Love Letter

"Why did I have to go and fall in love?" Naruto leaned his head back on the tree. "This sucks, it's like this massive thing I want to talk about but can't."

"I'm confused." Sai looked up from his scroll. "It love is a good thing, why are you depressed?"

"Because I can't put it into words and every time I'm near her my brain turns to mush and I can't make the words."

"She managed to confess her love to you twice, once while facing down Pain, the other during the middle of a war, and you can't manage to say, 'Hey I like you too.'" Sai turned back to his scroll.

"And I don't even know if she still likes me." Naruto tore up some grass. "Love is stupid."

"I read in a book that women like receiving love letters."

"I thought we burned all of your books?"

"Irrelevant, I committed those book's to memory."

"You . . . What?" Naruto sighed. "It doesn't matter, I can't put my thoughts into words any way."

"Draw her a picture."

"Sai, I'm terrible at art."

"If it comes from the heart, that's all that matters."

"Stop quoting your books at me."

"I was quoting Ino."

"Even worse." Naruto looked thoughtful for a moment. "Can I borrow a pen and paper?"

Sai handed over his spare art supplies. "What are you doing?" He asked as the blond carefully drew on a piece of paper.

"This!" Naruto held up his finished work.

"An eye, a heart and a Sunflower?"

"Yup." Naruto folded the paper and scrawled For Hinata on it.

"How will she know it's from you?"

"I used an orange pencil, didn't I?"

Partly inspired by the request, partly inspired by a t-shirt I saw today (It had an eye, a heart, John Keys face, a tree and sheet music. Only kiwis will get this). Oh and it's Waitangi day today, and 111 is the New Zealand equivalent of 911. Start's singing 'God Defend New Zealand'.
