Chapter 43- Pinkie Pie and Twilight's Mission

Me: Alright everyone, it's time we finished this mission.

Twilight: You mean it's time we finished this mission.

Me: Yes, thank you. Anyway, I don't own the rights to Naruto Shippuden or My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

I walked down the street heading in to town that night. With Twilight and Pinkie Pie out on the very important mission, all I could do was wait until they returned. They were out gathering information using their Path powers. When they would return, I didn't know. I had been sitting anxiously in my office for a few hours before finally deciding to head out for some fresh air. I walked through the town and looked at all of the dark homes, the occupants having retired to sleep already. Sometimes I envied them. They didn't have a care in the world, and could sleep when they pleased. I, on the other hand, felt as if the weight of Equestria itself was on my shoulders. In a way, it was. The entire country of Equestria was counting on me, and the others of course, to end this war and bring peace to the world once again. Peace, as far as I knew, was also out of the question. Considering Nightmare Moon's motives for starting this war were unknown to me, we had no way of negotiating with her. That was partially why I had sent Twilight and Pinkie Pie out on their mission. Princess Celestia had contacted me in secret and asked me to find a way to convince Nightmare Moon to peacefully end the war. I understood where she was coming from, seeing as Nightmare Moon was the evil form of her sister. I understood why she didn't want her to die. Negotiations, however, seemed highly unlikely at this point. Still, I would give my everything to try and end this war peacefully. Well, as peacefully as I could, still having to defeat Queen Chrysalis and her Changeling Army, as well as the anti-forces of Nightmare Moon. We had found out early on in the war that Nightmare Moon had made clones of everyone; only, they were the "anti" form of that person. The strength of that army was far greater than our own for the time being. The Anti-Clones, as we had decided to call them, were the exact opposite of whom they represented (save for gender). The abilities of said clones are currently unknown, as no one has been allowed to engage in battle with these forces. At that moment there was a noise behind me. I turned around sharply and was met with Nightmare Moon herself. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "Oh relax, I'm not here to cause anyone harm. I just wanted to remind you of our little conversation the other day." She said. "Like I'd ever join you. My friends are counting on me, and I'd never betray them." I said. She laughed. "I wonder about that." She said. I clenched my fist. "What are you saying?" I asked. "I'm saying that you hold onto your friends tightly. You say you'd never betray them, but they've already betrayed you." She said. "What do you mean? They would never do such things!" I said. "Oh no? Twilight herself allowed Queen Chrysalis to enter Ponyville and capture your dear Rarity." She said. "She would never do that, at least not on purpose. She knows that Queen Chrysalis is a danger to everyone, and, if she met her face to face, I'm sure she would take that opportunity to defeat Queen Chrysalis." I said. She laughed. "You are adorable, you know that? You honestly believe that your friends would never betray you, that they have nothing to hide. Let me ask you this, do you really know your friends?" She asked. I stared at the ground. Could there be something they're hiding from me? How did Queen Chrysalis manage to get into Ponyville? I could understand how Nightmare Moon could do that, being a former princess. I shook my head. "I won't join you, they would never betray me. I know this for a fact. I believe in them, just as they believe in me." I said. "Well, you can't blame me for trying. Just keep it in mind; I'm sure you'll understand sooner or later." She said. With that she laughed and disappeared.

I continued on my way through Ponyville. I walked out of the town and toward the edge of the barrier. I saw that it was fading in and out sporadically. It wasn't easy keeping up this barrier, much less from a far distance. If they encountered any resistance, the barrier, I feared, would fade completely. The barrier was the only thing protecting Ponyville against attacks from either the Changeling Empire or the anti-forces of Nightmare Moon. However, this war was going a little too we'll for us, and if I knew anything about war, it was that there were no one-sided victories. Something was bound to happen eventually, that much was inevitable. The barrier continued to fade in and out as I watched it. I then remembered about the barrier placed around Canterlot. No doubt that was going through the same thing as this one. Suddenly the sporadic fading of the barrier began to quicken, and the barrier shook violently, like the static of an electronic device when a magnet was dragged in front of it. A few moments later the barrier shattered like glass and faded away completely.

My eyes widened when this happened. I might have just jinxed Ponyville. It was almost comical, really. For the moment, everything was silent, save for the chirping of the grasshoppers. I immediately looked through the crow vision. I looked through a crow who was perched on a windowsill looking into a big room. I saw Twilight and Pinkie Pie standing in front of a foe I had not seen before. He was a black colt dressed in a chest plate and wearing a blood-red cape. His skin was a pitch-black. It was to the point that if he wasn't in the light, you wouldn't be able to see him, save for his eyes, which shone with a combination of black and gold. He had a horn on his head the same color as his body. When he spoke the room shook slightly, but soon after I noticed this was not because of his voice, but because of the foundations of the building growing unstable. The building stopped shaking after a few seconds. "Well, well, well. What do we have here? A pink pony with a positive energy, and a princess." He said. He looked at Pinkie Pie. "I sense some darker things within you, some things that conflict with how you appear right now." He said. Darker things? What could he mean by that? I thought. He then turned to Twilight. "I sense a number of feelings in you, princess. Anger, sadness, jealousy, frustration. It's a wonder you're still sane with so many feelings." He said. Twilight clenched her teeth. " made you angry, did I?" He said smiling. He chuckled. "Well, it doesn't matter anyway. There's nothing you can do to harm me." He said. "We'll just see about that." Pinkie Pie said. He laughed. "You honestly think you can defeat me? I'd like to see that." He said. She smiled. "Alright, if you insist." She said. At that moment the King of Hell was summoned and grabbed hold of him.

Pinkie smiled. "Now tell me, what is your name?" She asked. Good, if this guy lied, then the battle would be over right then. I thought. "My name is Dissidence." He said. The King of Hell grabbed his tongue. After a few seconds he let go of it again and sank back into the ground. So this guy's name is Dissidence, is it? I thought. He coughed, as per the usual reaction, but otherwise wasn't affected by it. "Was that the best you could do? If so, then it appears my first opinion on you was right." He said. "Hey you leave her alone! I'll deal with you!" Twilight said. "Is that right? And what could you do?" He asked. Twilight concentrated and her horn was surrounded either a purple aura. A fireball many times the size of the one she had shown me formed in front of her. Pinkie Pie also looked at Twilight in surprise. "Wow! When did you learn to do that?" She asked. "I had learned the spell a few years ago, but Tid inspired me to keep working on it." She said. "Tid? Is that the name of the one whom you are jealous of?" Dissidence asked. "Jealous? I'm not jealous of him." Twilight said. "No?but you are jealous of somebody, I know that much." He said. "Stop talking!" She said and launched the fireball at him. His horn was surrounded with a black aura and a black beam of magic shot from it, piercing the fireball. The fire dissipated before it could touch him. "You know, it is said the person who inspires us is often the one we hate the most. Are you sure you aren't jealous of Tid?" He asked. "What are you talking about? I'm not jealous of Tid, nor do I hate him." She said. "Then, who might it be?" He asked. I could see Twilight start to shudder. "Leave her alone! You have no right to treat her like that!" Pinkie said. "On the contrary, I have every right to treat her like this. After all, I'm not lying to her. I'm only trying to figure out her emotions. She has quite a bit of jealousy and anger in her, as well as a twinge of sadness. What's the matter, can't handle the tough job of being a princess? Think you might not be cut out for it? It's not surprising, considering the standards you have to live up to. Maybe this is where your sadness lies? What about your jealousy? If it's not toward Tid, is it maybe toward someone that's close to him? Someone he chose over you? You're jealousy and longing are both aimed at the same place, this much I can tell. Are you perhaps in love with him?" He said. Twilight couldn't stand it anymore. "Shut up! You don't know anything about me! If you continue to say such lies, I'll kill you!" She said. A purple aura surrounded her horn once more, but this time it surrounded her entire body. I could see she was very angry. Her rage had finally reached it's limit. "Lies? I'm sure you know that I'm not lying. I can see your emotions as clear as day. You just don't want to face the truth." He said. She screamed with rage. She flew into the air using her wings. She built up magic around her horn and fired a beam at him. He matched it with a beam of his own. The two beams collided in mid-air, causing a burst of light to illuminate the room for a split-second. The two beams continued to compete. Sweat ran down Twilight 's face, while Dissidence looked up contently at the two beams. It seemed as if he wasn't exerting much force at all. Pinkie Pie took this opportunity to run up to him. She punched him in the face saying: "I just wanna see you smile!" I didn't understand why she said it, but I didn't pay it much attention. Dissidence flew a short distance before landing on the ground. He got up and gave a furious glance at Pinkie Pie. Twilight was still in the air. "Why you!" He said sending a burst of black magic at Pinkie. She dodged it started running to the other wall. "You can't escape!" He said. Just then Pinkie Pie stopped dead in her tracks. Her eyes widened as she stood there, paralyzed. Her expression changed to one of fear. She seemed to be seeing something incredibly frightening. Tears formed in her eyes as she continued to stand there. "No, please, I'm sorry! I didn't mean it! Please, don't go!" She said. Dissidence laughed. "See, what did I tell you? You can't escape your emotions!" He said. Twilight then looked at Pinkie Pie. She floated back down to the ground and ran to her friend's aid. "What did you do to her?!" Twilight asked furiously. He smiled. "She's watching her greatest fears play out before her. It appears they have changed since that incident a while ago." He said. Twilight thought for some time before her eyes widened. "You mean that incident?" She asked. He nodded. Just then Pinkie began to laugh. It wasn't her normal laugh, more like an insane laughter. She continued to laugh and her pupils started to look in different directions, dilating as they did so. She turned around to look at Dissidence. The loud laughter she had been exerting dialed down to a chuckle. She ran at him with speed I never thought was possible for her and she kicked him in the face, sending him into the wall. His eyes widened. "So this is that dark presence I had seen within her." He said. She ran up to him and started punching him in the face repeatedly. Blood started to come from his face. The blood splattered all over Pinkie Pie as she kept punching him in the face. "Pinkie that's enough!" Twilight said. Pinkie stopped punching Dissidence and turned to look at Twilight, a wicked grin on her face. She then ran at Twilight. She tackled Twilight to the ground and tried to punch her, but she was stopped by a purple aura that surrounded her hoof. "Pinkie Pie it's me, Twilight! Remember me?" She asked. Pinkie Pie still tried to punch her in the face. Twilight touched the tip of her horn to Pinkie's forehead and a burst of purple magic surrounded them. Pinkie's eyes returned to normal and she fell backward. She sat up and shook her head, placing her hoof to her forehead. "What happened?" She asked. "I'll fill you in later, but for now let's defeat this guy." Twilight replied. Pinkie nodded. Twilight leaned in and whispered something to Pinkie Pie that I couldn't hear and they both nodded. They stood up and Pinkie Pie ran at Dissidence again. He flinched slightly at the sight of her approach, his face still bleeding. One eye was swollen shut. She jumped and attempted to kick him, but he blocked it. She ran around him, forcing him to turn around. At that moment Twilight ran forward. "You can't defeat me at hoof-to-hoof combat! I was the greatest in the Academy!" He said. "I'm only the distraction." Pinkie Pie said. "What?!" He asked quickly turning around. He had turned around just in time for Twilight to place her hoof on his chest. "That's your trump card? How is that supposed to defeat me?" He asked incredulously. "It's over." Twilight said grinning. At that moment she pulled and ripped his soul from his body. It was a black color and looked like a see through shell of his body. His body collapsed with empty eyes. The soul went inside of Twilight's horn. Using the Human Path's abilities to defeat him, well done. I thought. Pinkie Pie and Twilight looked at each other and smiled. "Come on, let's go give this information to Tid." Twilight said. Pinkie nodded and they walked out of the room.
