Chapter Thirty: Let's Heat Up
"Bo… Bo! Listen magic vag you need to wake up if you want to feed! Come on!" Kenzi said as she shook her best friend violently.
"You are so not gonna like this…" Kenzi whispered as she brought her hand up into the air and smacked the Succubus across the face.
Bo's eyes instantly opened as she reached up cradling the now sensitive area on her face. "Jesus Kenz! What the hell was that?!" Bo hissed as she looked dumfoundedly at her best friend.
"I told you that you weren't going to like it!" Kenzi said as she shrugged.
"Yeah well I was passed out!" Bo said as she rolled her eyes.
"Which is exactly why I smacked you" Kenzi said as she crossed her arms in protest.
Bo started to chuckle, which made Kenzi start to laugh.
"Are we really arguing over you smacking me right now in our current situation?" Bo asked as she laid back down on the couch.
"Yes, yes we are. We are stuck in a sketch cabin in the middle of God knows where in my Dawning with a hungry Succubus and we are arguing over me bitch slapping your super hero ass" Kenzi said as she flopped down on the couch beside Bo.
"Alright, come on… there has to be a reason that we were thrown here. Let's go look around and see what the hell is going on and how we can get out of this mess" Bo said as she tried to stand, but the lack of chi caused her to fall back on the couch.
"Yeah, cause you're going to make it far in the damn 4 feet of snow outside…" Kenzi said as she rolled her eyes. "Come on Succubus, you have to feed"
"Off you?" Bo said as she raised an eyebrow and burst out laughing.
"Uhmmm RUDE!" Kenzi said as she slapped Bo's arm.
"Sorry Kenz, I just think feeding off of you is kinda weird" Bo said as she calmed her laughter.
"Okay well one, it's not like you have a buffet of options or a sexy blonde Valkyrie to juice you and the baby… And two, I'm freaking amazing and my chi is spec-fucking-tacular!" Kenzi said as she pointed to her lips.
"Someone's cocky" Bo said as she playfully shoved the baby fae.
"And someone is also your only chi sucking source right now skank so watch it with the insults!" Kenzi said as she shoved Bo back.
"True… And I am starving" Bo said as she felt her weak state rapidly approaching again.
"Exactly, so come on hoe bag… Do what you must, cause the sooner you're juiced the sooner we can figure out what the hell is going on here" Kenzi said as she moved closer to the Succubus.
"Okay, but stop me if I take too much" Bo said cautiously as she looked at her best friend.
"Dude, I'm a mini pyro now, I'll be fine. If you suck the life from me too fast I'll just set your ass on fire, no worries. The sooner you feed, the sooner I can get your hungry ass back to Tammers so she can sex you up and refill the Succubus tank" Kenzi said as she laughed.
The thought of her Valkyrie caused the Succubus's eyes to flash blue.
"Woah girl, don't forget, I'm not the blonde warrior beeyotch" Kenzi said as she threw her hands up.
"Yeah well you might want to quit mentioning her. Hungry Succubus thinking about her hot wife while being all hormonal is not the best for control and I'm already trying here!" Bo said as she shook her head so they would return to brown.
"Sorry Bo Bo, I know it's hard and you miss Tammers almast as much as I miss my little fire starting ass hat but really, it's okay… I need your leather wearing self back to badass status like now so we can vamoose from this hell hole. You don't have to control yourself. I'm fae now, remember… So it's not nearly as deadly dude, come on… Give the bestie a smooch and steal some chi" Kenzi said with a smirk.
"Alright, but seriously Kenz, if I get too out of control you have to stop me. Being pregnant has made me hungrier than usual…" Bo said as her eyes flashed blue. "I don't wanna hurt the baby fae"
"Oh please, like you could even touch this hot ass" Kenzi said as she rolled her eyes and grinned.
That was all Bo needed to let the Succubus inside her take over. Bo lunged forward, grabbing the sides of Kenzi's face and pulling the shocked Ember in and clashing their lips together in a heated and passionate kiss. Bo knew this was probably awkward for Kenzi considering they were both head over heels for the blonde sisters, and being as close as they were a steamy feeding kiss could be too much so the Succubus pulled a little chi from the Ember but then stopped as she pulled back, keeping her eyes closed.
Kenzi opened her eyes to see Bo sitting in front of her panting with her eyes slammed tightly shut.
"Bo, what's wrong?" Kenzi said as she shook her head and tried to regain the breath that was taken from her lungs.
"Nothing…" Bo said as she licked her lips.
"I mean shit I know my chi isn't Valkyrie status but you aren't exactly an ego booster right now!" Kenzi said as she laughed.
"No, trust me… the chi isn't the problem… It's not Tamsin's, but it's definitely strong…" Bo said, still ensuring her eyes were closed tightly.
"Sooooooo… What is the problem?" Kenzi asked with a confused face.
"The problem is I'm starving…" Bo said as she opened her eyes revealing the radiant blue.
"Well eating for two will do that to you" Kenzi said with a nervous chuckle.
"Kenz… I think the Dawning is playing a role in my hunger. Between the realm jumping, not feeding off Tamsin in days, and being pregnant… I'm starving…" Bo said in a low voice.
"Then feed whore cake… Come on. We've kissed before. It's fine" Kenzi said in a soft reassuring voice.
"Yeah we've kissed before, but Kenz… I'm so hungry… I don't want this to be weird…" Bo said as she felt a dizzy spell starting to hit her.
"Dude, it's not weird. Just keep your hands outta my pants. A bestie make out sesh is fair game, deal?" Kenzi said as she put two hands on Bo's shoulders to steady her.
"Deal…" Bo said softly as she tried to smile.
Kenzi rolled her eyes and smirked as she pulled Bo in and gave the Succubus a gentle kiss on the lips.
"See, it's not so bad weirdo" Kenzi whispered as she pulled away slightly from the kiss.
"Mhmm…" Bo said unconsciously as she leaned forward again, relishing the warmth of Kenzi's lips on hers. Kenzi chuckled at the hungry Succubus and kissed Bo back as the two felt their make out session slowly growing more intense with each passing second.
Bo's hunger was beginning to take over as the Succubus pushed some charm into Kenzi and slowly moved to straddle the young Ember. Kenzi, who was dazed from the charm leaned back and allowed the hungry fae to top her as their kiss continued.
"I so kicked your ass!" Alex whined as she walked into the house with Tamsin on her back.
"Deal's a deal shit bag! Carry my fine ass to the fridge and to the booze!" Tamsin shouted as she kicked her feet into Alex's side.
"Bitch I am not a horse! I said I would give you a piggy back ride to the beer! Not be a damn stead!" Alex grumbled as she held on to Tamsin's feet and threw her body backwards, causing the Valkyrie to fall off her back and tumble to the floor laughing.
"Sore loser?" Tamsin asked as she laughed hysterically on the ground.
"Bite me! I'm getting beers!" Alex yelled over her shoulder as she threw up her middle finger.
Tamsin was still laughing on the ground as she waited for her sister to return. As the Valkyrie looked over to her left, she saw an envelope on the ground. Reaching over, Tamsin carefully picked up the piece of paper and held it to her face.
"Alex, what's this?" Tamsin asked as she read the front of the letter.
Alex walked over with two beers in hand and laid down on the floor beside her sister. "No clue… where did you find it?"
"It was over here on the floor… 'To my darling daughters'…?" Tamsin read as she raised an eyebrow.
"Well we certainly aren't darling… But I'm assuming it's to us?" Alex asked as she looked to her older sister.
Tamsin shrugged and turned the letter around.
"Dude, open it!" Alex said as she elbowed her sister.
"I'm going, I'm going" Tamsin said as she rolled her eyes and pulled the paper out from inside the envelope.
The Valkyrie and the Ember laid on the floor and read the note before them. The letter said:
To my strong and courageous Valkyrie, Tamsin and my fiery and passionate Ember, Alex…
If you two are reading this then I have been taken from your lives far sooner than planned. I know that you both must have a million questions you are dying to have answered, and if you're anything like me you've probably grown up pissed and feeling outraged to have so many secrets about our family kept from you and you both probably think I'm an enormous bitch for leaving you. Which is understandable considering current situations… But there are reasons behind everything we do. It may not all make sense, but there are things in this world we cannot explain, things we must simply act upon.
I'm writing this in hopes of explaining some things that may make you understand more about where you come from and why I have done the things I have. I can't imagine how hard things will be for you two without me there, but I can only write this and hope that when you read it, you will have both lived lives worthy of the incredible individuals you are. You both are so unique and different, yet there are similarities between you two that make me smile as they warm my heart.
I was so proud of both of you. From the moment I saw each of you and held you in my arms, I knew I had two special daughters who were meant to be so much more than warriors, killers… meant to be more than what others will try to force you to become. A Valkyrie and an Ember… Two of the rarest and greatest forms of fae in our world, and I'm blessed enough to have both sharing my blood line. To look at you now…
Tamsin, such a beautiful child with locks so golden and strength radiating from those green eyes. Even now I can tell you're going to be a handful. You seem to find a fight in everything. No matter who it is or what it is about, you stand strong and confident. It makes me smile when I see you cross those tiny arms and scrunch your nose like you rule the world. Hell, one day you might if you keep it up. You have such a drive. You are everything a Valkyrie should be. True warriors aren't made or trained to be great, they just are… and you my dear are bred to be a force of nature. You are a natural and gifted warrior, but you are so much more than that. You love so purely and your heart is so strong. There will be times when being a Valkyrie will darken your life. I went through it all… I know the struggle that comes with our gift. But, never let that darkness cloud the light that life brings you. Find love and happiness, and when you do, don't let it slip away or fade with the dark. Do not ever doubt yourself. Ironic to hear that said to you when our power fuels from doubt, but the greatest weakness for our kind is to doubt ourselves. Don't let people have a hold over you. No matter how powerful someone seems, everyone has a weakness that will break them. You will grow to be legendary. Hell, I know you'll demolish my records in Valhalla, probably Acacia's too… But don't tell her I said that. The old bitch is competitive. Don't let the tales of our kind categorize you as a villain. There is so much good in your heart. Find love, build a family, and do everything in your power to keep them with you and give them all of who you are, because family is what matters more than anything. Don't keep hate and rage in your heart. Don't hold a grudge. Life is far too short. Be great. Be strong. Be fearless. Be who you are and don't give a damn what anyone else thinks.
Alex, oh my dear little spark. You are going to be rather troublesome. I can tell already. You make me smile when I look at your sweet face. Even as a baby, your eyes are always glued on Tamsin. It makes me laugh to see you so young try to scrunch your nose like her. You are something, that's for sure. You are so full of joy and happiness. You may have your father's gift, but you are nothing like him… No matter what anyone says. The abilities you are blessed with are rare, and although they are greatly associated with evil, don't let the power consume you and decide what or who you will become. To possess a connection with fire is to hold something inside you many only dream of. It's something to be proud of. Don't ever be ashamed of being an Ember, embrace it and be open to all the wonders that it holds. I can't speak from personal experience, but I do know the struggles that your father faces with his powers each and every day. I hope that it does not treat you like it has him. There are nights I see him outside with fire in his palms, just looking at the fire as if he's waiting for the flames to give him all the answers. There is a war raging inside him and although I try to help him, it's hard when he won't let anyone in. Don't do that to yourself. Don't hold everything inside of you because one day, all the emotions that fuel within you will surface and when it does, it will be a form of self destruction I would never want to see you go through. You have a powerful gift, but that doesn't mean it controls you. Holding you in my arms I see what a kind and gentle soul you are. Your sweet smile and laugh… You have my eyes… As does Tamsin, and your blonde hair… Looking at you just makes me beam with pride. You will be fierce in all you encounter, just don't hold back on what you are capable of. Do good, be good. Don't give in to the internal struggle that will come with being an Ember. First and foremost you are my daughter, you have the blood of a Valkyrie in your veins. Don't let that die. Don't fight what you are, but choose to do good with what you have. Fire can be destructive in the wrong hands, but it also brings warmth to others.
Look after one another. Seeing you two now reminds me of Acacia and myself when we were growing up. She could be the biggest pain in my ass, but I love her more than anything in this world. I wouldn't have been able to raise you two without her. She pushed me and forced me to strive to be the best. She's a sweet and caring person, once you get pass the booze and bitchy side of her. Look after her too, because as much as she will never admit it, she will need you both.
Your father has been consumed by the hatred and rage. He's become greedy and angered. I've tried to reason with him, but it's proven to be futile. He's hell bent on destroying Valhalla. He hasn't told me everything, but from what I've gathered there is something going on with your father and Odin. They've been meeting in secret and having numerous discussions. To have your father meeting with one of the rulers of the Valkyrie's is concerning. I fear he's been misleading me, but right now I don't have enough information to go against him. I feel as though if I stand beside him I can gather more information on what his true intentions are and find out what Odin is planning. If his plans include either of you, I can assure you I won't hesitate to strike his ass down until he chokes on his own blood. Until I know what's going on with Odin, I can't turn against your father. I have to stand beside him, because if I turn on him now…. I don't know what could happen to either of you. At this point I wouldn't put it past your father to kill me if he knew I was second guessing him. People will judge me for whatever I am about to do, they'll say I was a monster, that I was blinded by your father's love, but in the end there is only one thing on my mind that concerns me, and that is that the two of you are protected.
I hope you'll forgive me for whatever the outcome of the next several days is. Don't either of you forget how much I love you and how proud I am of you. No matter what, the two of you are the greatest thing I have ever done in my life. No regrets, just cherishing the moments that I do have with the two most important people in my life… My girls… My beautiful, strong, and fearless daughters.
Survive and protect the ones you love.
Remember, there is never an obstacle that cannot be overcome. Everyone has a weakness, and everyone can be defeated. There is never easy times in battle, simply moments that test our strength. Be smart, determined, and push yourselves to live a life that is what you want and deserve. Don't settle for less and never back down.

As the two sisters finished reading the letter, tears were freely flowing from their eyes.
"Tams…" Alex said as she looked over to her sister.
Tamsin moved and put her arm around her little sister so that she was holding on to Alex. " I know…"
"What the hell did dad get himself into with Odin?" Alex asked as she wiped her eyes.
"I don't know… But what I do know is that when we meet with him, that asshole has a shit ton of explaining to do… He tried to take us from mom and now he's trying to take my kid… Bastard has fucking crossed the line" Tamsin said with a fire in her eyes.
"He fucked with the wrong family…" Alex said as she gave a smirk.
"Damn straight he did… To think all these centuries everyone thought mom was dad's partner in crime, when in reality she was trying to gather information on Odin…" Tamsin said as she huffed out a laugh.
"Mom was an undercover badass" Alex said as she laughed.
"Yeah she was… It sucks that no one knew who she really was… I mean hell we didn't even know…" Tamsin said as she sighed.
"Yeah, but we know more now… and I'm betting to think if mom left us this note…" Alex said as her eyes fell on the trunk in the middle of the room.
"Then she may have left us more to go on…" Tamsin said as her eyes followed her sister's gaze.
"Toss the trunk?" Alex asked as she looked to her sister.
"Hell yes!" Tamsin said as the two shot up off the floor and scurried to turn out the contents of their mother's trunk.
