Alright, guys, I know you've all probably long since abandoned this fic and I understand why. I totally don't blame you and you're all probably pretty shocked to see an update in general. This update is just gonna serve to tell you about the fate of The Thief's Escape.
I'm abandoning this fic.
This fic always just started out as a oneshot but some commenters and my IRL friend convinced me to make it multi-chapter. I was eager at the beginning but as time went on, I was more interested in Junai Angels and Natsuyasumi V2 and less and less interested in TTE. Then I stopped being interested in my DNA fics altogether and whereas I updated JA and NV2 out of obligation, I didn't feel that same need with TTE. But now I've finally finished JA and NV2 and all I want to do is provide closure to my all DNA fics. But unlike with JA and NV2, with TTE, that means writing this note.
I do feel horrible for abandoning this fic. I never want to publicly abandon any of my projects because that means I'm letting down at least one person and I hate that. I'm really sorry to anyone who's disappointed by this news.
I know it's not as good as getting the story, but I've put my plan that I'd written out earlier for this fic below (I know, I had it planned out and everything). I really am so sorry to disappoint you all.
TL;DR: The Thief's Escape is being abandoned but at least the plan for the future chapters is below?
Just as one last note, on the off-chance that someone wanted to adopt this fic, I implore you to please PM me first to ask permission. I'm not completely opposed to the idea but you would have to make a good argument.
The Thief's Escape – Plan:
- Krad gets an invitation from a King to marry his youngest daughter Risa. Satoshi's her tutor, Daisuke her and Riku's friend. Daisuke and Sato have a secret relationship.
- Daisuke is acting as a servant but in reality, he's a thief, scoping out the castle because he plans on stealing valuable artwork. He and Dark are friends because they work in the same field.
- Satoshi & Krad grew up together. They have the same 'father' (Kei). Krad inherited his title/land while Satoshi became a tutor.
- Dark objects to Krad marrying Risa, saying that they wouldn't get along, he doesn't know her etc. But Dark sees Risa/gets to know her and sees that she's gentle, nice, feminine, and everything he believes a wife should be. This causes him to give up & admit that Krad should marry her.
- Sato sees something between Krad & Dark when they first arrive & tries to get Krad to admit to it. Krad keeps denying it.
- One day Daisuke overhears a convo between Krad & Sato, after Dark finally gives up on Krad & says that he should marry Risa, Krad confesses to Sato that he loves Dark but it's too late because Dark doesn't want him
- Daisuke tries telling Dark over drinks one night but Dark doesn't believe him.
- After the two weeks, Krad tells Dark that he's thinking of accepting the King's offer, Dark says it's a great idea
- They get all the way up until the actual wedding until at the altar or somewhere dramatic, Krad sees Dark/realises he really can't through with it. He apologises to Risa & her father & says that he's desperately in love with someone else. Risa says 'Go get 'em' and her father doesn't take any offence. He just doesn't want his daughter to be unhappy
- Back at Krad's mansion, he confesses everything to Dark, they have sex & they live happily ever after.
- Riku's in the fic being a friend to Risa, I guess. She eyes Daisuke but Daisuke is firmly in love with Sato.
