Chapter 61- Rarity Vs. Robert

Me: A fight between the pony I love and the man I hate, this should be interesting.

Rarity: I shall destroy him.

Me: If you say so. I don't own the rights to Naruto Shippuden or My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

The night was quiet as Rarity walked along the dirt path that winded through the countryside. She was heading toward the Crystal Mountains, a mountain range that partially surrounded the Crystal Empire. It was there that her target lie in wait. She listened to the sound of gravel crunching under her hooves as she walked, letting it interrupt her thoughts. The night air was cool. She inhaled deeply and let it out, feeling the cool sensation pass through her lungs. The land surrounding the path slowly started to change as she continued northward. The grass changed from a florescent green to an almost barren brown. She looked ahead to see the mountain range far off in the distance. A display of multicolored lights played just above their peaks, shining against a scarlet backdrop. She smiled at the display. It wasn't everyday somepony got to see a display so wonderful. One might even go as far as to call it a rarity. She chuckled at her own joke. Finally the path turned from dirt to frozen ice. She was surprised at how suddenly the path changed form, but not for long. She continued to tread through the six inch thick snow that now covered the entire ground, leaving hoof prints behind. The air suddenly took on an ominous feel as she walked. Maybe it was here very presence in the mountain range; she had heard rumors of the mountains changing the air around themselves, but she had never expected them to be true. She shook her head. She was being silly, mountains couldn't really do that, they were just old pony tails. She reached the base of the mountain and looked up toward the summit. "Why must I be the one to climb this?" She asked herself unenthusiastically.

She climbed cautiously, making certain to get a good footing before continuing. She reached a ledge that was larger than the others about a third of the way up the mountain. She climbed onto it and lay on the slab of rock which jutted out several feet from the mountain base. Sweat was running down her face, which disgusted her. She was quickly cooled by the cold mountain air, which now turned her heavy breaths into bursts of white fog. The rock she was laying on seemed black as obsidian in the cold night. She continued to lie there, looking out over the vast land that lay before her. There weren't any trees for as far as the eye could see. To her right lay the shining kingdom of the Crystal Empire. She knew not the hour, but she was still surprised to see so many lights on this late at night. She turned and stared up the mountain. There was no way she was climbing the rest of the way. She closed her eyes and concentrated. An image of the summit appeared in her mind and she focused on inserting herself into the image. When she did so she felt a sensation that felt like her body being shoved through a small hole, then a feeling of weightlessness, followed by the first sensation once more. This all happened in a second, making her a little nauseous. Once she had regained her composure she opened her eyes to see Robert sitting on the ground in front of her. He was about fifteen feet away. She took a quick look around; surveying the battle arena. They were in a cave of sorts. The walls were rocky, curving as they went upwards. The cave was like a dome that was cut in half. Stalactites hung menacingly from the ceiling, threatening to fall with the slightest provocation. The floor was made of the same hard substance as the rest of the mountain. There was a luminous pool of water just behind Robert; who was still sitting in a meditative state.

He opened his eyes for a second, then closed them once more. Was he ignoring her? She cleared her throat in a manner to attract his attention; however he continued to ignore her. Did he doubt her capabilities? He smirked. She scowled at this. She was growing impatient. "You dare doubt my abilities?!" She asked, infuriated. She ran at him and attempted to punch him full-force in the face. He raised his hand and grabbed her hoof, blocking her attack. "Did you really think an attack like that would work on me?" He asked. She smirked. "No, but that wasn't my intention in the first place." She said. He opened his eyes in surprise and she sent him crashing into the wall on the opposite side of the water. The stalactites above shook threateningly. Blood started to leak from the corners of his mouth. He winced with pain as he pried himself from the wall. He landed on the ground, kneeling slightly as he did so. He stood and wiped the blood from his mouth. "I have to say, I didn't expect that." He said. She grinned. "That's what you get when you underestimate your opponent." She said. "Alright then, it's time I got serious." He said. She started to gather magic around her horn. "I've always been serious."

She launched a beam of powerful midnight blue magic that raced across the water, causing it to separate a little as it flew. He grinned. Just as the beam was about to hit him he disappeared with a flicker. Her eyes widened as she saw this. He was fast, maybe too fast. Just then she felt the air behind her change as Robert suddenly reappeared. She had just enough time to look at him before she felt the power of his fist slam into her face, twisting her body as she was sent flying into the water. She sat up, the water flowing off of her body as she did so. Her hair was wet and hung to the sides of her body. So fast. I could hardly keep up with him. She thought with concern. She stood up, the side of her face still throbbing with pain. She hadn't expected so much power, though she knew things were just getting started. She stepped out of the pool and onto the cold rock. She stood there for a brief moment, planning her next move. He smirked. "What? Giving up already? I have to say I'm disappointed." He said. He was getting cocky. Regardless of how much power he had, she had to defeat him.

"No, I'm not giving up. It's quite the contrary, actually. I'm just getting started." She said with a grin. "Good. I'd hate for it to be over so quickly." He said getting into a fighting stance. "Just don't make it boring for me, okay?" Rarity retorted. He disappeared in a flicker, once more reappearing behind her. This time, however, she was ready. She used the Almighty Push and sent him flying. She wouldn't fall for the same trick twice. She spun around to face him as he landed, stopping himself by digging his feet into the ground. She ran up to him before he could prepare himself and kicked him in the face. "Four." She said. She followed up with a powerful punch between the shoulder blades. "Three." "A countdown?" He asked. She didn't stop her attack. She went low and kicked him in the stomach, sending him into the air. "Two." She said. She leapt into the air and brought both of her front hooves down on his back. She heard a sickening crunch as she did so. A few of his vertebrae must have broken. He was sent crashing into the ground; causing it to crack and shatter. He rolled over on his back. She landed on his stomach, causing him to cough up more blood. "One." She said. She placed her hoof on his chest. "Zero. It's over. Almighty-" "It's not over yet." He said.

At that moment he leaned forward and grabbed her by the throat. "What? How are you... Able to move?" She asked in disbelief. She had pummeled him with enough force to kill someone, how was he still alive? He stood up, still holding her by the neck. He chuckled. "Have you really forgotten? Come now, I thought you'd at least remember my Ultimate Form." He said. Her eyes widened when she heard this. Of course, how had she forgotten? She felt so foolish. She watched in fear as the air around him began to shoot upwards. It was hot like fire, which she hadn't expected. It burned her skin and her dress began to heat up as well. His muscle mass began to increase and veins made themselves more discernible. He took on a blue aura that surrounded his body with a luminous glow. The air stopped shooting upward and he pulled her toward him. She was looking him straight in the eyes, which had turned pure white. They didn't seem natural. "Now the fun can begin."

He threw her with all of his might into the opposite wall. She impacted it so hard it cracked. The stalactites above shook threateningly once more. He was more powerful than before. She remembered he had been able to stop Tid when he was using the Fourth Gate. Did she really think she had that much power in her? There was only one way to find out. She pried herself off of the wall and landed on the ground. He was looking at her with a smirk on his face. "Don't get cocky." She warned. "I think I have the right to be cocky. There's nothing you can do to beat me in this form!" He said. She sighed. How ignorant. She thought. She ran at him, crossing the pool of water in a fraction of a second. He flinched. He hadn't realized just how fast she was. She jumped into the air and brought her leg down. He blocked it with his forearm and grabbed her leg. He threw her like a ragdoll into the pool. She sat up to see him flying toward her. "Almighty Push!" She exclaimed quickly. She surrounded herself with the Almighty Push, forming a bubble of safety around her. The water in the pool was pushed aside, leaving a circle of damp rocky ground surrounding her. He was stopped by the Almighty Push and sent flying backward. He landed just short of the ledge on his feet. When the Almighty Push ceased the water flooded back into the pool. "Seems you've still got some tricks up your sleeve." He said. She feigned confidence by putting on a smirk. "Darling, I'm afraid I'm just getting started."

She stood and they faced each other. The hatred between them was so strong it was almost visible. They stood there for a while, sizing each other up, plotting their next move. She had to catch him off guard. She couldn't match his power, and the Almighty Push wouldn't always be there to protect her. Faster than she could react he was behind her. He grabbed her and started to squeeze. He tightened his grip on her like a boa constrictor. She thrashed about but he wouldn't relinquish his grip. "Let… Go… Of… Me!" She said still thrashing. "Not gonna happen!" He said. She was starting to get angry. "I… Said… Let… Go… You brute!" She shouted. She used the Almighty Push again and he was sent flying into the air. She spun around to face him. She leapt into the air and they went into hand-to-hoof combat. They fought at a speed which Rarity was only used to thanks to Tid's training. She could feel his powerful punches against her hooves. He was slowly overpowering her, his physical strength far surpassing hers. Eventually he blocked one of her punches and punched her in the chest, sending her into the ground. She coughed up blood as she impacted the ground. She felt one of her ribs break. She winced with the severe pain that now covered her body. Had she been in over her head this whole time? She watched as he flew toward her, readying a punch that would end her life. Her breath was shaky; whether it was from the pain or the fear, she couldn't tell. Is this really how I die? She thought in fear. How could she have been so foolish? She closed her eyes; waiting for the inevitable.

A second later her eyes were forced open and she saw Robert hovering above her. There was a searing pain in both of her eyes. She opened her mouth, but no sound came out. She lay there in silence, suffering from the pain that now resonated from her eyes. Robert seemed to be frozen in animation, his fist just inches from her face. This lasted for a few seconds before Robert was sent flying into the ceiling. He crushed a few of the stalactites. He stared at her in disbelief. She stood up and he landed on the ground. "How? When did he give you his eyes?!" He asked in a mixture of shock and disbelief. "What on earth are you talking about?" She asked confused. He stood there in what looked like fear. She walked over to the pool of water and looked into its reflective surface. Her eyes widened when she saw her reflection. Right there, in the water's surface, staring her straight in the face was Tid. She stared in disbelief. How? What's going on? She thought to herself. A few seconds later the image dissolved and it showed her own reflection; and much to her surprise his eyes stayed. She closed her eyes and shook her head, thinking it was an illusion. She opened them again and stared into the water's surface once more, but his eyes remained. Had he somehow given her his powers before his death? It didn't make any sense.

Neither of the two moved for the longest time. Rarity's mind was a blur of chaos, trying to make sense of what she had seen. How did she have Tid's eyes? A rock fell from the ceiling and into the pool of water, causing a ripple to spread throughout the entire pool. It was the ripple that brought her back to reality. She looked at her opponent, whom was still petrified with fear. If Tid had given her his eyes, did that mean she could use his powers? She extended her hoof in front of her and concentrated a little. Her eyes widened as she saw it burst into flames. She was even more surprised when she saw the flames weren't harming her, or her dress. She extinguished the flame and put her hoof down. She looked back at Robert, whose expression of fear had grown upon watching this. She laughed. "You're nightmare… Has only just begun!" She said.

She had an idea. She wondered how well she could handle the Eight Gates. She opened the First Gate; feeling the power course throughout her entire body. She ran at the still paralyzed Robert and punched him full-force in the stomach, causing him to double over in pain. He coughed and blood splattered on the floor. She stood over him and brought her leg down on the back of his head in an insanely powerful kick that caused the ground beneath them to shatter. Had he not been in his Ultimate Form the kick would've ripped his head clean off. He lay face down in the rubble that surrounded his body, not moving. She smiled. "Oh come now, do you really expect me to believe you're dead? Quit your act and defend yourself like a real man." She said. She backed away from him to allow him room to get up. He slowly lifted himself off of the ground and stood up. He looked at her with a look of rage. "There's the fire I've been looking for." She said grinning. "Now, it's my turn." He said.

Before she could react he was in front of her. He punched her in the face with all of his might. She was sent flying toward the other wall. She looked back and saw that Robert had disappeared. Just then she felt a kick from below. He kicked her hard in her back causing her to yell with pain. She was sent upwards and he appeared above her. He pulled his fist back, giving her just enough time to perform the Almighty Push. She stopped in mid-air and he was sent flying into the ceiling. This time the stalactites had had enough and fell to the ground, shattering upon impact. She landed on her feet, wincing with the pain that she now felt in her back. He fell to the ground and landed on his feet as well. They launched themselves at each other and collided, immediately going into a furious clash of fists and hooves. He still overpowered her, which wasn't surprising. She had only opened one of the Gates, and Tid had opened four and still couldn't beat him in a physical confrontation. She would have to open more than four if she wanted to beat him. This worried her, as she knew she couldn't handle the side effects of the Gates; already she was feeling exhausted from the First Gate. She had to try; it was for Tid's sake.

He won the physical confrontation and he punched her in the face. She was sent backwards and landed on her feet. She stood there, staring at him, panting. She had to try it. She forced open three more Gates. An aura began to appear around her now. The ground beneath her cracked with how much power she possessed. It felt invigorating. His eyes widened when he saw this. She launched herself at him, causing the ground where she had been to shatter under the extreme pressure of her launch. In less than a second she was in front of him and punched him in the chest. She ignited her four hooves and started to punch and kick with blinding speed. He didn't have time to react, she wouldn't let up. She finished her attack with a powerful punch right beneath the rib cage, knocking the wind out of him. She stood there, watching him as he writhed in pain. She wondered if she could perform the Frontal Lotus. Tid had used his chains to restrict their movement, but she didn't think she had that ability. After all, he had said it was something only he could do. But then again, she also possessed his eyes, and his immunity to fire. Was it possible she could also use his chains? There was only one way to find out. She put her hoof out in front of her, pointing it at the man whom was still writhing on the ground. For a second nothing happened, but then chains burst from her hoof. She smiled with glee when she saw this. He really had given her everything.

The chains surrounded Robert's body and bound him tightly. He struggled, but he couldn't break the chains. "Don't tell me these are…" He said. She nodded. "That's correct. Tid's generosity has given me the power to beat you." She said. She raised her hoof into the air and he was sent flying toward the ceiling. She leapt behind him and grabbed him, restricting his movement even further. She flipped her body so they were both falling head-first toward the ground. She began to spin the two of them wildly. She felt the wind blow her hair about as she did this. She almost smiled; she loved the feeling she was experiencing. She relinquished her hold on him just before they hit the ground so as to avoid damage. He collided with the ground and it sent clouds of dust into the air. She was forced to cover her face to protect from the debris. When the air cleared she lowered her arms and saw Robert standing there, just barely able to stand. He was standing in the center of the crater that had been formed from the impact. His breath was shaky, and he seemed about to collapse at any moment. "I… Will not… Lose… T-to… You!" He said between breaths. "Darling, I don't see how you could possibly win at this point. Why don't you just be a lamb and let me end your pathetic life?" She asked smirking. "N-not… Gonna happen." He said with a look of anger. At that moment the wind picked up and started surrounding his body. A golden light radiated from him, growing brighter and brighter with every second. It illuminated the entire cave, forcing her to shield her eyes. Eventually the light began to dim and she looked back at him. Her eyes widened when she saw he had changed form again. He had been hiding power the entire time. She had seen this form only once before, and she knew Tid had to use the Seventh Gate to beat it. She hadn't seen too much of this form's power, as the battle had ended swiftly after that. "It's over." He said.

She dreaded the idea, but she had no choice. She had to throw caution to the wind and open the Seventh Gate. "Seventh: Gate of Shock, open." She said. She felt incredible power course through her body. The aura around her changed from blue to green. "Looks like this is going to be the final clash." She said. He nodded. They launched themselves at each other and collided. A burst of energy exploded from where they collided, causing the ground beneath them to crack and shatter. They were equal in power. She spun her body and attempted to kick him in the temple. He blocked her kick and punched her in the face. He seemed to really hate her face. Her body twisted in the same way it had done when he first punched her and she was sent into the ground. She collided hard with it and winced with pain. The shoulder of her dress tore slightly and she gasped. She stood up furiously. "How dare you ruin this dress! I'll send you even further into hell for that!" She exclaimed. Not only was she upset that one of her masterpieces was torn, but she was also upset that he had ruined one of the only reminders of Tid she still had. She didn't know what she do if... She shook her head. She didn't want to think about that. She was going to teach this bastard a lesson.

She ran at him faster than she had before. In an instant she was behind him and delivered a powerful kick to his lower back. This caused him to lean backwards in pain. She then grabbed his neck and fell with it, driving it into her shoulder. He yelled with pain and immediately attempted to get away from her. She, however, wouldn't let him escape. She followed him and wrapped his body in chains once more. She ignited her hoof and delivered several powerful punches straight to his face. She then spun her body and hit him with a kick to the temple. Any other opponent would've died instantly from this attack, but he was a stronger opponent. She punched him one last time, sending him flying into the opposite wall. She gathered magic around her horn and kept building it up, preparing for one of the most powerful spells she could use. When she felt she had gathered enough energy she pulled on the chain, causing Robert to fly through the air toward her. As he flew she launched the beam of midnight blue magic once more and his body collided with it. He screamed in agony as the spell burned his skin. The sheer amount of magical energy he was coming into contact with was enough to kill a small dragon. This thought reminded her briefly of Spike. She shook her head. She would deal with that one later. When the beam ceased she saw him on his knees, panting with wisps of smoke coming from his body. His clothes were singed with several holes in them. She withdrew the chains from him, think he wouldn't be able to fight anymore. She was dead wrong.

As soon as she relinquished the chains from his body he disappeared in the blink of an eye. She then felt a fierce pain coming from her stomach as she was kicked from below. All of the air was knocked out of her and all she could do was watch as Robert hit her with blow after blow. Eventually his merciless barrage ended with him slamming her into the ground. She coughed, releasing more blood from her mouth than air. She was out of her league. She wasn't stronger than Robert, as she knew only one person who was stronger than him, and that was Tid. She still had to defeat him, however. If she didn't his memory would mean nothing. She had to defeat Robert, she had to end his life, so that she could avenge Tid's death. She weakly ignited her hoof, raising her chest a few inches from the ground with the other. She tried as hard as she could but her arm gave out, causing her to collapse back to the floor, the fire vanishing as quickly as it had come. An ember from the fire flew and hit something on her horn, causing a bright flash of light. "Oh? What's this? A ring?" He asked in interest. Her eyes widened. He started to walk toward her, and with every step the fear within her grew. He wasn't about to do what she thought he was going to do, was he? He reached her and bent over and slipped the ring off of her horn. "What a pathetic piece of jewelry." He said coldly. "Give it back!" She exclaimed. "What's that? You want me to give it back? Does the little pony want her ring back?" He asked mockingly. "Damn you! I said give I back!" She shouted. He laughed and walked away from her, tossing the ring up and catching it. Her rage grew inside of her. "I'm not going to ask you again! Give it back!" She shouted, more furious than ever. He tossed it up and caught it one last time. He looked at her over his shoulder. "You want it back?" He asked with a grin. He turned his body. "Then go get it!" He said.

It was as if the world was moving in slow motion. She watched in horror as he took her ring and threw it off of the side of the mountain. She watched it as it vanished from view over the ledge. Everything was silent. She stared at the spot where it had last been visible with wide eyes. She could hear her heart pounding in her ears. Her pulse got faster and faster, her heart beating louder and louder as it did so. Eventually it was a constant roar in her ears. Tears welled up in her eyes and began to stream down her face. She glanced at Robert, who was laughing maniacally. She lay there and stared at him for a while. Her rage grew inside of her rapidly as she stared at him. She rose to her hooves, staring murderously at him. "You... You bastard!" She shouted. He stopped laughing and looked at her. "Ooh, seems I've struck a nerve." He said smiling. "I'll fucking kill you!" She shouted. She screamed with rage and her body ignited itself. The fire surrounding her reached out in a circle that spread five feet from her in every direction. He flinched as he watched her. She continued to scream with rage, feeling all control leave her body. Despite her physical condition she re-opened the Seventh Gate. She inhaled some of the flames that surrounded her to heal herself. The flames continued to burn brighter and hotter with every second. Her tears were still flowing down her face, seemingly not affected by the fire. She launched herself at him and struck him with a head butt to the gut. He doubled over, winded. She kicked him in the chin and sent him flying into the air. She flew above him and hit him with a barrage of powerful attacks from all directions. She kept launching herself off of the walls, ceiling, and floor to hit him with the most power she could muster. She would not stop her barrage, not until she was certain he was dead. She wanted to see the life leave his eyes. He had gotten rid of the thing she held most dear. He would pay with his life. She lifted both of her hooves above her head and brought them down on his stomach. He was sent crashing into the ground with more force than ever, causing the ground to buckle under the pressure. She wrapped him up in chains and pulled, lifting him into the air. He stared at her with wide-eyed horror as he approached. "This is where your life ends!" She shouted in rage. She performed the Hidden Lotus on him, striking his face and chest with her hooves. She drove him into the ground, enjoying the sickening sound of his bones breaking. A cloud of dust shot up around them, sending debris into the air. It was over.

Rarity took a step back and a moment to catch her breath. She had done it, she had killed Robert. She smiled, tears of joy streaming down her face. Her joy was dashed when she heard him cough. She stared at him with daggers. "I'm amazed you're still alive you worthless blob of slime." She spat. He was laying on the ground, trying to catch his breath. He was hardly able to move. She walked up to him and put her hoof on his chest. He winced in pain as she did so. She leaned in close to his face. "Well, since you refuse to die, I'll make you suffer the same way I have." She said with a wicked grin on her face. His eyes widened when he heard this. She started to walk away when he grabbed her leg. She looked at him. "Sorry, but you can't stop me this time. Say goodbye to your wife!" She said. She shook her leg free of his grasp and teleported, laughing maniacally.
