Author's note: Okay I know this is super late and I'm so so sorry, but I dragged it out longer so I wouldn't be giving you guys such a short update. I'll try harder to get the next chapter out sooner. Anyways, enjoy!

CHAPTER THIRTEEN
Date Night…
Mercedes was zipping up the back of Quinn's red dress for her date tonight as Quinn was vibrating with excitement.
"Geez, Q, stand still!" Mercedes chastised.
"I'm tryyyying, but I can't help it. I'm so excited!"
"Q, I don't mean to put a damper on things, but are you and Rachel even going out in public? I feel like that would add some suspicions to her relationship with Sam…"
"Shit." Quinn said pushing her hair back through her hands and sitting down on her bed.
"Maybe you guys are going to a private restaurant," Mercedes tried with hope.
"No, Cedes. We're probably going to end up eating at her townhouse with candles and roses everywhere, which is sweet, but…"
"It's not what you had in mind."
"Exactly," Quinn said in resolve.
"Just call her and see what she has planned."
"I can't. It's supposed to be a surprise."
"Look, Q, I know Rachel, and she wouldn't just hide you away after putting you through this thing with Sam, okay? I'm sure you'll be in the back of the restaurant, but at least you'll be together."
"Yeah, I guess you're right."
"Of course I am," Mercedes said with a smile.
Two hours later; Rachel POV…
Rachel was a ball of nerves hoping that Quinn enjoyed what she had planned. Mercedes had called her no longer than an hour ago voicing Quinn's concerns. Rachel felt bad that she had in fact decorated her apartment to look like an upscale New York City restaurant.
After receiving the tip, Rachel cleaned up all she had set out and frantically called her right-hand man, Kurt, to get them seated—in the back—at the most prestigious place in NYC.
As Rachel walked got out of her private, black limo, she wiped her sweaty palms on the side of her dress and walked up towards Quinn's apartment. Rachel calmly knocked on the door and lost all the wind in her when her girlfriend appeared to the door.
"Qui—Quinn you look—" Rachel stuttered.
Quinn was blushing uncontrollably at her girlfriend, "Thanks, you do too." Quinn leaned in to peck Rachel on the lips and then grabbed the girls hand to leave.
When the girls arrived at the restaurant Rachel got out of the limo first to grab Quinn's hand, but quickly dropped it once Quinn was safely out of the car. Rachel noticed the sad look on Quinn's face when she let go and she felt horrible. She knew Quinn deserves to be shown off for the beautiful woman that she is.
Rachel leaned in to whisper in Quinn's ear, "I know I can never make any of this up to you, but I will spend everyday of our lives together trying as hard as I can to do right by you."
Quinn seemed satisfied by the sentiment as she nodded and gave Rachel a small smile.
Rachel placed her hand on Quinn's lower back to lead the other woman into the restaurant.
Rachel walked up to the host, "Hello, I'm Rachel Berry. I called earlier."
"Ah yes, Ms. Berry, I have your table ready for you. Follow me."
The nicely dressed host grabbed two menus and a lighter. Rachel glanced at Quinn to see how the woman reacted to having to walk so back into the depths of the establishment. Quinn noticed Rachel's glance and quickly turned away from her girlfriend's eyes.
"Here you are, enjoy. If you need anything else at all, my name is James and your server will be here shortly." James took the lighter from under his arm and lit the candle on the table.
Rachel watched Quinn take in the scene around her and was very satisfied with the turnout. There was a single table in a private room, the table covered in rose petals. Dim lights filled the room and three small speakers placed about the room played soft jazz music.
"Is this—Is this okay?" Rachel asked timidly.
"Rachel, it's absolutely beautiful. You really didn't have to go through all this trouble," Quinn reached across the table and placed her hand on Rachel's. Quinn noticed how Rachel looked around before relaxing under Quinn's touch. "Is this okay?" Quinn kind of snapped.
"Of course, of course. Quinn," Rachel tried when Quinn avoided her gaze."
"You know what, Rach? All of this nice and all, but let's just stop kidding ourselves. Our relationship is not normal and for the time being it never will be and I have come to accept that. I don't like it, but I accept it because I love you. So let's just stop pretending and we can go home."
"Quinn, can't you see that I'm trying? This is not easy for me and it's not easy to you either and I know that! But I'm trying, Quinn. I'm trying."
"I know and I just feel so bad that I'm not 100% supportive of all of this."
"I—" Rachel was cut off when she noticed the waiter in the doorway of their private room.
"I can come back if you're not ready…" The handsome young waiter said.
"We don't have our entrée orders yet, but could we have some of your finest wine?" Rachel asked.
"Of course, and if you need anything my name is Micah."
"Thank you Micah," Rachel said gratefully.
When Micah was gone Rachel continued. "Quinn, can we just pretend for tonight. You and me, we're in a room surrounded by other people enjoying dinner. We're holding hands in the public's eye. All eyes are on us, but we don't have the slightest clue because we are so entranced by one another. Please. Pretend with me?"
"Always," Quinn said with tears in her eyes and a smile on her face.
Quinn and Rachel finished their date and Rachel surprised Quinn by grabbing the woman's hand as they got up from the table and never let go. Rachel planned on dropping Quinn off at her own apartment, but Quinn had another idea.
"Rachel, I love you so much. I love Magnolia Barbra Berry with all of my heart and soul. I want to be with my family tonight; my two favorite girls."
"Quinn! I can't believe I forgot!" Rachel was now frantically searching through her purse and pulled out a velvet box.
Quinn's eyes widened, "Rach, Oh my God, is that—"
"No it's not an engagement ring, silly. Just open it," Rachel said holding the box out to Quinn.
Quinn opened the box and was met with a key.
"I got it made after Lia and Santana crashed our first date and you asked them to join us. I knew then and there I wanted you to move in with me. So, Quinn will you move in with me, with us?"
"Of course I will!" Quinn threw her arms around Rachel and held on tightly.
Quinn and Rachel arrived at their home and Rachel was excited to tell Lia about Quinn moving in with them.
"Whoa Berry, why do you look like you're about to pee yourself?" Santana slightly whispered as she was holding a sleeping Magnolia.
"Could you wake her, please?" Rachel whispered back.
Santana sighed, knowing how cranky the little girl gets when she's woken up, "Come on, Mags. Mommy's home," Santana cooed as she lightly shook the sleeping girl in her arms.
Lia let out a whine and snuggled further into Santana.
"Mags," Santana said in a firm tone.
"Noo!" Lia screeched.
"Baby girl calm down," Rachel said stroking Lia's hair.
"Mommy?"
"Yes baby, mommy's home and I have a surprise for you."
Hearing the word 'surprise' Lia perked up and looked at her mom searching for her surprise.
"Quinn is going to live with us. Is that okay?"
Lia got a huge smile on her face and ran and jumped into Quinn's arms and wrapped her arms and legs around the older woman.
"I'll take that as a yes," Santana said with a smile, happy that Quinn was going to be an extra set of hands around the house.
