Music to My Ears
"You okay?" Naruto asked as he picked over his bowl of ramen. "You seem quiet, like more so than usual. You know you don't have to be shy around me, right?"
"I'm not being shy, I'm," Hinata paused and looked around the almost empty shop. "I'm nervous. I feel like everybody is staring at me, judging me."
"Oh." He looked thoughtful for a minute. "Do you want to leave? I'm sure Pops would package our meals up and we could go eat somewhere a bit more quiet."
Hinata gave a quick nod and a small smile. Half an hour later the were standing on top of the Hokage monument.
"Is here okay?" He smiled down at her.
"Perfect."
"So how was your day?" He asked as he sat down. "You barely spoke last time I asked."
"Same old same old. I argued with the Elders about the caged bird seal, and then went down to the academy to help teach taijutsu." Hinata smiled as she accepted the now lukewarm bowl of ramen from Naruto. "I'm sure yours was far more eventful."
"It was." He smiled before launching into the story of how his genin team had marched into Tsunade's office, demanding higher ranked missions.
"So did they get them?"
"Nah Tsunade's not stupid. She told them to come back when they were able to catch that damn cat without being covered in scratches."
Hinata started laughing at that and Nauto smiled.
"I like it when you laugh, it's like music."
All of that for a cheesy line. I am so lame.
