Because I Can

It was a family thing they guessed. An utter determination they all shared to do exactly what they wanted, when they wanted, how they wanted, Just because they could.

Every "You can't do that!" was just another challenge. Sure they could. And they did. She mastered the Art of the Fan at age thirteen. The middle sibling built his own puppets at an age most couldn't. And the youngest brother? He was a world leader by his fifteenth birthday.

It was never a matter of them being geniuses, to be honest they never felt they fell into tha category. They knew a true genius, and they knew that wasn't a label that applied to them. It was a matter of determination and willpower, of replacing the words 'I can't' with 'I can try'.

They would carry this mentality with them for the rest of their days, faces set in stone as they shouldered responsibilities others said were too much.

I was pretty sick yesterday, sorry :(
