"Would you two care to explain to me why you infiltrated Konoha, defeated several of their elite Jonin and came face to face with the Kyuubi Jinchuuriki, and still failed to capture him and bring him to us?" Pain glared at the pair infront of him.
"Itachi, you want to take this?" Kisame drawled.
"And deny you the opportunity to call my loyalty into question? Never."
"Itachi made an error of judgement." Kisame faced their leader. "He decided that torturing his little brother was more important than capturing the Jinchuuriki."
"You could have taken Naruto." Itachi reminded the sharkman.
"I was busy dealing with a Sannin and that bloody 'Green Beast of Konoha' or whatever it is he calls himself."
"Shut up." Pain muttered, why was he cursed with such incompetent subordinates. "The only person who made an error was me when I left you two in charge of such an important task. Next time try not to let your emotions get in the way of your duties."
