A/N: Sorry for taking over a month to update! I had writer's block and I didn't have the time. I said I needed another bump in the road but this was the smallest bump yet. I think there might be one more chapter after this unless there are objections. This story has taken a lot out of me and I'm not as confident in my writing as I once was. Anyways here is chapter Twenty. Leave reviews. Thanks.

CHAPTER TWENTY

After receiving the news from Mr. Dunlap Rachel and Santana went home that night and explained the whole ordeal to Kurt and Quinn. Magnolia didn't fully understand what was going on, but she got the gist of it.

"So mommy, you and Mr. Sam have to play pretend all day?" Magnolia asked after she took a bite of mac and cheese.

"Yes baby and please don't speak with your mouth full."

"Well I know Mercedes won't be happy about this at all," Quinn said shaking her head.

"I think Sam's taking this harder than she will. But Quinn, I want to know how you're feeling about this?" Rachel asked skeptically, trying to gage Quinn's reaction.

"Honestly, this doesn't change anything. I love you, I love how you love performing and if this is what it takes, then so be it," Quinn reached over and grabbed Rachel's hand; she squeezed Rachel's hand with a sweet smile.

"You know what? I have half a mind telling me to just quit the dumb show," Santana said, pushing her food around her plate.

"San, that's actually a fantastic idea!" Rachel exclaimed, surprising everyone at the table.

"Whoa, wait. Rach, are you serious?" Kurt asked in disbelief.

"Well yeah, San, Sam and I can go talk to Mike, and if he won't fire Dunlap and find another PR, then we're done with his show."

"But Rach, this show could be your big break. This show could give you your Tony," Quinn supplied.

"I don't care about that, Quinn, I could always find another Tony-worthy show. I refuse to be part of production that makes me pretend to be something that I'm not. Now are you in, Santana?"

Santana looked up at Rachel with a mischievous smirk, "I'm in."

"Kurt do you approve?" Rachel asked.

"Of course."

"Magnolia, are you okay with this?"

"I got lost, but if Sanny and Kurt are okay, then so am I."

Rachel nodded her head in approval and couldn't wipe the smile off of her face. "Now, I'm going to go call Sam, and I'm sure he'll be in 100%, and then tomorrow, we go in."

"I am so, so proud of you, baby," Quinn said putting her hand on Rachel's cheek.

"Thank you," Rachel smiled and grabbed the back of Quinn's neck, pulling her in for a kiss.

"Get a room," Santana said rolling her eyes, while everyone else just laughed.

The next day; At the theater…

Sam, Rachel, and Santana all walked into the theater like they were on a mission. The three of them looked out for Mike and finally found him peeking out from backstage.

As they approached Mike, the look o his face told them he had a feeling what was going on.

"Hey guys, what can I help you with?" Mike said, trying to keep his cool.

"The three of us would like to speak with you in your office," Rachel said with a stoic look on her face.

"Of course, right this way."

The office door shut behind them and they immediately went to work.

At Home; after school…

Quinn and Lia had just got home from school and were in the kitchen getting an after-school snack. Quinn grabbed a diet coke for herself out of the fridge and a container of juice for Lia. As Quinn was putting the juice in the Sippy cup for Lia, she couldn't help how badly she was shaking and spilled some juice.

"Quinn, why are you being messy?" Magnolia asked, swaying in her booster seat and playing with a baby doll.

"It's not that I'm being messy on purpose I'm just a little anxious and so I'm shaky."

"Isn't that the word you use when I'm ready to go home because a new Dora comes on?" Quinn nodded her head, "Okay, so why are you anxious?"

Quinn brought Lia's sippy cup over to her, "Because your mommy and Sanny did something very important and I really want to know how it went."

"Oh okay."

"Do you want Jello or Goldfish for a snack?"

"I want Goldfish."

"Goldfish it is."

As Quinn was pouring the Goldfish into a bowl her phone started ringing. Quinn quickly set the bowl of Goldfish in front of Magnolia, and then picked up her phone.

"Hello?"

"Quinn! You have to come over to Sam's place, we're celebrating!"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, Rachel, what are we celebrating? Did everything go okay? Is Mr. Dunlap getting fired?"

"Calm down Quinn, I'll tell you everything when you get down here. I'll text you the address and apartment number. Bring Lia! Love you both, buh-bye!"

With that, Rachel disconnected the call and left Quinn a little confused.

"Was that mommy?" Lia said, done with her juice and Goldfish.

"It was, and we're going to Sam's house." Quinn lifted Lia out of her booster seat, grabbed her purse, and then walked out the door.

Sam's…

Quinn was holding Lia close since they were at a place they had never been before. She made it to the room Rachel texted her and softly knocked on the door. When the door opened she was met with her girlfriend wearing a beaming smile.

"Oh Quinn! Come in. Hi baby girl!" Rachel held her arms out for Lia and crushed the little girl in a hug when she came to her. "How was you day at school?" Rachel asked as she walked into the house with her daughter and sat on the couch.

Quinn looked around to the party of five going on in the nice apartment.

"Hey Quinn!" Mercedes yelled from the other side of the room. Mercedes walked over and pulled her best friend into a hug.

"Hi, what the heck is going on?" Quinn asked still not processing everything.

"We're celebrating!" Mercedes said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Yeah, but what are we celebrating?"

Just before Mercedes could answer, a slightly intoxicated Santana danced her way over. "Come on, Fabgay, let's bump and grind!"

"Santana could you please tell me what went on. I need to know what happened."

"I think that should come from Rachel. The midget was really excited about getting to tell you."

Quinn groaned and turned to go talk to Rachel.

"And then, we came here and here we are!" Magnolia finished. Rachel just sat and listened to her daughter describe her whole day, from waking up and going to the bathroom, to Rachel answering the door.

"Wow, you have had quite the day."

"Rachel, can we talk, please?" Quinn asked, desperate for some answers.

"Of course," Rachel turned to Lia, "baby girl have you napped today?"

"Well, no, because after my snack we came here, but I don't wanna nap!"

"Don't yell at me, sweetie. Come on, I'll lay you down in Sam's guest room." Rachel turned to Quinn, "meet me outside on the balcony and I'll be there in a sec," Rachel leaned in a pecked Quinn's cheek and walked off with Lia.

Quinn was pacing on the balcony, slightly mad that she's been out of the loop for almost an hour! Quinn heard the balcony door slide open and quickly turned around.

"It's about time!" Quinn said a little irritated.

"She wanted a story and I had to make one up. Sam doesn't exactly have children's books here. Now calm down, and greet me properly." Rachel held open her arms, clearing her throat when Quinn didn't immediately come over.

Quinn gave in and wrapped her arms around Rachel's waist and mumbled into her neck, "I'm sorry, I just want to know if you still have a show or not."

Rachel pulled back so she could watch Quinn's face, "Quinn, we are celebrating because we are free from a director who can't stand up to a man that he hired. The three of us quit, but I'm almost positive that Mike will give in; I give it a week or so."

"Oh baby, I'm so sorry," Quinn pulled Rachel back into a hug.

"Quinn, do I look sad to you? I'm thrilled! Sam, Santana, and I stood up for our sexuality, our relationships, and our rights to do whatever the hell we want and it was great. I have never been happier."

"Again I say, I am so proud of you," Quinn gives Rachel a searing kiss.

"Thank you, baby."

Quinn and Rachel held each other close on the balcony and swayed to the club music coming from inside.
