Hey guys! So you all convinced me to continue this story. I know I've been gone for a while and your memory might be rusty, but I'll give you all a review.
Nina has been gone for years after Rufus possessed her and her friends feared her. Years later, Rufus returns to haunt Nina and she is forced to go the high school reunion back in Anubis house. There, she starts rekindling with her friends and after multiple scares, Nina, Fabian, and the rest of Sibuna has to find the Mirror of Nephthys before things go completely wrong.
Ok so I hope that triggers something. If it doesn't, then just remember that Fabian and Nina a have to stay together in Amber's house and Nina just found Amber's Fabina Scrapbook. Uh oh.
Chapter 27
Fabian's POV-
Nina was having an emotional breakdown from seeing the pictures of us together I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the memories had come back. I let her cuddle in to my shoulder and we sat in silence for about five minutes, only to be interrupted by heels and a knock.
Amber: Nina, Fabian, I'm coming in!
Amber came in and froze when she saw the scene before her.
Amber: Um… Nina, are you ok?
Nina: No, fly burp. Wire you have bat scab bulk of us?
Her voice was mumbled by my shirt, so I lifted her head slightly and asked her to repeat herself.
Fabian: Nina, we couldn't hear you through my shirt. Can you please say it again?
Nina: I- she- Amber, why do you have that scrapbook of us?!
Amber: Nina, you know how hard I ship you two. It's not really a surprise. Is that a problem?
Fabian: Amber, it's just that… first you tell Willow we're married and then we just find a scrapbook about everything… you do remember that we're not a couple anymore, right?
Amber lowered her head, knowing that I had a point, while Nina nuzzled back in to my shoulder.
Amber: I just… I'm sorry, Nina.
Nina didn't respond and Amber backed out of the room.
Amber: Its 6, so when you guys are ready, you can come down for dinner. Also, when you two ran off, Trudy told us that the reunion itself has been postponed until tomorrow night because Victor wasn't back.
She walked away, knowing she wouldn't get an answer from either of us. Nina wasn't crying anymore. She wasn't upset anymore. She was confused.
Fabian: Do you want some dinner now?
Nina shook her head.
Nina: I'm just going to bed. I'm very tired.
Fabian: Are you sure?
She nodded lightly and crawled in to the bed, obviously tired of this conversation. I sighed and turned off the lights, bidding Nina sweet dreams. I went down and found my way to the dining room. Amber's head perked up when I opened the door, but I knew she was disappointed when she saw me alone.
Amber: I'm assuming Nina's not very pleased with me.
Fabian: What made you think that?
Amber: I may be dumb, but I'm not stupid, Fabian. I didn't mean for her to react that way. Actually, I forgot I had those scrapbooks.
Fabian: And what about us being called Mr. and Mrs.?
Amber: I… might have done that on purpose, but-
Fabian: Why did you do it?
Amber: I… don't know why I did it. I just did, ok?
I nodded and sat down. Willow came in and placed a bowl of soup in front of me. She smiled at me and asked an innocent question.
Willow: How are you enjoying your stay so far?
Fabian: It's… um- something. I… um…
Willow: Is everything ok?
Fabian: I… I don't know.
Willow: What's wrong? Where's the girl?
Fabian: Who? Nina? She's… tired. That's all.
Willow: Are you sure that's it?
Fabian: I'm pretty sure. Why?
Willow: Well, is she using sleep as an excuse to be alone or something?
Fabian: I- how did you- she's just… maybe.
Willow: You should talk to her. Maybe talking will fix everything.
Fabian: Talking is what got her there in the first place.
Willow: Oh, is she ok?
Fabian: I- I don't know if she's ok. I don't even know if I'm ok.
Willow: Well, what happened?
I stood up abruptly and looked at Amber.
Fabian: Amber knows what happened. Go ahead and ask her.
I started to leave but I stopped when Willow spoke up.
Willow: What about your soup? It's getting cold.
Fabian: I'm not hungry.
With that, I marched up the stairs. I think it's about time I go to bed.
Nina's POV-
I was lying down in bed. I stared up at the ceiling. Hello there. How's your day been? Of course, I got no answer. What's it like to be up there? What's it like to be so alone? Again, I got no response. Hey, Mrs. Ceiling, what would you do if you liked your best friend and ex-boyfriend again, but you were too afraid to even ask him out for lunch?
Sarah: Well, what are you afraid of?
I jumped out of bed and saw Sarah sitting on the loveseat.
Nina: Sarah? What are you doing here?
Sarah: You seemed lonely. By the way, ceilings don't answer your questions, people do.
I blushed heavily.
Nina: You heard that?
Sarah: Every last word. What are you afraid of?
Nina: What are you talking about?
Sarah: The question about the Rutter boy-
Nina: What? You think I was asking about Fabian? I- what- as if! I don't like him like that!
Sarah: Dead or alive, I can tell when you're telling a lie. So, what's so special about this boy?
I thought for a moment, my eyes on my lap. What IS so special about Fabian? What is it that kept me in love this long? Could it be his deep beautiful eyes? Maybe it's the way he talks. Wait, I know.
Nina: I think it's the way he looks at me and talks to me. He's always there when I need him and… he sees me for who I am and he treats me right. He- he's perfect. That's what's so special about him.
I looked up to see the loveseat empty and the door open, Fabian standing in the doorway.
Fabian: Who are you talking about?
Nina: No one. Why are you back so soon? I thought you went to dinner.
Fabian: Well, that was the plan, but I guess I changed my mind. I realized I wasn't hungry.
Nina: Oh. Are you tired?
Fabian: Ya. It's been a long day, so we both deserve some sleep.
Nina: That sounds like a good idea.
I fell back in bed and remembered one very important detail about the room. There's only one bed.
