"Shuddup." Naruto Groaned as his hand whacked the button on the alarm. "It's only -" He yawned. "7:30."

He dragged himself out of his bed to go about his day. Seventeen years old, son of the Hokage, a Jonin since he was fourteen, hero of a dozen battles along side his teammates. And now a sensei. He was everyone's choice for when his father retired.

"HIYAAAAHHHH!"

"Yelling ruins the surprise, Iroh." He ducked under his students kick, grabbed his wrist and placed him in a head lock. "We discussed this. Do I need to repeat the lesson?"

"No Sensei . . ."

"Well then let's get started . . ."

When the training was all done, Naruto walked down the main street of Konoha. The world felt flat and empty to him, it was missing something, but he couldn't place it.

"Naruto!" Sakura stuck her head out of a bar window. "Come join us! A few of us are having a drink, come join us."

"Careful, you'll fall." Sasuke wrapped an arm around his girlfriends waist and pulled her inside. "Hurry up Naruto, I need someone who can match me drink for drink."

"I'm not in the mood for alcohol, and my job requires me not to have a hangover."

"Oh come on Naruto." Hinata leaned out the window. "Please?!"

"Fine. Just sit down ok?" Naruto turned into the bar.

"So how's being a Sensei?" Sasuke asked. "Are they as bad as us?"

"No-one is that bad. How's being ANBU Captain?"

They sat and drank like that for a while, before beginning to head back to their own residences. As he left the bar, the moon caught Naruto's eye and the flat, empty feeling returned.

"What's wrong Naruto, you stopped." Hinata called back at him.

"The moon." He muttered. "Something about the moon. I can't remember - It's probably nothing."

I like a degree of intensity in my new chapters, BUT ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME KISHIMOTO?! ALL THAT FIGHTING AND THEY STILL ARE GOING TO BE TRAPPED IN THE MUGEN TSUKYOMI?!

This was not a prompt, but rather head cannons firing.
