AN: Hey. Here's a new chapter. Canada had me worried today before church. I was flipping out and stuff. And Switzerland was at church tonight! I've missed her! She wasn't happy with me. Russia knew I had cut and he made me let him check my arm and she saw. She gave me a hug and said it was okay, but I could tell it upset her.
To those who reviewed:
Spamano4ever: Yeah. Sorry.
Luvrainluv: Yeah. And yeah, it was...well, yeah. She noticed this evening on the bus ride home from school and her reaction was 'what happened' I told her nothing, and she picked up on it and asked what I had done about five more times. I have to tell her later why. But I'm glad she cared enough to do that. And they are good brothers, huh? The plan will come out soon.
Enjoy.
It took them a week to get things fixed and all planned out perfectly. Each day, it was the group working at school on it and then working at Lovino's workplace on the evenings he had work.
This was the last day they had to plan before they had to get started. And it was that day that things shifted in air.
While Lovino was on his break and working with the others, a young boy came up to him and tugged on his jacket sleeve.
Lovino glanced at him, making Gilbert fall silent for a moment. "Hey there, little one."he greeted, kneeling down to be at eye level with the child.
This gained some soft smiles from the others and a kind smile from the boy. "Hi."he greeted. "Daddy asked me to come get you, said he wanted to speak with you for a bit?"
Lovino nodded and looked back at the others. "I'll be back soon, okay? Keep going."he told them before standing and letting the child lead him to a nearby table, still within hearing distance of the others.
The man smiled softly, lifting the child into his seat before he spoke. "Sorry about that."he said kindly. "I know you're on break right now.."
Lovino shook his head. "It's no problem, I promise. What's going on?"
"I was just wondering if you could clear something up for me. I've seen you and your friends working on something for the past week..and I was wondering if something's going on that you needed help with?"
Lovino's eyes portrayed his surprise and he had to take a moment to remember how to respond correctly. "No, no..not at all. Just something we're doing as a group that requires planning. No big deal. But thanks for asking. It's kind of you."
This gained a soft smile. "Got it. Listen, I want you to remember something..I've heard some talk about you from some of the other workers here, as well as the other customers..no matter what's happened, you're still perfect as you are. I've heard great things about you, Lovino."
Lovino shook his head. "Half of those things are lies, I'm betting. I'm not all that great."he said. "But I need to get back to planning and stuff before my break's up."
The man nodded, but said one last thing before Lovino could leave again. "You know, even angels have their moments of doubt, of brokenness. And everyone has scars. Don't hide everything. I'm sure your friends care a great deal for you,"
Lovino gave him one last look before moving back to the table with his friends.
Antonio grabbed his hand as soon as he was close enough and gave him a worried look. "You okay?"
Lovino blinked at the ground for a moment before he nodded. "Yeah, yeah, I'm okay.."he mumbled.
But the fact that he was swaying told Vash he was lying. He knew this reaction. Lovino didn't react like this often, only whenever something was really wrong with a certain situation. But nonetheless it worried him. He looked at Antonio, who met his gaze before pulling Lovino into his lap.
Vash spoke. "Lovi?"he asked.
Lovino looked up and met Vash's eyes for a moment before he sighed. "I'm good..sorry."he said softly.
Vash half smiled. "A bit of a shock, huh? Not everyone is unobservant of things, you know."
"I'm not used to people doing that."
When Lovino's break was over, he got up and said one last thing before disappearing back into the kitchen again.
The rest of the shift went by quickly for Lovino. As soon as he was let off, he met up with the others and allowed Antonio to pull him onto his back with little argument.
Elizabeta smiled at the scene when she walked out. "Hey, Lovi!"she called out.
Lovino glanced over at her.
"How about you wear those wings of yours tomorrow?"
Lovino glowered. "Liz..."he warned.
Elizabeta smiled and moved to stand with the group. "Just once."
"They get in the way!"Lovino responded.
Elizabeta rolled her eyes. "Oh well. You have to wait tables anyways. Wear the wings."
Lovino huffed, but accepted his fate anyways.
"I don't think I've ever been happier to be away from home..."Lovino grumbled as he leaned against Antonio lightly at Matthew's.
Matthew laughed. "Oh, shut up and get some rest. You're exhausted and I know it."
Lovino gave a faint smile and nodded in agreement. "That I am, but we have work to finish."
Even so, halfway through finishing planning, Lovino drifted off, gaining a few kind smiles in response to it.
Still, nobody woke him up. They just finished quickly and decided to settle down for the night.
Antonio smiled down at Lovino once he had managed to shift to where they were laying down, thinking about how things had been going recently. He was just glad that Lovino was alright instead of hurt for a change. Even so, he knew it was stressing him out to have to deal with this mess right now. But he had to hand it to the Italian, he was definitely a fighter in a way that Antonio had never seen before. It was a nice different, thought.
Alright. Here you go.
