"Rima? Get up it's time for school!" Mother called up the stairs. She didn't have to though, Rima was already dressed and running down the stairs. She gulped down her breakfast and ran back up stairs to brush her teeth. After she was done with that she began to make her way out the door.

"WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!" Father's voice boomed. Rima froze in her place. Recently, it was rare for Mother and Father to be home at the same time. "Don't you dare step out of this house! Let your Mother take you!" The incident of her kidnapping came back and she backed away from the door.

"Come on Rima." Mother said, softly ushering Rima out. The trip was quiet and quick, but it didn't put a dent in Rima's good mood. She jumped out of the car and rushed into school. Rima and Nagihiko knew they were going to be in the same class. Rima was too shy to ask to see Nagihiko as a girl beforehand. Now she couldn't wait to see him...or her, for the first time.

Upon entering the class she realised there was almost no one there. The teacher was at her desk and Shouta was there at his desk. Rima adjusted her light blue 5th grade uniform and sat next to him.

"Hey Shouta-kun." She greeted. He looked up with a slight blush.

"Good morning Mashiro-san." He responded. The two continued with their small talk as the class slowly filled up. The morning bell rang and there was still no sign of Nagi.

"Good morning class. We have a new transfer student joining us today. Her name is Fujisaki Nadeshiko-san. Fujisaki-san?" The teacher asked gesturing toward the door. The door gracefully slid open and a tall girl walked in. Her long purple hair was tied back in a high ponytail and she wore the Shiro uniform.

"Hello everyone, my name is Nadeshiko-chan. I hope to be friends with all of you!" Nadeshiko greeted cheerfully. Rima couldn't believe it, this wasn't her Nagihiko. This was not the person she had confessed her love to. Rima was suddenly filled with confusion and so many other feelings she couldn't quite place.

"Fujisaki, why don't you sit by Mashiro-chan?"

Nadeshiko's eyes scanned the room and landed on Rima. Her eyes grew slightly brighter as she skillfully walked to the seat next to Rima's. Rima didn't speak to her, or look at her or talk to her, because she didn't know this girl sitting next to her. She wasn't even sure she was going to like this girl.

During class, while Rima was doing her best to solve all her math problems, a folded up paper landed on her desk.

'Rima are you ok?' Rima stared at the note, at the familiar handwriting and felt all those feelings drift away. How could she ever think she wouldn't like Nagihiko, Nagi was Nagi no matter what he looked like.

Rima smiled at Nadeshiko and returned the note with her answer on it. 'I'll adjust.'

When lunch came Nagihiko almost completely broke character and grabbed Rima's hand. "Let's go together, shall we Rima-chan?"

The whole class was shocked by this and stopped to watch Rima and Nagi leave. Already the whispers had begun. "Of course the two prettiest girls would be quick friends."

"I should have known." "No surprise there."

"Nagihiko! You can't just do that!" Rima hissed.

"Why not? We're cousins aren't we?" Nadeshiko asked smiling at Rima. Her face, her voice, her look, all of it was so different. Nagi, was still Nagi though, right? No, this was Nadeshiko. Rima ripped her hand away from Nadeshiko's. Nadeshiko wasn't the person that Rima loved.

"No we're not. You need to earn my friendship." Rima just didn't feel close to this person whoever she was. Some kids watched from the class room door way, one of them being Shouta. Rima headed straight for him and grabbed his hand.

"Let's go." She said pulling Shouta straight past Nadeshiko. Nadeshiko watched in shock as Rima pulled the other boy down the hall. Suddenly he felt something wet seep through his shirt. Nadeshiko looked down and saw a huge puddle of tears wetting his blouse. Nagihiko knew everyone was staring at him, he didn't even need to look.

Tenderly he reached up and wiped off his cheek. He had never cried like this before. Nagihiko didn't care about the kids watching, he only cared about Rima. That's the only person he would ever care for

"Damn it." He said, abandoning the Naddy voice. The kids were shocked, as he burst through the crowd. All he wanted now was Rima, but he would have to let her cool off first. The next best thing was to be alone and so that's what he did. Nagihiko stormed down the hall and looked for a bathroom. When he finally did find the bathrooms he was confronted with the constant choice of which to go into. The girl's bathroom, or the boys?

Nagihiko just gave out a frustrated grunt before choosing to enter the female bathroom. He pulled the sakura hair tie from his hair and watched his reflection as the hair fell to his sides. He focused his serious gaze on his reflection. For so long he tried to pretend he didn't exist when Nadeshiko was around. He tried to pretend like she was a completely different entity but she wasn't. Now he just couldn't distinguish the line between where Nadeshiko ended and Nagihiko began.

Nagihiko continued to cry. He spent so much time forcing his emotions back that he couldn't hold them anymore. The bathroom door opened suddenly and an odd-looking girl walked inside. Her hair was a bright pink and her clothes altered like nothing Nagi had ever seen. She was grumbling and adjusting her cuffs when she saw him. Upon spotting the tears on Nagihiko's face she froze.

"Oh." She said lowering her hands. "Uhh, sorry." The girl uncomfortably turned around and began to leave. Nagihiko scoffed and turned on the water.

"You know, sometimes I wish I had some one to talk to, when I'm..." The girl said turning back to face Nagi "sad." She finished.

Nagi looked at her with his eyes red and runny nose.

"You have no idea who I am. How could I possibly talk to you about this?" Nagihiko answered bitterly. The girl hid her arms behind her back and shrugged.

"Well, sometimes it's easier to talk to some one you don't know. You never have to face them again, and it won't matter who they tell because it won't affect you." She said. Nagihiko realized she had a point. He turned around to face her and leaned on the sink.

"Can I know your last name first?" He asked.

"Hinamori." She said, suddenly shy.

"Alright Hinamori. There's this person, I really like. We've been talking and hanging out forever now and...I told them that I loved them. And they said it back. And today I transferred to this school, where they go and..." Nagihiko bit his lip. At least his cracking, high voice made it easier to imitate a woman's voice. "Today I guess I came on too strong and they got mad at me and ignored me and, it hurt. A lot."

Hinamori looked at him with clouded eyes. She was thinking about this very carefully.

"Culture shock." She said trying to keep a tactful approach. "The person just isn't used to this side of you. Course there's nothing wrong with crying a little, venting. Just give them some time to get used to everything." Hinamori smiled gently. Nagihiko thought over what she said and thought it deserved a try. He looked her over again and saw they wore the uniform for the same grade.

"Do you, want to sit together at lunch?" Nagihiko asked.

"Well, depends." Hinamori put her hands on her hips. "You gonna tell me you last name first?"

Clearing things up. No Amuhiko. I'm not against the couple that's just not where this story is heading. I want to tell Rima and Nagi's story up to adulthood which requires their guardian days, where Rima didn't get along with Nagihiko and was jealous of Nadeshiko. I need to create a back story for that and this is the direction I've decided to go in.
