What Was Lost

It was gone everything. His village. His home. His old life. His closest friend had left him. Both of his Teachers, Kakashi of the Sharingan and Jiraiya of the Legendary Sannin had been felled. Killed by the enemy he had just defeated.

But he felt no joy. No jubilation at his victory. It was hollow. He had nothing left. They had taken everything, destroyed everything, everything which had validated his existence.

And he had no idea how to react. Tears? Screaming? He wanted to laugh. A large, loud, hollow sounding laugh, like the ones of movie villains when they know they are beaten and they are starting to go crazy. He may have beaten the enemy, he may have stopped them, but he had lost so much. A hollow victory as they say.

"Rinne-Tensei!"

He cracked his eyes open to look at the enemy. He though he defeated him, what fresh hell was in store for him now? He felt Chakra flare on the edges of his conscience, and . . .

No. It couldn't be. That was the chakra of those confirmed dead. He looked over at the enemy, now slumped in his chair.

Maybe not all was lost, after all.

Thanks for the prompts guys! I'm still open for them (when am I not? There is no such thing as too many) Remember, Title, characters (Characters not necessary).
