Hello, my lovely readers. About the chapter, Stefan is a real sleaze in here but it was fun to make him into the Anti-Stefan. On with the show…

Chapter 18: The Collection

Morals. Ethics. Who needs them, right? I, Stefan Salvatore, declare that I am not bound by the code of a mere human. That is for mortals. But, I, I am a god. What kind of god you ask? Well, a god of Love, and lots and lots of sex, Stefan informs his camera phone as he pans on a shelf behind his back. Turning to the shelves, he smirks. "This is my evidence," he declares.

"Stefan, what in hell are you doing in there?! Talking to your damned phone again? We're going to be late to school," Damon yelled, pounding a closed fist from outside the door.

Sighing, Stefan lowered the phone for a moment. "I'll be there when I get ready. I'm not dressed!" he shouted, waiting for Damon to let out his usual disgusted grunt and to leave him the hell alone.

Directing the camera at his smiling face, Stefan returns to his recording. He wants to be a film maker one day. The videos on his shelf are the results of his first efforts. So far there are three years' worth of footage on these shelves that he is proud of.

"Here are the ladies of our grand school. My wonderful co-stars. One day they'll be famous, thanks to me. I'm sure they'll thank me," he informs the phone.

Running his hands over the "Collection" as he has dubbed it, Stefan sighs as he points the camera at the names. "All three of the Gilbert Triplets are here. There's Elena from our freshman year. She called me Damon that night. Not very nice, but that's Lena for you. And I kind of liked her back then… Oh, well. Then there's Amara. You might wonder why she called me Silas in that one but she might have thought I was him. Oops. Ha. Oh, Kat? She has her entire shelf. Volumes one through twenty. Every time she ends something, she comes back to me."

Smirking, Stefan continues, "There's also Vikki Donavon while she was still with Damon, but let's face it, he didn't even like her. Anna used to party back in our sophomore year. Liv Parker has so much energy after a big game. Rose before she decided to become a 'born again virgin.' Sage, I lost my virginity to that wonderful woman before she became the head of the lamest club ever. God bless her." Winking at the camera and laughing, Stefan hears more knocking on the door.

"Come on, Stefan! Damon is about to leave your ass here!" Silas growls through the door.

Stefan waits for Silas to go. After a moment there is the sound of heavy footsteps leaving. Stefan snickers as he goes back to chronicling his exploits. "Andie is a star. At least in our movie. That was before rehab. Now, she's just kind of sad. Good thing I got the film first, right? Bonnie Bennett may be the love of my life. That girl gave me one of the top ten nights of my life. She tied me to my bed and burned me with candle wax. Unfortunately she said that was a onetime thing. Maybe next year after our graduation…"

Smiling, Stefan pauses for a moment with his fingers tracing the outline of a box. "This would have been Cami… Salvatore, but she figured out that I wasn't Tom. Which is a good thing 'cause I'm not sure I'm ready to be a daddy. Ha, props to my brother, Thomas, who is trying to not go to jail. Now, where was I… Hayley, Hayley, Hayley. She rocked my world and unfortunately someone has paid one hell of a price for you, my dear girl. You're going to have to leave your friends," Stefan pulled down the box labeled Hayley and placed it inside his backpack.

"I know. I know there are a few names that have yet to make the list. That is about to change during prom. I just have to figure out what lovely lady it will be." Placing his finger on three empty boxes, he shakes his head, having no idea which one it would be. "Shall it be the wonderful Jenna Sommers who has yet to grace my shelf and is about to leave us in June…? Will it be the adorable freshman, Davina Claire, who would look great on my shelf? Or will it be the crowning achievement, Caroline Forbes? I guess we'll just have to see..."

Chuckling, Stefan heaved the bag on his shoulder and then looked down at the shelf, slapping his forehead. "I forgot. Lena, you're coming with me, too, dear. And," Stefan placed a hand over his eyes, reaching for one video, not wanting to choose from his masterpieces. Pulling his hand down, he was relieved to see who he picked. "You ladies, are worth a year's worth of film school," he told them, patting his bag.

Heading out to the driveway, Stefan saw Damon pulling out and driving away. Shrugging, Stefan decided to pull out his phone and call Jesse. He figured that the other teen had not made it to the school just yet. "Yo, Jesse, man. Come pick me up." He did not state it as a question because he and Jesse didn't ask favors from each other. They just did whatever.

A few minutes later, Jesse pulled up with Aaron who looked like he was going to die in the backseat. "People hate me. They really fucking hate me!" Aaron uttered from his seat.

"They will 'till they find someone else to," Stefan assured his friend even though he thought Aaron was a freakin' idiot. He might hate Damon sometimes, but he was his brother. "And you're going to be graduating soon and can go get a new life where no one knows you."

"Yeah," Aaron said quietly. "Did you tell Damon how sorry I am? I never thought that something like that would happen. I thought the worst would be that Elena would beat him up or something. I didn't think that her dad would…"

"Yeah. Yeah. We get it, man," Jesse said with a roll of his eyes. Turning the radio up, he grinned. "But prom is going down soon and we need to find some chicks to take. I'm not going stag, that's for sure."

"Really?" Stefan joked with a smirk as they pulled into the school parking lot. "Who are you going to ask?"

"I don't know. Maybe I'll ask your sister-in-law since Tommy's stuck behind bars and she's losing that baby fat real fast. Looking kind of hot," Jesse told them causing Stefan to laugh.

"Tom will kill you. Oh, look. I gotta go. See ya," Stefan called over his shoulder making his way down the hallway. He had a business transaction to get through this morning.

Elijah Mikaelson was leaned up against a locker, pressing his foot down on a freshman's shoulder as the kid begged to be pardoned for whatever offense he had caused. "You got what I asked for?" Elijah inquired with an upraised eyebrow.

"Yes," Stefan replied as Elijah shoved the freshman away and turned to him as a red haired girl appeared at his side. "Gen, did you bring the money I told you to take from my father's safe?"

Genevieve nodded, "Yup. No biggie other than I ran into Kol and he made me give him like a thousand while I was still in there."

"Oh, how good of him," Elijah rolled his eyes as he held out a hand for the boxes that Stefan was digging out.

"What do you want with Elena's?" Stefan inquired.

"That is for me to know, and for you to find out." Elijah snapped, ripping the boxes out of Stefan's hand and then handing him a back pack that was incredibly light. The Salvatore teen became suspicious but he was not stupid enough to open the bag, here, in the hallway. "Have a good day, Stefan," Elijah said as he and Genevieve disappeared into the crowd. Stefan sneered after the other teens. They were not his favorite people.

Taking the whole day in stride, Stefan began to whistle as he headed off to his first class, Biology. Boring. But on the bright side it meant that he could sit behind his first target for prom, Jenna. Plopping down behind the girl who was studiously reading a text, not even paying attention to who was around her. Stefan coughed. When she did not look up, or even around her, Stefan felt irritated. Coughing again, he waited. Jenna didn't move a muscle. 'What the hell was so great about that damned book?' Stefan wondered.

Leaning forward, he noticed that she was actually reading Twilight. Rolling his eyes, Stefan wondered why girls thought those books were so great. Was it that broody guy with the sad looking girlfriend? Stefan could do broody. Smirking to himself, he almost started laughing. No, no way. Stefan liked himself too much to become that much of a bore.

Chuckling, Stefan picked up a pen and dropped it right beside Jenna's left foot. That also did not get a response. Getting up, Stefan casually leaned down and peered up Jenna's skirt. 'Black and lacy. Nice,' he thought when someone coughed and Stefan looked up to see Alaric, Damon's boyfriend, staring daggers down at him. "Lose something?" Ric asked in a not-so-friendly tone.

"Yeah, my pen," Stefan said, holding it up as Jenna put hers books down and stared at the two.

"Yeah, I could see that," Ric said sarcastically.

Stefan decided to ignore him since Jenna was paying attention now. "Hey, Jenna. Did you have a date to prom?" Stefan inquired.

Jenna pursed her lips. "I was going to sit this one out," she told him.

"Really? That would be a shame since it'll be your last one. And I bet that you'll be a hottest girl there," Stefan was giving this all the charm he could exude and Jenna looked unimpressed. Damn.

"I just want to read a good book that night. But thanks for asking," Jenna said, picking up her books and returning to them.

Stefan was about to say something when Ric placed a hand on his shoulder. "The lady said no. How about we leave it that way?" he suggested, pressing his body weight into his hand and making Stefan wince.

"Sure," Stefan replied lightly, shoving Ric's hand off before returning to his seat. Sinking on to his stool, Stefan was determined to not feel defeated. There were still two more girls on his list. One of them would go with him. He was sure of it.

Going from class to class, Stefan waited for the perfect moment and when it arrived he was thrilled to find Caroline Forbes, alone, in front of her locker. She was shoving books into her locker and mindlessly staring into space. This would be easy. "Hey, Caroline. So I was wondering, what is a lovely lady like you doing for prom?"

Caroline brushed the wisps of hair that were coming out of her braid and stared at Stefan. "I… uh… Prom? That's coming up?" she looked confused. Stefan wondered if she was on something.

"Yeah, it is. And I thought that if you weren't already going with anyone that you would like to go with me," Stefan cocked an eyebrow with a wide grin that usually got women to do what he wanted. Not this time though since Caroline was looking over his shoulder.

"Sorry, mate, but Caroline already has a date to the prom," Klaus mfing Mikaelson announced, coming to stand beside Caroline.

Caroline's brows scrunched. "I do?" she looked confused.

"Yes, me," Klaus said as if it was obvious. "I thought it would only be natural… Unless… I mean… You're right. I should have done this differently," he said, rubbing his temples. "Right," he said with a wide grin. Getting down on one knee, he took Caroline's left hand. "Caroline Forbes, will you go to the Junior prom with me?" Just because they weren't Juniors yet didn't meant they couldn't crash Damon's night.

Laughing, Caroline leaned down to hug Klaus. "Of course," she replied.

People began to cheer and hoot at them. Stefan felt his teeth clench. Why was it looking like his brother's idiotic friends were going to stop him from being able to add any new material to his "Collection?"

Shaking his head, Stefan walked away from Caroline and Klaus who didn't even seem to notice that he was gone. "Whatever," he thought. That meant that he still had one left. And he would make sure that they weren't interrupted.

Watching the clock tick away the minutes until the school day was over, Stefan was happy to exit his anatomy class. They had no idea what the human body was for. However, Stefan had all sorts of uses for it. Heading down the hall, he made a sharp turn and found himself just outside the art room where one Davina Claire was busily sketching away. Looked like she was making a new project.

"Hey, Davina. Nice… whatever it is that you're drawing there," Stefan called, causing the young artist to jump before turning to stare at him. She was really pretty. Maybe he could make this last longer than one time. Maybe not.

Coming over to sit on a stool, facing the young artist, Stefan smiled. "Would you like a new model? I don't mind posing in the nude," he told the girl who blushed bright red. That was not a sight he had seen from many of the girls that he hung with, and it was kind of nice.

"Ummm… I think my teacher would disapprove of that. But thanks for offering…" Davina replied quietly as she continued her sketch. After a moment she looked back at Stefan. "Is there something else you wanted?" she asked, looking slightly nervous.

Looking down at the floor, Stefan had to stop himself from describing in great detail what that something was. Composing himself, he looked up with wide eyes. "Yeah. And this is kind of embarrassing, so you can't go around telling everyone in the school," he whispered and Davina's expression changed to one of concern.

"You know it's not really a big deal…" Stefan said, looking at the ceiling.

Crossing the distance between them, Davina took Stefan's hands in hers. "Tell me. I can keep a secret," she told him quietly.

"Well, you know that prom is coming up and it's not that big a deal for most guys but for some reason I always thought it was kind of cool to get all dressed up and dance with the most beautiful girl in the world. Maybe it's because when I was young Damon used to tie my brothers and I up and force us to watch Disney Princess movies," Stefan confided as a tear trailed down his cheek. "God, this is so embarrassing. I should go," he began to get up when Davina placed her hands on his shoulders.

"No, it's okay," she reassured him, smiling. "I think it's sweet. So, why can't you go?"

"Because I don't have the courage to ask that beautiful girl to go with me. I'm… I'm afraid… she'll say no," Stefan murmured, looking at their hands.

"Well, you won't know if you don't ask," Davina told him with a smile.

"Okay," Stefan replied, nodding his head. "You're right. Well, Davina Claire, would you go to prom with me?" he searched her eyes which were now impossibly wide.

"Oh, you meant me?" she asked, looking shocked.

"Yes, of course. Ever since the first time I saw you I couldn't look away," Stefan told her, placing his hand to her cheek and stroking her skin, staring at her lips.

"Oh, okay. That would great!" Davina said hoarsely. "I mean yes. Yes, Stefan, I would love to go to prom with you."

"Good," Stefan said, leaning forward, he kissed her slowly, taking his time as he wrapped his arms around the girl's waist. 'That was almost too easy,' he thought gleefully as he pressed the girl's body to his. He thought of the mini-mascot at home that sat atop his dresser. He told the girls that he brought home that his father bought him the stuffed Timberwolf for his freshman year for good luck. Actually, it was there to record the goings-on in his bedroom. Stefan thanked the paranoia of the modern mothers and the "Nanny Cam." It was truly a wonderful invention.

Comments? Questions?

Thank you for taking the time to read/review/fav/follow this work in progress.

Answers to reviews?

Jessinicole: Thank you for reviewing.

Jenny: Thank you. I like Davina so much and I thought that she would end up with a crush on Damon if she ever met him, especially if they were human.

Klaus and Caroline do love each other a lot in this fic and we will see how much Klaus loves Caroline in the next chapter…

JuseaPeterson: Rebekah just needed to heal from a bad experience.

Maybe…

Have you ever heard the quote from Shakespeare "Thou dost protest too much" or something like that. That might be a bad paraphrase.

Thank you and I think we'll probably see the game happen again since Damon will be a senior from chapter 21-40.

There are little love bits and friend bits that are a joy to write.

All hail, King Damon and Queen Caroline of the land of Kissing. Long may they reign.

ObsessWithElijah: They probably will at some point. Maybe the next party…

I can't wait to write those bits.

Peace,

Jessica
