A/N: It has been six years since I last updated this story and I was rereading it and wow. I can't believe this is something I allowed myself to publish. Aside from minor errors in spelling and grammar, I won't be editing the previous eleven chapters of this story. I believe in progress and growth and I think this story helps me examine my own.

In terms of my personal life, I've grown a lot (obviously). I'm nineteen years old (turning twenty in a month) and a sophomore in college. I'm in a long term relationship and we're discussing marriage once we graduate (age 23/24 to anyone interested). I'm dumbfounded by how quickly time can fly and how things have changed.

Thank you to those who have avidly followed my progress and my work. I hope I can do justice to this last chapter as you all deserve the best I can give.

Previously on Haunted:

The dance was in a few days and based on what I had just picked up for Fabian it would be a very memorable moment for Nina.

Fabian's POV

"A-A-AAAA-pfffft"

"Having fun?" I heard a voice say from behind me.

"I would be having more fun if our daughter didn't have your appetite" I grumbled. "You eat a single piece of celery a day."

"You're just not doing it right." Nina said coming to view by my side. "She doesn't like the whole random noise thing, she likes the plane noises."

Plucking the spoon from my hands she scooped up a bit of the creamed peaches from the bowl. "Buzzzz Buzzz Buzzz Peewwww."

Eagerly our daughter opened her mouth for food, clapping her hands and giggling as her mother made a complete nutter of herself.

"Atta girl Janey!" Nina exclaimed bopping our daughter on the nose with her finger before pulling her out of her high chair.

"The blatant favoritism does not go unnoticed, Jane." I said fake glaring at the infant in my wife's arms.

"Get used to it Fabes." Nina replied laughing as she set Jane down on her play-mat in the living room.

"Oh God, don't call me that." I grumbled, sitting on the recliner in the room.

"Aw why not Fabes? Isn't that your favorite nickname?" She taunted coming to sit on the arm of the chair.

Pulling her onto my lap I answered, "It brings back some awful memories. You, me, Joy."

"Whatever happened to Joy?" Nina asked.

"I believe she went off the deep end after we got engaged before college started." I said thinking back to the last time we had seen Joy.

It was at the school's final dance of the term, right before we would all be leaving for college. Things had been getting weird in the house, Joy was exhibiting some rather odd behavior (threatening me and Nina and such). Nina and I had broken up for some time but after an aggressive sing off, a carefully orchestrated date, and weeks of planning I had decided to propose at the ripe old age of eighteen.

I was young but eager. I used the last of my savings to buy her a ring which she ended up absolutely hating (a fact that she wouldn't tell me until ten years after our marriage). Somewhere in my head it had made sense to show an extensive amount of British pride when choosing her ring, so in turn the ring itself was heart shaped. With the flag of England on it. It really wasn't my brightest moment and after I realized she hated it, it was promptly replaced by something daintier. Jane was born shortly after our ten year anniversary so I suppose it would have been time to replace it anyway.

Regardless, I had proposed at the end of the dance. I had walked Nina down to the garden, surrounded by lights and flowers almost as beautiful as she was. I was so overwhelmed I can't remember what I said, but I'm sure I made a fool of myself. All I remember was the sound of her laugh, the way her eyes looked filled with tears, and the smile on her face as she choked out "yes".

Shortly after that we were married, though we didn't live together for nearly six years. Nina went back to America to study English and Creative Writing at NYU, while I stayed in England and attended medical school. After I finished medical school Nina moved back to England where we've lived ever since. Though the distance was hard, it has only made me appreciate the last four years of our life together even more.

"Amber said she tried to sabotage your proposal multiple times." Nina said reclining on me and watching Jane play with her blocks.

"Yeah evidently Amber spent the night blocking her attempts to destroy your dress, turn on the sprinklers, and steal the ring." I said chuckling, unamused.

"Oh man, Amber should have let her take that ring." Nina answered winking.

"I can't believe you wore it for ten years." I said laughing goodheartedly. My wife truly was a saint for hiding her distaste for so long.

"Well, sometimes sacrifices need to be made for the greater good." She answered, standing up and walking over to play with Jane.

"Yeah the greater good." I said smiling at my family. "Seems just about right."

A/N(2): So that's it for Haunted, a story I never thought I would finish. Thank you all for growing with me on this journey. I wish you the best.
