Chapter 58- The Final Battle

Me: Alright this is going to be one intense ride, so get ready.

Tid: I wonder who will win?

Me: You know I can't spoil anything. I don't own the rights to Naruto Shippuden or My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

I sat on the ground and concentrated to find Nightmare Moon. Using my Mangekyou Rinnegan I was able to track the life energy of powerful beings. To the South East, in Ponyville, I sensed the energy of the others. There were seven energies that I detected to be allies, which meant they were all still alive. They were surrounded by many dark energies of almost equal strength. It must have been a fierce battle. A few kilometers to the North of that was a very powerful dark energy that could only be Nightmare Moon. I opened my eyes and stood up. I considered going to face Nightmare Moon right then, but it would've been suicide. There was no point in fighting if there was no chance of winning. At this point I couldn't even weaken her. I needed the others, but I had no way to contact them. Then it hit me. I ran in the direction of Inoichi's house. He was the one person I knew who had the ability to get my thoughts to the others.

A few minutes later I arrived at his home that I had built for him. He was outside, sitting cross-legged on the ground with his hands in a hand sign I hadn't seen before. "Inoichi!" I said. He opened his eyes and looked up at me. "Oh, there you are, Tid. I've been expecting you." He said. "What do you mean?" I asked. "I've finished the improvements on the Mind Body Switch technique. Although, I can see we have bigger problems on our hands." He said. "Yeah, we do. I need you to patch me in to the others. I have a message for them." I said. "Alright, but I can only patch you through for twenty seconds, so make it quick." He said. I nodded. He stood up and placed his palm on my forehead. I could see the others fighting the Anti-Forces. "Everyone, listen to me. I don't have much time, so pay attention. I've located Nightmare Moon, however I'm all out of Chakra. I'm going to need you guys to teleport a few kilometers North of your current location. I will meet you there shortly." I said. They all nodded and the communication ended. I opened my eyes and saw Inoichi standing there. Blood was dripping from his nose. "Are you alright?" I asked. "Yeah, I'm fine. You hurry up and meet with the others." He said. I nodded. Just as I was about to leave he stopped me. "Wait, here, take this." He said. I turned around and saw him pull out a small case of food pills. "Food pills?" I asked. He nodded and handed them to me. "They were given to me by Choza Akimichi. They are special Chakra enhancing food pills. I thought you'd need them." He said. "Thank you." I said taking the container. I turned around and started running away. I looked down at the food pills. I stopped and opened the case. I would need to get there as quickly as possible, and I didn't have enough Chakra left to transport myself there through my earth travel. I took out the green one and popped it into my mouth. Once I swallowed it I felt a crippling pain in my stomach. I doubled over, gripping my stomach. Then, as quickly as it had come, the pain subsided and I felt a massive surge of Chakra. I stood up and raised two fingers in front of me. I slowly sank into the ground and reemerged at the location where I had told the others to meet me. At that exact moment the others appeared a short distance away from me. I walked over to them. "I'm so glad you guys were able to make it." I said. "Well of course, dear. It's going to take more than a few hundred Anti-clones to stop us." Rarity said.

"Well look at what we have here, it looks like the gang's all here." I heard a voice say. I looked over and saw Nightmare Moon in the air. I scowled. Our happy reunion was instantly shattered as we faced reality. "Well? Aren't you going to defeat me? What are you waiting for?" She asked. I turned to Twilight. "Twilight, I don't have much Chakra left. Would you mind using your medical ninjutsu to heal me? I know you can restore at least a little of my Chakra." I said. "I'm not sure how much I could do, but I'll try." She said. "We'll cover you." Rainbow Dash said. I nodded. I sat on the ground and Twilight came up behind me. She placed her hooves on my back and a green energy flowed from between her hooves. I could feel my Chakra being restored little by little. The others stood in front of us, forming a wall between Twilight and I and Nightmare Moon. "Isn't that precious. Now, let's see what you've got!" She said. A green aura surrounded her horn and she fired a beam of magic at them. Applejack stepped forward and absorbed the attack using a barrier. Rainbow Dash flew up to Nightmare Moon, turning her hooves into blades. She flew at blinding speeds, coming dangerously close to Nightmare Moon. Nightmare Moon laughed. "Oh come now, is that the best you can do?" She asked. A black aura surrounded her body and rapidly expanded outwards in a burst of magic. Rainbow Dash was sent crashing to the ground. She struggled to get up. "Itachi, can I ask you to use that, Susano'o as I recall, of yours? I have an idea." Rarity said. He nodded. His Susano'o burst to life. Nightmare Moon's eyes widened. "Well, it seems your team isn't as weak as I thought." She said. At that moment Nightmare Moon began to fly toward Itachi's Susano'o. No, she wasn't flying toward it, she was being pulled! I looked over and saw a blue aura surrounding Rarity's horn. She was using the Universal Pull technique. Itachi raised his hand and his Susano'o raised the Totsuka Blade. He brought it down as Nightmare Moon came within range. It was about to strike her when it suddenly stopped. Itachi's eyes widened in surprise. "What?" He asked. Nightmare Moon was using her magic to push the Totsuka Blade away from her. The Totsuka Blade crashed into the ground next to the others. Itachi's Susano'o grabbed Nightmare Moon using its second right hand. She struggled to break free of its grasp, but the Susano'o refused to let go. Her horn was once again surrounded by a green aura. She gathered the energy into a gigantic ball and launched it full-force at the center of the Susano'o. It collided and continued to press against the Susano'o. Itachi's eyes widened as cracks began to appear in its armor. "Applejack!" I shouted. "I'm on it!" She said leaping over to it. She began to absorb the energy of the sphere, but it was too late. Itachi's Susano'o shattered and the sphere collided with Itachi. He was sent flying backward and landed behind Twilight and I. "Itachi!" I said. He struggled to his feet. "I'm... Alright." He said clutching his shoulder, which was now bleeding. Blood was running from the corners of his mouth as well. "Stay back, I don't want you getting any more injured than you already are. If you must battle, use long-ranged combat." I said. He nodded. Nightmare Moon laughed. "Seems as if even Itachi Uchiha can't defeat me!" She said. This was very bad.

Nightmare Moon looked at Fluttershy. "I'm curious as to what you can do." She said. "Fluttershy, be very careful when you use your power." I warned. She nodded. "Ooh, she needs to be careful, does she? I'm excited to see what she can do!" Nightmare Moon said. Fluttershy flew high into the air and summoned Ryujin. Nightmare Moon teleported as Ryujin was about to crush her. They landed on the ground with a crash. "My, I have to say you surprised me with that. I was almost crushed." She said. "Who's this?" Ryujin asked regarding Nightmare Moon. "That's Nightmare Moon. She's the one who started this war." Fluttershy replied. "Ah, I see. Eh? What happened to you, Tid?" He asked when he saw me. "I got into a huge fight earlier. It completely drained me of my Chakra." I replied. "Ah, I see. Alright then. Let's kick some ass!" He said. He changed into his lightning form. Electricity moved between his scales. "Well, this seems to be a worthy challenge." Nightmare Moon said. Ryujin moved forward and attempted to hit her. She avoided the attack, then avoided his other swipe. "Tricky little bastard." He said. He swung his tail but she stopped that using her magic. He weaved hand signs. "Lightning Style: Lightning Spear!" He said thrusting his right hand forward. Strong bolts of electricity gathered in his hand, forming a sphere from which a gigantic bolt of lightning burst forth. Nightmare Moon's eyes widened as the bolt raced toward her. Maybe I didn't need to get involved after all. These hopes were dashed as the bolt of lightning split in two around Nightmare Moon. A black magic formed a barrier in front of herself. When the bolt of lightning ceased, the barrier in front of her also disappeared. Ryujin grabbed her in his hand and began to crush her. Suddenly he yelled with pain and he opened his hand, releasing Nightmare Moon. His hand was smoking and there were green flames burning on his palm. "Sorry Tid, but I can't do too much more." He said. "It's fine, you gave it your all." I said. He nodded and vanished. "Aw, over already? I was just beginning to get excited." Nightmare Moon said. She turned her attention back to Fluttershy. "Seems like that's all you've got. I'm finished with you." She said. She blasted her with a burst of green magic and Fluttershy crashed to the ground. "Fluttershy!" I shouted. She struggled to rise to her feet, but collapsed. That was already three of us down.

Twilight stopped her ninjutsu. "Sorry Tid, but I can't put any more into it." She said. I stood up. "That's okay, I can work with this." I said. I had about half of my Chakra left. Nightmare Moon looked at me. "Ah, so you're finally joining the fight, are you? Good, these runts were starting to bore me." She said with a grin. I calmly walked forward and stood next to Rarity. "I have an idea on how we can beat Nightmare Moon, but it's going to require teamwork." I said. "What did you have in mind?" Rarity asked. "It occurred to me that the Six Paths were never intended to fight one-on-one, but as a coordinated group. We need to time our attacks just right so she won't be able to resist them." I said. "That sounds like a plan to me, but what are we going to do? Rainbow Dash, Itachi, and Fluttershy are out of commission." She said. "No. I can still fight." Rainbow Dash said. "Are you sure?" I asked. She nodded. "Alrighty then. We're going to need something to draw her attention away from the others." I said. "Leave that to me." I heard Itachi say. I looked at him and nodded. We turned back to face Nightmare Moon. "Scatter." I said. We all went in different directions. Itachi summoned his crows and they surrounded Nightmare Moon, restricting her vision. She struggled to rid herself of the pesky birds. Rainbow Dash took that opportunity to create a rainbow colored whirlwind around her. The whirlwind disappeared, leaving Nightmare Moon dazed and disoriented. Rarity used Universal Pull and pulled Nightmare Moon toward her. I opened the Seventh Gate and launched myself to intercept with a powerful punch. I then rebounded off of a tree and kicked her high into the air. I created two clones of myself and saw two clones of Itachi follow suit. I went up high as Itachi and I's clones used the Fireball Jutsu on her, enveloping her in fire from four sides. She flew up just as I anticipated and I spun my body, bringing my leg down on her in a fierce kick. She crashed into the ground and caused a crater to form. This battle was almost over.

"We did it!" Pinkie Pie shouted in glee as I landed. I coughed up blood and sank to my knees. The Seventh Gate dissipated and my clones vanished. "Oh no! Tid, are you alright?" Rarity asked rushing over to me. "How? I haven't used that much Chakra." I said in wonder. Then it became clear. It was the dark energy I had absorbed earlier. It must've had some effect on my Chakra. My body couldn't handle the dark energy. I activated my Mangekyou Rinnegan and raised my hand over my head, my palm facing the sky. I yelled as I forced all of the dark energy into a sphere. The sphere was massive in size. "What are you doing?" Twilight asked. When I had put all of the dark energy into the sphere, I launched it into the air. "Itachi, you have to destroy it. I don't have enough Chakra to handle a black hole of that size." I said. "Then why destroy it? If you couldn't sustain it, then it would just collapse in on itself, right?" Twilight asked. "Yes, it would, but the opening of the black hole would rip all of my Chakra out of my body. I don't think I need to explain what would follow that." I said. "Oh, right." She said. Itachi looked up at the sphere with his Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. "Amaterasu!" He said. The black flames burst into existence around the sphere and began to burn. Eventually the Amaterasu burned the sphere into nothing. I breathed a sigh of relief. We sat there for a few seconds in complete silence. Suddenly the silence was broken by laughter. We all turned our attention to the pile of rubble which covered Nightmare Moon. It began to shift and Nightmare Moon arose from the rocks. She flew high into the air, spreading her wings and laughing. "Well, I have to say that was fun! You really had me believe I was going to die! Luckily I still had this form." She said. I was confused for a few seconds until I examined her appearance more closely. She had changed her armor color from silver to gold. Her wings were now longer, and resembled those of an evil angel. Her horn now radiated a red aura constantly. A purple aura surrounded her body. "Behold and witness, my final form!" She said. "Damn it!" I said slamming my fist on the ground in frustration. We had been so close. We had all used the last of our energy in that last attack, or so I was certain. There was no way we could defeat her. "Given up hope have you? Good, then I can you finish you off." She said. She gathered a massive amount of energy in front of her. The size of the sphere was comparable to what I had seen from the Nine Tails. It was over. This is where we died. The war was over, but not in our favor. I'm sorry, Equestria. I thought in despair. Tears flowed from my face. I'm sorry... Rarity.

I watched as the green energy flew toward us, illuminating the landscape. The sphere flew closer and closer. I closed my eyes, waiting for death. All of a sudden there was a burst of wind. I opened my eyes and saw the sphere being held back by the Almighty Push. I watched in awe as Rarity stood in front of me, holding her hooves out in front of her. She had a courageous look on her face. "Tid, now is not the time to give up hope. We are so close to winning this war, losing is no longer an option. I'm sorry to say this to you but, stand up and show me the Tid I fell in love with." She said. The sphere dissipated completely and she turned to me. "You're right." I said. I stood up and reopened the Seventh Gate. "We've come too far to give up now, and I'll be damned if that's how I go." I said. She smiled. "Glad to see you back to yourself." She said. I nodded. "After all, I still need to marry you." I said smiling. I could see tears of joy brewing in her eyes. "Aw, how heartwarming." Nightmare Moon said. We all turned to her. "Let's do this!" I said. "Yeah!" The others shouted.

I launched myself at her and she deflected my punch with a barrier. "You're going to have to do better than that if you want to defeat me!" She said. "No problem." I said. I sped around her and released my chains. I wrapped her body in them, restricting her movement. "How's this for better?" I asked as I started rotating my body. We plummeted to the ground and she was driven into it, forming cracks. I jumped and landed a few yards away. She stood up. "I'll admit, that was impressive, however, it still won't be enough." She said. She flew into the air once again and formed two clones of herself out of shadows. "My turn." She said. The two clones vanished then reappeared right next to me. Chains made completely of shadows bound my arms. I pulled on the chains but they wouldn't give. She flew down and landed in front of me. "This is going to be fun." She said. She walked up to me. My eyes widened as she approached. I continued to struggle to break the chains, but I couldn't. "Oh don't bother. Those chains are an exact replication of yours. I'm sure you know how unbreakable they are." She said. If that was the case the only way to escape would be to destroy the clones who produced the chains. She continued to walk toward me until she was uncomfortably close. "That power of yours, it looks like it would be fun to have. I think I'll take it." She said. She leaned in close, attempting to kiss me. I turned my head. "Now, now, don't resist." She said. A hand made of black colored magic grabbed the back of my head, forcing me to face forward. "Now, let's try this again." She said. She leaned in once more, but before she could kiss me Rarity appeared out of nowhere and kicked her in the temple. "Don't you ever lay your hooves on my Tid!" She said. "Thank you." I said. "Don't mention it. I couldn't just stand by and watch her put her hooves all over my Tid now could I?" She replied. She destroyed the two clones that bound me with ease and I rubbed my wrists. "Yes, that was very unpleasant. Now, let's finish this." I said.

I jumped into the air and formed my fist into the shape of a tiger and launched Hirudora at her. I was through playing games. This battle was the determining factor in the war. It would decide if Equestria would stand or fall. Knowing that renewed the fighting spirit within me. She blocked the Hirudora by surrounding herself with a bubble of dark magic. I followed up the attack with several punches at blinding speeds from different directions. The barrier around her began to crack as I went. Her eyes widened. Finally I slowed down behind her to deliver a devastating kick. The barrier shattered upon contact and she spun around to face me just as I disappeared again. I reappeared behind her and spun to kick her. She blocked it using one of her arms. "So you do have some physical strength after all." I said. We went into hand-to-hoof combat. We blocked each other's punches and kicks, not letting either land a hit. We moved at incredible speeds that only Princess Celestia and I had fought at before. She blocked a punch of mine and immediately attempted to get me off-balance. I spun my body and blocked her punch. I retaliated by using the Morning Peacock. She attempted to block my punches but she couldn't keep up. I punched her with several powerful blazing punches sending her flying away from me. I landed on the ground and began to pant. I had exerted so much energy during that last bout. I was almost completely drained. It would be a now-or-never deal the next time we collided. She recovered from the attack and glared at me. I couldn't tell if she was beginning to weaken or not. She started to fly towards me. I gathered up all of my strength and leaped into the air. I ignited my fist and started to punch her. A green aura surrounded her horn and a beam of magic hit me dead in the face. I was sent flying into the ground.

I struggled to rise to my feet and Rarity came to assist me, throwing my arm over her shoulder. It was no good, I couldn't defeat her. I couldn't even sustain the Seventh Gate. My body returned to its natural state. "What are we going to do?" Pinkie Pie asked. "We have to defeat her, but how?" Twilight asked. I stood there looking up at Nightmare Moon. I had exhausted every bit of my Chakra, and my stamina was running low as well. There was only one viable option that came to mind, though I dreaded it. I hesitated, debating on whether or not I really wanted to do it. It's for the sake of Equestria, your friends, and Rarity. I told myself. I sighed. I looked at Itachi. "Itachi, I have no choice but to use it." I said. "What do you mean?" Twilight asked. "Yes, what does he mean, Itachi?" Rarity asked. Itachi said nothing. "Don't just ignore me, what does he mean?" She asked once again. Once again, Itachi remained silent. "Twilight, do you remember what that book I gave you said about the Eight Inner Gates?" I asked. "Huh? Oh, yeah, I remember. Why?" She asked. "Could you go through the list of side effects of opening each of the Eight Gates?" I asked. "Yeah, just hold on a second. I brought a list." She said. None of us questioned why she brought a list. "First Gate: Gate of Opening. This is the first of the Eight Gates and increases the users speed and power. It also allows for the use of the Frontal Lotus. Side effects: this Gate fatigues the user greatly after it's release. Second Gate: Gate of Rest: -" She continued on like this for each of the Eight Gates, pausing after the Seventh Gate. "And finally, the Eighth Gate: Gate of Death. The opening of this Gate grants the user power greater than that of a Kage, but at the cost of the user's life." She said. The others looked at me when she finished. "What does that have to do with anything?" Rainbow Dash asked. "I'm afraid I have no choice but to open the Eighth Gate." I said.

The others gasped. "But, Tid, you can't! If you do you will die!" Rarity said. I looked at her. "I'm sorry Rarity, but I'm afraid there's no other way. Your life is far more important than mine." I said. I took my arm from around her shoulder and walked forward. "Tid, are you sure you want to go through with this?" Twilight asked. "No, I don't want to go through with it, but I must." I said. "Please Tid, don't do it!" Rarity pleaded. It broke my heart to hear her plead like that. "I'm sorry, but I have to protect you, even at the cost of my own life. With that said, I guess this is goodbye." I said. I had to choke back tears as I spoke. I heard her take a step forward, but someone stopped her. "Eighth: Gate of Death, open." I said. At that moment I felt a great surge of power throughout my entire body. I looked down as golden flames enveloped my body. The golden flames were different than other flames, as I felt them burn my body from the inside. I felt my hair extend, coming to my shoulders. I looked up at Nightmare Moon once the transformation was complete and saw her eyes wide with shock. "Now, this is where we die." I said to her.

"I doubt that." She said regaining her cofidence. I ran and in an instant I was behind her. I punched her and she soared through the sky for quite a distance. I followed her and continued to hit her with a barrage of punches. I then raised both of my hands above me and I brought them down on her, sending her into the ground and forming a crater. I landed and punched her in the stomach, causing the ground around us to crack and shatter. I grabbed her by the throat and threw her into the air. I wrapped her up in my chains and performed the Frontal Lotus again. I was going to wrap this up as quickly as possible. I jumped into the air and prepared for the unique ability that was granted to me by the Eight Gate. I sent my chains at her and wrapped her up in them. I held out my right arm right next to me, the massive energy that surrounded me started to change and take shape. I watched as a gigantic dragon made purely of the golden flames that surrounded me took form around me. Nightmare Moon looked up at this with an expression of fear. "How are you so strong?" She asked. "I'm strong because I defend the ones I love. To stand up for my comrades against all odds; that is my ninja way! Now die!" I shouted. I used my left hand to open my right fist, which in turn caused the dragon to open its mouth. The dragon was positioned to the point where it was pointing in the same direction as my right arm. I grabbed the chains with my left hand and pulled. She flew up toward me at an incredible rate; one that was almost too quick to follow for the normal eye. "Nighttime Dragon!" I shouted. I closed my fist, causing the dragon to bite down on her. I then punched her with all of my might, following her into the ground, driving her deep into it. The battle was over, for real this time. She was dead. We had won.

I stood up and the golden flames surrounding me dissipated. I instantly sank to my knees, coughing up blood. Rarity and the others ran over to me. "Tid!" Rarity said. I fell backwards onto my back. She knelt down on the ground next to me, holding my hand between her hooves. "Sorry Rarity, but it looks like this is it." I said. "No... Tid please, you can't die!" She said. Tears were starting to well up in her eyes. "I'm sorry it had to end like this. Please forgive me." I said. "But you promised me we'd get married! You can't just leave me!" She said. Tears began to stream down her face, the warm liquid dripping onto my body. "Rarity, will you do one last thing for me before I die?" I asked. "Anything my sweet." She said. "Will you recite the poem I wrote for you with me?" I asked. The others awed like teenaged girls, except Itachi. "Of course." She said. I started off the poem. Once she had recited the final line, I added one of my own. "And though we may not be together, our love will continue to thrive, conquering even death." I said. "Please, Tid... I'm begging you, don't leave me." She pleaded. I placed my hand on her cheek, giving her a warm smile. "I love you, Rarity." I said. "I love you too, Tid." She said. With that I felt the last of my life slip away from me. My hand slowly glided down her face, leaving a trail of blood behind, until it finally fell to my side. I closed my eyes, meeting death.

Me: Well, that was both intense and emotional. I don't think I'll be able to talk with Tid about it, so I'll just wrap this up by myself. Favorite, follow, and leave a review! See ya next time!
