Chapter 3:
''I see you've barely changed over the years''
Lily held onto her robe as if it was her own life. ''what-.. what are you doing here, Bellatrix?'' she stuttered.
''I only wanted to pay you a visit. See for myself if you were still with that Potter boy...and judging only by your name I'd say you are'' Bellatrix grinned and let her dark curls hide half of her flawless face.
Lily stood still, staring at the woman who was opening the front gate. What was Bellatrix Black doing in Godric's Hollow? How did she know where she lived?
The red haired witch started thinking of her baby boy inside. Was he the reason why she was there? ''That must be it! She's here for my baby boy!'' Lily thought to herself.
''Why are you here, Bellatrix?'' she repeated braver than before, although her heart was pounding against her chest out of fear. She knew exactly what the other witch was capable of. She had seen it before with her own two eyes. If there would be a duel, Lily would most definitely loose.
''Why I am here?'' Bellatrix copied as she rose her eyebrow and chuckled darkly ''Can I not come to say hello to my old friend?''
Lily gulped as she saw Bellatrix walk closer and closer. ''We were never friends, Bellatrix..'' She managed to say.
''Oh that is just hurtful, Evans.'' Bella's red lips turned into a pout but only for a brief moment. ''Yet I suppose you're right'' she paused as she stepped up the two steps onto the front porch. Now they stood face to face. Lily having to fight herself not to tremble with fear. ''...we were so much more than just friends.'' Bellatrix grinned devilishly and leaned over to the red haired witch and pressed her lips to her cheek.
Lily bit down onto her lower lip and took a step back, now pressing herself up against the front door.
''Oh you've changed, Evans. Do you not miss me?'' The dark haired one tilted her head slightly and started pouting again.
''My name is now Potter, Bellatrix. Not Evans. I'm married to James'' She had troubles not to run inside and scream for her husband. She found her body starting to give in to the fear that overwhelmed her. Her knees were starting to tremble yet she held herself up on the door knob behind her.
''You know I will always call you Evans. Never will I call you Potter.'' Bellatrix continuously stepped closer to Lily until the tip of their noses were rubbing to each other.
''Why are you really here, Bella?'' Lily's voice suddenly turned soft as she gazed into the deep dark eyes of Bellatrix Black.
''I am here to see you.'' Bella whispered as her red lips brushed against the younger one's jawline. ''Mind if I go inside?'' Lily blinked and kept biting her lip. ''Or do you not want me to meet James and inform him of your dark past...'' A cheeky smirk spread across Lestrange's lips.
''Yes, I do mind..'' Lily said. ''James is asleep and so is..'' she paused and gulped ''...and so is the dog.''
A cackle erupted from Bellatrix's lips. ''The dog?'' she repeated. ''Do you call your own son, your own flesh and blood a dog?'' Bella stared into Lily's eyes as she was searching for something in them before turning around ''I do see your point though. If I had a child with James Potter I would name it dog, yet I am certain my darling cousin would think the child would be named after him.'' She turned around again and leaned against the fence then crossed her arms under her breasts. ''What is it's name?'' she asked.
''His name is Harry. He is not an it. He is my son.''
''Harry?'' Bella burst out in laughter. ''Could you not find a more muggle like name?'' she shook her head.
''Harry is a sweet name!'' Lily protested but knew it didn't matter what she would say Bellatrix was that stubborn but to her relief she didn't comment any more on the subject.
There they stood, staring at each other without a word. The morning sky was red as the sun was staring to peak over the mountain tops. Soon both Harry and James would wake up and Lily did not want Bella to be there when they did. The red haired looked past the other witch and watched the the shadows of buildings stretch over the pavement and gardens. It brought a smile across her lips. Lily always loved watching the sunrise. It reminded her of a new beginning. Her emerald eyes returned to Bella who was looking at her back. ''What is the purpose of your visit? and dare you not saying it was for only seeing me.'' She asked the dark one.
''I've come to tell you that you made a mistake.'' she said simply letting her arms fall down, now hanging down by her sides.
''A mistake?'' Lily repeated.
''A mistake marrying that Potter git.''
The witch rose her eyebrow ''it was no mistake, Bellatrix. I love my husband. I love James. I married him because I wanted to. It was not arranged as your marriage was.'' she protested.
''You love him?'' Bella burst out laughing. ''oh my darling Evans, you never loved him. He just fooled you into thinking you loved him. You must realize that you aren't happy. You want more. You don't want to settle with the buffoon who fooled you into saying yes to his proposal!'' With every sentence she spoke the closer she got to Lily again. The closer she got the more tense she got.
''I-.. I... You're wrong, Bellatrix. I love him, I love my family.'' She shuttered.
Now Bellatrix had pinned her to the door and was hissing in her ear. ''You must admit it to yourself first, Evans.'' Lily closed her eyes and clutched her jaws together. ''You wanted to know why I am here. Why I am really here...'' she took a long pause and let her snake-like tongue run over her earlobe then pressed her rosy lips against her the red haired's neck. ''the fact is.. I'm not really here.'' Bellatrix's lips crushed into Lily's with full force. Her eyes widened with shock but then, a moment later, she gave in. Kissing Bellatrix back with the same force as it was given. Just as Bellatrix pulled back from her deep kiss the other witch woke up.
Panting heavily she sat up on the couch, all wrapped up in blankets. It took a minute or two for her to realize it had been a dream. Shaking she rose her left hand up to her lips and brushed her fingertips to them. Bellatrix had not come to see her. She threw the blankets off her and stood up, walking into the kitchen to check the time. She turned the kettle on and sat down by the table. Burying her face in her palms.
Why had she dreamed of Bellatrix Lestrange? She hadn't thought of Bella in such a long time. There was no reason for her mind to wonder to those times. Sighing she stood up as she heard stumbles on the second floor. James was awake.
''Morning darling!'' He said yawning, then kissed her lips lightly. ''Did you not get any sleep this night either?'' he asked concerned as he sat down.
''Just a little nap, that is all'' she replied faintly as she made him tea.
Hearing the cries of newly woken up Harry, James hopped up. ''I'll get him, dearie.'' He smiled to her and went upstairs to get the baby.
Taking a sip of her tea she watched him leave the kitchen. Placing the cup down she stared at the door frame.
''...He fooled you into saying yes...''
''No. I love him and I wanted to marry him. He didn't fool me in any way... did he?''
