An: I decided to not do an idea I wanted to do and go straight to the birth. There is one more chapter and then onto the sequel. I promise. This chapter, I hope, won't disappoint.

Chapter 45
The Birth of a New Life

Its been 7 months since Thorin was crowned King. Tension was still high with me being in Erebor, but I never went to the market without Nori or Dis and Nora. I was pretty large and was told to not leave the chambers by Oin and Dis with me being so close to my due date and I had quite the kicker and she or he calmed down when Nori talked or sang to the baby.

At the moment. I was sitting in my favorite chair wrapped in a quilt around my waist and over my large stomach with a cup of tea in my hands. Nori and Ori stood in front of me. I raised an eyebrow at them.

"Salad. Your craving salad?" Nori said.

"Love. You know us elves are vegetarians." I said.

"But. But. You were eating meat at times through the pregnancy." Ori said. I pinched the bridge of my nose.

"Its called pregnancy cravings. It changes. My sister went through it and now I'm going through it." I said.

"We'll get it for you, love. Ori. Help me." Nori said. Winter laid near the fire as the men disappear into the kitchen to try to make the salad. I laid my head against the back of the chair. I was tired of just sitting around. I wanted the baby out, but the child was stubborn, just like his or her father and MANY uncles. I sigh and rub my stomach gently.

"Come on, little one. You got people who want to meet you." I said. A sudden shot of pain radiated through my stomach. I've been having them for two days, but this one wasn't going away. "NORI!"

"One second love." Nori said.

"Not one second. NOW!" I yell, clutching my stomach as the pain intense. Nori and Ori ran in and I saw Nori pale.

"Ella?" Nori asked.

"Baby. Its coming. Now." I said, through gritted teeth. 'Dis. Oin. I need you now." I sent a message to both of them as Nori scooped me up bridal style and carried me to our bedroom.

'We are busy lass at the moment. We'll be there when we can.' Dis thought. I swore in elvish as Nori laid me on our bed.

"What's wrong?" Nori asked sitting close to me.

"They are busy right now and this baby wants to come out." I said. Nori stood up and paced the floor. Ori pressed a cloth to my forehead. The pain was escalating.

"I'll do it." Nori said.

"What?" Ori asked. I opened my eyes and look at Nori.

"How bad is the pain?" Nori asked, coming over, quickly.

"Its to the point I got to push." I whisper.

"Then I'll deliver our child. They won't be here in time and I can't stand and watch you suffer. Please Ella." Nori said. I nodded.

"Yes. Its time." I said. Nori got in position near my feet.

"Then push, love." Nori said. I pushed as hard as I can. Ori gave me his hand so that I had something to squeeze. I squeezed hard as I continued pushing. "Your doing well love. I can see the head. I think."

"Doing well? You try being pregnant and feel how much pain I am in." I said. Nori's eyes widen.

"It's the pain talking." Ori said, chuckling.

"I hope so. Come on, love. One more push." Nori said. I cried out in pain as I pushed one last time. Nori caught the baby as he or she slid out of me. I saw his eyes widen and tears fill his eyes as I lean against the pillows as the room filled with our child's cry.

"Girl or boy?" I whisper.

"Girl." Nori whispered as the baby cried. I watched as Nori touched her check gently. "Welcome to the world, sweetheart." The baby calmed down at his voice and his touch and snuggled closer to him. Dis and Oin rushed in.

"Did Nori just?" Dis asked.

"He did." Ori said.

"Yes Dis. Our little girl was to stubborn to wait for you two and wanted to make an entrance." I said. Nori handed the baby over to Oin to clean with Dis's help. Nori hurried over and pulled me against him.

"You gave me a wonderful gift. Thank you." Nori said.

"If it weren't for you, she wouldn't be here." I said. Nori chuckle and pressed a kiss to my lips, which I happily returned. Dis came over with our child wrapped in blankets and set her in my arms. She nestled close in my arms as I placed my hand on the blanket.

"She's got your hair color, love." Nori said, wrapping an arm around me. Her eyes open and she looked up at us.

"But she has your eyes." I said. Nori smiled and laid his head against mine. The door opened and ten heads popped in.

"Is the baby born?" Fili asked.

"Come in and meet the new girl of Erebor." Nori said. The rest of the dwarves ran into the room and around the bed.

"A little girl at first try? That is rare." Dori said, holding his niece for the first time. I lay wrapped in Nori's arms as we watched.

"congratulations to both of you. Cherish her." Thorin said.

"Thank you Thorin. My family should be coming in a week or so to see the baby. They will stay with us." I said. Thorin nodded. I rested my head against Nori's chest.

"What's her name?" Kili asked, holding the little one, who was now asleep.

"Alexia." I said.

"Very pretty." Ori said. I looked up at Nori and he winked.

That night. Nori's POV. Ella was fast asleep in our bed after early night birth. I stood on our balcony, holding our daughter. Daughter. I was shocked, but happy to have both my girls healthy and alright. I watched as she slept peacefully in my arms. I pressed a kiss to her forehead. Arms wrapped around me from behind and a chin rest on my shoulder.

"You should be in bed, love. Oin's orders." I said. I felt her press a kiss against my neck as she looked down at Alexia.

"Not when you're so far away from me. Come to bed. She's asleep." Ella said.

"I don't want to put her down." I said.

"She's got you wrapped around her finger already since you helped me with the birth. Come on, daddy. You can get up with her tomorrow morning." Ella said, pulling me gently to the bedroom. I set her in the cradle that Bofur and Bifur made for her as Ella crawled into bed. I crawled in with her and pulled her tight against me.

"Love you." I said.

"I love you too." Ella said. I kissed her happily, which she returned. We fell asleep in each others arm.

AN: I know some wanted her to have a boy, but I wanted father and daughter to bond the way I did it. So its a girl. Epilogue is next then the sequel. I hope you liked.
