What Shino hated was how people could not comprehend that the bugs were not a separate entity. He was the bugs and they were him. To him there was no distinction between them. They were another organ, one he would be unable to live without. Even members of his own clan could not relate to that. To most of them, the bug's were tools, a means of getting a job done.
He also found it funny that the only people capable of understanding the relationship, were the two people most opposite to Shino. Two loud, brash, reckless, annoying, stupid (but not necessarily unintelligent) boys known as Kiba and Naruto. Kiba understood through the bond with Akamaru, who he literally considered an extension of himself, and Naruto through the Tailed Beast he carried within him.
And he liked that. He liked knowing that no matter how different they were from him, there was someone who understood the bond.
