it. I don't use my trust fund neither. I have a big apartment because I inherited it. Otherwise I wouldn't have lived in it. Hell, I like your apartment more then I do mine.
Now as for the jet, I want you and me in Houston as soon as possible. The only way that's gonna happen anytime soon is if we fly. And in order to get the permission from Houston for you to fly, it has to be with a private jet. The foundation, thankfully, has that private jet. It's not my jet, it's the Foundation's jet. Which, for this one exception, I've never used for private matter. I've almost never flew with it all. The same goes for my money. You made a promise to me. That you would let me do what was the best for you. So stop being so stubborn and let me help you. Let me help us. I want to have you around me and with me for quite a long time, many years. And if this helping me with that, then that's what I'll do." Alex says sternly.
"I do. I do let you help me. I've agreed with the best medical help I can get. As hard as is it for me to put my pride away, I have done that. But using a private jet is different. It's not necessary, we can wait until they give me permission to fly with a commercial airplane." Olivia argues.
"No we can not. You are keep having these awful pain attacks. You and I both know that they won't go away or at least getting less painful, not without treatments. So it is necessary to get you in Houston. Today or tomorrow that is. You don't allow Angie to put you in a drug induced coma to prevent them. Now I know you don't do that on purpose, but one way or they other, it's not working. So we don't have an other choice. Let me rephrase myself, we don't have a choice." Alex argues back.
"I know about the pain attacks. I'm the one having them, remember." Olivia answers angrily.
Casey looks at both women and knows this going nowhere. She stands up and walks to door of Olivia's room.
"Where the hell do you think you are going, Novak?" Olivia asks.
"Leaving the room for a moment. Don't worry I don't want to miss much." Casey answers a bit sarcastically, before leaving the room.
Outside the room Casey pulls out her cellphone and calls the one person she thinks can change the stubborn Detective's mind.
"Carmichael." Abby says, answering her cellphone.
"Abby, it's Casey. How far are you with doing what you needed to do?" Casey asks.
"Halfway through it. Why?" Abby answers.
"Long story short, Houston has given Olivia permission to fly to them with a private jet. Alex arranged for them to fly with the Foundation's jet. But Liv is being her stubborn self and refuses to go with it. Not wanting to be a kept woman. She and Alex are arguing about it. Now Alex is right with what she has said, but Liv won't have it. I need someone that kicks Liv's ass and gets her on that jet. And I thought that the only person, besides Alex, that is able to do that is you. I don't know you very well, obviously, but somehow I have the feeling that I'm right about this. So can you come back here for a moment and try to get Liv to enter that damn jet?" Casey asks.
"Of course Liv is being pig headed and refuses to go. Alright, I'll be there in a few minutes. Try to keep them from getting into one of their legendary fights, if it's possible." Abby answers.
"I'll try the best I can. But I think she will be biting my head off if I try too hard. So come here as quickly as you can, please." Casey says.
"I will. See you soon, Casey." Abby says.
"See you soon, Abby." Casey answers back and ends the call.
Casey takes a deep breath before getting back in the room. Hoping that things won't blow full forced before the tall Texan is there. Although the argument is getting harder Alex and Olivia stay calm and civilized for their standards. As promised Abby is there a few minutes later. Knocks on the door before she walks inside and closes the door behind her. Getting in the middle of the argument.
"Stop acting like a cranky two year old toddler. Whether you agree with it or not, you know I'm right. You can come up with everything you can think of but it won't change a damn thing." Alex growls.
"I'm acting like a cranky two year old? How about yourself? You are being real mature right now. It doesn't matter if I agree with you or not, which I don't obviously. You are right, what ever you say it won't change a damn thing. I'm not going." Olivia growls back.
Abby heard enough and knows too that this won't go anywhere.
"Yes you are. You are getting your ass on that jet, and you let yourself fly to Houston. As you describe it. Ya better don't make me kick your ass to get you on it. Ya know I will. I don't care if you are injured or not." Abby says sternly.
"You can't make going, no matter how hard you think you can kick my ass. You can't force to do it against my will. You can't get me on the damn jet, Counselor." Olivia spats.
"Ya see that's where you're wrong, Detective. I can get you on that jet, if ya want it or not. So you better get on it without my interference. Because ya certainly gonna hate that. That's something you can count on." Abby answers calmly.
"And how do you think you can do that?" Olivia asks.
"Oh that's easy, I just asks Cavanaugh to sedate you. You will be out long enough to get you on the jet and flying to Houston before you wake up." Abby answers sweetly.
"Ha, you can't do that. You're not my MPA, Angie can't do if you are asking her that. Told you that you can't make me go." Olivia answers.
"Yes she can. I ain't you're MPA, but Alex and Casey are. And I'm sure that if I asks Cavanaugh it, one of them will agree with it. So I can make you go." Abby says.
"You won't do that." Olivia says.
"Try me, Detective. That's the only way ya gonna find that out." Abby says smiling smugly.
Olivia knows that Abby is capable of actually doing that. Now with Alex she is not sure completely that she will agree to it, but with Casey she is sure that she will agree with it. The shorter brunette knows that she is beaten.
"Fine, I'll go on the damn jet. Just don't expect a thank you card or gift. You can be waiting for that a very long time, if you want it." Olivia says setting her jaw.
"Don't worry, I won't expecting that for the next few days, weeks or so on." Abby smirks.
Alex and Casey are both looking relieved. Alex looks at Abby and mouthed 'thank you' at the brunette ADA. Abby just smiles back.
"Well now that it's settled I'll go back to Don. I'll be back as soon as I'm done." Abby says.
Abby salutes at her head as a manor of greeting and turns around and walks out the room.
"Damn Texan." Olivia mutters under her breath.
Alex just shakes her head and pusses on the call button for the Professor. Professor Cavanaugh arrives about 3 minutes later.
"You called, Detective. What can I do for you?" Cavanaugh asks.
"No I didn't." Olivia says, the irritation slightly audible in her voice.
"I called, Angie. Can you cal Ron and ask him to be ready half an hour later then agreed? We need some time to get some things packed." Alex asks.
"Yes of course. So, you changed your mind, Detective?" Cavanaugh asks.
"No, I haven't. Damn Carmichael made me go." Olivia grumbles, pouting like a cranky toddler.
Alex and Casey try not to burst out in laughter, knowing it won't help them to calm down the moody Detective.
A/N 3 Ya really didn't think I would let you all know what happened to Liv before she at least would tell it Alex, don't ya? I think that Alex deserves to know it at the same time as all of ya.
