Chapter Twenty Two: Serious Shit Time
"Tamsin, what's going on… and why the hell are we glowing?" Bo asked as she looked down at her hands in disbelief.
"I… I don't know…" Tamsin said as she reached out and touched Bo's cheek, "We need to call Trick and Acacia, like now"
Bo reached over and grabbed her phone and began to dial the number to the Dal when Alex and Kenzi came bursting into the room half dressed and hair a mess.
"Bobo! Tams! What the fae is going on?!" Kenzi asked as she held her sword in the air and swinging it around.
"Woah there killer…" Alex said as she grabbed the small Russian's arms to stop her from wielding the blade around, "They're alive and butt ass naked, I think you can press pause on the ninja moves"
Kenzi rolled her eyes and let the sword fall to her side, "Dude we can't be too careful, especially in our lives. Shit seems to spring up on the reg and HOLY SHIT WHY ARE YOU TWO HUMAN NIGHT LIGHTS?!"
"We… Woah…" Tamsin said as she and Bo both closed their eyes and gasped. The light radiating from their skin faded and they were back to their normal looks.
"Well, that's something you don't see every day" Alex said as she scrunched her brow.
"Okay did you two like try some new fae style sex toy or something? Why the hell were you two… Do we even want to know?" Kenzi said as she raised an eyebrow.
"Moms…" Tamsin growled as she rolled her eyes.
Bo glanced over at the three and shrugged as she went back talking to Trick on the phone.
"Sorry, I'm just saying… That shit is new" Kenzi said as she looked over to Alex and then back to Tamsin.
"Tell me about it. Bo and I were sitting here talking about the baby and then next thing we know we're freaking glowing and our eyes were gold or some shit, I mean crazy stuff has been happening with the bond but that was definitely new and unexpected" Tamsin said as she shook her head.
"Are you feeling okay?" Alex asked as she walked closer to her sister.
"Minus being totally confused, yeah, I feel fine… It was just weird" Tamsin said as she glanced over to Bo, who had just hung up the phone.
"Trick said for us to head to the Dal and he'll see what is going on, Acacia said she wants to see us too and check both of us out. She said something about us doing 'dumb shit' and how she was going to kill us herself if we've done anything to endanger her grandkid and she's going to kick my ass for waking her up… Let's throw on clothes babe and get there before she sprouts her wings and comes to chop my head off" Bo said as she wrapped the sheet around her body and stood up to get dressed.
"Need back up?" Kenzi asked as she held up the sword and smirked.
"I think I can handle my mother-in-law, but thank you Kenz" Bo said with a grin as she ruffled Kenzi's hair and headed towards the bathroom. "You and Alex should spend some time together. You've got a busy day with Stella tomorrow and some one on one Dawning training, and I can speak from personal experience that it sucks ass"
"Oh joy" Kenzi said as she rolled her eyes, "In that case, I'm taking my fine Ember booty back to bed. Coming hot stuff?" the Russian said as she nudged Alex's arm.
"I'll be down in a minute Sparky" Alex said as she leaned over and kissed Kenzi's forehead.
"Good…" Kenzi said with a smile as she turned and walked out the door, "When you get down here we have some talking to do missy" Kenzi yelled as she descended down the stairs.
Alex groaned and rolled her eyes, causing Tamsin to chuckle.
"Shouldn't you be heading downstairs to talk to your girlfriend?" Tamsin said with a grin.
"Very funny" Alex said as she shot her sister a glare, "I'll go talk to the baby fae in a second, you okay?"
"Yeah just weirded out. It's probably something with the bond" Tamsin said as she stood up and grabbed a sports bra and t-shirt off the floor.
"Yeah… Maybe…" Alex said as she crossed her arms and sighed.
"What? I know that look, you've got something going on in that head of yours" Tamsin said as she slid on a pair of sweat pants.
"I just… the bond grows stronger based on emotions, that we know and I mean you and Bo are totally head over heels for each other and shit, but doesn't the bond also grow stronger when dangerous crap is about to hit the fan?" Alex said as she glanced up and looked to her older sister.
"Yeah…" Tamsin said as she nodded and smirked.
"But you already thought of that" Alex said as she smiled and shook her head, "What do you think it is?"
"Honestly, I think it's Odin. That bastard is up to something big and I think Bo and I can sense he's about to try something stupid…" Tamsin said as she crossed her arms. The smile no longer on her face, "I think he's gonna say screw the laws of Valhalla and make a move to take Bo and the baby and some freaky shit with this bond is giving us a warning or like our abilities are amping up for a fight. I don't know…"
"So what do we do?" Alex asked in a serious voice.
"We give him one hell of a show. If he's planning something we're gonna find out what the hell it is and stop him. I'm done waiting around and having this shit pop up. If he's wanting a war then we'll give him one he won't survive. I'm not letting anything happen to Bo or our baby" Tamsin said in a determined state.
"Are you going to be able to kill him? I mean I know he's a total shit head but he was kinda the only father figure you had… He always had some weird control over you growing up. Like no matter how big of an asshole he was you always defended him…" Alex said cautiously.
"I respected him, but I never liked the guy. He trained me, he was my boss and sometimes yeah, we would have our okay moments, but if he thinks he's going to lay a fucking finger on my family he's got another thing coming to that arrogant head of his" Tamsin said as she looked deep into her sisters eyes.
"I know dude and I'm right here with you through all of this, I just want to know what our next move is. Freya said she'd let us know if anything was going around Valhalla. We just need a plan T, I know you're ready to decapitate Odin, but if you go in guns a blazing we're gonna have another funeral and I'm pretty sure Bo and Kenzi aren't gonna forgive either of us for another suicide mission" Alex said as she grinned, causing Tamsin to chuckle.
"Don't worry Alex, this time none of us are dying. We don't make a move until we have a plan, I'm gonna get Freya back here and talk to her and see what's going on then we are gonna take a little road trip to Valhalla to pay Odin a visit to see what he's got to say. If we arrange a formal meeting with him I think we can have a little chat and set some shit straight… Like inform that asshole if he touches my wife or baby I'll rip his fucking throat out. If we do the formal meeting and notify Valhalla, he won't make a move then since the whole sisterhood will be aware of it" Tamsin said with a smirk.
"Finally taking me home to meet the family are ya?" Bo said from the bathroom door as she grinned and crossed her arms.
"Figured it was about time Succubus" Tamsin said as she glanced over to her wife. Smiling from ear to ear as she looked at the gorgeous woman standing in front of her. It still amazed her how even in sweats with her hair up and no make up on, Bo could be so breathtaking.
"I for one think you've come up with one hell of a game plan Valkyrie, I especially like the lack of self sacrifice in this one" Bo said as she walked over to the blonde and kissed her lips.
"I figured you would" Tamsin said with a smirk.
"Alright well now that we have somewhat of an idea of what we're going to do I'm gonna go talk to a very spicy Russian who's been dying to grill my ass so good luck with Acacia and the Blood King. We will meet you two at the Dal in a few hours and you can let us know what ingenious scheme we're getting ourselves in to and when we are gonna hit up Valhalla" Alex said as she turned to walk down the stairs.
"Sounds good, and Alex… Explain the rules to moms before you two show up at the Dal. It'll be easier convincing Acacia to help us get these two to Valhalla if she knows Kenzi isn't going to burn the place to the ground" Tamsin said with a giggle.
"Even if I tell her the rules, bitch will probably reek havoc all over the afterworld" Alex said as she rolled her eyes and disappeared down the stairs.
"You know she's right" Bo said with a laugh.
"Of course I do, but it's still funny" Tamsin said as she wrapped an arm around Bo, "Ready to go talk to the golden oldies?"
"Yeah, come on. The sooner we get there the sooner we can actually sleep" Bo said as she laid her head on Tamsin's shoulder.
"Is the Succubus seriously sleepy after a full feed?" Tamsin said with a laugh as they started to walk down the stairs.
"Hey, motherhood is exhausting" Bo said as she playfully hit Tamsin's stomach.
"The baby isn't even here yet hot pants, how can you not have energy already?" Tamsin said as she laughed harder.
"Yeah well maybe it's our extracurricular activities in bed that are wearing me out, guess we should cut back since ya know, I'm with child and need my energy for when they are here then" Bo said as she grinned.
"Oh you little… So not fair" Tamsin said with a playful glare.
"You love me" Bo said with a smirk as she walked over and hopped into Tamsin's truck.
"Yeah yeah, some days" Tamsin said as she rolled her eyes and grinned.
Bo laid her head on Tamsin's shoulder the short drive to the Dal. The Succubus was exhausted, but she knew that it was better for them to go talk to Trick and Acacia now rather than wait. Whatever happened with their skin glowing and the connection growing with the baby and their bond was nothing to be toyed with. Tamsin parked the truck and quickly walked around to the other side, opening the door and helping Bo down to the ground.
"Ready babe?" Tamsin asked as she held Bo's hand in hers.
"Yeah, let's go see what they have to say about it, then can we please get some actual sleep?" Bo said in a whiney voice.
"Anything you want princess" Tamsin said as she kissed Bo's forehead and they walked into the Dal where a very anxious Trick and Acacia were waiting.
"Bo! Are you alright?" Trick said as he rushed forward hugging his granddaughter tightly.
"Hey gramps" Bo said in a sleepy voice as she hugged him back, "No need to freak, we're fine and the baby is fine. We just had something weird happen and figured we should come talk to you two about it now"
"Damn straight you two will come talk to us now! Took you long enough to get here!" Acacia said with her hands on her hips.
"What in the name of all that is holy are you wearing?" Tamsin asked as she raised an eyebrow to her aunt.
"Say one word about my clothes and I'll mind fuck you kid" Acacia hissed as she crossed her arms. The Elder Valkyrie was in pajama pants that had Budlight logos all over them, a bright pink shirt that said "Kiss This" on the front, her hair was an absolute mess and she had on one slipper that was purple. "I didn't have time to change. Your little wife called and I got out of bed and came up here"
"She came up here and drank" Trick said as he rolled his eyes.
"She does that when she's worried" Tamsin said with a smirk.
"She drinks all the time" Bo said as she giggled.
"If you three don't have a death wish I suggest you tell us what the hell happened and if my grandkid is alright" Acacia said as she poured another shot.
Tamsin chuckled as Bo and Trick smiled. Bo sat down and told Acacia and Trick about what happened, sparing the details of the incredible sex prior to the event. Trick and Acacia listened intently and both seemed to be deep in thought.
"SO any idea what the hell happened?" Bo finally asked as she broke the silence.
"I think Tamsin's right. That fucker Odin is planning something and your bond is powering up for whatever it is. My grandkid is a smart little shit. They can sense something is about to happen and it's wanting to make sure you're strong and ready" Acacia said in a serious tone.
"I can't help but agree. The bond works in mysterious ways. I think that the possible threat to your family is causing the progress with the bond to increase. You two are already growing stronger each passing day because of the baby and your love, but add pending danger and the bond will amplify to ensure your protection. If Freya will come talk to us and you can arrange a meeting with Odin I think it could buy us enough time to figure out a form of protection or a plan to defeat him if he does decide to continue with an attack on you both and to take the baby" Trick said as he glanced around the room.
"Oh trust me, Freya's bitch ass will be here tomorrow freaking morning even if I have to drag the queen bee here by her damn crown" Acacia said as she stood up. "I'm going to Valhalla now and getting her"
"Don't you want to change first oh mighty one" Tamsin said as she pointed up and down at Acacia's current outfit.
"Right… I'm gonna change… THEN I am going to get that hooker and she's going to get back here and help us!" Acacia said as she downed one more shot and took off down the stairs.
"She's full of surprises that one…" Trick said as he smiled towards the doorway to the basement.
"Someone's got a crush" Bo said with a giggle, causing Trick to roll his eyes.
"I've never seen her like that" Tamsin said as she grinned and shook her head.
"Like what?" Bo asked as she glanced over to her wife.
"So protective and caring, I mean yeah she would beat the shit out of anyone who messed with Alex and I but the way she's acting right now with our kid, with us… I mean the bitch just stood up prepared to go to Valhalla in an outfit that would make a blind man run away in fear to drag the queen of the Valkyrie's back here to tell us what to do and help us. She's hell bent on making sure we're safe" Tamsin said as she smiled.
"She loves you Tamsin… More than you know" Trick said as he laid a hand on Tamsin's shoulder, "I'm going to go lay down, you two can sleep in the guest room and I'll wake you when Acacia returns and we can talk to her and go from there okay. You both look exhausted and I want you well rested"
"Thanks Trick" Tamsin said with a nod and genuine smile.
"Of course, anything for you two, you know that" the Blood King said as he leaned over kissing Bo's cheek. "I love you both, sleep well" Trick said as he looked at the two women and headed downstairs. Bo smiled as she watched Trick leave then turned to Tamsin to see a look of shock on her wife's face.
"What's wrong babe?" Bo asked as she grabbed Tamsin's hand.
"Did he just say he loved me?" Tamsin said with her eyes wide, causing Bo to laugh and pull the shell shocked Valkyrie off the bar stool and lead her downstairs for them to go to bed.
"Yes, Tamsin he adores you. Why does that shock you so much?" Bo said as she chuckled.
"I just… I've never had a dad or grandfather or whatever ya know, it's just weird hearing someone other than you say they love me and actually mean it" Tamsin said as she followed the Succubus downstairs and through the doorway to the spare room.
"Tamsin, you're his daughter-in-law… Well, granddaughter-in-law… You're his family now, my family and the mother of our amazing baby. He loves you" Bo said as she snuggled into the bed, pulling the blonde down with her and cuddling into the Valkyrie's side.
"I'm just not use to hearing it, ya know, and having someone like him care so much about me" Tamsin said as she smiled and held Bo tightly.
"Well get use to it Valkyrie because you're stuck with all of us and we all kinda, sorta, totally love you and care about you. Get some sleep babe, we have a long day tomorrow" Bo said in a sleepy voice as she yawned.
"What else is new?" Tamsin said with a chuckle as she kissed the top of Bo's head and the two drifted to sleep.
