A/N: OKAY, sooo the response from the previous chapter was absolutely horrible and a tad bit unnecessary if you ask me. To the guest that asked how old I am, I am 17 and I've never been in a relationship, let alone a lesbian one. Anyways, Thank you to those who trust in my writing and who know that I had a PLAN and a PURPOSE for the events that happened in the last chapter. I was very eager to update quickly just so those who reviewed negatively could HOPEFULLY understand why things happened the way that they did. Thanks to those who followed and favorited despite my "immature" writing. I hope all of my supporters enjoy this chapter and don't hate me too much for the ending. I needed a new bump in the road and this was the perfect opportunity. DOn't worry, Snix might come along to save the day. Enjoy! Review your thoughts (even negative ones so I can prove you wrong ;) )
P.S Sorry for the long Author's Note
CHAPTER NINETEEN
Quinn POV
"Pssst,"
Quinn groaned as she felt someone shaking her body. She knew by the force that it couldn't possibly be Magnolia.
"Fabgay, wake. Up." Santana said every word with a hit of the pillow on Quinn's head.
"What do you want Santana?" Quinn said, brushing her hair back and leaning up.
"I talked to Rachel."
"Oh gosh, okay. Let me guess? You're going to tell me how stupid, immature, and irrational I was. Then, you'll proceed to tell me that I shouldn't have blown up on Rachel because she just asked a question. Oh, then, you're going to threaten my life and tell me to get the hell out if I want to pursue Marley. Am I close?"
"You hit every point to a tee. Now come on Quinn, what's the big deal? Do you still have a thing for Marley?"
"Of course I don't. It's just—okay, Santana who was the first girl you ever slept with?"
"That's easy, Brittany S. Pierce in 10th grade," Santana said as if she was reciting her own name.
"Do you love her?"
"Of course I do. I'm not in love with her, but Britt will always have a special place in my—Ohhh, now I get it."
"See? How am I supposed to explain that to Rachel?"
"So you stormed out so you wouldn't have to explain to Rachel that you still love Marley, but only as a friend?"
"Exactly. I really don't want to fight with her. And we've being doing so good these past few months."
"Fabray you are the dumbest person I've ever met. You do realize that while trying to avoid a fight you created one and upset Rachel?"
"Gosh, I'm so stupid," Quinn said putting her face in her hands.
"You really are. Oh and I have a question. Don't get offended on anything, but, did you bring up the miscarriage as a loophole or did it really affect you that badly."
"Santana, the only thing I've ever wanted in my entire life was to have kids of my own. I didn't care if I had a partner or not. And the fact that I got so close to achieving that dream, my dream, and then it got ripped away from me; it was the most devastating experience of my whole life. Yes, I guess I brought it up in context to Rachel so I could make an easy getaway, but it really did have a huge impact on my life. Despite that, Rachel and Lia make me forget what I lost. They make me want to get up in the morning."
"You should be telling all of this to Rachel. You guys really need to sit down and talk all of this out because right now, she's convinced that you're leaving her for Marley."
"And do you have anything to do with that?"
"I may have egged her on a bit, but that was before I talked to you. Now, get up, brush your teeth for God's sake, and go get your woman."
"Thank Santana," Quinn pulled Santana into a hug and Santana surprised both of them by returning the embrace.
Rachel POV
"What's this word?" Rachel said holding up a card with a turtle on the front of it. Rachel was hanging out with her daughter in the little girl's pink-filled room while she waited for Santana to come back with some intel.
"T-Tur-Tur," Magnolia tried.
"Come on baby girl, I know you can do it."
"Tur-Turtle?"
"That's it! Good Job!" Rachel said, hugging her daughter tightly.
Magnolia was bouncing with happiness and turned when she heard her bedroom door open.
"Quinn! Quinn, I read the word Turtle!" Lia said jumping up and down in front of Quinn.
"That is amazing! I am so proud of you," Quinn picked up Lia and gave her a tight hug."
"Lia baby, why don't you go tell Sanny how you read a new word? Here, take the other cards and try a few more with her."
"Can I do the Spanish ones too?"
"Of course," Rachel handed Magnolia the cards and kissed her daughter on the forehead and watched as Lia sprinted out of the room.
Rachel avoided eye contact with Quinn, while Quinn awkwardly shifted on her feet and cleared her throat.
"Um, Rach?"
"Hmm," Rachel hummed.
"I think we need to talk."
"I don't think I'm ready to hear what you have to say," Rachel said with emotion filling her voice.
"Rachel, I don't want to be with Marley and I'm sorry for walking away from you last night. I just didn't want to have to explain Marley and I's relationship to you." Quinn went over to go sit on Lia's bed and patted the spot next to her to invite Rachel. After Rachel got situated, Quinn started again.
"Marley is like, not a sister, but as close as a friend could be to me and I do love her."
A tear and a choked sob came from Rachel and Quinn began to panic.
"No, no, it's not like that. I'm not in love with her, but she does have a special place in my heart. Not only because she was the first woman I ever slept with, but she was there through the entirety of my pregnancy and I don't know I guess I feel connected to my past through her. I know it's no excuse for walking out on you, I know. I just didn't want to upset you if you took Marley and I's friendship the wrong way. And I promise Rach, I'll tell her to lay off because I don't want her to be a threat to you," Quinn grabbed Rachel's hands and held them close to her chest. "I am in love with you. Not Marley, okay? And I would never do anything to jeopardize our relationship after we've been doing so amazingly. I love you and only you." Quinn looked into Rachel's eyes waiting for a response.
"Thank you Quinn for being honest with me. I wish you would've told me all of this last night."
"I know, I know and I'm sorry. I'll try my very hardest to be honest with you at all times."
"That's all I ask."
"So are we good?" Quinn asked tentatively.
"We're good," Rachel said with a smile and grabbed the back of Quinn's neck to pull her in for a kiss.
"I really do hate to stop this, but I do not feel comfortable with us about to make out on Lia bed," Quinn said, pulling away from Rachel.
"Good point," Rachel stood up and reached her hand out for Quinn's and the two walked hand-in-hand down to the kitchen where Santana and Lia were reading.
"Everything good with you ladies," Santana asked.
"Of course," Quinn said kissing Rachel's hand.
The next day… At the theater
"Rachel Berry!" A deep voice called from the audience.
Rachel shielded her eyes from the lights so she could try to make out who it was. The dark figure came closer and it was a portly-looking man standing next to the director of the show, Mike Chang.
"Hi, may I help you?" Rachel asked in an innocent voice.
"Hello, I'm Jim Dunlap, but you can call me Mr. Dunlap."
"Nice to meet you Mr. Dunlap."
"Likewise. I'm here today because I'm your new PR coordinator for the Broadway production and I have found these pictures of your boyfriend with this woman who in no way could be mistaken for you." Mr. Dunlap said holding up pictures of Sam and Mercedes.
"I-I don't know what to say. It's just that it was our understanding that we were still allowed to be with our respective partners as long as the two of us went out in public."
"Well, luckily I was able to bribe some websites into not posting these, but I'm afraid that you and Sam will have to amp up the public appearances."
"We already go out publically twice a week."
"Yes, well now you will go to events together, do couple interviews, radio shows, you name it!"
"But Sam and I are both already in serious relationships, it—" Rachel was rudely cut off by Mr. Dunlap.
"Ms. Berry, do you like you job?"
"Why, yes, of course I do."
"Well, if you want to keep it, I suggest you do as I say is that clear?"
Rachel looked at Mike for some help and he just shrugged and looked at her sympathetically. "Yes, sir."
"Glad we're on the same page," Mr. Dunlap turned to Mike, "Okay Mr. Chang let's go take care of those dancers."
Rachel could not believe the rude man she just encountered. Rachel stormed off to her dressing room, slamming the door behind her. Santana was in the room with her within seconds after eavesdropping on the conversation.
"Santana I can't even deal with this right now," Rachel said dropping her head in her hands and starting to cry.
"It's all going to be okay, Rach," Santana said rubbing a hand on Rachel's back.
"What about Mercedes? And Quinn? I don't want to put either of them through this."
"I know, I know, but it's all going to be okay. You guys will get through this, just like everything else life throws at you."
There was a quick knock at the door and then Sam walked in. Sam was fuming mad; his face was blood red and he was pacing.
"Do you know?" Sam asked, trying to remain calm.
"Yeah, Mr. Dunlap just told me."
"You mean Mr. Jackass? Ugh!"
"Sam, you have to calm down," Rachel stood up from her makeup chair and pulled Sam into a hug.
"He was so mean while talking about Mercedes. He-He talked about her size and the fact that she's black." Sam was shaking so Rachel could tell he was crying.
"We're all going to figure this out, okay Sam? Everything will be okay." Rachel said reassuringly rubbing circles on Sam's back. Rachel kept repeating her words, trying to convince herself of the same thing.
