Chapter 32
When Casey came back from all of their apartments she found Abby sitting in front of Olivia's room chatting with Fin. They were talking softly so they wouldn't wake up Alex and Olivia. Casey joined them taking a seat next to the Texan. Since Casey came with an hour left, she went inside half an hour before they were due to leave. She knocked on the door and went inside closing the door behind her. Tears were forming in her eyes at the sight in front of her.
It looked like Alex wanted to climb into Olivia and since this isn't possible she was laying half on top of her. Her arms around the Detective and their legs intertwined. Because of their body heat one of them had trapped the blankets to the end of the bed. Olivia had her right arm loosely around Alex waist, but it was obvious that she wanted to protect the blonde attorney on top of her. Casey noticed that Olivia didn't woke up from the knocking on the door and took the opportunity that was there to take a picture of the sleeping women. After she was done she called Olivia softly from across the room. Knowing that was the safest place to be and being able to call the brunette. As soon as Casey called the strong brunette, Olivia wakes up. Looking up quickly to see who called her and when she sees it's Casey she lowers her eyes and looks at the sleeping beauty in her arms and half on top of her. As Olivia looks at Alex there comes a smile on her face. Growing wider the longer she looks at the blonde ADA. Casey softly clears her throat to get the Detective's attention.
"Liv, we are leaving in proximately half an hour. Take your time to wake up. Just thought I should call you earlier, so that you two have some time. Abby and I are waiting for you to get ready, in front of your room with Fin." Casey says softly.
"Thanks, Case. See you soon then. The two of you can come inside in 20 if you want it." Olivia answers softly back.
Casey nods and turns around to leave the room. Closing the door behind her and giving Alex and Olivia some privacy to wake up together. She takes back her seat next to Abby again. Fin was standing 20 feet away talking with Cragen. Casey turns her head back to look at the Texan. Pulling out her cellphone to show her the picture she took. She knows that both Alex and Olivia don't want anyone else but Abby to see it so now is a good moment.
"Hey Abby, I took a picture from Alex and Olivia while they were sleeping. They looked so sweet together. Wanna see it? Fin is over there so it's safe now." Casey asks.
Abby's eyes light up and she eagerly nods. Casey looks for the picture and shows it at Abby.
"Wow that's so sweet. They both look so happy. Looking at them being like this, they show us once again that they belong to each other. I hope one day I will find someone who gives me the same feeling they have for each other." Abby says softly, with a smile on her face.
"That makes two of us then." Casey answers softly, blushing a bit.
"Did ya wake them up though?" Abby asks.
"Yes. Olivia that is. Alex was still asleep when I left the room again. Liv will wake her up. She told me that if we wanted to come inside we should be there in 20, well 18 or so now of course." Casey answers.
"You will keep me posted when your in Houston, won't ya?" Abby asks.
"Of course. If and when, I have the time and something new is up I will tell you all." Casey answers.
"Well I doubt Alex will be returning immediately as soon as y'all are coming back. So it will probably be just you and me, Novak. Not that I have a problem with that. Just thinking out loud." Abby says.
"I think you're right about that, as long as Donnelly will allow it I think Alex want to stay with Olivia. Assuming that Olivia will let her of course. We all know a mule is less stubborn then Detective Badass Benson." Casey's smirking about her last comment.
"Well feel free to come by, anytime ya want to stay out of line of fire when those two are fighting like cats and dogs about that." Abby snickers.
"Thank you for the offer and maybe some time I'll take it up. Or I just come and get you to kick their asses if I can't get them to shut up." Casey winks.
"Yeah and there is that of course. Oh well if you are sick and tired of it and need them to shut up, come and get me. I'll be more then happy to help ya." Abby smiles.
"I think we will get along together, Carmichael." Casey says.
"I think so too, Novak." Abby answers.
Casey and Abby went inside 10 minutes before Alex, Olivia and Casey should be ready to leave. The four women talked about some light subjects. Neither of them wanted to talk about what happened the last weeks. Angie came inside and talked with them about the transportation to the airport. Olivia and Alex would go with an ambulance and Abby and Casey would follow them with Casey's car, that Abby would take back and bring to Casey's apartment. Fin was following them with an unmarked car. The problems about their transport started when Angie wanted to take Olivia in her bed to the ambulance and Olivia, of course, refused it. Angie was met with the extremely stubborn person Olivia can be. Alex had putted the fight to an end by giving them both a bit of what they wanted. So in the end Olivia would be brought to the ambulance with a "freaking" wheelchair as the brunette called it. Along with some dirty language. But she gave in to Alex and they finally could leave. 1 hour later the jet was leaving the airport and on it's way to Houston with Alex, Olivia, Casey and Angie on board. On board of the jet was large sofa that could be turned into a bed. At first Olivia didn't want to lay down on it but after Alex agreed to lay down with her and that Casey would come to the two of them once in a while or when they wanted it, Olivia agreed and went to lay down. Angie had medication and supplements with her just in case. She also had information with her so that she could update the team in Houston as soon as they arrived at the clinic there. And all the forms were signed and taken care of.
Now the four women were together on and around the sofa chatting with each other and some music playing on the background. At one moment Olivia heard the tunes of a song she really liked and it was like it was written for Alex, at least that's how Olivia felt it. She asks Casey to turn up the volume and Alex to listen to the lyrics. Casey turns up the volume and they all listen to the song.
When I saw your face for the first time,
it was like heaven send down an angel just for me.
True love was in front of me.
It's you I've been waiting for you unconsciously.
You broke down my walls so easily.
Made me see the person I used to be.
It's you who set me free.
It's you who set me free,
I never thought love could be so beautiful.
I never thought love could be so free.
And yet here you are loving me.
You broke down my walls so easily.
Made me see the person I used to be.
It's you who set me free.
It's you who set me free.
When I'm down, you pull me up.
When I'm sad, you make me smile.
Should I fall, I know you'll catch me.
All of this makes me love you even more.
You broke down my walls so easily.
Made me see the person I used to be.
It's you who set me free.
It's you who set me free.
Because you love me unconditionally.
After the song ended Casey turns back the volume but it was silent for a moment. And there were four women with watery eyes. Alex was really touched with the song knowing it was how Olivia felt she was to the brunette. Casey was a bit emotional because she thought about how true the song was for the both of them, actually.
"This is what you mean to me, what you are to me, Lex. The song says what I can't tell with words myself." Olivia whispers softly.
Alex puts both her hands around Olivia's face and kisses her with all she has. All that she feels for the brunette she puts into that one kiss. Knowing that words couldn't come close to describe what she felt right at that moment. When breathing becomes necessary Alex pulls back and leans with her forehead against Olivia's.
"I love you, Olivia Benson. No matter what happens, I will always love you." Alex says softly.
"I love you too, Alexandra Benson-Cabot. You have my heart and soul as long as I live. I always will love you too." Olivia answers softly.
Casey and Angie tip toed away to go and sit in the front of the jet, giving Alex and Olivia some privacy.
They could use it right now and they certainly needed this. A difficult time laying ahead for them. Alex and Olivia were laying down together, connecting to each other with their hearts, souls and at some level with their body's since they were kissing each other and slowly making out. Forgetting everything else in the world except for each other at those specific moments.
A/N 2 I know this is not really a chapter ( for my standards that is) but I wanted to have something 'light' for our ladies and you and I. Before the next stage, the clinic, in Houston starts.
A/N 3 Title of the song: Set me free
Which I actually do owe. I've written it myself, for my girlfriend. So I want to dedicate this song and chapter to her. This one is for you, honey.
