Reaching over to cuddle Tim I had found the bed empty but still warm.
I could hear noise from the living room so I groggily climbed out of bed to investigate.
"Tim," I whispered, confused and a little disorientated in the darkness of the hall.
"Tim?"
I could barely make out his figure from the doorway of the living room. He had his back to me as he stared out of the window. He jumped slightly when I turned the light on and looked at me wide eyed. He seemed frightened.
"Tim, what's wrong?"
"Nothing," he replied quickly, walking past me and back to the bedroom.
I went to look out of the window before turning the light off and following him.
"What's the matter," I asked again but he didn't reply. He was curled under the duvet and pretending to be asleep.
Reluctantly I climbed back into bed and the minute I did he attached himself to me in a hug.
"Tim, tell me what's wrong," I said urgently.
He shook his head and snuggled further into me.
He feel asleep soon after but I lay awake for the next hour or so to watch him and make sure he wasn't having a nightmare. Perhaps he had been sleep walking.
Either way it was still strange.
