Legend of the Fox

Chapter 7

AN: Hello all, it's been a while. First and foremost thanks goes out to everyone who reviewed the previous chapter and everyone who asked for updates. Now for this one the reason it took so long was that I for the most part was waiting for the manga to end. Mind you it ended quite some time ago at this point but I find it hard to right during TV season simply due to all the shows on and I dislike staring at computers to long now, my job has me doing it all day. Anyway with summer about to hit and as such a lack of tv time for me expect a surge of updates for my stories. That said here's the new chapter.

Start Now:

In the time that they had spent within Nanda Parbat Kakashi had come to a solid conclusion of the members of the League of Shadows. That conclusion being that they had the mentality of the ANBU; as a former captain of said organization he knew explicitly what the job called for. To be a member of the ANBU was to be at the beck and call of the Hokage, they took on only the most dangerous and important of assignments and if anything where more like the Hokage's arms.

The members of the League of Shadows showcased that same mentality. They were not only unfalteringly loyal but would not hesitate to kill or even die for their leader. It was something that the part of himself that was still ANBU respected. Likewise he had found that many of the observations that Naruto had placed in his report had been spot on. However there were a few details his former student had missed as well, whether if it was due to him not noticing or deeming it unimportant was unknown to the copy nin. Kakashi however hadn't missed those details and as such he knew that several of the League members would not be joining them when they inevitably left whether those people would remain among the living however was currently up in the air.

Still while he respected their mentality it also worried him. Unknown to most there was another group of individuals that had at one point had the same mentality, the now defunct Ne division run by Shimura Danzo. Ne had been a good idea in theory however the faction had only been good in theory as Danzo had subverted the system causing the operatives to be more loyal to him than to the village and the Hokage. In fact the actions of Ne and Danzo had been nothing short of treasonous which was why not a single person had raised a stink about Sasuke's killing of Danzo.

Still he would admit that for the most part they would be more than welcome within their village, once again it seems Naruto's strange luck would be of great benefit to the village. Of course they would need to be trained in their ways which would be harder by their inactive chakra cores. How they even had the energy was a mystery unto itself and one that would need to be investigated eventually. In the meantime however the copy ninja had been occupying his time with training. He had been working mostly on his physical training pushing his speed and strength to new levels and working to increase his chakra reserves now that he no longer had a constant drain from the Sharingan. There was also the new techniques he had access to that Obito had seen and copied over the years and even Mangekyo techniques he now had thanks to having both eyes.

"How was your mission?" questioned the Copy Nin without looking away from his view.

"Boring, just another crime lord." Came the monotonous voice as a figure garbed in the robes of the League of Shadows appeared beside him.

"Don't disregard the crime lords, they may not have much in the way of strength but neither did Gato and you remember what he accomplished." Said Kakashi

The figure beside him none other than Uchiha Sasuke stilled at the older man's words. He hadn't thought about his teams first mission in years and had subsequently forgotten all about the diminutive man Gato who had taken over Nami no Kuni and driven its people into poverty. True enough he hadn't had much in the way of strength but had the means to hire all of the muscle he had needed. Before he could comment however both of them sensed the arrival of someone behind them turning the two were met by the masked form of a shadows member.

"The master calls for you." Said the figure before departing.

Elsewhere the man known as Batman frowned as he stared at the giant screen of his computer. He had noticed that the number of deceased villains had grown significantly in the last stretch of time. Not only that but Pamela Isley otherwise known as Poison Ivy had broken out of Arkham yet again. As if that wasn't bad enough some lawyer had gotten Victor Fries out and both he and Ivy had vanished without a trace. There was also the intel he had received from Kitsune concerning Cadmus labs. Learning that three clones had already been created and two of them were in play had only added to his workload and frustration. Learning that the one clone not in play was an unstable yet more powerful version of Superboy had resulted in him trying to quietly buy out the company only to be blocked at every turn.

He had yet to inform the rest of the Justice League about this news mostly due to the fact that he had still not been able to do anything about it. In hindsight he supposed he should have figured that the twins were not the only clones, Kitsune had basically said as much when questioned about it. The only question he had already answered were the identities of the other two clones, yet because of this he was struggling to come up with how it could have happened and how no one had noticed the switch. From Desmond's files he knew that Cadmus Labs was sponsored by a group however the man had been careful to not name them.

"Watchtower to Batman, do you copy." Came a voice echoing through the speakers of the computer.

"Go ahead J'onn." Stated the masked vigilante.

"We are receiving a transmission from John Stewart I'm patching you through. Go ahead you're on."

"Right well according to the Guardians officially there is no planet Solaris." Came the voice of John Stewart.

"And unofficially?" questioned Batman frowning.

"If Solaris had existed it would have been within sector 2813, within the Rao system" stated the Green Lantern.

"You're saying it shared the same sector of space as Krypton?" came the voice of Superman.

"Yes though it appears they did not orbit the same sun. However the planet was sealed away before Krypton even began space exploration, hell before the Green Lantern Corps were founded." Explained John.

"So our best bet to learn more would be to speak with Doctor Fate." Stated Wonder Woman.

"It appears so yes." Stated the Martian of the group.

Elsewhere while this conversation was taking place Naruto was hard at work as he had once more dived into his training. He had found an abandoned warehouse, one of many in Gotham, and with a bit of tweaking by way of fuinjutsu had turned the place into his own personal training area. Between the arrays used to contain his energy within the building, the strengthening and repairing ones used to maintain the buildings structure and the ones that allowed him to manipulate gravity within the place was nearly perfect.

Of course he'd added more on top of that since the beginning. He'd created an indoor pool for water and fire ninjutsu training and an area for earth techniques as well. This basically allowed him to train in all five elemental nature transformations indoors. He'd also applied a seal that would make the building pass by the perception of anyone who came across it, along with multiple underground levels each one with a different purpose. His main purpose for the place however as still his training. Already thanks to a rather blatant abusage of his shadow clones he'd been able to master the second step for water, earth, lightning, and fire elemental training with fire and lightning of course giving him the most trouble in the training.

One of his biggest concerns however was surprisingly enough chakra control. There were two reasons for such a focus firstly he knew what it felt like to fly, something the gift from the sage had allowed him during the battle with Madara and the secret to it was perfect chakra control. Secondly he had been the one to save Gai from death's embrace after the man had opened all eight of the celestial gates. Of course while his life had been spared he'd not come out of the ordeal unscathed as the action had left him stuck in a wheelchair as he'd lost the usage of his legs. The tenketsu in the man's legs had completely shattered, he knew how to heal him however it required a level of control over yang chakra that he currently lacked. Of course never one to be deterred he'd created his regeneration seal to counter such a problem yet even that demanded a very fine level of control to efficiently use it.

This of course led to yet another focus which was of course fuinjutsu. Now that he was studying Uzumaki class fuinjutsu he was determined to become a master of the art. However a lot of what he had learned under Jiraiya had been completely negated as the scrolls had revealed things that would have made Jiraiya seem like a novice. To be completely honest he'd basically had to start from scratch, only he had a better understanding of the art than if he'd been just introduced to it and because of this he'd been able to grasp the concepts quickly and was blowing through the work thanks once again to abusive usage of shadow clones.

One would think that with all of that he would be content with what he was learning however he was far from content. His goal had always been to surpass every Hokage, and having witnessed what Senju Hashirama was capable of in person and having fought Uchiha Madara himself he knew he still had a long way to go. Kurama had been impressed with his drive and had stated that if anyone could surpass those two and perhaps catch up to the Rikkudo himself it would be him, especially with his training method. That of course only pushed the blond to go harder as the fox rarely gave compliments or praise and to receive either made him want to prove himself deserving of it. Of course while clones handled all of that he himself focused on the physical aspects of the training.

While the gravity seal would definitely help under most normal circumstances he was going at it with a focus and intensity that would make Gai and Lee proud. Most people topped out at three times normal gravity, his father had pushed until he hit five, the level Naruto was already nearing. At the moment however none of that mattered. Instead he was currently meditating mentally preparing himself for the mission ahead of him. He still had no clue of what the mission would entail, however considering the things he'd already done he decided to steel himself for whatever it could be. His thoughts stilled as a presence registered itself to his awareness, something that should have been impossible with all that he'd done to hide the place. Standing slowly he sent his senses outward frowning as he sensed not one but four distinct presences brushing against his senses.

"You guys might as well come out, I already know you're there." Stated the blonde with a smirk.

As he said this four figures appeared landing in all four corners of the room as if to box him in. The figures were garbed in the robes of the League of Shadows with the addition of ceramic masks in the likeness of animals. Eyes glinting with excitement he made a show of cracking his knuckles and stretching out his neck as he regarded them.

"Well then, let's see the results of my training." Said the blond securing his own mask to his face in the likeness of a fox.

In the next instant he had shot across the room towards the dog masked operative in the upper left corner his fist flying straight towards their face. Instantly the masked figure reacted blocking the blow as they set about a fast paced exchange of blows their limbs mere blurs. Parrying a left that had been thrown at him Naruto wasted little time slamming a palm strike home into his opponent's chest sending him sliding backwards. He had no time to congratulate himself for winning the exchange however as in an instant another figure darted forward their arms mere blurs as they shot off strike after strike. Dodging around the barrage Naruto felt his excitement build at going up against the familiar style that the hawk masked opponent was sending his way. However deciding enough was enough he slapped the next two strikes away before burying four quick punches into his opponents chest.

In the next instant the blond had turned his hastily raised left hand catching the leg and as such blocking the foot that had been on a collision course with his head. Knocking the leg back he was unsurprised when his newest challenger spun with the force allowing for his other leg to cut through the air. However as the attack missed Naruto found his counter punch denied as his opponent dived forward and somehow managed to catch his hand before using his momentum to flip him off his feet. Recovering quickly despite the unexpected move he managed to flip himself so that he landed on his feet and turned to regard his opponents. His current opponent garbed in a turtle mask stood with their legs together turned so their left side was facing him right hand behind their back and left hand held out as if in invitation. He knew that both of his other opponents had already recovered while the final one stood back garbed in a rabbit mask.

"Let's kick things up a notch."

As soon as he said this turtle dashed forward cutting the distance and lashing out with a fist only for Naruto to avoid it cleanly and lash out with one of his own which was blocked. In the next instant the two vanished only to reappear several feet to the left for but an instant and vanish again. Despite the fact they couldn't be seen by the naked untrained eye the sound alone was enough to tell of the action taking place. However while the untrained eye couldn't see it those in attendance could follow the action cleanly and in moments both dog and hawk disappeared in blurs as well joining the two combatants.

Naruto laughed as he blocked a kick from turtle grabbed his leg and threw him at hawk forcing the hawk masked fighter to back off and allowing him time to deal with the onslaught from dog who was proving himself to not be a slouch when it came to taijutsu for a short while before hawk and turtle both rejoined the fray.

Under most normal circumstances with the teamwork employed by Hawk and Turtle most people even experienced shinobi would soon find themselves overwhelmed. Both of them displayed a great level of speed and synergy not even needing words or motions to plot out their attacks. Instead they were a blur of motion attacking in tandem yet not getting in each other's way, when one aimed high the other would aim low and their timing was impeccable as many attacks from one worked more to set up another from the other. If you took that and added Dog who was their superior in both speed and skill than realistically speaking just about anyone would be pushed to their limit if not outright overwhelmed and defeated.

Naruto however wasn't most people however and proved it as instead of continuing to simply weave through their attacks he suddenly slapped one of Hawks strikes aside causing Turtle to immediately abandon his attack in order to dodge the blow himself. Pressing the advantage he slammed his fist into Hawks arm sending him sliding back and allowing him to turn his focus onto Turtle who he dealt with by way of a shoulder toss which sent him flying in another direction.

"Alright that's enough, don't make me separate you guys!" came the call from the rabbit masked individual in a clearly female voice.

"Aww but Sakura-chan it was just getting good." Said Naruto coming back into view along with hawk and dog while turtle could be seen stumbling back from one of the rooms corners.

"Shut up and get over here." Said the girl to the blonde who was smiling despite the admonishment he approached the girl who could only squeal and laugh when she soon found herself pulled into a hug and picked up off her feet by the blonde.

"Impressive, I hadn't thought you were holding back so much." Came a new voice catching the rooms attention.

Emerging from a shadowed corner came Ra's al Ghul himself hands placed behind his back as if he had been taking a stroll through a park.

"He was still holding back, that was just a warm up." Came the voice of hawk.

"You guys can take those masks off I haven't seen any of you for almost two years." Said the blond as he sat himself down on the floor mostly due to his old teammates guidance.

At his words both turtle and hawk removed their masks revealing the faces of Rock Lee and Hyuga Neji while dog removed his revealing the masked face beneath of Hatake Kakashi. Sakura having already removed hers wasted no time kneeling down beside her old teammate her hands immediately glowing green with medical chakra. Ra's watched with intrigue as the girls hands began to glow with a soft green light as she hovered over his heir moving from one part of his body to the next with a frown becoming more pronounced the longer she did leaving only his right arm alone.

"Several of your bones healed incorrectly and their putting extra pressure on your organs and muscles. Give me a few minutes to reset them." Said the girl.

Of course what went unsaid however was just how much it would hurt to have multiple bones reset as she'd had to re-brake them first, still he simply gritted his teeth and dealt with it. Finally after about twenty minutes she was done and Naruto could immediately tell the difference as aches and pains he'd been feeling ever since his arrival to this new world had faded away to nothing.

"Okay last thing, let me see it." Said the medic to which Naruto immediately held out his right arm without a word.

For a few minutes she sat with a look on concentration on her face before it changed to one of bewilderment and finally to one of shock.

"How is this possible?' questioned the girl in shock.

"What's wrong?" questioned Kakashi looking towards his former student

"This isn't the prosthetic. Hell if I didn't know any better I'd say this was his original arm." Said Sakura shocking the group of Konoha nin.

"Prosthetic?" questioned Ra's having never known of it.

"Hai, A few months ago our time his arm from the elbow down had been cut off, but this it's like it never happened." Stated Sakura before rounding on Naruto with a glare.

"You, what did you do!?" demanded the medic.

"Regeneration seal I came up with. It was a bitch on my reserves since apparently it needs perfect chakra control and I had to operate it myself, but I'll send it to baa-chan later. With luck Gai-sensei will be back on his feet soon." Said the blond smirking.

"YOSH NARUTO-KUN YOUR FLAMES OF YOUTH BURN BRIGHTER THAN EVER TO COME UP WITH A WAY TO MEND SUCH SEVERE INJURIES." Exclaimed Lee with a fire burning in his eyes while Neji simply sighed but couldn't help let out a pleased smirk.

"Tha'lab" called Ra's after a few moments.

Tha'lab meaning fox in Arabic, it was the name Naruto had been christened with upon his joining the League. Nyssa had given him the name as she thought his whisker markings caused him to resemble one in certain situations. Those from Konoha watched in shock how with just a single word the blond had seemingly changed. His jubilant expression had quickly been replaced by a neutral mask on par with any they had ever seen, even from the Hyuga clan. When he stood and turned to face the man there was not a single wasted motion and it was showed he was ready to act in an instant. Kakashi for his part could only compare it to ANBU members once they entered mission briefing, a complete mindset switch being flipped.

"When you first arrived here I told you that should you prove yourself worthy thought your training I would name you as my heir. Since then your sills have grown remarkably as has your knowledge both scholastically and tactically to the point that I am now comfortable naming you officially as Warith al Ghoul (Heir to the Demon). One day soon you and Talia shall wed and upon that day you will be given the title Ibn al Ghoul (Son of the Demon) until finally you succeed me as the next Ra's al Ghoul." Stated the man stopping to give the blond time to absorb what was said.

"Before that however there is much to be done the first of which must happen now. There is a traitor among us, one who believes there is a better candidate to succeed me. Only one can hold claim to the title of Warith al Ghoul; you will go end the traitor an ensure this plotted coup ends before it begins." Stated Ra's.

"What is my destination?' questioned the blond.

"Baltimore. If you leave within the hour you will arrive two hours before your target." Stated Ra's in what was clearly a dismissal.

"Very well it will be done." Stated Naruto however before leaving as he usually would he created two clones and turned to them.

"You grab the scroll for the regeneration seal and send it to Tsunade. You take Neji to the vault and show him B-04." Ordered the original before he vanished by way of Hiraishin.

"Sensei, was that…?" questioned Sakura only to trail off her eyes wide in shock.

"Indeed Hiraishin no jutsu." Stated Kakashi.

"As if facing him wasn't risky enough before, now he's gone and learned another S-rank technique." Stated Sakura before the group was led away by the clones to give them a tour of the place.

Elsewhere within the town of Smallville, Kansas three people could be seen standing within a darkened cave. The cave itself displayed a number of strange markings and drawings that only one of them could make sense of. That one was Clark Kent, otherwise known as Kal-El the last son of Krypton. Unlike normal however he was dressed in a pair of simple blue jeans and a white t-shirt which did nothing to hide his muscular form from view. Standing with him were the genetically engineered forms of Connor Kent aka Superboy and Donna Kent aka Wonder Girl, known collectively as the 'twins' by the Justice League.

"You brought us all the way out here to look at stupid cave drawings." Questioned Connor with a frown.

"These are the caves of the Kawatche, a tribe of Native American's of which I and now the two of you are considered honorary members. Furthermore these caves have been used by the House of El for generations. These walls hide many secrets we are just waiting on one more person before we continue; speaking of which…"

As Clark spoke a blur sped into the cave at that moment only to stop to reveal a blonde girl who wore a pair of black jeans a white t-shirt and a blue and black lumberjack shirt the sleeves of which were rolled up.

"Sorry I'm late Kal, I was helping Ma with dinner and lost track of time. So these are the twins you told me about." Said the girl.

Connor frowned in the entire time he and his sister had been free of the labs this was only the third time he'd been near his genetic sire, and he'd never heard of any super powered blonde girls. Donna was thinking along the same wavelength only she'd only met the man one time prior to this one. Even more she had no recollection of even hearing of this girl not even Diana had mentioned any blonde girls.

"It's fine Connor, Donna this is my cousin Kara Zor-El she'll be joining us on our trip." Stated Clark.

"I thought you were Krypton's sole survivor." Stated Donna.

"Kal is or rather was Krypton's last son, I would technically be a daughter. Also I only arrived on this planet recently one earth year ago, my ship was caught in an asteroid cluster so I ended up floating through space in cryo sleep for a few decades." Stated Kara.

"You look our age." Stated Connor with narrowed eyes.

"Our people's cryo systems were advanced enough to either slow the aging process to a crawl or halt it entirely. Unlike Kal who was a baby when we launched my systems were set halt my aging not slow it down. Technically speaking I'm older than Kal." Stated the girl.

"Kara was sent here to act as my protector. Unfortunately she missed her window, however if you look at things in a different light she may have arrived just in time." Explained Clark.

Before any more could be said however the cavern shook as a portion of the wall slid away revealing a chamber hidden inside. Upon entering they found the chamber empty aside from a single pedestal upon which Clark placed a small octagonal disc. Almost as soon as he did so the pedestal began to glow before a strange swirling mask of blue and white energy appeared before them. At a nod from her cousin Kara entered first, followed by the confused twins with Clark bringing up the rear removing the disc as he did allowing the portal to die behind him. As they emerged on the other side the twins found their breath stolen as stretching out all around them was nothing but pure snow in all directions while in front of them was a beautiful structure made entirely of crystals.

"Welcome to the Fortress of Solitude." Stated Clark taking in the expressions on the faces of the teens.

"Kal it's beautiful, it's like a small piece of home." Said Kara tears entering her eyes at the sight of it.

Connor was speechless he'd heard of the place of course. Superman's Fortress of Solitude was well known to the Team despite the fact that none of them had ever seen it. It was like Batman's Batcave, Aquaman's Aquacave, Green Arrow's Arrowcave, and Flash's Lab, places that were well known secrets which only seemed to add to their mystique. He had imagined of course what the place would look like, however to see it now it his imagination couldn't do this place justice.

"Inside this place is the complete knowledge of all of Krypton, meaning knowledge pulled from all expanses of the universe and all thirty eight galaxies." Explained Clark a hint of pride in his voice.

"This is Jor-El's Fortress of Knowledge." Said Kara her eyes wide.

"I'd figured you'd heard something about this place." Said Clark.

"Uncle told me about it, said he'd even bring me here when I got further into my studies." Said Kara as they entered the structure.

"Kal-El my son you have returned earlier than anticipated, and I sense you have brought guest." Came a disembodied voice through the structure.

"Uncle is that you! How are you here?" questioned Kara in shock.

Suddenly several crystals began to glow and gave form to the holographic image of a man who looked very much like Clark though his shoulders were not quite as broad.

"Kara I see you have finally made it. Kal-El has told me of your arrival and what delayed it, I am pleased you are safe. As to the answer of your question before Krypton's destruction I had already copied and stored an artificial copy of my brain within the Fortress to help with both yours and Kal-El's training." Stated Jor-El

"Jor-El these two are Connor and Donna. The human's took genetic samples from myself and Princess Diana of the Amazon's to create them. I'd like you to test them for any anomalies or any other problems." Stated Kal-El.

"Then they are your progeny?" questioned Jor-El.

"Yes." Stated Clark causing the twins to gape.

"And their Kryptonian names?" questioned the AI

"The girl is Donna Kal-El. The boy is Kon-El."

"You have done well my son. Let us begin the testing." Stated the AI.

Tsunade had been in the midst of her normally scheduled walk through the hospital when the messenger toad had arrived. To say its contents had surprised her had been an understatement however she should have expected this by now, Naruto had yet to cease surprising her since the day the two met. She had little doubt that what she had received would be a monumental help in the hospitals abilities, however she had noted that she would have to touch up a few things, his lack of understanding as a medic had certainly shown through. Still the fact that it had already worked for him said more than enough, and Sakura's findings had only given further credential to his creation.

Still she had no idea that her favorite gaki had held an interest in healing, it was actually a bit touching as she knew he hadn't had an interest in it prior to their meeting. Kakashi had submitted a more thorough report concerning the nature of her surrogate son's training center. It had sparked the flame of an idea which would explain why she was now standing within the private confines of the Hokage's library with a large storage scroll. Her scrolls had been easy enough to gather as she'd made copies of much of it for Sakura during her initial training, as such all she'd had to do was gather those scrolls, except the scroll containing information for the Genesis Rebirth seal, that was strictly for her apprentice. She had also gathered the scrolls and created copies for those scrolls from the collections of the Shodai to the Yondaime Hokage.

Thankfully she'd already finished her portion of the day's paperwork as she knew if she hadn't she'd have never had the time to personally handle all of this. However with the new system she put in place she only handled the most important of papers. No more request from the civilian council or anything of the like. Only A-S class mission reports, correspondence from the Daimyo or the other leaders of the alliance hit her desk at this point. Her thoughts on that matter however were cut off by a knocking on the door before Shizune entered.

"Good your back, think you can grab Jiraiya's scroll for me?" said the Slug Sannin without ever looking up from her pile of scrolls.

"Um, Tsunade-sama what is all this?" questioned the brunette.

"Well I figured if Naruto's going to be gone for who knows how long we may as well give him something to train in." said Tsunade.

"But isn't all of this a bit much, it would take years to go through all of this." Pointed out Shizune.

"True enough under normal circumstances. For him however two years have already passed, and if you factor in his Kage Bunshin training method I have no doubt he could learn all of this before he returns." Explained the blonde.

"Fine I'll get the scroll, and for the record I still think this is too much. She's outside, I'll send her in." stated Shizune before leaving.

Tsunade didn't reply, instead opting to continue what she was doing, going through the scrolls and removing what would be of little use to the blond. Scrolls like her grandfathers Mokuton techniques while valuable would be worthless for his purposes as he couldn't' utilize the rare element, especially considering the fact that he'd gone and grown his original arm back and as such was no longer using the one that had contained her grandfathers DNA. However her great uncles water scrolls could definitely come in handy so she was including those.

"Ano Tsunade-sama you wanted to see me?" came a voice causing her to look up.

Standing before her was none other than Hyuga Hinata causing her to smile. She had spent quite a bit of time getting to know the new Hyuga Head over the last stretch of time and she found that she really liked the girl, and would admit that she was a much better fit for Naruto than Sakura would have been.

"Yes two things, firstly I'm in the market for a new apprentice I was wondering if you would like the role." Stated the woman causing the girl to gasp in surprise.

"Ano I thought Sakura-san was your apprentice." Stated Hinata.

"She was, but I no longer have anything left to teach her. I have found that I like teaching and considering your mother was a doctor I thought I'd extend the offer to you, besides I know your bored being stuck in that compound." Stated Tsunade.

Hinata couldn't deny anything the woman said while initially she had wanted to be clan head so that she could create the needed changes, she found the position was so boring. She missed being outside of the compound and doing, well anything. Looking back she wished she would have enjoyed her time more before the war but her innate shyness had kept her from doing so much. As it was the most that she did now was play with little Mirai whenever Kurenai-sensei decided to bring her over and of course she had lunch with her teammates, and the occasional date with Naruto-kun. Still the fact remains she was so bored that not many would blame her about how quickly she agreed to become the woman's new apprentice.

"Good now the second more important matter is this. As you know the Daimyo in his wisdom decided Naruto needed more than one wife." Hinata hated that and judging by the venom she could detect dripping from the older woman's voice she did too.

"Because of that and his current situation with the League of Assassin's on Earth, Naruto and I have been in constant correspondence and would like for you to sign this." Stated the woman handing over a slip of paper causing Hinata's eyes to widen.

"T-this i-is." Stuttered out Hinata unable to believe what was in front of her.

"It's a marriage certificate. As you can see the knuckle head already signed it. This will in effect make you his first wife and for the time being give you the political might of both the Hyuga and Uzumaki clan's." explained Tsunade.

Naruto was not someone who got angry often. Even after merging with his darker half he still hardly ever felt such a thing as true anger. In fact he could actually count the number of times he'd actually gotten angry as opposed to just mildly upset like he had when he was a kid. Right now he was well past angry as he turned a look of pure loathing on the fool who had just caused him to fail in his mission. Things had gone pretty much as expected in the beginning he'd arrived in Baltimore and waited on the arrival of the traitor who turned out to be Ubu. He'd tracked Ubu to the meeting with his co-conspirators.

He'd created a few clones and managed to kill two of them, Maduvu and Doctor Dedalus with his initial strike. The other Deathstroke had managed to avoid the initial attack somehow while Ubu, or rather Bane as he now knew him to be had turned and actually caught the attacking clone before managing to dispel it by slamming it into and through a wall. He'd fought the two of them off using only his skills learned from the League and had been in the process of preparing to finish the two when he'd been slammed into and through a wall and into the next room. That however wasn't what truly pissed him off, nor was it the fact his targets had managed to escape and this fool garbed in the gear of a green lantern had obviously allowed it while he was so busy congratulating himself. No what did it is that was that when they'd made their move to escape Deathstroke had chucked a grenade at the lantern, and the fool instead of catching it smacked it away where it would have fell on a passing school bus if not for one of his clones managing to redirect it.

With a single burst of chakra he leapt out from the hole in the wall and flew towards the man surprising him with just how quickly he closed the distance as he landed a savage punch directly in his face and sent him flying. The man had no chance to right himself as his momentum was suddenly put to a stop and he was soon put through a wall himself only the wall he hit leading him outside. Regaining himself after a few moments he looked up just in time to see a large ball of fire quickly approaching him and acting quickly he created a bubble shield just before it struck him. As the flames cleared the man was surprised to find his opponent had vanished smirking to himself thinking he'd scared him off he allowed his construct to vanish however before he could do anything more a searing pain struck his back before he was blasted back into the structure he was launched out of where he landed in a broken heap unconscious. Approaching the downed lantern Naruto eyed him for a moment as he debated upon killing him before deciding against it and reaching down took his ring.

Eyeing the object he thought about everything he'd been told about the Green Lantern's and after a few moments decided to try and use it, after all there was no way this guy had greater willpower than he himself did.

"Ring contact John Stewart."

At the same time John Stewart was just getting ready to leave from a meeting with the Guardians and his fellow Lanterns when his ring began to glow and announced the transmission. He was going to ignore it as he couldn't stand the Lantern this particular ring was assigned to however several of the Guardian's themselves liked him and ordered him to let the transmission through. The face they were greeted to however was not the one they were expecting as it was a mask shaped in the likeness of an animal.

"Kitsune." Spoke John upon seeing him.

"Good this thing works." Stated the masked teen.

"What happened to Guy?" questioned John.

"Oh is that his name, I suppose you mean him." as he said this he turned so that all of them could see the broken sprawled out form of Guy Gardener lying within a parking structure.

"He's alive I just figured a broken back would be sufficient punishment for his stupidity."

"Careful Kitsune you do not want to make an enemy of the Green Lantern Corps." Stated John frowning.

"No, I really don't. In fact I had not planned on speaking to you for a while longer, unfortunately this fool interfered in my mission and as such made himself an enemy of Ra's al Ghoul. He's lucky I haven't killed him. As for why he's in this condition it's because his cockiness nearly killed a bus full of kids. Idiot deflected a grenade away from him instead of catching it and containing the explosion." Stated Kitsune causing several of the Lanterns to frown heavily.

"I see." Stated John.

"As things stand we are at a crossroads. Either way I'm going to get what I want but I don't want for this idiot to be the undoing of everything I have done to build goodwill between myself and Justice League."

"And what is it that you want?" questioned John

"That's simple I want someone else to be wearing this ring. Now I know its semi-sentient however the only way I know of to get this thing to leave him is if I kill him, and I honestly don't like needless killing. So it's simple override this thing so that it can find a new wielder or I kill him and it does it anyway. I hope the next time we speak is under better circumstances. Now how do I cut this damn thing off." Said the masked teen finishing in a mumble that was still clearly heard before the transmission died.

"John Stewart who is this Kitsune and who is this Ra's al Ghoul for that matter?" questioned one of the guardians.

"We don't know who Kitsune actually is. However Ra's al Ghoul is the head of what was once called the League of Assassins, now the League of Shadows. Kitsune is a member of the League and is the one I spoke of about that situation earlier." Explained John causing the Guardian's to share a long look, obviously having a mental conversation.

James Gordon had expected many things when he'd gone to drop his daughter off for her first martial arts lesson. While initially reluctant Barbra had eventually coaxed him into caving upon the realization that the daughter of the police commissioner should definitely have some knowledge of self-defense especially in a city like Gotham. However he had only agreed to it if she agreed to put just as much focus on her studies as she did these lessons. Still while he had expected a few things what he had not expected was for the place recommended to be a gym that he knew to have been closed for over ten years. As they arrived however they found the door was wide open and after a few moments of indecision on his part he decided to go ahead and see exactly what was waiting for them inside.

It was a decision he had yet to regret even now so many months later. After all who'd have ever guessed that her mysterious teacher would be Ted Grant. Sure he wasn't the Ted Grant that he was familiar with, the boxing Heavyweight Champion. This apparently was his son the UFC Heavyweight Champion who had taken his daughter on as a student as a favor to her classmate. The classmate in question was an enigma as despite his age he spoke and carried himself in a manner befitting one twice that age with a weariness to match. He had often wondered what could have happened to have caused someone so young to hold such a weariness for the world however with the way things were with all of the villains in the world it could be anything. Besides that he was a good kid and was usually optimistic about life in general and was an all-around easy going guy. In that vein it was actually no wonder that his daughter was so taken by him, of course she wasn't the only one. Due to his friendly nature the boy had become the most popular person in his school able to easily make friends with others, at least according to what he'd heard.

Still the situation with Barbara was a bit different. He could clearly see the crush she had on the boy the way she was perk up even when he was just casually mentioned. Of course a part of him found this knowledge unsettling, and what father wouldn't when broaching the subject of their daughters with boys. Though if he knew half of what went through her mind then he would realize boy's would be the least of his worries.

"How was your mission?" questioned Ra's standing beside Naruto later within the night looking out of Gotham's skyline.

"There were a few complications but it is done." Stated the blond.

"Complications?" questioned the Demon's Head.

"Maduvu and Doctor Dedalus were also there, I had to improvise." Stated the teen.

"What of Wilson and the pretender?" questioned Ra's

"They escaped as planned. I expect both will think twice before entering our sights once more." Said Naruto

"Good. They will spread word of you and word will spread of your allies as well soon enough." Stated Ra's.

"I expect the detective to start looking for me soon, I may have to reveal myself sooner than expected." Said the teen.

"I would expect no less, what of the Green Lantern?"

"He arrived just as predicted and he was just as arrogant as our intelligence suggested. I expect the new Green Lantern will be much better." Stated Naruto.

"Thank you for that, we can not have our representative in the vastness of the universe be someone like him." stated Ra's.

"Understandable. I figure not long after our emergence Solaris will have its own Green Lantern, I'd have hated to have it be someone like him."

"I will make my departure tonight. I will see you when phase two begins." Stated Ra's with Naruto only nodding before he burst into smoke showing him to be a clone.

"Are you sure this plan of yours will work Kakashi-san?" questioned Ra's not looking away from the window.

"I'm hopeful. Naruto needs to mature more this should help with that and prepare him to take on the role of Hokage, otherwise I'll have to take it until he's ready." Stated Kakashi emerging from the shadows.

"Then I will trust you and your to handle things. I tire of these games of hero and villain. My world must see peace if I am to rest easy."

Kakashi said nothing to that. While there was much that could be said he would let Naruto's actions speak instead. After all if anyone could bring peace to this place he was sure it was his old student. After all he had already done it once, and their world had been far worse than the one they were currently on. The two men lost in their musings had no idea that the course of their actions would give rise to a legend on par with even Superman himself, one who's actions and convictions would have effects that would stretch for centuries to come.

AN: That's it chapters done. I was initially going to make it longer but I figured you guys had waited long enough for this. I've been debating recently if I should have Naruto join the Team, but I'm leaning more to him doing his own thing for the time being. Also I made Naruto less powerful, I want him to earn his Six Path Sage mode back not have it handed to him like it was in the manga. That said thanks for reading, please review. Till next time LATER
