Tori was nervously waiting for Jade to arrive after the goths lunch with her brother. Something had come up, and Tori needed to address it before her family could. She wasn't used to feeling so possessive over someone, but Jade, the softer side, the protective girl who'd support her, this was worth grabbing onto. It was something she needed to address now.

Jade arrived looking happy. It was a look she'd been seeing on Jade a lot more recently. Tori took a moment to enjoy how that smile made her girlfriend seem to glow. But not too long. This was her moment, the moment she handled this issue. Trina was out by the pool with Scott, and her parents were out getting stuff for one of those rare parties that the church liked to host. Tori was looking forward to so much over the next week. But Jade had to be handled now.

"Jade, you're here." Tori opened. 'Great opening. Smooth going.' She chided herself.

"Really? Damn this dementia, I don't know where I'm going these days." Jade replied, then gave her girlfriend a kiss on her pouting lips.

Tori couldn't help but smile. "I was wondering, are we going too fast?" She asked.

"Sometimes I think you're trying to, but then your dad reminds me that different couples move at different speeds." Jade replied. "So this is about the lack of sex?"

For once Tori didn't flinch. "Nope." She replied. "This is about me." Tori walked her girlfriend to the couch and sat down so she could look in Jade's eyes. "I've been feeling very posessive lately. Jealous of the time that Trina gets to spend with you. I'm even a little upset that I can't show you off at church. I know it's stupid, but I really feel like I don't want to share." Tori looked down.

"I'm not going anywhere." Jade said. "I'm not going to just abandon what we have. I know... God I know what a total bitch I can be, but..." Jade was searching for her words.

"Jade, it's okay. I know, this is my problem." Tori assured Jade.

"Is it? I once threatened to break up with Beck over something trivial, like the time he didn't reply to my text withing an hour. When we fought, I would assume he was planning on leaving me, and wanted out." Jade was starting to sound upset, and it hurt Tori.

"Jade, it's okay." Tori tried. 'Jade still loves Beck.' She said to herself.

"No it's not." Jade shot back. "Tori, I love you, and I'm afraid of saying something stupid and ruining everything. I feel so bad for the way I treated Beck, cause now I'm on the other side, afraid of what I'll lose if you get tired of me. It's why we can't screw until we're both sure." Jade took Tori's hand. "In a kinda janked up way, we can't have sex until we don't feel like we need to."

"I'm not sure I understand any of that." Tori said. "I just know I'm afraid that you'll realize that you could do better, or that I'm so different, and move on to someone who's more like you."

"I've never dated a goth." Jade said, her voice lighter. "Not sure I'd want to. Tori, what you're feeling describes so much my time with Beck, and that's scaring me. I don't want you feeling like you might lose me. Not over a fight. Not over a disagreement. Not over anything." Jade scooted closer. "I don't want to hurt you."

"I was telling everyone, at brunch, how we might find some matching clothing." Tori started. She knew enough to stop there.

"So you want to get the first fight out of the way?" Jade asked, sounding more serious than she'd intended.

"No." Tori said. "I just, you know, wanted everyone to know you were with me." Tori gave a shy smile.

"Then do what you always do, and grab my boob." Jade replied.

Tori almost did a spit take, until she realized she wasn't drinking anything. Her eyes were opened as far as they could go, and for a second her face was the picture of embarrassed shock. "I don't, I mean... I never..." Tori stammered out as her face turned red.

"Tori, breath." Jade said. "It was a joke." She tried to assure the singer. "It was just a stupid joke."

Tori took several moments to calm down. Her face was still red, and she felt very warm. If they weren't alone in the living room, Tori would have sworn everyone was staring. "Don't joke about that." She chided.

"Sorry." Jade whispered, not sounding very sorry. She then started cuddling into Tori, trying to show she was there for her girlfriend.

"I mean, groping you is serious business." Tori continued. "And given their size, density, and such, I think we should be serious when you say I can grab one. I need to plan it out, where to start..Murff." Jade kissed Tori, ending the discussion about her boobs.

"Jade, I was thinking, maybe you could do like a writing project, come up with an American type martial arts film that we could star in." Trina said as she entered the house. She saw Jade sitting, hovering above the leaning back Tori, kissing her neck and face. "I'll come back later."

"See!" Scotty chimes in from the sliding door. "Jade's marking Tori."

That comment broke the moment. "Hey, he's right." Tori said. "How may hickeys have I hidden, embarrassed, when you were trying to mark me?" Tori asked.

"None." Jade replied. "In the time Beck and I were together, how may hickeys did you see on his skin?"

Tori took a moment to think about it. "He was good at hiding them?" She tried.

"No, I was." Jade replied. "He didn't think is was manly to have a hickey. If I could have gotten away with it, I'd have marked the chiz out of him."

"So you admit it!" Tori said, slipping back.

"I already told you, I was always scared he wasn't that interested in me, and that he'd dump me for another girl." Jade replied. "Lord knows, he's always had a line of them, waiting to be his next girlfriend."

"Um, Tori..." Trina started.

"So?" Tori asked. She knew Jade wasn't interested in Beck, but was still feeling hurt.

"Tori..." Trina tried again.

"I'd never do anything to jeopardize our relationship." Jade said. "I know, if I mark you, it'd be with your permission. And blessing."

"Tori?" Trina tried yet again.

"What?" An exasperated Tori said to her sister. "Can't you see Jade and I are having a moment."

'It's just, you've got a little something on your neck." Trina motioned.

Jade looked, open mouthed. "Oh my chiz, I'm so sorry." She said as Tori pulled out her hand mirror.

Tori looked, and there on her neck was a hickey. She looked at the size, the coloration, everything. It was just starting, obviously from the make out session they'd been having. "Jade, I'm sorry for accusing you of deliberately doing this. I've dated guys who like to mark their territory, and with your history, I just thought..."

"You know, you sound happy about that thing." Jade replied.

"I am." Tori said. "You didn't know you were leaving them. That either means I have softer skin than Beck does, or you're more vigorous with me than you were with him." The Latina was smirking.

"Then she's more vigorous." Trina said.

"I'll look up ways to hide it." Jade started, opening her phone.

"No comment" Scotty said to Trina. He'd walked in to the room by now, and knew enough to let the girls have their moment.

"Oh No! I want you to sign this one." Tori said. "If I'm the one who has to be marked, claimed, then so be it. At least now the guys at school, the one's who've noticed you've become less homicidal, will be able to see the message."

"Message?' Jade asked Trina.

"Property of Tori." The older girl said. "I think she's planning on getting you a t shirt."

"As long as it's black, maybe with red letters." Jade said. "|And I don't have to ware it all the time."

A short while later, David and Holly Vega walked into their home. "Girls, Scotty, could you help with the groceries." Holly called.

"Yes sir." Scotty said, racing out to the car. Jade rolled her eyes, saw David looking at her, and, while mumbling to herself, walked out to help bring in the groceries.

"Holy chiz, how much are you bringing to that barbeque?" Jade asked as she saw the loaded car.

Of course, the Vega's were all inside, so she waited and asked again as she carried a couple of bags into the house. Jade knew she was strong, but there was no reason not to take multiple trips. So naturally, Scotty tried to carry in as much as he could balance in his arms. If Trina hadn't shouted out "Stop. The rise is right in front of you. Closer to my voice. Walk forward, and stop. You almost hit the counter." he'd have run into multiple things, and dropped his load all over the floor.

"Why?" Jade asked as he came out for a second load. 'And why aren't anyone named Vega helping?' she added to herself.

"Just seems like a waist to take more trips than necessary." He replied, answering the one question he knew was being asked..

She walked back in, this time watching as Trina guided her boyfriend past the obstacles in his path. There was maybe one load left. One Scotty load. Jade was tempted to show him she could carry that much, but instead asked her question to the Vega patriarch. "Why so much food? Anyone else bringing anything?"

"Help Scotty." Holly said. "I'll explain once I'm sure we wont have a mess in the living room."

Jade helped Scotty carry in the last of the bags, over his vigorous insistence that he "Had this." and didn't need any help. Mrs. Vega was busy putting things away, and immediately set Jade and Scotty to work helping in that task.

"To answer your questions Jade, we didn't just do the shopping for the church. We also did the weeks shopping. With Beck, Andre and Scotty showing up regularly again, we knew we needed to stock up on all the basics." Holly explained. "It's amazing. Not just how much you kids eat, but how picky you can be. Belgian coco for Andre, that good onion dip for Beck, sixteen tons of sugar for Cat, and glutton free snacks for Robbie. Not to mention getting the good coffee for you."

"Nothing for Scotty?" Jade asked.

"He's easy, eats anything. David's afraid he might accidentally eat a potholder if were not careful." Holly replied. "As for your other question, Boys his age, and older, are about ninety percent ego. Sometimes it's easier to just let them show off then trying to get them to do things any other way."

"Okay..." Jade said. She was seeing it. One of the things that made Beck seem so grown up was how he managed to show off without looking like he cared enough to show off. Jade, however, had known him long enough to know he loved the attention. He just didn't have to work nearly as hard to get it.

"So?" Scotty asked the Vega sisters. "Why was it Jade and I did all the work, bringing in and putting away the groceries?"

"I brought in a load." David corrected. They seemed to ignore him.

"Let me spell it out for you." Trina said. We," She gestured to herself and Tori, "are pretty."

"So's Jade." Scotty said. Trina gave him a glare, and he reminded himself that Tori was the one who couldn't break him in half.

"Jade wants to be the man in our relationship, she takes on the duties." Tori said.

"You want to be the man." Jade said. She didn't really care. She helped with the groceries because she wanted the Vega's to like her. But now that the gauntlet had been thrown down, she felt she had to respond.

"Then I guess I'm one of those boyfriends who gets their girlfriend to do all the work." Tori said.

"From the look of Becks hands, he was too." Trina added.

"Trina!" Scotty sounded exasperated. "Stop implying that Beck is soft."

"She kissed him once, last year." Jade said. "She should know. But seriously, he moisturizes. A lot."

They all laughed, except Jade, who wasn't joking. But things were calming down, and it was time to relax and spend some time with her girlfriend.

The rest of the Sunday, that exactly what they did.
