Chapter 4

Peter Parker

After changing into our costumes in an alley, we walked towards the abandoned night-club where Murdock said he's meet us. Ivy seemed awful quiet this whole time, thought I should maybe spark some conversation or something. "So...How much did Aunt May tell you about...You know..."

"You mean Ben?" she sighed. "Yeah, she told us the story. Sorry bout the old man..." It was a pretty awkward apology, like she didn't feel like what she was saying was right.

"Look at it this way...Ben's death was the worst thing that's ever happened to me, but without him a lot of people would have died..." Ivy raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms.

"How so?" she asked, intrigued. I didn't know what it was, but simply the way that she said those words sent me over the edge.

"Look Ivy, or Red or whatever, what is your problem?! I saved your life and Harley's, let you into my house, even let you get off easy for crimes that would land you in prison for YEARS! You have yet to thank me for any of this, and now you have the nerve to ask me about my Uncle's death?!"

Ivy's eyes bulged at my outburst, even Harley seemed a little nervous. I sighed, lying against the wall. "...Anyway...Matt should be here in a little bit."

Suddenly, Daredevil swept down from a rooftop above us. He landed gracefully on the ground, looking back up at the three of us. Damn show off. He shook my hand, a small smile on his mouth. "Good to see you Parker, glad you brought your friends..."

Ivy looked like she was about to say something, either about to address her distaste at the "fr- word" or simply to clarify that Matt Murdock was really a costumed vigilante patrolling the streets at night. Daredevil beat her to it. "You must be Ivy, believe we met before?"

Ivy smiled, a pleased look in her eye. "Yep, stopped me from robbing a bank. Me and Harls anyway." The two shook hands, as Daredevil motioned the 3 inside. "Come on, I've assembled a few other members. Some you may know and some you might not."

Poison Ivy

I wished I had some warm legging or something from the winter that was freezing my bare legs. The cold reminded me of visiting Mr. Freeze's laboratory few weeks ago when I wanted to preserve a new toxin that I created. Mr. Freeze's place is practically a metal igloo, with walls sticky to the touch; the air was thick and hard to pass through the lungs. The location was not perfect either, Mr. Freeze's place was located in the outskirts of town where everywhere you stepped had a soft blanket of ice that mixed with the dirt below where people stepped on. Well it wasn't THAT cold but it was close it.

After my little chat with Peter, I decided to stay quiet for the rest of the night for his sake. I was curious but I went out of line when I asked the question. I was just curious and yet I was rewarded with a surprising outburst. We stood around for a while waiting quietly well except for Harley who was walking back and forth asking every minutes: Are we going yet? How about now?

Dear lord I swear I want to shove an apple in her mouth to shut her up. I could tell that Peter was losing his patience with Harls by how he stood. His posture was straight and stiff. He had his arms crossed over his chest and his hands where into fist that shook slightly. I grabbed Harls and brought her close to me like the child she was, I gave her one firm look, the girl calmed down with a disappointing frown pouting her lips in the process.

A figure broke our silence as he landed right in front of us and I couldn't help but keep myself in check. It was Daredevil. I felt my heart beating slightly faster when I heard him speak but the butterflies in my stomach died when he said the word 'friend'. Why is everyone saying that word? So what if he helped me? That doesn't make Peter my f-friend.

"You must be Ivy, I believe we met before?" The way he said it I wish it had a double meaning. I wish that we met without masked and had this secret relationship where he and I could be together. But that will never happen. Never.

"Yep, stopped me from robbing a bank, me and Harls anyway." We shook hands. I kept my stoic expression but longed to keep my hands with his. They were cold and hard against mine but they felt comfortable. I felt my lips curving into a smirk but I pushed the smirk back down hiding what I felt towards the hero. He nodded his head for us to follow him. After a few minutes of walking, we stopped at his domain. Harley was close behind me unsure of what to expect since she was afraid of the Daredevil. She said that there was something wrong with him. That she couldn't trust him. I don't see anything wrong with the man but I can't ignore what my friend said few months ago. Red, I don't like him. Even if he gave us a chance to get away, I have a feeling that he did that on purpose. Like one day he'll ask us to pay him back… I'm scared…

"Come on, I've assembled a few other members. Some you may know and some you might not." Daredevil motioned the three of us inside, Peter entered without hesitation but Harls and I were stuck on the ground. I felt that if I stepped through that door, I'd regret it. Harls pulled at my arm, I turned to look at her and she shook her head.

"Red..."

"Is there something wrong?" Daredevil stepped back outside. "It's a lot warmer inside, I can assure you. No one is going to hurt you two." He said with a reassuring tone. I nodded my head towards him but was surprised on how he took my hand dragging Harls and me in the house. He had a firm grip that when I tried to pull away I couldn't.

We entered the house and we were welcomed with a brush of warm air and the warmth wrapped its invisible cloth around me. I was glad to be inside and be treated by how warm it was.

Daredevil lead the three of us to another room where a few more heroes (yay!...not) where waiting…

When we entered the room where the others were at felt like time went fast, the other heroes smiled and welcomed Spiderman and Daredevil but when they saw us they instantly began to question why where we here. My memories from high school began to surface on when the popular kids were bashing on the nerd for sitting on their table. Harls pulled at my hand that she held signaling me to leave at once but I stayed put.

"Why the hell are they here?" A half man half robot exclaimed with his both his eyes glaring down at us.

"They should be in prison!" A man or rather a skeleton on fire dressed in a leather outfit step forward. I took a step back as the bone-man on fire kept walking towards Harley and me.

"Calm down Blaze." Daredevil got between the man he called Blaze. "They are a part of this team."

"What!" Majority of the men shouted in surprise and began to talk among themselves. The man Blaze stared down at the Daredevil then turned his attention to Peter who pulled me to the side along with Harls.

"Why, those two? They have a deep connection with the Joker and his gang. Plus the girl with the pigtails is his girlfriend." A masked figure stepped out of the group of heroes. For a moment the image of Batman came across my mind but I reminded myself that he was gone. Accepting the fact he's gone caused the image to fall apart. Standing next to Blaze was a man who wore white outfit with a hood hiding his face, his white leather outfit pointed out his strong body, and he had a crescent shape moon on the center of his chest.

"Ex-girlfriend whitey!" Harls shouted at the white masked hero. I turned to stare at my friend who said the magical words I couldn't help but smile.

"Moon Knight, Blaze, back off." Daredevil gave the two a warning and they slowly took a step back. It was obvious who was calling the shots. I could never understand men and their ways but one thing is clear they are always hungry to be number one in everything. I crossed my arms across my chest only to realize what was going on.

"Wait, hold up! You want Harls and me to work alongside with them?" I glared up at Daredevil then at Peter who tilted his head in confusion.

"We need your help. We noticed that the Joker and his gang have been stealing military tanks and several questioning equipment. We think that he's planning something big. We don't know what. Do you know anything of it?" Daredevil stared at me as if I knew what the maniac was doing.

"How should I know? You know that I don't get along with him. Harls doesn't know anything because all this time she was on her bed healing from what that bastard did to her!" I shouted then I glared at everyone in the room. I did not want to play their little game. I am not going to be a tool for them.

"I see what you are trying to do. You want to use us because we are the 'outcast'. You think that the Joker will just give me a warm welcome hug if I show up on his front door and say 'lets be best friends. oh and what are you planning?'. He will kill me and torture Harls. No one can ever trust him." I took a step back from Peter who tried to reach out to me to calm down.

"We are not going to be your spies! You have no right to ask us that! Oh of course since we don't matter to the word send us to the lion. This is why I HATE heroes! They don't want to get their hands dirty so they send out pawns to do it for them. We are not going to do it. You can kiss your so called 'lets work together' out the door!"

"It will work out. We just need to get use to things. We need you two." Daredevil tried to convince me with his charming voice, I shook my head. I grabbed Harly's hand and pulled her away. As we walked away I heard a horde of heroes shouting at Daredevil about his stupid plan. I could care less. I would never work with them. They never bothered on working with me when I was normal. All those rich bastards thing they can use me? Hell no!

I dragged Harls out of the room not wanting to stop, I felt her struggling to keep up with my pace but in the end she gave up and let me drag her (literally).

"Ivy wait!" Peter's voice came from behind us but I didn't stop. I was beyond pissed and the kid only made it worse. "Ivy just hear him out!"

"Ivy stop!" Peter ran past us only to block the only door that led to the exit. "Listen I know that what Matt said made you upset but hear him out! He wouldn't put you or Harls in a dangerous situation if he didn't think you two couldn't handle it."

"Listen KID get out of my way or else." I was tired of hearing about the 'plan'. They wanted to murder us that's what they wanted to do.

"For chris sake stop calling me that!" Parker's voice rose, his anger slowly returning. He stepped closer enough that our foreheads almost touched. I could only speak out my mind. The words were coming out and there was no stopping them.

"Why the hell should I? Listen KID, I hope you find some other idiot to fool with that plan but it won't be us."

"If you do it, you get immunity of all your charges. You get a clean slate and can have a normal life! Don't you want that for Harls? Don't you want that for you?"

"Freedom can never be given. In fact you can never be truly free not for people like us. No matter how many masks or how many times we change our faces there will always be people out there who want to hurt us. We can never be free. Not even you." I whispered the last part to myself. I pushed Peter to the side dragging the annoyed Harls out of the building.

Peter Parker

I could tell almost as soon as we entered Daredevil's hideout that we were going to have some trouble. "Why the hell are they here?" A half man half robot exclaimed with his both his eyes glaring down at Ivy and Harls. Oh boy...

"They should be in prison!" Johnny Blaze grunted, emerging from the shadows. If anybody was likely of making Ivy and Harls bolt out of there as fast as possible and give a middle finger salute to Matt and the rest of the crew, it was Blade. I clenched my fists in frustration at Blaze's attacks.

"Calm down Blaze." Daredevil got between the man Ghost Rider, hoping to calm him down. "They are a part of this team."

"What!" Majority of the men shouted in surprise and began to talk among themselves. Blaze stared down at the Daredevil then turned his attention to Peter who pulled me to the side along with Harls.

"Why, those two? They have a deep connection with the Joker and his gang. Plus the girl with the pigtails is his girlfriend." Moon Knight emerged from the darkness, his arms crossed. I covered my hands with my face, realizing that this was going south all too quickly. God damnit, Peter. Look what you've gotten yourself into? You just HAD to tell Ivy about the newspaper? You just had to give away that you were clearly Spider-Man?

"Ex-girlfriend whitey!" Harls shouted at the white masked hero. The words "ex-girlfriend" did make me laugh a little; at least SOMETHING good was coming out of this.

"Moon Knight, Blaze, back off." Daredevil gave the two a warning and they slowly took a step back. Maybe he was giving off the impression he had control of the situation, but I could see that Matt wasn't used to leadership duties. This 'team' was a joke, with or without Ivy and Harls.

"Wait, hold up! You want Harls and me to work alongside with them?" Ivy glared at Daredevil, shooting me a look. "Goddamnit..." I whispered under my breath, shrugging like an idiot.

"We need your help. We noticed that the Joker and his gang have been stealing military tanks and several questioning equipment. We think that he's planning something big. We don't know what. Do you know anything of it?" Daredevil stared at Ivy, as if thinking they worked together. I knew better, but kept
quiet in case I accidentally said something that would set Pamela off.

"How should I know? You know that I don't get along with him. Harls doesn't know anything because all this time she was on her bed healing from what that bastard did to her!" She shouted at everyone in the room, venom in her words. Even Daredevil looked a little nervous.

"I see what you are trying to do. You want to use us because we are the 'outcast'. You think that the Joker will just give me a warm welcome hug if I show up on his front door and say 'lets be best friends. oh and what are you planning?'. He will kill me and torture Harls. No one can ever trust him." She took a step back, me trying to comfort her just seemed to piss her off more. It was like trying to fix a blown up airplane with duct tape.

"We are not going to be your spies!" she practically spat "You have no right to ask us that!

We need you two." Daredevil pleaded, trying to convince them to stay. Ivy extended her middle finger and motioned to Ivy to leave. "But...But...Spidey saved us! You'd think we could return the fav..." Ivy yanked Harley by her pig-tail, dragging her out.

"Ivy wait!" I cried desperately, they knew who I was, I couldn't just let them leave. "Ivy just hear him out!"

"Ivy stop!" I stood in front of Ivy, blocking the only exit. "Listen I know that what Matt said made you upset but hear him out! He wouldn't put you or Harls in a dangerous situation if he didn't think you two couldn't handle it."

"Listen KID get out of my way or else." she said, her anxiety and fear rising. I feel like if I hadn't spent so much time with her she would have snapped by now.

"For Christ sake stop calling me that!" I screamed.

"Why the hell should I? Listen KID, I hope you find some other idiot to fool with that plan but it won't be us."

"If you do it, you get immunity of all your charges. You get a clean slate and can have a normal life! Don't you want that for Harls? Don't you want that for you?" I was practically begging at this point, it was embarrassing.

"Freedom can never be given." she said, slowly, as if she was teaching me a lecture. "In fact you can never be truly free not for people like us. No matter how many masks or how many times we change our faces there will always be people out there who want to hurt us. We can never be free. Not even you."

Ivy pushed me away, exiting the building. I really had only one card to play at this point, "So everything I told you about Uncle Ben's death!" I cried out. "Everything I told you about great power coming with great responsibility, that doesn't mean anything to you? I thought you were more mature than that..."

Ivy gave me one last look, "No Peter, you don't understand. Great power is what frees you from responsibility. I hope someday you understand that...And that you're playing for the wrong side"

With that she slammed the door, leaving a deafening silence throughout the room. "Idiots..." a gruff voice said, stopping the silence. I recognized it immediately as Eddie Brock, one of my old enemies turned allies; he reverted to symbiotic form as he emerged from a dark corner. "As a former villain, I can tell you this all would have gone smooth sailing if you'd let me take the reins."

"Shut up, Eddie." grumbled Moon Knight. Venom grabbed Moon Knight by the collar, growling lowly.

"You ever consider maybe it ain't Harley's fault that she got mixed up with Joker? Ever maybe try and talk with her, or do your research? Did any of you consider that maybe these people are villains because we've seen them as irredeemable villains from the start? Or were you too busy playing hero and acting high and mighty?" Venom pushed Moon Knight away, opening the exit.

"He's right." announced another voice, this time coming from Steve Rogers. "We're heroes; we're supposed to help people. We went about things wrong with Ivy and Harley, treated them like expendables. Even if they did join, we wouldn't be giving them a chance. At least not technically."

"What are you doing Eddie, you weren't given clearance to leave!" Daredevil shouted.

Venom laughed sarcastically, "'Clearance to leave?' And you wonder why you dropped the ball with Harley and the plant girl...Going to try and find 'em. Maybe if we play the game following their rules we can stop the Joker and not get them killed in the process. I'm done with you clowns..."

With that Eddie left, followed by Captain America and it seemed that it was about time for me to leave too. It had been a long night and I needed to go out for a swing and clear my head. "I need to relax Matt, I feel like I'm going to explode if I don't calm down." Matt nodded, as I left the building, swinging high above the air.

Was curious to see how things would go with Eddie Brock would handle things with Ivy and Harley. His protective yet brutal personality and back-story was bound to garner some sympathy with Harley. Not sure about Ivy, but I'm glad that she would be talking to someone who already knew my secret identity, so if she spilled the beans about who I was it was no problem. Don't think any of them including Venom would warm up to Captain America. At the same time, part of me wanted him to fall flat on his ass if only so I wouldn't feel so bad about failing to convert Ivy.

Suddenly, I heard a rather loud noise that could only be the whirring of a helicopter. A shining white light stinging my eyes, only confirmed my worst suspicions. Gotham City PD. "Gotham City Police Department, you are under arrest for armed robbery, attempted murder, aiding and abetting known criminals, accessory to armed robbery and conspiracy to commit terrorism. Put your hands on your head, freak!"

Now would have been a perfect time to reveal Ivy and Harley's identity and where they were going, but I couldn't betray them like that. Even after all they're bickering and sass, for some reason I wasn't ready to give them up. I jumped off the rooftop, swinging away and dodging bullets. My heart was pounding out of my chest, "Damnit Ivy, you owe me!" I screamed, swinging quickly and dodging constant hails of bullets from the helicopter above me. Finally, I managed to dig in my pocket to recover a smoke bomb given to me by Daredevil, and threw it on the ground. I struggled to get my breath back.

"Perfect timing Spider...Kraaawww" a voice rasped in the darkness. I turned around, ready for anything. My spider sense hadn't picked up anything, but still, better to be safe than sorry.

"Who said that?" I asked, nervous as hell. Out of the smoke on the rooftop I had landed on emerged a frightening figure. Wearing a brown scarecrow hat, a scarecrow's mask and a brown trench coat, he put down his scythe and opened his arms as if to welcome me.

"Bad luck with the plant and the jester, I presume? You know, as wrong as they are on almost everything. They were right on one thing. Power does give you freedom from responsibility. Maybe you don't realize that now, but you're smart Spider-Man...You'll learn quickly."

"W-Who are you?" I asked, more than a little creeped out. The figure bowed before me.

"I am Fear Incarnate...The Scarecrow...Some people have extraordinary talents Peter. Some use those to help others, and some recognize that these talents deserve recognition from the common people. I am one of the latter. In all the years of my...Criminal activities, I made one mistake, I never found an heir. That's where you come in."

"I won't help you...I won't betray this city..." I said, Scarecrow's words only making me more and more annoyed. I expected Scarecrow to get angry and attack me, but instead he laughed softly, sitting next to me.

"A noble viewpoint...But look where it's got you. You protected the city, and it hates you. You've saved Jameson multiple times and he calls you a criminal. You risk your life protecting Ivy and Harley, and they show the gratitude of a small child who screams and throws things when he doesn't get what he desires on Christmas. You deserve better. Join me. All these people, all these ingrates who rejected you, who hated you...They won't so much as think ill of us. Together we'll do spectacular things! We live in a new universe, and it deserves a new leadership. Just as you deserve respect. But the one thing that you haven't realized is that respect doesn't come from compassion or physical strength. It comes from fear. Perhaps you are ignorant to using the methods of terror to achieve our goals, but once educated, I'm sure you'll make me proud...I will find you again. Think about it..."

With that, Scarecrow disappeared into the darkness as quickly as he came. It was funny.

Out of all the people I encountered, the only one who strived to help me was the psychotic Wizard of Oz reject.

Poison Ivy

"I don't see why you're overly pissed off." Harls spoke while rubbing her head where I pulled her hair. I paced back and forth in our apartment just trying to process everything that happened. That meeting could have not gone better, I'd say. What the hell was Daredevil thinking? Putting everyone in a situation like that? I don't think he had time to plan everything out. The rest of the heroes did not seem to be aware what their 'leader' was thinking.

"They want us to be bait, Harls!" I tried not to scream, I forced my voice to be calm and collected. Harls was on her bed in her pajamas a pair of lose red sweats with a black t-shirt with her soft blond hair down, her blue eyes were watching me as I sat down on my own bed in my own pajamas which was just short shorts dark green and a small lime green tank top.

"But they are heroes. They will protect us plus they are not murders. It's not their forte." Harls pointed out. She ran her fingers through her hair straighten out the little knots she had.

"It's not." I muttered under my breath. I placed my hands on the edge of my bed where I sat. "Why do you want to agree?" I watched as Harls tried to gather her words before she spoke. She took her time on gathering her thoughts before smiling and jumping from her bed to mine where she walked and sat behind me. She grabbed my long ruby locks and began to play with them.

"We owe Peter well I owe him more than you do. He saved me and does it really seem like he's the type to just let the others use us? He has our well being at heart just like we were…normal people." Harley's tone was calm and serious which made me keep my mouth shut. I felt her fingers work their way to the top of my head where she started to do a French braid.

"Do you really think that they won't throw us in prison right after they got what they want?" I whispered. I let the insecurity slip pass my lips with my words. I was scared that if we did accept we would just be used and thrown in the asylum where the real lunatics where living.

"Blaze and that Moon Knight might of, that's if they were in charge of things. With Peter in there we will be okay. He's our only friend in that crowd. I wouldn't be saying this if I didn't think it was the right thing to do. I want to have my life back where I am Harley Quinn, one of the best criminal psychologist and not Harley the criminal. I know you want to be Pamela Isley and not Poison Ivy. Do you think we can really do this forever Red?" When she finished her little speech I felt her hands finishing the braid.

"Harls…" I felt her arms wrap around me in a friendly hug, she rested her chin on my left shoulder. "I don't know. I don't trust them."

"Do you trust Peter?" She asked me with her head turned towards me. I sighed.

"I…I think I do."

"Do you trust me?" Harley asked without skipping a beat.

"Yes of course."

"Then why are you hesitating on accepting this?" She questioned. To be honest, I was not in the mood to answer because it was obvious. I may trust Harls and Peter but it's the others who I don't trust. What if Peter cannot protect us from the rest of the heroes? It will be two against a small army of heroes. I don't want any of them to get hurt.

"I will think of it." I promised her. My blond friend smiled with a bright smile. She stood up then hopped off my bed. Harls went back to her bed where she wished me a quick goodnight and she disappeared in her covers leaving me alone to think on what was the next step.

X~x~X

In the afternoon, I got ready to head out to the streets to get some fresh air with Harley. We were stuck all morning doing nothing but have a simple light breakfast. Harls wore a light blue loose shirt that hung at one side of her shoulder exposing the color of her white tank top that was under with that she wore light jean shorts with a pair of black sandals. She had her hair in pigtails that gave her a childish look but she looked great.

I wore my makeup to hide my slight green hue from the public. How I hated putting on the foundation over my chest, neck, face, arms and well just about everywhere that was visible. I had a tight violet V-shape t-shirt that was more of a dress, with a pair of ultra white colored tights to finish it off, I wore light purple flats. I had my hair in a pony tail that was held by a purple and white bow.

"Where are we going Red?" Harls asked while opening up the door signaling me to exit first.

"Let's go to the mall." I answered her while she closed the door behind her. She stretched her arms in the air before letting them fall down at her sides.

"Are we going to rob it?" She jumped with joy, knowing the answer.

"Well of course. Though it won't hurt if we take a look at what we want. Is it?" I smirked as we made our way out of our apartment. The road to the city was a long walk but taking in the city from just walking was a treat. I was about to make a corner when I bumped into a body. I glanced at the body and rolled my eyes at the man who stepped back.

"Sorry Mister. Pam-Pam wasn't looking where she was walking." Harls step in front of the stranger who ignored her and continued on his way. "Okay well bye!" Harls waved at the stranger that ignored her again. She glanced at me and then shrugged. We continued to make our way to the mall where it was filled with people who were doing what anyone would be doing at a mall, on a Saturday afternoon, shop.

The moment we entered through the doors we were welcomed with a gust of cold air then nothing. We made our way to several stores, looking to see if they had anything worth stealing later on the night. Harley went straight to a jewelry shop; the shop was small with less than five people in it, the floor was milky white with the glass cabinets showing off the diamonds and other jewels. There a jeweler smiled at us and welcomed us in the store. We had a quick chat and one thing led to another. This idiot showed us the best that the store had to offer. The shop had the most beautiful set of diamond necklaces we've ever seen. I felt my eyes glued to the beauties. My instinct was to just smash my hand through the thick protective glass and take it.

The jeweler opened the glass case of one of the necklaces. The necklace was that of an orchid, the stems where of white gold and as the orchid was of diamonds and purple gems.

"This will look perfect on you!" The man said as he gently picked it up from its bed and handed it to me. I held the beauty in my hands with the temptation only growing. Before I made the mistake of running off with it, I handed it back to the jeweler.

"It sure is nice." I smiled at the clerk who placed it back in its glass case then back into the protection of the glass cabinet. I walked around a bit more before Harls dragged me out to see the small pet shop that was across the jewelry shop.

"Please, pretty please?" She gave me the sweetest look she could muster.

"We are not, I repeat, we are not going to get you a pet." I crossed my arms across my chest. I don't know where her wanting a pet came from. She gave a small cry trying to get me to give in.

"No. You may look at them but you cannot have one. Plus I don't think Edward is found of having pets in his apartment complex." I sighed. That man has helped us through so much in the past. He gave us a roof over our head and I don't want him to think we take advantage of him if we bring a pet. He was very strict about that.

"All you need to do is say 'yes' when he asks you out again and he'll forget all about our pet." She crossed her own arms over her chest. My mouth fell in surprise.

"Excuse me?" I managed to say slowly getting out of my shock. "How do you know he asked me out?"

"Well duh who do you think he comes to when he tries to impress you?" Harls rolled her eyes which only added to my fury. No wonder he was getting more confident because my best 'friend' was helping the poor soul out!

"Now we are not getting you a pet." I growled and pulled Harls who began to cry and scream on how I was a horrible person causing a few people stare at us. I dragged the crying adult child who tried to make her way back to the pet store. I pulled at my friend but she pushed me with all her force causing me to fall back into unknown arms. Before I had a chance to get my balance back, Harls disappeared into the crowd of people.

"You should be more careful Miss." The unknown person spoke which made me wish I let Harls get the damn pet. I had my back facing him so I assumed he didn't know who he was speaking to.

"Why is it that we are always meeting up like this?" I said when I turned around and only to face Peter Parker. Peter was surprised to see me out and about after last night.

"Oh it's you." He said in a tone that made him sound like he didn't want to see me. "You look different." He said in a deadpan tone, he was probably pissed off from last night.

"I'm happy to see you too Peter." I replied back while trying to fix my pony tail that got a bit loose. "What are you doing here?"

"That's none of your business." He answered quickly not happy of me budding in his real life. I guess the man held grudges. Then again it was not my fault. It's not my fault.

"Okay sheesh. You don't need to be a complete jerk." I glared at the man who stared at me with anger. Did I really upset him that much? I guess we could call this friendship over?

"Do you have a problem with me Pamela?" He stepped forward quickly that I put my hands up in defense jumping back at how he answered me. I was not expecting him to be that upset. Maybe I did go out of line last night.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I kept my glare at him as I let my anger bubble up. Before I had a chance to say anymore a girl came up from behind Peter with a smile.

"Peter there you are! Sorry I was late again." I tilted my body to the side to get a look at the girl that came near us and rolled my eyes. It was his girlfriend. "Oh Peter, honey," Peter's girlfriend quickly wrapped her hands around him as if to say he's hers. "Who's this?"

"She's-"He began to say but not before I cut him by introducing myself.

"I'm Rachel Taylor I go to college with Peter." I extended my hand at the territorial girlfriend who took my hand and shook it. I saw that my little introduction didn't put her at ease. "I was surprise to see him here since he's not much of a shopper." I smiled at her.

"Well yeah but we are having a family dinner at my place. We are just getting the final touch before it starts." Peter's girlfriend answered still not letting go of Peter who still pissed off. I let my eyes wonder off for a while before something caught my eye. From the distance I noticed a few odd men staring at me. I narrowed my eyes at them when they exposed a card…A joker card. I kept my smile on my lips. All this happened in seconds as his girlfriend hold me her life story.

"That's nice! I hope you two have a wonderful night. I have to go. I have someone I need to meet." I nodded my farewell before quickly leaving the couple who left the second I walked passed them. Peter did not bother to turn; he just kept walking with his girlfriend. I quicken my pace trying to find Harley before Joker's men did. I could never understand on why Joker wanted Harls by his side if he's going to treat her like crap. I stopped by the pet shop where she caused a fuss but she wasn't there. I began to panic that I started to lose my concentration that I didn't noticed the men were on my tail. My legs moved towards the exit, slowly fear was setting in.

My entire mind was thinking that they got her.

They got Harley.

I made my way pass an ice parlor and few stores before reaching the exit. The moment I was out of the mall, I began to run. I ran pass the parking lot, zipping through parked and moving cars. The fence that surrounded the mall didn't stop me. I jumped over it and when I felt the soft leafy grass I knew I'd be safe. Instantly the grass grew and surrounded my arms and feet but I pulled away from their comfort and began to run.

I needed to find Harley.

There were people staring as I ran through the streets with Joker's men running after me. They were catching up and I knew that I was running out of path to run to. I ran into a dead end when my brain decided to take the alley (nice going Pamela). I turned around to back track but to add to my bad luck the five men were blocking the exit.

"Well boys, it's just you and me. So who's first?" I gave a cheeky smile as I got ready for a fight. Everything happened too quickly for me to catch everything. One minute the men charged at me and next they were on the floor. I stood there with a confused look, what just happened?

"Poison Ivy it's a good thing I found you." A woman spoke above me from the building behind me. I glanced up at the woman and gave her a small wave I haven't seen her in a while.

"How long has it been Lady Shiva?" Lady Shiva jumped down from the building, landing down in front of me. The young woman smirked at me and presented me with a red card with a gold dragon that was made from one of the finest gold threads. My fingers opened the card and in it was a smaller card with a direction written in very delicate writing.

"What's this? I didn't know your birthday is coming up." I joked when I glanced at the card with interest, receiving a card from Lady Shiva is like receiving a gift from Santa Clause.

"It's a little get-together, friends among friends, if you must know. I want you to come along. There is so much to talk about, especially the changes we are…experiencing." Lady Shiva walked over to the Joker's henchmen to make sure they were dead. Lady Shiva has never left any survivors.

"Listen Shiva-"

"I expect you there, Poison Ivy. If you don't, you will expect a visit from me. You know very well that if that happens, it'll be the last night you will ever see." The threat was evident in her tone. One thing I hated was being told what to do. I crushed the invitation in front of her but I didn't throw it away. I forced my head to give her a nod as answer. "Good. I'll see you in a few days. Oh and leave the Jester out of this. This meeting is not for the loons." With that she left in a cloud of smoke that came from the small smoke bomb that she threw on the ground. When the smoke cleared she was gone and she left me with the pile of bodies to get rid of.

Great thanks for leaving me with the mess…
