AN: Hey, guys. So, today France introduced me to the kid at my school who goes by Doctor. He's another band kid. As soon as France half did introductions (never great at them, her), he stepped in and said 'Hullo, I'm the Doctor', and we just went from there. It was nice. Aidrian's gotten kinda sick of the whole Doctor Who thing, though. Oh well. I love it. It's something interesting that keeps me thinking.
But anyways...yeah, guys, sorry for the angst fest that was this morning's chapter. When I wrote it, I was having one of my relapses and using my writing as a release instead of cutting. But now I have something to work through here.
To those who reviewed:
ItalyAllday: ..I am so sorry. That's bad. That's very not good. I didn't mean to make anyone else cry!
Evelynyamine: Yes, indeed it did.
Enjoy.
The following morning, Lovino met Antonio's eyes, but the pain that the Spaniard found there cut his heart to shreds.
"Lovi..can I speak with you?"
Lovino looked down before he shrugged and allowed Antonio to lead him out onto the porch while the others were getting ready.
Antonio sat with Lovino in silence for a while before he spoke softly. "Listen..."
Lovino cut him off though. "You promised me that you'd never call me Romano. I made you promise that because I don't...because every time I hear it, I'm scared I'm going to get hurt."he said, staring out in front of him. But his voice shook, letting Antonio know exactly how tore apart Lovino was about it.
Antonio didn't respond for a moment before he found the words he was looking for. "I'm sorry. I didn't..I wasn't thinking."he responded.
Lovino glanced over at him for a long while. "Toni...I cannot deal with you doing something like that again. I can't."he said softly. "Because as much as I want to believe that you'd never hurt me...I don't know that. Not for sure. I'm sick of being hurt. Please...please, don't ever do that again."
Antonio nodded in agreement and kissed the Italian's cheek.
The action gained him a half-hearted glare, and the two set about finishing getting ready to face the day.
The others gave Antonio and Lovino their space that morning when they got to school.
Antonio tried his best to get Lovino speaking again, because he was being unusually quiet.
Raivis and Toris were both acting odd too, now that he thought about it. Had been all morning.
After a while, Antonio brought it up. "So, what's up today? You, Toris and Raivis are acting a bit..off."he asked.
"All three of us were brought into the Mafia the same day..different years. Raivis had been there for a year when I got there, and then Toris came in the following year."Lovino answered. "It's just...that's why I flipped. Because yesterday's date...a few years ago..that was the last time someone called me Romano without wishing me harm."
Antonio frowned. "I'm sorry."he said softly.
Lovino shrugged.
The two decided then to go sit with the others until they were dismissed to their first hour classes. As soon as they'd had a seat, Antonio pulled Lovino into his arms and kept him there.
Lovino tensed for a moment before relaxing back into the embrace and allowing himself to calm down. He knew he was worked up over nothing. But he couldn't help it. He hated this day, just because it had always meant double the pain.
Throughout the day, the others could see the change in Toris and Raivis as well, and it took them a while to understand what was going on. But they sat down with Lovino and started talking quietly in quick tones so that no one else had time to register what was said, so nobody commented on it.
Antonio came in then and sat down beside Lovino and kissed his cheek lightly.
Lovino gave him a soft smile and continued his conversation.
It was just like back before Antonio found out about the Mafia mess. And to be quite honest, he missed the calm that came with those times. Because it had been so close to perfect.
Now, i need to get to bed. Here's the damage control chapter for us Hetalia fans, apparently.
