It was small. It was insignificant. It meant the world to her.

It was a line on Kanji on her left thigh which read If your eyes aren't open, you won't know the difference between sleep and wakefulness.

It had hurt like a bitch getting it, what tattoo didn't? But it was filled with so much meaning. Her Kekkei Genkai. Her struggles through the war. Her cousins death (if her eyes hadn't been open, she wouldn't have believed it). And it served as a reminder, to not only use her gifts in defence of those closest to her, but to be thankful for her friends and her family, without them she would be nothing.

It may have been small. It may have been considered insignificant by the rest of the world. But to Hinata, those words meant everything.
