AN: So...guess what guys! ...good day gone fucking terrible. I got to hang out with a couple friends today...and then I got a phone call from someone who knows almost everything about me. Before then, I was happy, I was laughing and smiling and having a nice day...and then everything falls apart. You know that quote that says 'when you don't want to lose people closest to you, you stop letting people get close to you'? Yeah..that's true, as I found out the hard way. And also, I hate when people say they don't want to hurt me..especially if they're planning on doing just that. So, yeah, I'm not feeling the best in the world now. But whatever, you know? So, here's the new chapter.
To those who reviewed:
ThatRandomReview: Thanks! But really, I don't think about how many chapters, I just write to write. I love it, so it comes much easier. Besides, I've got a lot of free time..
Spamano4ever: Yeah. I don't like writing fighting, I hear too much as it is.
ItalyAllday: Good.
Enjoy.
The week of finals was upon the group before they realized, and it was that week that the Vargas twins got the news. As soon as school ended, Feliciano and Lovino both came out of the school looking a bit more crestfallen than they had been that morning.
Matthew noticed and frowned. "What's going on?"he asked the two.
Lovino shook his head. "Our sorry ass mother has decided we need to go back to Italy this summer."he said, voice bitter.
"What?"Gilbert said, shock shining through his words. "She's taking you two away? She can't do that!"
Lovino met his eyes. "It's not exactly like we have much of a choice, Gil."he responded, shaking his head.
"But you do! You're both eighteen, she has no say in your lives anymore."
Feliciano looked up at the Prussian before speaking. "But she still has guardianship over us, and as such, she can still make us leave."he commented softly.
Lovino looked to Feliciano before he looked to Ludwig. "Get him home,"he said quietly. "There's something I need to say that he doesn't need to hear. I'll explain later,"
Ludwig nodded and moved to grab Feliciano's hand, then met Lovino's eyes again. "She can't make you do anything. You don't have to leave,"
Lovino nodded and the German led the younger of the Vargas twins away.
As soon as they were gone, Toris spoke. "May I ask what you're planning on doing, Lovino? Because I know you. You don't back down easily, even after being put through fucking hell. You're going to fight to stay here, for both of you to stay here."
Lovino nodded. "If I have to. But I spoke with one of my teachers today, sometime after lunch, asked them. We aren't allowed to leave when we'd normally have to, because of it affecting our attendence, so.."he said, then trailed. "Listen, guys...I don't care what happens, you're to keep Feliciano with you. Because if we go back to Italy, he'll be made to stay there by someone. Most likely our mom. I can't have that happen. He's got to stay here."
Matthew spoke. "He can stay with Al and me if need be,"he said softly. "But I hope you don't have to leave to achieve this, Lovi. Because...believe it or not, most of this group is still here because of you."
Lovino snorted. "Oh, that's just cruel, Mattie. 'M not. Don't say stuff like that."
Antonio met Lovino's eyes before he spoke softly. "No, he's right. This group is different. It would have fallen apart if not for you binding it together so well. You created it. Besides...I don't want to have to say goodbye."he said softly. "I love you too much to say goodbye to you."
Lovino gave a wry smile. "Che cazzo? Who said anything about goodbye?"he asked.
Antonio shrugged. "If you have to leave? It would be, for a bit, maybe."
Lovino nodded in understanding. "So, you guys will help?"
"We'll do what it takes,"Raivis promised.
The following weeks up to summer break passed in a blur of work for the group.
The last day of school was when they figured out what they had to do.
Lovino came out later than the others, a bright, genuine smile on his face as he approached the group. "Good news, guys!"
Francis raised an eyebrow at the Italian. "Do you and little Feli get to stay?"he asked.
Lovino nodded. "Well..kind of. I have to go, for about two weeks, then I'll be back. But Feli stays here. I had to bargin. Besides, this way, I can get the last of our stuff from Italy and not have to worry about it."
Feliciano nearly tackled Lovino in a hug then.
"Fratello!"Lovino exclaimed when he stumbled.
Feliciano, however, didn't respond. "Grazie, Lovi~! I know it won't be easy on you, having to do this.."
Lovino gave a soft smile to his brother. "That's what I'm supposed to do, Feli. Now..you have to stay with someone while I'm gone, though, okay?"
Feliciano nodded once.
The day Lovino left was full of tears from Feliciano, sad looks passed between the group, and quite a few heartfelt goodbyes.
At last, Lovino said his final goodbye to the group, gave his brother one last, tight hug, and stole a quick kiss from Antonio, then disappeared to board the plane.
As soon as he was gone, Feliciano broke down.
Ludwig drew him into a hug, but said nothing. There was nothing anyone could say.
After the plane left, Gilbert spoke. "I suppose that's it, then?"he asked quietly.
Antonio nodded in agreement. "Two weeks. It's not that long.."
But...it was. Those two weeks drug out slowly.
The day that Lovino made it back to Antonio's house to see the group, he was immediately attacked by his brother, who caused such a rucus that the others came from the back yard to see what was going on.
Antonio smiled and as soon as Feliciano moved back to the group and released Lovino, had the elder Italian swept from his feet in a hug. "I've missed you, mi tomate."he commented.
Lovino scowled at that. "Set me down."he snipped.
Antonio did so, confusion displayed on his face.
The Italian disappeared after that to a room, and Feliciano spoke. "Jet lag always makes his temper worse. Plus, he's spent two weeks with our mom...that couldn't have been easy. Just let him have a siesta and he'll be alright."
This got a few nods. Even so, Antonio couldn't help but frown at Lovino's behaviour. He seemed more distant than he had been before and he worried that Lovino had been put through hell again while he was away. It wouldn't surprise him in the slightest.
Yeah..here.
By the way, guys..I thought I'd do something like this this time. We're close to 400 reviews now...so..the person who gets the 400th review will get to choose a pairing and stuff for a story. That way I have something new going on as well for you guys, because I know I've been slacking in the Hetalia area..
